I like the friendliness of the whole staff,I had the special which was the country fried steak and it was scrumptious-yummmm . There is a variety of home made cakes also. I wanted a slice of Hummingbird cake but I was too ful . I will go again and let you know about the cake. The cook is Hank,and he is a very very good chef so try them once and you will see as well.

Valentine's dinner wasnt a success at Howies. The okra was burnt and literally dripping grease. The chicken fried steak was hard. The mashed potatoes were ok at best. Will not visit this establishment again... maybe i just got a bad dish. The service was awesome though, the servers were extremely helpful and fast.

One of the best small town restaurants one could ever stumble upon, great food, comfortable atmosphere, very large portions, in fact the portions are so large that I was just set when I left and that is hard to do! I usually leave a restaurant still hungry, but not at Howie’s Cafe and that speaks mountains for me! Thank you all at Howie’s and keep up the good work and excellent meals!

Their sign advertises you get a meat and three veggies for $7.49. OK so I got two dinners at 7:49 each plus a piece a cake the lady told me was$ 2.50..... now I'm not a mathematician but where I come from 749×2 = 1498+250 = 1748 you add on the sales tax and I get 1887 my bill was $24 and some change I got to thinking about all this this morning because something just didn't make sense can anyone help explain? The food was OK did not taste like a home cooked meal which is what I expected the server , I don't know her name ,was very loud the restaurant was not busy probably won't go back

Always friendly service. The food is made to order so definitely no fast food here, but the quality is worth the wait. My family eats there regularly (2 to 3 times a week) and we have never had anything we didnt like. If you like down home cooking like gradma used to do then this is your place. Oh yeah, and one of the best breakfast joints in the area. If you eat nothing else there, try the breakfast.

Hair in my food when I told the waitress she pretty much acted like it was no big deal, offered no apologies nor discount on my lunch. It was my second bite when I found the hair, I will not be going back and unless you like to eat hair for lunch you shouldn't eat there either.
