Little hidden jewel. Very nice patio. I would, if I ever come back to Anchorage, go here again for coffee and pumpkin cake!
Adorable store in front and a killer cafe in back! The fireweed glazed donut is UNREAL and my chai was delicious
Great place to read and meet up with friends. Huge tea selection. The staff and managment are really kind and welcoming :)
(Translated by Google) Great coffee and lovely cookies. Must be stopped for 20 minutes (Original) קפה מעולה ועוגיות מקסימות. חובה לעצור למנוחה של 20 דקות
Sandwiches need help but the old fashion donuts are tasty
Funky coffee joint. Good coffee.
Good food and atmosphere.
Best tea ever
I was told that Kobuk Coffee has the best donuts in town, and boy was I misdirected. These aren't the best donuts in town, these are life changing, your first bite is a milestone event. It's like someone took the feeling of pure love and happiness and somehow Houdini'd it into food form, fried it and dipped it in frosting and called it an old-fashioned donut. Maybe it's been handmade by angels, perhaps kissed by the Lord himself. Whatever they're are doing here, it seems nothing short of magic because I am completely under their spell. Proceed with caution, this place can ruin your standards on your donut quality scale.
Without a doubt the best old fashioned donut I've ever tasted!
Nice shop, great coffe and donuts.
Great coffee and pastry
Awesome coffee
Best coffee and donuts ever, but better workers.
Cute store, friendly staff, unique gifts!
Cute shop with lots of unusual Alaska gifts, great donuts and coffee and very friendly staff. A downtown find!
Best latte I have had in Anchorage. They also have amazing donuts.
Coffee was on point and friendly service!!
Love. It. Great staff and unique items to browse throughout. The spot to go for hard to find and nostalgic candies. The little coffee/tea/pastry shop in the back is tiny, peaceful, and delectable. They make their own tea blends, which are amazing, and the Samovar is unlike anything else. They'll get you hooked by giving you a sample when you walk in the door.
As a travel agent: This coffee place is outstanding and wonderful. It's cozy and makes a nice wintery day warm. Come taste the soup for just $5. It's filled with flavor & will put the warmth back into your tummy. The store is like mini mall with cards-food-clothes-jewelry-The Kobuk means devil in Hebrew and I just had to walk in and see what this was all about. I was told about the Alaskan history and learned the owners are Jewish. This store has hand crafted Chanukah art work. You can also find Russian art work and German-made Christmas ornaments.
Nice young women were very helpful in the coffee shop and gift shop. Thank you ladies!
Cozy, welcoming, and delicious! We read, colored, and enjoyed a special mommy-daughter date with sprinkle topped cocoa and fudgy chocolate cake!
Nice people with amazing selections of coffee, tea, and other various trinkets and souvenirs
Pleasantly Surprised: wanted "good" coffee following the hotel coffee. The coffee was great. They make all the concoctions. There is also a bakery with donuts & other on-premise made goodies. The coffee shop includes tables & has a patio with tables. What we did not realize was that in front of the coffee shop there is a wonderful gift shop. We enjoyed both so much we went at the front & back end of our trip.
Unique and quaint coffee shop that serves soups, sandwiches, snacks with your specialty coffees and teas. Gift shop too.
One of my favorite shops downtown. Good selection and prices are not bad.
Incredible donut spot!
Cute store with lots of fun stuff, delicious coffee and very friendly staff!
Rich and smooth espressos, excellent service, and super tasty donuts - part of an interesting and eclectic shop
Great place for break from downtown shopping
This place is crammed full of diverse gifts, candy, and fresh teas. Also offers a variety of cards.
Cutest little tea and candy shop ever. Loved this place ever since I was a toddler.
Very cool place full of unique knick knacks, coffee, and tea. You could easily spend an hour looking at all the interesting stuff being sold. Great place to find gifts for friends
cute place. Busy during summer. Quiet and cozy during winter.
This is a great place to visit anytime of the year but during the holidays its great.items from all around the world and. A great cafe. Great tea you can buy as little as an oz or as much as you want.. You must try them they are all great. The donuts are very good. This is with out a doubt one of the best places to check out.
What a great tea shop! The tea is outstanding!!!
I love all of the old fashioned candy and toys they have and the tea selection is great
Historical building, with character! As soon as you walk in, you sense the phenomenal teas & coffee immediately. Old-fashioned candies & newer & heartier things to sink your teeth into. Lovely trinkets, jewelry, mugs, to handmade novelties worth passing along the generations. My favorite place to get coffees, teas, & gifts (as a lifelong resident of Alaska) as well as my favorite place to recommend for residents & visitors alike. Truly an all sensory experience that is a must!
I did not expect to have one of the best donuts I've ever had in Alaska. Their fireweed donuts are amazing. The closest I can get to describe it is that it tastes like a flower, and is the perfect texture and sweetness. Yes, I am waxing lyrical about a donut. It was that good. Oh, and their coffee is great as well.
Buen trato.cordial.tienen una gama muy amplia de regalos propios y de terceros que son de buena calidad y no requieren un presupuesto muy alto. Las donnas tradicionales son muy ricas y el cafe que sirvan tambien.
Best tea shop in Anchorage.
Great tonight's and tea!
Are you in Anchorage for even a minute? Go to Kobuk and treat yourself to some doughnuts. The coconut donut was heavenly. Their old-fashioned, too, is perfectly crunchy on the outside with a fluffy cloud of dough inside. Glaze was the exact right balance of sweet and tangy. Wash it all down with some coffee or tea and you've got yourself a little slice of perfection.
Fresh homemade donuts.
Iconic downtown cafe. Great coffee, tea, unique pastries.
They have the best tea, quaint little samish deli, lots of cool nicknacks. Parking can be a challenge but worth the stop. We will be there again.
The best tea.
Nice coffee and kind stuff...
Awesome coffee shop! It’s actually a coffee shop and a unique gift shop combined. The coffee itself tastes really good, we ordered a Cafe Breve and the milk broth is very creamy and smooth. The gift shop is the part that kept us there for almost half an hour. So many unique and cute stuff to choose from. My wife ended up buying a lot of interesting fridge magnets. Highly recommend.
Great teas. I love the special Samovar tea. You can always get their teas on line, but if your event in Alaska, it's a joy to pass buy and taste. Wonderful staff.
I love this coffee shop. I can shopping home made products from here. I love good smell from herbal candle.
They have the best loose leaf tea!! Their free sample is awesome, it has cinnamon and orange flavor... mmm! They also have the cutest trinkets for visitors locals!
One of my favorite shops. Love their house tea.
Really nice little place. We went there for a school project (talking about it in Japanese), it was my first time there and I fell in love from the moment I saw the front door. When you enter the place, there are many cute collectables and souvenirs. A lot of handmade items too. As you continue through the store, there is a small cafe that makes the best spiced chai, I recommend the 16oz. All the donuts are hand made fresh and are equally as tasty too. Definitely recommend this place to anyone including locals and tourists alike. I've lived in Alaska for 10 years and didn't even know about this place. I'm glad I have been there now!!!
Everytime we come to Alaska we must stop at The Kobuk. The best tea and tons of stuff to see. Great for souvenirs
Friendly staff, Nina and Mike are the worlds greatest people. If you ever run into them youll see that they will go out of their way to help you out!
Love Kobuk tea. I have gone to their downtown and airport location. Unique place with very interesting tea options.
Great coffee!!! Tasty desserts too
Store had a lot of interesting stuff at s fair price.
The house tea is good. Obviously can't forget about the donuts, either.
They have lots of things to make you fat, but I love the loose leaf teas. It's a gift shop that also sells donuts.
So cute and friendly!
Great coffee, freshly made doughnuts. The staff was great. Trinkets in the shop for a good price and the outside patio was clean.
Very touristy but the fact it's on 5th Avenue it makes sense. Love the loose tea selection and the vintage style items they carry. Would think twice about bringing kids in due to all the breakable and low sitting items. I try to go down a couple times of year for great tea !
They give tea samples the coffee's really Immaculate and high-priced high-end but if your coffee drinker it's worth it there tea is pretty good they have a wide variety in the huge selection but most of it's Earl Grey with you know Earl Grey kind of stinks I don't like to personally but the cafe itself kobach is pretty damn on the money when it when you want to spend some money
Great old fashioned doughnut. Try the Samovar flavor.
Great donuts with mediocre service. Unique gifts up front for a price.
Love their tasty soups and homemade donuts. The lil cafe is at the far back of the store! I think this is one of the best gift shops for Alaskan memorabilia that there is!
Great beverages & food items
Coffee wasn't all that good. Did have a good doughnut fireweed glaze.
Quaint giftshop and cafe in downtown Anchorage. Scrumptious lemon tart, clean bathrooms.
Great atmosphere
The Kobuk is a little of everything that is great about Alaska: rustic, historic, friendly, charming, fragrant, delicious, and just a little Russian. Drop in and try their signature Samovar tea. It's too intense for more than a sip, but it's a great sip. Shop for European chocolate or handcrafted Alaskan swag. The real treasure is the cafe in the back. Artisan tea, homemade donuts, great Italian soda, and more. Sit by the fire or, if it's warm out, enjoy the patio. You really can't go wrong. Its the least tourist-y gift shop in downtown.
The Kobuk also known as The Kimball building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1986. Great place for Donuts.
Ottima fornitura di te super qualitativi. Piccolo bar accogliete dove bere un ottimo te scelto e mangiare un dolce fatto a mano da loro.
Great place to souvenir shop and get coffee and a donut!
Excellent Chai Tea! And great local spot.
This shop is awesome, quaint & everyone is so friendly! Has something for all your wants plus they serve coffee, sandwiches & soups of the day. Great experience!!
Awesome little place for all sorts of fun little knick knacks.
Wonderful kitsch!
The Samovar tea is excellent
Best tea, best candies, best coffee in all of Alaska. There may be others like it but none can beat it!
Staff are super friendly, great coffee and the donuts are to die for!
I live here in town, so whenever I visit downtown, I stop there! Walking through the areas small but fancy establishment, and of course, having some coffee or tea. I so, love the atmosphere! Excellent and friendly service too.
Wonderful tea and the donuts were great! Beautiful service, and cozy cafe spot in the back of the shop
A must for every holiday shopping list.
Best donuts I've ever had and a quaint atmosphere to boot! If in town, you should go out of your way to enjoy their pastries! Sounds crazy, but I even brought some back on my plane home - amazing!
Best donut house in anchorage. Great crew local artists work can also be found.have a very large supply and viritaty of teas
Nice selection of items. Went beyond the call of duty by calling a store at the airport to see if they carried the item I was looking for.
This is a quaint little store, filled with delightful trinkets and cute gifts, and a great tea selection. Prices are on the high end but the experience of the store makes up for it. It's an especially great place to go in the Winter time and grab a cup of tea with one of their freshly made old fashioned donuts. They also have a store in the Airport.
Always like stopping here for gifts, snacks and smoothies. There’s always something interesting inside this place.
These folks were great! Super friendly and helpful to me and my daughter. Stopped in because they were near to our hotel on vacation and want to come back every time. Good mochas and excellent donuts!
My mother and I visited last week , the staff was amazingamazing ,tea was delicious , and the items are wonderful. Will definitely go back again, or will order online!!
Wonderful place
Not your run of the mill gift shop! Loved it!
Awesome place. Many varieties of tea and coffee. Also had a coffee to go and it was excellent. The donuts are outstanding too. Definitely recommend
An adorable little shop that was a reliable place to go for great tea when I was in Anchorage in 2011. One of the reasons I'd go back!
I love the Kobuk! We only get to go a couple times a year when we venture down to Anchorage, but this place is amazing. For starters, they have the BEST donuts in all of Alaska. Just suck up the calories and grab one. I promise you won't regret it! Next, their tea blends are delightful. My favorite is the winterberry blend though most people like the samovar. They use essential oils in their tea and it makes the flavor that much more powerful. I LOVE it. Lastly, they have the CUTEST items in their gift shop. I mean if you didn't like donuts and tea, there's still something for you here. They have exactly what you are looking to bring back home if you are vacationing. Just the best gifts and trinkets for your house! Also, they have a full lunch menu with soup for those days that it's a little chilly outside. If you come to visit and walk downtown, you MUST stop in here!
Pricey, but a nice cosy place overall! Great for coffee and souvenirs.
Very popular place to eat in the morning, expect A-line. 0 healthy food and they have a lot of high fructose corn syrup in all of their sauces which will give you cancer. This is not a healthy place to eat..This is a good example of bad unhealthy food but good intentions. Music was amazing staff was amazing good location
Lowest price coffees in town, classic shop. Friendly barista. I grew up in Anchorage, Kimball's/Kobuk has been a fixture in my life for over 50 years. A classic store
One of the oldest buildings still being utilized in Anchorage. The Tea is great. The the store is well-stocked with trinkets. Keepsakes and one of a kind items. They also have an exceptional variety of candy which can be purchased almost to the singular piece. Fun store to visit.
Found this little gem serving full roast coffee. Very nice charming place.
Great place, amazing doughnuts and wonderful cute items.
Great old fashioned donuts with birch glaze
The old fashioned doughnuts were so good that I cried tears of happiness. This is not an exaggeration.
Always like the local shop. Lots of teas supplies
Place is very cool for tourist and locals alike
The BEST old fashioned donut I've had in my life- only $1.25 & pure goodness! Also Chai tea latte was the best I've ever had!! I'm still remembering the taste & loving it!!
What a neat little store. Although we did not get coffee here, we were tempted. We did grab some candy before leaving. The smell in the store is really nice.
(Translated by Google) It is a gift shop and crafts of very good quality, not only from Alaska but from several countries. With objects of the native peoples (they do not like the term "Eskimo", it means they "eat raw meat"), such as wood carvings, textiles, ceramics, decorative, etc. It is a small scale store very nice and fun.
Loved their donuts and got chocolate. Staff was friendly and the gift shop was cute.
Watch out for this tourist trap. Staff isn’t friendly. I wanted a handmade coffee mug so I bought one that looked decent and when I got home I discovered that they placed all their kobuk stickers over the made in China sticker. And the cup turned out to be pretty cheaply made. Go figure.
Oh the tea. The tea was wondrous. I do wish I had thrown out a piece of apparel just to fit their tea into my luggage. I will be back.
So many cute Alaska themed knick knacks, sweet candies and treats, and delicious treats at the cafe. The Kobuk is a must visit Alaskan shop with an amazing atmosphere.
