I like this place. It's a sweet little eccentric coffee shop, the kind with character and stuff everywhere to look at. The service is friendly and the coffee is great. There are filling food options and pastries. There is a little outdoor patio, but the inside is a little small so keep your party around 4 max during busy times of the day.

Best coffee I've had in a long time! Came here for the first time the other day and was thoroughly impressed in terms of quality & customer service. They have a punch card which gets you a free item after 9 purchases, though I'm not sure what exactly. Very cute environment and ridiculously nice owner and staff. It can be a bit tricky to spot at first (you have to turn onto a side street, Heatherbrae, to get to it). They have a drive-thru, but for first time visitors, you'll want to go inside as they don't have a menu posted up outside. New customers also receive a complimentary pastry! ☺ Lovely place all around.

A very relaxed atmosphere with pretty much everyone doing something on a handheld device. They do serve a great cup of coffee. My favorite is their iced chai tea. The pastries and.. bagels pretty much always fresh unless its closing time but even then still pretty good. I haven't tried the other things on their menu food-wise however from the looks of it everyone seems to enjoy what they have in front of them. Overall a positive experience every time. Customer service is definitely something they do well. And it's in the Melrose district and right next to my dogs grooming place Wag n Wash.

If a place can't get coffee right when it's in their title I can't give them a good review. However the price was not too much and I would be willing to give them another chance in the future.

Just visited and HAD to write a review asap. If you've ever been to Milwaukee/lived/love Milwaukee then this will bring you right back. Original art work, a bike hanging from the ceiling and metal cash registers as old as your grandma gives this place the carefree grudge art vibes that are similar to walking down Brady St near one of our great lakes. And besides comparing this place to one of my long time homes, it's a different and eclectic experience that will leave you wanting more. Maybe it's just me, but I love small coffee shops that are out of the ordinary, are completely original and vibe with the inner artist.

My wife and I visited Phoenix over spring break this year, and swung by this place every morning for coffee. It was great, they included one free refill with their iced coffee. For the good coffee and great service, we would make sure to tip well with cash into their tip jar when getting a refill. On the last day of our trip, right before our flight home, I was reviewing our expenses for the trip and noticed a discrepancy between some of our coffee receipts and bank charges. Apparently, even though we tipped in cash, and selected no tip on the machine during the credit card purchase we had been charged $2.00 extra for tip on at least 2 transactions. Sure, it's only $4. But this is an incredibly dishonest business practice and I would have confronted the owner of the store about it if we were staying any longer in Phoenix.

Super cute & quirky drive-thru coffee house converted from an old gas station. You pull up to the pump, but it feels more like a bank. I was imagining my coffee coming thru a pneumatic tube into the antique gas pump, but a girl came up to our window. They offered us pastries since it was our first time there- that was a very nice touch, especially since I was in town for my sister's wedding that day!

This place has a great warm and comfortable vibe and located in the heart of Melrose. Plenty of room to kick back, enjoy a great cup of coffee, read or talk to friends. I recommend their Cuban sandwich. It's the tastiest sandwich I have ever had.

For my money there is no better coffee shop anywhere in the valley. Their espresso has a warm sweet caramel overtone to it that is quite exceptional. The baked goods are mostly simple fare: coffee cake, muffins, scones and such. I’m more into your snooty French pastry like eclairs, macarons, etc, so I would probably have never tried Copper Star’s baked goods. Except for on your first visit, they give you a free pastry. How nice is that? So I ended up discovering that their baked goods are all really excellent. Nothing I’ve ever gotten has been less that great. Also the atmosphere is really pleasant and happy, full of positive energy. My BF and I also met the owner recently, and he was incredibly nice, we chatted with him for over an hour and he gave us a free sandwich. It’s obvious how passionate he is about his work.

I showed up here on a suggestion of a business associate that I was meeting to go over schemes and dreams for future community development along light rail corridors and boy was I delighted! First I ran into someone I knew who was biking the area (bike parking) secondly I ran into some fellow localists that really push local business ownership (great local business owner culture) and third thing, it just happened to be my first visit so they revised me with a FREE lemon tart that tasted divine!!! The staff is friendly and unhurried. There is plenty of seating with options inside, in front and in back. There were even friendly little birds that came up to my plate and ate crumbs from it. I had a great experience here and planned my next business meeting there for next Tuesday. I recommend it.

It's a small place with a hip vibe. It can get a little crowded, but they have a number power outlets here and there if you need to plug in your laptop. You may need to share, or bring a powerstrip/extension. As for drinks, the espressos are solid and my favorite is the green tea chiller. It's a sweet fruity blend with green tea matcha that's addicting and not green at all. My only gripe is that the place can be freezing or too warm and they need to check on the restrooms more often.

Friendly stay and they have a nice selection of coffee drinks. Their mocha was great. They also have some pastries and I think they offer other foods as well. Fun atmosphere inside and out, like an old gas station. They’ve got outside seating with water misters to keep you cool in Arizona’s heat. Free WiFi, and couches inside. Some customers looked like they were working on their laptops, while others were socializing. Better than Starbucks, check them out!

Copper Star Coffee is a great place to eat, drink, and me merry! They have super delicious food options including my favorite, a hummus plate with warm Pita bread and veggies. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. If you love Chai, this is a great place for you. The blended Chai chiller is the best in town!! Visit and enjoy! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is mostly on the street but they do have a wonderful drive through window if you are in a hurry!

Just discovered this spot. I dislike coffee, my wife drags me here to get a cup for her. She orders me a cubano and says “trust her”. What I tasted was the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had in my life. Not too bitter, not too sweet I went down smooth and I wanted more. If you have friends from out of town that want to try a good cup of coffee. Bring them here so you look like a cool local.

Today we tried the 16 oz Lavendar White Mocha iced coffee & the 24 oz blended chai. They are fantastic. I asked the barista (I forgot their name), for their opinion on a sweet yet not bitter coffee and gave me a great recommendation. I was also told they make their lavendar syrup IN HOUSE. How fantastic is that? I had never heard of lavendar syrup until today. Both drinks were promptly done and tasted delish. Apparently, if you're a new customer you get a free pastry item.

This place was pretty good coffee place. If you're looking for a low key place, or just trying to get away from the sell out coffee places, this is definitely a place to try. They had some unique flavor profiles for their drinks, but it worked. Speed of service was definitely there, and they even had a drive through there. All in all, and great little place, service up some good coffee and bread.

What a great place to have coffee and maybe a muffin or scone! The staff are super friendly, the owners are interactive, and the location is pretty neat being that it is a former gas station. They even have gas pumps in the Drive-Thru! Of course, there's no gas in those pumps. The coffee was delicious and made absolutely correct. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone

I've changed my review from 4 to 5 stars. I've been here 10x since my original review and the food and owner are amazing. The place seems a little disorganized and sometimes it is. With that said, it's got character and that matters to me. As for the review, the bacon...oh the bacon. The BLT and the breakfast sandwich with bacon are stupid good. The cinnamon rolls are damn near perfection. Get it heated and then bathe in it. SO raves about the coffee. Owner goes out of his way to provide amazing service. 5 stars, I've been won over.

I love this place! I found this place about a month back and have come in 10 times so far each time has been excellent. The service is top notch, everyone that I've seen work there is super nice and the food is delicious! Not only do they have in house daily baked treats but they have actual food some vegetarian option are available too. They take all major credit cards and there is plenty of indoor and naturally shaded patio seating. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but they have drive thru service.

The Coffee is delicious. You ask for it and they know how to make it. The staff is very acommodating. The food isn't that great. They have dry cupcakes and bread. the scones and muffins just kind of all taste the same. They do however have a really good chocolate chip cookie. I go there to get my day going with their coffee, but I don't like spending on food from them. I gave them five stars because the coffee is that good.

Have been here 6 times so far when in town for medical appointments . The service has always been great: efficient and friendly. Good selection of beverages choices, baked goods and meal options, including gluten-free (muffins are great and will make sandwich fixings into a salad), and vegan. They have seating inside or out, and free wifi. I've stayed and worked online for 3 to 4 hours a couple of times and there is a constant stream of customers, which tells me they are doing things right! My favorite spot to hang out near St. Joe's in Phoenix when I need to kill time. Well done Copper Star!

I'm not a big fan of main stream/franchised coffee shops; I'm more of a mom-and-pop shop. My bro and sis-in-law are big coffee drinkers from Starbucks and Dutch Bros., but prefer this place any day. I ended up trying it one day and was won over. This establishment is pretty cool looking; it looks like used to be a gas station, and I'm pretty certain that it was, but still not sure. None the less, this place has awesome coffee with baristas that know how to make awesome coffee. Ever since last year, I've been a returning customer and recommend this place to anyone/everyone. Place is clean and cool-looking; the vibe is super chill and mellow; I like how you can drive up like in a normal gas station; and employees are super cool/chill, professional, courteous and have great recommendations for the day.

Someone said, "For my money there is no better coffee shop anywhere in the valley." I'd have to agree. Their Tea and baked goods are great as well. They never forget to stamp you, or give you new stamps, often 2 for one drink which makes your 5th one free. It essentially takes 20% off already a very affordably priced drink. Always had great friendly customer service. Definitely worth stopping by.

I have been coming here probably everyday for over a year now, and not only am I always blown away with the quality of the food items available there, as well as the delicious turn out of drinks I've tried, but it's mostly the staff that brings me back every time. Friendly, engaging, and overall pleasant, every single person there has always been a joy to associate with as I wait for my bagel. They remember who you are, they remember what you order, and they also remember the conversations they had with you which remains impressive considering the hundreds of people they talk to a day. The proprietor of the place gets down and dirty, working right alongside the crew. You couldn't ask for more in a local business. I can't recommend this place enough. Try both the Cubano hot coffee, as well as the Cuban sandwich.

This coffee shop has some of the friendliest staff in Phoenix Arizona. I absolutely love the baked goods here except for the muffins too dense for my liking. I love the green tea chiller without blueberries nice and creamy great matcha flavor and I suggest getting one of the breakfast sandwiches if you can snag one on a bagel before they're gone. the atmosphere is great and you can do work in there for hours.

Tucked away in downtown Phoenix I fell in love with this old gas station turned coffee shop. I felt instantly welcome as I was addressed upon entering. Their drinks were amazing, their service was quick and accurate, and I caught myself writing in this warm atmosphere for hours after catching up with an old friend. I can't wait to return. This cafe will be your new model for "local neighborhood coffee shop". I love Copper Star purely for the location, the staff, and people who call it home. The front porch seems to always have pups waiting for pets and treats. The converted gas station is a great environment for work, a visit with friends, or to watch the great staff in back baking their homemade goodies. I reason I didn't give them 5 stars is for their drip coffee, which I think is a solid but doesn't knock my socks off. Then again, you'll always see me with one of their cups drinking the coffee out front with my pup.

Best coffee I have found in Phoenix. The staff is super friendly, and the environment is really cool. They are in this little old fashioned gas station, and for the drive through you pull up to a retro style pump to order. And even more the COFFEE IS AMAZING. I recently started drinking decaf espresso, instead of regular, and most places it doesn't compare to the regular. Here, however both are fantastic in taste and quality. I just love this coffee shop!
