My favorite spot in town to grab a coffee and bite to eat. The service is always exceptional and very consistent. I know when I come here I get the perfect avocado toast!

Good coffee shop, high quality all around but the owner is a creep. He chats up my wife when I'm not there for lengthy periods of time in awkward situations telling her all about what a "Christian" he is. Then, not a word to me when I go in...I have seen him regularly leaning over women and chatting it up like he just cant help himself. WTF super weird.

The shop is very nice and vibrant with some great use of natural light. The staff was very friendly and on top of a small rush. I got an espresso and a pastry. Both were very nice. It does seem like the location is still trying to find its identity as a cafe or a coffee house though. They didn't have as many drink options typically found in a coffee house and the limited menu was a bit odd too. I can say they delivered on what I ordered and I will visit again after they have been open longer and get a better idea of their direction. I have high expectations that they will do well.

Food selection is limited, but tasty (avocado toast and quiche were good). I don't drink coffee, but the staff is very particular about consistency - measuring things very precisely, and my friends enjoyed. I can't give this place a higher review though because the service, while very polite, was extraordinarily slow. If you want to sit outside and aren't in a hurry it's nice, but if you are in a schedule I would skip.

Was so happy to find out this place serves Ritual coffee, my favorite San Francisco coffee! Such a good quality and great tasting coffee. The place has a bright and inviting atmosphere. The service, which I believe was the owner, was friendly and efficient - all the qualities you need in the perfect coffee spot!

Nice little spot in Scottsdale. Very cool design. They have a variety if milks: oat, macadamia, almond, etc. I had a cold brew it was perfect. They also have some lavendar drinks made with a home made syrup they make in house.

A cute corner shop located on 5th Ave in Old Town Scottsdale. Coffee is incredible, never had a better American in my life. Avocado toast is to die for! Haven't tried the waffles, but I hear great things.

Small and inviting coffee shop with delicious 3rd wave coffee. I only had drip coffee but would expect the espresso drinks to be good as well. The food looked good also.

A little hole in the wall coffee shop with a cozy atmosphere. I was hoping for a bigger menu as I was a bit hungry but I had to settle for avocado toast. It was reviewed as the best avocado toast in the area but I can’t say that I agree, it was average at best. I asked for the best drink they had and I received a sloppy cappuccino. If I decide to return I will come equipped with some lowered expectations.

Avocado toast was delicious, great serving size and very filling. Not a very large breakfast menu, so not too many options; however, the few options are very well made. Service is very warm and friendly. Decor is modern and cute. Nice little bistro chairs outdoors as well. Located in Old Town Scottsdale, it carries that same charm.

I love this place. The Baristas are friendly, the atmosphere is great, and best of all the coffee is amazingly smooth and delicious. My favorite drink is their Honey Lavender Latte. So tasty and not too sweet. I come here any chance I can.

Excellent little cafe near old town! We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast! The latte with honey was perfect and the quiche was light and airy. My wife had the avocado toast and also loved it. This is a must stop if you come to Scottsdale.

A friend of mine recommended this place and I easily see why. The aesthetics of this coffee shop bring a chic contemporary look that definitely is appeasing to the eye. The moment you walk to this place the ambiance is vibrant and cozy with a "small town" vibe. The baristas are very friendly and welcoming producing excellent service each time to customers. The owner, Johnathan has an infectious personality and warm smile to everyone. He takes time to genuinely know his customers and make sure they are enjoying their experience. His passion and drive for coffee is authentically shown when you visit. The food and drinks easily surpass other shops and chains in the area. The preparation that goes into every drink is a skilled technique being hand pressed and only using all natural high quality ingredients. Their famous Avocado Toast has me hooked for life hitting every taste bud. I highly recommend visiting this shop for any occasion as you will not be disappointed.

This is my favorite coffee shop in the entire Phoenix area. I’ve only tried their coffee and espresso drinks because they tend to run out of pastries early, though that was before they closed for 2 weeks earlier this summer, so maybe things have improved. Amazing interiors, good natural light, cute outdoor seating, and the friendliest people. Parking is a bummer, but that’s Old Town for ya.

Everyone's covered the bases about how the coffee here is amazing and the service is likewise as impressive. My comment is on their food, and, the avocado toast is the staple. But, the quiche - ever changing - is ridiculously good! Fresh, served hot, always a couple of pieces of sourdough and a nice small bowl of fruit. . The fruit isn't 'old' and wilted but always on point. I eat a paleo/primal diet - about 90/10 - and waiting to have my 'cheat meal' here is always worth it. Bon apetit!

Best avocado toast in Scottsdale! I drink iced Americanos and the espresso is great, too! The modern, clean, simple decor is welcoming and their small but fancy daily selection of baked goods look amazing. I overheard a patron commend them on how light and fluffy the waffles are and that they didn't feel like they overdid it ordering them. I highly recommend Berdena's!

Although I wish they had a more consistent espresso so I knew what to expect coming in (as they change it often, and I don't always like every one), I still highly recommend to anyone looking for quality coffee, tea and espresso.

Great food and drinks (especially the avacado toast). The staff is friendly an treats every customer like their first... Unfortunately that also extends to their organization. They have no idea who ordered what. In the 30 minutes I sat there, I don't think I saw a single order that went to the right person and had all components of the order complete. Worth a visit; bring your patience.

The coffee was fantastic. But there is an expectation that when you order a coffee and a latte to go, it wont take 20 minutes to prepare.especially if there isn't a long line. I was in a rush and this dampened my enthusiasm for the place.

I would give 5 stars if only the cups came in bigger sizes. It was so delicious, I seriously could’ve had two. I got the lavender honey latte iced whole milk. Highly recommended. My good friend got the dirty chia latte hot almond milk. The gentleman working created a beautiful flower on top with her foam. Made her feel special. Lovely touch indeed. All accompanied with a light and harmonious atmosphere. Cheers Berdenas!

Berdenas is a breath of fresh air when it comes to local coffee shops. Touting Best In Phoenix's Avocado Toast, this cool java joint goes way beyond my expectations. Their famous avocado toast was delicious and we are definitely coming back again! We also had an iced latte (great flavor profile) and a homemade cinnamon roll (we devoured it while we waited for our made to order toast). The decor is bright and cool, and the staff was rad! P.S. update: Berdena's now serves (the most exquisite) waffles (only on weekends) and today they had a homemade salted maple pie. Both items were top-tier and had my pallate resting on beautifully crafted overtones of sweet and savory. I was going to save the pie for later, but the subtle butter-toffee essences in the crust overcame my ability to resist. ENJOY!
