I always try to find where the 'local folks' eat when I am in a new place. Judy's is one of those places that attracts folks because of good food. I have been there many, many times. Cash only, always crowded, because of simple great food and fast, fast friendly and efficient service at very reasonable prices. I don't know how they do it, but I'll be back.

I cant believe I've lived near this place for about 4 years and just now came here. What a great place for family dining. Sat down and had some nice breakfast with friendly staff and atmosphere. Definitely will be coming here regularly now. Also bring cash only btw. I looked that up before I went and made sure to have cash.

They take cash or check and have an ATM for folks who forgot to bring cash. The biscuits and gravy was the best in the state at one time. Service is usually quick and prices are fair. It's somewhat of a small place so there is sometimes a wait. Portions are generous, the food is always hot and the service is very quick.

The chicken fried steak was terrible! My husband was excited because it wasnt a premade patty, but the tast and texture were awful!! The service was even worse.. The waitress played on her phone and visited with one customer at the bar. Took 10 min for her to come take our order which she brought and never came back to our table. We had to get refills and to go boxes from the guy filling the creamers and jelly at the table. I usually only give reviews if I like a place but this is one of the worst places I've ever been to.

Came here for breakfast this morning with my parents. The place is small and simple but really cold like they barely had the heat on. They only take cash or check which is a little inconvenient but not a deal breaker. Wait staff was nice but when the food was brought out by a different server than the one that took my order, it felt like she was auctioning off the food at the table instead of knowing who had what, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. My parents’ and sister’s food seemed alright but mine was disappointing. I had French toast and it was cold. So was the syrup and butter I had to ask for but I was hungry so I ate it. My sister said she heard a customer at the next table say his food was cold too. They were really good about keeping water she coffee filled though. Overall, I don’t think I’d go back and would rather drive across town to Jackie’s Place.

Awesome little place for breakfast. It doesn't look like much but the food was delicious and it came out quickly. The servers there were also very friendly. If all you want is a delicious breakfast without all the extra foo-foo, this is the place to go. Also, they only take cash.

Cash only. Judy's is a straight run American diner. They serve the classics burger, clubs, melts and breakfast. Food is simple and tasty, prices are reasonable. Friendly service. Decor is dated and a bit sad with bare florescent fixtures and Formica tables. Good standard diner.

Terrible we sat at the counter and could barely eat the food. Tasteless, even the toast was bad. How do you make bad toast?? We shared the chicken fried steak. I don't know what it was I just scrapped some gravy off into my potatoes. Tried to eat some of it. Sorry but if you don't know you can't fix it. So I suggest you try another cook or recipe

Southerners take note: they have real cheese grits! Great omelets & very nice servers. They are busy in the morning so I don't stop if the parking lot is full because of the limited seating capacity. Their counter stools are very uncomfortable. This is not a chic, trendy place but old fashioned diner with great breakfast. Take cash, they do NOT accept credit cards.

Well, Judy's Cafe is great. I've never been disappointed. This place is always busy. Enjoy the food and excellent atmosphere. I know that I will eat at Judy's again, and again, because it's one of the few places in Anchorage with excellent service and atmosphere for an excellent breakfast. Sat for 10 minutes and never even received so much as a glass of water. There was only about 7 people and they still never even made contact with us. As a long time server and bartender in the service industry there's just no reason for this level of crappy service. Maybe if I was white I would've at least got a menu. I would've given them zero stars if that was an option.

Took approximately 20-25 minutes to be seated. The waitress helping us was very negative and had a walk in her step as if she didn't want to be there. The owner, Lisa Bianco is very rude and her son Richard Lee Sanders, who plays as "Judy's Cafe bouncer" was very loud, rude and physically assaulted the dishwasher staff. Bathrooms were well maintained and the food was excellent! I highly recommend a new owner and partial staff replacement. I grew up with this place my whole life and it's being immensely dragged further and further down with Lisa Bianco at the helm.

The food was served quickly, but seating was an issue. It's a small restaurant so that is understandable. I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup, which is a pet peeve of mine at most breakfast establishments. Would give five stars if loitering customers were expedited. I saw a few people who came and left because a few individuals were remaining long after finishing their meal.

If you just want a local joint for a no frills, but delicious breakfast on the cheap... this is your place. All your normal omelletes and the bacon/sausage, eggs, hash browns, and toast. The hot links and the reindeer sausage are good. I have yet to have lunch here, but they serve breakfast late. Coffee hot and strong. Waitresses attentive and friendly. Cannot complain. I prefer going here as opposed to some of the touristy places in town. It is definitely more of a "shack" vibe. Keep in mind they are CASH ONLY, but do have an ATM inside. Been here several times and always leave full and happy. Imagine if I ate out more often, this is the place that would start cooking my regular when I walked in the door.

Amazing mom and pop type diner. They are a cash only, tiny and cozy, rustic-esque breakfast gem. I haven't even tried anything else besides breakfast in the 3 years I've visited, but I'm sure it's not bad. I'm from North Carolina, and they have grits y'all. :) Not runny OR undercooked, it's a southern miracle in an artic wonderland.

Just walked in to support local small businesses never been before. Sat at the counter placed a to-go order. Then watched one of the kitchen staff walk out of the kitchen with black rubber gloves on go into the bathroom use it, come out wiping his nose with a napkin and gloves still on and return to the kitchen and continue to prepare food. Never changing or removing gloves. Sorry I will not go back. Small place is great but keep your staff up to date on proper food handling procedures.

We shared a cheeseburger and fries. Requested they cut it in half. Burger was great. They have new frys (to us, haven't been there in awhile) really liked them. It was neat, clean and very good service. I took blueberry pie home and must admit I won't get it again. It was dry and tough. I'm thinking it might be premade. Please note.. tip on what the total would have been if we had 2 dinners. They work just as hard on 1 burger or 2.

Severely dissatisfied. First time here and they messed up not only my order, but other peoples order. The food was bland, namely the Country Fried Steak. Was like chewing in soggy jerky. And when we go to pay, they only accept cash or check, no sign posted anywhere stating this. Conveniently there was a ATM. Only redeeming part of the meal was the biscuit and pancakes. Shall not return.

Very fast service, not too crowded. Small space but its a cute little diner. I expected the food to have more flavor, not that it was bad, just wanted more butter I guess. The entres are kinda weird and disproportionately offered. Good for a hangover.
