First off, don't ask for pumpkin spice....they don't have it and that's TOTALLY okay! This place is wonderful for anyone! It cam get busy, but they are so fast! The people are so diverse, it feels like I'm in another world! I'm only visiting and wish I could take it with me! The quiche was sooooooo yummy!

Very popular restaurant. We tried their Mac and cheese and it was amazing. The staff is very friendly and they keep the restaurant as clean as possible. If you're looking for a place to set up your laptop and work on papers, there is plenty of space to do so. We very much enjoyed visiting this location and would recommend it to anyone visiting.

I've been going to this place for 15 years. It never gets old. In fact, I think it's better than ever. I used to live behind it before the light rail went in. There's indoor and outdoor seating. No one is pretentious, everyone is super cool. Great place to get out and do some computer work. Desserts and other things to eat as well. Everything is good.

I’ve always enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere at Lux and the coffee is pretty tasty, but sadly, the food has been less than awesome my last few visits. The bacon is super fatty and over cooked and the grilled cheese/tomato soup lunch now features a charred/burned , flavorless grilled cheese and a hot bowl of v8 juice. I used to really look forward to eating there (I used to crave their seasoned, perfectly cooked grilled cheese and delicious soup), but lately it’s been very disappointing. Still a cool place, I just don’t think I’ll be going out of my way to stop there anymore.

This place is always amazing! The crowd ranges from 20's to 50's. Great place for study groups, one on one, and small business meetings. Large projector in the back shows college sports. Full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. Great treats, drinks, and wine on the side. I've not been disappointed in anything I try from there. The staff is 5-stars, 100% best and genuine attitudes, not false or saccharin like many other places. Open way late for the philosophers and insomniacs - I consider it my Clean, Well-lit Place.

Welcome to one of the most unique spaces in Phoenix. A wide and interesting assortment of baked goods, entrees, coffee drinks and cocktails are yours to choose from. I’ve been quite happy with nearly everything I’ve ordered here. My biggest beef with this place (and you’ll see this when you come in for a visit) is the god awful layout of literally everything. It’s afterthought embodied within four walls. Customers and staff are tripping over each other to get around. The cashier stand is not easy to get to when the baristas mumble your name when your drinks are ready. If you’re a first timer here, good luck trying to make sense of the chaos. But that’s a small price to pay for the experience of it all. A word to the wise: don’t come here just for the coffee. It isn’t good, nor are the baristas trained properly. I’ve consistently had grits in my Americanos. Staff doesn’t properly purge their steam wands, and they pull shots directly into your cup, which is a huge no no if you’re looking for quality and consistency with your espresso shots. Even the drip coffee tasted weak. It’s a shame, really, because they’ve got so much else going for them.

A must-see for any local or visitor to the valley. Everything about this place is delicious--baked goods, coffee, drinks, plates, beats, and vibe. The breakfast sandwich is my favorite dish, and the peanut butter filled cookie has become an actual legend in our household. How they create such masterpieces out of such a small space, I'll never know. But I'm happy to sip my coffee and watch it all in awe.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Phoenix. They have a great menu that's constantly changing. The place has a energy that is unmatched. The laid back air is perfect for casual dates, studying, or just hanging out with friends. There's also a bar in case you want to drink more than just coffee. Me and my friends are regulars there. To add to the relaxed vibe it also has a artsy feel to it. All different types of people come to lux from business owners to students. It's always a great crowd to mix and mingle with. Your place got me through the last 2 days of my school semester and helped me pass 2 very important classes! I love that you have gluten free dairy free options (for those of us with issues beyond our control) and I love that your staff doesn't give me any grief about my diet restrictions. Everyone who works there is nice and you can tell they enjoy what they do. The music is always awesome and environment great which makes for a better studying spot than my school's library!!! <3 (ASU would be wise if they modeled their campuses after your business instead of charging students parking/providing very limited unhealthy food options at high prices). #JustSaying!!

I've always wondered, why am I given coffee in a paper cup on some visits, and in a ceramic coffee cup on others? No one ever asks if I'm staying or going. Seems a waste of paper cups when I always drink my coffee there. I've always felt that part of good service is for the employee to engage with the customer and find out what the customer is doing, not vice versa.

We each had a burger (mine without a bun as they do not offer gluten-free breads), which came with a hefty and quite yummy side salad instead of fries. My husband thinks it was possibly the best burger he's ever had!

Good coffee, huge selection of handmade pastries. Staff is very knowledgeable and attentive, and they make great drinks. The place has a cool urban coffeehouse feel, and it's conveniently located to the light rail and downtown. Good place to people watch or work remotely. Nice side patio. Far more hip than Starbucks and I feel totally uncool when I am here. Seriously, if Aracade Fire or Neutral Milk Hotel opened a coffee shop instead of each putting out one solid indie album, it would be this place.

I don't think I've ever had a bad experience while at Lux. The bartenders genuinely care about the cocktail they are crafting as well as the experience. If your tastebuds are off, no worries, they'll concoct something fresh for you. Look for Sammy or Josh. They truly care about customer experiences. Mint Julep, Moscow Mules and Old Fashions will do tight by your side.

A must for any coffee lover with free refills and wifi too! Pastries are made in house, the butterscotch scones are amazing. #1 place in Phoenix for coffee and in the top 10 for food. Google map it, no sign or address numbers on the building. Have a look around there are quiet tables and comfortable sofas.

One of the few cafes in this part of uptown so I see why it draws in the customers. There is almost always a line so be prepared to wait. I was not impressed with my dry coffee cake or the overpriced coffee. I must admit their biscuits and gravy looked delicious, but it appeared you get one biscuit with your order so the portion sizes could be bigger for the price.

WATCH OUT WILL YOU!!! I got up in the morning today and put on the usual clothing and walked out the door. The rail was sure to roll around soon. I had my small back pack strewn around one of my shoulders as I waited. I get out of the train and head towards my usual location. I open up the wooden doors and make my way to the barista counter that is lined with a high glass partisan. I order my usual black coffee and head off into the depths of the shop. I enter a room on the side where there was an open spot. I take the seat, plug in my computer, put on my head phones but do not play any music and get ready to get into the zone. I open up a small vial in my purse and discreetly pour a small orange pill into the palm of my hand. I lock into the computer screen. I write. I write I write I write. I focus I write. I produce. I am calm. I feel the flow. My mind is my mind now and it does what I want it too. I feel my heart race. I feel myself start to sweat. I feel a tremor in my hands. But my brain is under my command now. Someone bumps into me. I jump in my chair and say a little too loudly "watch out would you!!!" to the gentleman that bumped me. He apologizes and assumes his position at a space across the room from me. I say across the room "Sorry for over reacting I am just trying to get in the zone". He nods and focuses on his I-Phone. I continue to be in the zone. i continue to produce. I continue to focus. Hours fly by and my attention is locked in solid. Finally after I am done with my project I get up and gather my things. I walk out of the room leaving a cold cup of coffee that went untounched behind.

I love the food and the drinks are good too. The service is subpar. It is INSANELY busy at times. There is so much seating and sometimes you honestly can’t find anything. Also you may to park far away during peak hours. Sometimes the internet is really slow, probably because thee are so many people using it. I’ve had people take my drink and then I’m standing there for awhile waiting for my drink and when I say something they say it’s already been made. So a little bit more organization would help. However I do like the vibe here, I just don’t go very often because of the aforementioned... I like to have some breathing room when I go to a coffee shop.

We drive across town just to check out the pastry case at Lux and it is always worth the drive. A good place to start is their solid lemon tarts. Seating can get a bit crowded on Friday and Saturday night as they also serve alcohol but even then, it’s still the best place in town for dessert!

If you just go to Lux for coffee, you are missing out. Please try their food and baked goods! They are top notch for sure! While there tends to be a line out the door. The wait tends to be fairly short, so don’t be deterred! Definitely get the homemade whipped cream in your coffee because it’s incredible! I wish the music was a bit but it does dull out all the other customers convos. The main thing I find annoying is how many people camp at their seats for hours. It can be difficult to find seats during peak times.

A nice tucked in and hidden place. I don't know if you can see the sign from the street, but it's a really neat joint. Forget the typical Starbucks, they offer you the same thing.but this place is amazing, you can get coffees, food, and then they have cocktails and brews.. so if you want to come here and get the coffee shop vibe you can have it.want to watch the game guess what? You can have it, outside patios too. Overall don't pass it up..

That chicken bacon jalapeno avocodo sandwich and burger that my son ate was the best meal I've eaten in a very very long time. The coffee was even top notch. This excellent cafe lives up to its name, and is busy for a reason. The atmosphere is very unique, slightly bohemian, and comfortable. Far more than a coffee shop, you can also get full meals as well as full bar service. You'll find that this establishment fully embraces the digital nomad culture, providing a number of tables with plugs close by, exceptional wifi, and some sectioned-off rooms to cut down on the chatter and bustle of those there to talk and drink. The bakery leaves a little something to be desired, but for cafe fair, it's adequate. The addition of a quick service line more than compensates for the small bakery assortment. Parking is limited, but there is street-side parking next to an urban farm across the street which compensates for this. Prices are competitive with other coffee shops in the area. With all the extras that Lux Central offers, it's a very compelling option. Highly recommended.

If you are looking to hangout in the afternoon or evening, they have an awesome selection of beers and wines, as well their very own custom drinks, one I always recommend is the Espresso Martini, full of flavor with that lovely taste of coffee. Everyone that has tried this has absolutely loved it, and Sammy is awesome at making them. If you decide to check out Lux for lunch or dinner, I recommend the Mac and Cheese bowl with bacon and jalapeno!

We decided to check out this place for a late breakfast. Upon walking in I felt in the way and unsure of where to order, the layout is hectic. The coffee tasted burnt and came out scorching hot. The basic cocktail I ordered was not made properly, it was way too sweet. The veggie hash was burnt and the egg sandwich was very greasy. On top of all of that was loud music.

I love this place and their open late on the weekend. They even have a bar,2 sitting areas and a computer room area. The music is always dope.

PREMISSISS

The water bin nozzle at the sugar stand is consistently located above trash can. Too close to the trash, cup gets very close to inside of the trash to fill cup with water.

Coffee is good but it is packed. So packed you cannot find a seat and having an available restroom that is not occupied is unheard of. There are lines.

This is a great hidden gem! Fantastic atmosphere and positive vibes all around. Here you have students, business people, doctors from nearby hospitals. It’s like being back in San Francisco. And my mocha was very good! My only wish is that they stop offering plastic straws and cups. There are sustainable alternatives to this. I enjoyed my coffee in real stoneware cup, though. Strongly recommended.

Great vibes, huge selections of desserts and pastries no matter what time you get there. Wonderful food offerings all day and night. We have never checked out the bar, but there is that too! One of the best coffee.

A little on the high side price-wise, but definitely worth checking out! Great coffee shop vibe, pastries and food are available. Parking can be a little weird, and it is hard to miss off Camelback but if you can find your way to the coffee shop you won't regret it!

I've been a fan of Lux for years, during college I'd go and study on their couches for hours! The couple of food items they have are all delicious and so are their craft cocktails! The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because of the wear and tear that some of their furnishings have gotten lately. Some sofas need to be replaced with new ones since they are showing signs of use. It just goes to show how busy this place is, so it makes sense. I'd still recommend this place, try their velvet coffee!
