By far the worst experience we've had at a Cracker Barrel anywhere. They weren't very busy but the kitchen clearly couldn't manage. Our server did a decent job and continuously updated us and apologized for the delays. When the food finally arrived, there were several items missing and my wife's food had obviously been sitting in the window under a heat lamp. She spoke with the manager about the quality and appearance and he apologized and offered something else to eat. Normally that would be sufficient but what she ordered originally and wanted replaced was out. This is one of their main staple menu items and they were sold out of it. That explained the plate of food she was initially given. The final straw was the incredibly disgusting bathrooms. Both men and women's rooms were filthy and stunk like that hadn't been cleaned for a few days. We were there for lunch, if that gives you an idea regarding length of time since they opened. The staff was very friendly and the manager did try to make things right, but overall, it just wasn't a good experience.

We usually love Cracker Barrel, but tonight's visit wasn't the best. We were seated promptly and the host was friendly. Our server may have been new, or maybe she was having a rough day. Our drinks were often empty and we had to wait about 20 minutes after we finished our meals for the ticket. The food was subpar, but edible.

Havent been in a long while so I decided to eat breakfast there today. Scrambled eggs with cheese were done well, as was the bacon. Sausage patties were nothing to write home about. Prices have gone up ($2.69 for a diet coke is ridiculous), and there is better food for less or the same money at several competitors down the street.

Great food, excellent gift shop! Delicious home style vegetables, entrees and desserts! The personnel here are attentive, friendly and accommodating. We bought a chocolate pecan pie as suggested by the cashier as we paid for our meals. So looking forward to enjoying this after our Thanksgiving dinner. Cracker Barrel always reinforces our thoughts on returning to this happy, enjoyable restaurant.

Mackenzie had the absolute WORST service I’ve ever received from any restaurant. Don’t be a waitress if you don’t like “working with people” as she personally told my husband and I. I went to get a to go order of some of that fried chicken I keep seeing commercials of, but after 10 minutes of waiting, reminding staff I was there and even seeing a manager, nobody took my order. I looked around the store a bit then left bummed. But I know this place is usually way better and the food is usually delicious. Well, what I've had before anyway. It's just the service was off this time around.

American comfort food. It is fast and delicious. I'm not a shopper, but I've found many unique items for family and friends. They serve breakfast all day, have daily specials, and the seasonal items are changed to keep choices fresh. They have ample parking but can get busy. If you are going during a peak time you can expect a 20 min wait. Sundays after church, it becomes a 30 min wait.

I had placed an online order, picked it up & went home; missing half of my order. The manager (Don?) & staff was SUPER nice about the entire situation & replaced the entire order not just the missing items, and I didn't ask for such. It's this kind of customer service that really stands out; YES it was a huge inconvenience but in food service sh*t happens (I used to work food) & they made it up, exponentially. Thank you for the amazing breakfast.

I've been here a few times and they usually have good service but the wait time tends to be a gamble. Sometimes you're in and out quickly, other times you wait 40 minutes to get food. Overall not a bad place.

I can only comment on their breakfast. It is really good food. The staff are always helpful. I would suggest the "country boy breakfast" if you are feeling hungry. My wife likes the pancake breakfast. I have never been to a restaurant with better pancakes. Also, the store located in the lobby is wonderful. I always find something I want in there. They have everything from clothing to candy.

I eat at Cracker Barrel frequently while traveling for the great food, fair prices, and warm old time feel and service. One this occasion, we decided to try their take out. We saw the 12 pc chicken picnic meal on TV so we called in advance to place our order. They asked what time would we like to pick up, and said it would be ready. We arrived on time, only had to wait 5 minutes for them to finish packing our "basket". I was amazed when they brought out a box with a carry handle and the size of an actual picnic basket. Inside everything was individually packaged and protected, including the quarts of mashed potatoes, gravey, corn, biscuits, Spoons, knives, forks, napkins, wet naps. This is a take out dinner that you can bring home with pride, or go straight to the picnic area. The food was hot, and delicious. This was a great experience and fantastic meal.

My wife and I were invited out and treated to a Sunday lunch with friends. I have never been before and found it to be a pleasure. I'm not sure we will return because it's not my wife's or mine style of food. There's nothing wrong it's just not our style. I did find wheelchair access to be a challenge, both entrance and exit is through a gift shop which I difficult to navigate without people, it was packed both entering and exiting.

One of the best Cracker Barrel restaurants I've been to in a while! The food was all the same as expected, it's the service that made all the difference. Hosts/hostesses and servers we all very friendly, pleasant, clean. None of them looked like they rolled around in the parking lot before clocking in. After a few minutes I noticed what appeared to be a manager actually helping one of the servers and several times saw him running food, filling drinks, checking on tables, and even bussing a few - I've never seen a cracker barrel manager do much more than hold up the wall while playing on their phone. This location gets it right.

Sat for 10 minutes before they took my drink order. The drinks didn't have much ice and the tea was hot. Didn't get much food was out of alot of the sides. I have been to alot of Cracker Barrel before by for the worst one. I usually love them but it was terrible. They apologized for everything. Also the food was not hot

The only thing that I'd change is the amount of space .. I'm a bigger lady and in a wheelchair. It doesn't quite have enough space for a bariatric wheelchair to go through the dining room area. and I would have appreciated if it would have had just a little bit more space. The staff however is entirely great. They're extremely helpful they move some tables around for me. they got me everything I ask for in a few things I didn't ask for trying to make me feel better about myself which I really appreciate. I will definitely be back

When you walk into this place it seems like it's just a gift store with different trinkets, toys and clothing but as you make your way around you realize that they have a huge dinning area. the host takes you to your table and a waitress rapidly is there to take your order. food comes out pretty quickly. quality is decent. the only complaint I have is they dont give you enough time to enjoy your appetizer or salad before they bring the main course which I turn you have to decide which of the two to eat. other than that we enjoyed the food and the hot cornbread/ biscuits and honey. most definitely we"ll return.

Great old school restaurant in downtown bessemer. Been open for over 100 years, that alone is a good reason to go. Always upgrade to the Greek salad. Snapper throats are the best in the state...if they have them.

Love this place ever since I was a kid and as an adult it is still fantastic. Before you check in or after you finished your meal, they have a mini store with an abundance of candies, toys, and will have something for anyone. On to the food. I loved the food and so did my significant other. Large menu with something for everyone. And while you wait for your food they have this triangle puzzle thing that tests how smart you are, it's pretty tricky. I had to knock one star off for the place not being the cleanest, but customer service was fantastic and so was the food so I will definitely be back.

We were sat in the back by the window around 7:20. We don't know for sure because none would tell me for certain when they sat us. We sat until 7:32, when a couple who was sat in the last two minutes had their drink order taken. We got up to complain and leave, when our waiter, a big tall young guy with attitude, walks over and asks if we still wanted to eat. I tell him no we are going to complain and leave. He said, real snarky, "okay great my bad. Have a good night." So while we are waiting another ten minute for the manager to come talk to us, y'all guy comes and clears his table, and I'm guessing that's why they couldn't tell me when I was sat. Doug finally comes out to speak to me, my partner has gone to the car already, hungry, and frustrated because we are right in the middle of a move to New Mexico. He offers us free food or to come back and get a meal on him, which is expected, but unfortunately they will not be able to make up for the lack of skills, as we're moving. If you are sat in the section of a big tall young man, I think his name was Brian, ask to be seated in another section.

I was seated with my wife and we were served drinks. Placed our order and didn't get food or even see our waitress again for almost an hour. Got up to go to the counter and pay for the drinks and the cashier got an attitude. Mentioned that we had been seated almost an hour ago and just wanted to pay for our drinks and she said "just go, maybe you shouldn't have come here if you didn't have time to wait." Little girl, I didn't have time for the chicken to lay the eggs for my food, so put the sass away and learn some politeness.

Ordered the fried chicken and it was way to salty for my taste. The brussel sprout-kale slaw was okay but the carrots were overcooked and tasted water logged if that's even a taste the corn bread was dry and cold. However, the staff was very courteous.

First time visiting I love it they really set the vibe you feel welcome by just having rocking chairs u can sit in outside and then enter being treated by all type of goodies I admit it's over prices in the store but they are items u don't see everyday so I get that..the food was wonderful the service gets 5 stars the wait was no existing I had a great first experience I will be taking my family back for my son's birthday I think they will love it..I went for a business lunch it was so nice I wished my family was there the first time I felt a little bad they weren't there and I enjoyed it but with great company. We wanted to make a reservation for 13 people we were told they cannot make reservations over the phone.. we showed up asked for table for 13 people was told to wait a half an hour. After ordering the food we got all except for two people's plates...while everyone else is eating we sat there waiting until everyone was finished eating. I was very upset as being one of these people that did not receive food after a half an hour of waiting!!! it's a little ridiculous to have the whole tables food ready except for two people!

The food was good, but the waitress forgot some of our food. We asked twice but never received our item. Her excuse was she was having a bad day and she was new. The table next to us was there before we were and never received their meal at all (we left before them). Definitely need stronger training for their wait staff!

I go here a lot and the last time I did the waitress was great but it took a long time to get our food and the manager was very rude that was working that night saying that they were short staffed n the kitchen and he didn't know what to tell us that we just need to deal with it like he was. In the past, this was one of my favorite places to eat! I can't Express how disappointed I was today. I ordered Country Ham, and 4 sides. The Pinto Beans BROKE when pinched, they were NOT cooked! The Broccoli was hard and cold, wouldn't even melt the butter I put on them. The Okra was hard, and the mashed potatoes were cold. Nuff said, I came home hungry and really disappointed.

We had a few misunderstandings with the kitchen and our food came out wrong. Our server Roe was so patient and kind with our complicated order and then when it came out funky she immediately fixed it and with a smile. The manager came out and instead of explaining with excuses he took everything that needed fixed away and made sure we were happy. I couldnt believe what a great staff they had all around and it shows why (the manager) thank you Roe for such a pleasant breakfast we will be back!

The portions and quality of the food were really sad. A huge disappointment. Front service and staff was VERY friendly however the food not only looked bad but also did not taste very good. Hamburger patties were definitely Frozen and thrown on a grill. The sad little piece of wilted lettuce and the small quarter size slice of tomato were very unappetizing. The bun was the best part. Portion of undercooked fries was disheartening. The four chicken tenders we're hardly one chicken tender combined. The portions of the sides we're very, very small. Maybe it would have seems like more food if a smaller plate has been used. We did not attempt to speak with management about rectifying the situation and elected to use this as a learning opportunity. This is a far cry from what Cracker Barrel used to be. The portions used to be generous and very appetising in appearance. I understand that the choice of food that evening was not the traditional food ordered at Cracker Barrel with gravies, jams, breakfast type items and country meats, however frozen is frozen fresh is fresh and most likely we will not return unless we need something from the country store.

Really depends on meal how it goes. Often it's cool in there so bring a jacket! IMO Breakfast is the best meal here. Quite a bit of food. Supper wasn't as impressive. Food OK but breakfast is better. Really need to replace the worn - dirty menus. I don't want to touch some of them. Appreciate the staff checks on you regardless if there table or not. They are friendly. If I could find a path to the door without going through 'store' and maneuvering all the people just trying to wait in line - it would be wonderful.

This was one of the most memorable meals I've had in a long time. Emily was our server and was very attentive. The food was SPECTACULAR. I had the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. The Steak was so tender and spiced just right. I picked the apples and grits for my side dishes, both were fantastic. The portions were generous, I had to bring some home. I definitely want to return and order the Chicken Fried Steak dinner.

Some friends and I visited the Dothan location. It was by far the worst Cracker Barrel I’ve been to and I’ve LOVE Cracker Barrel. The place was disgusting. Food was smashed and trash was on the floor every where. The bathrooms looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in a month. All of our forks were caked with dried food (not water spots) but literal FOOD. The waitress was friendly but the food was anything but good. Two of our friends actually got sick from the Ham and Chicken Dumplings. Just awful. Avoid at all costs!

I had the grilled pork chop and it was great!!! The sides were good, too. I had fried okra and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The service was great, also. I believe the boy's name was Nolan and he was very attentive and there promptly when we needed something. This Cracker Barrel is in Dothan, Al., off Ross Clark Circle. Thanks for a great meal and great experience!!! Love it!!!

The Sunday night special is the best so we always go on Sunday. We went on Mother's Day and the were really crowded, but they got us a table within 10 mins. Our waiter was great, he kept all of our drinks filled very quickly. It was a great night with great service and amazing food!!

their wait staff is utterly open to requests to build a meal from individual items, even if that combination is not on the menu. I don't mind if they need to upcharge for some of those combinations, and I let them know it, both verbally and by tipping additionally. As a person with an extremely restricted diet, I find that Cracker Barrels are about a decade ahead of the curve in offering food to those who cannot eat much of what modern humans consume.

I know they were busy but tables that were set 30 minutes after us got their food long before we did. It was dried out, apparently it had been setting waiting to be delivered. Our server was Makalea or so we were told. She didn't take our drink order or food order. We asked 3 times for water refills. We asked for a box & the check with no results. Finally had to get up & find another server to get the box & then someone else had to track down the check. She should be a host or cashier because she isn't a server. I remember coming here when I was younger, the food was so good! My experience this time was not great. Was served over cooked chicken tenders, got a new batch that were raw! Talked to the GM and he smiled and just took my food away. Was not offered any other replacement for food. I guess he wanted me to sit here and watch my grandparents eat. The server on the other hand was so helpful and amazing, it wasn’t her fault the food and management fell short. Will not be coming back!

We had a really bad experience a couple of months ago. Complained to Cracker Barrell Corporate. Told them we did NOT want anything free, just to get Dothan's location that maybe additional training. Tried it again tonight. Nothing had changed. Just like before, waitress did not listen, took our order and then immediately after she wanted on the people next to us. They got their drinks before we did, we had to ask for ours. Won't keep grossing, will say the course of our meal got no better. We will not be returning to the Dothan, Al again. Good luck if you decide to give them a go.

My special needs son and I visited this Cracker Barrel this afternoon. The staff seem to need some retraining on social etiquette. After explaining to one of the employees that my son was nonverbal and has autism one of the first things she asked me was if he'll 'grow out of it'. A common (extremely hurtful) question I tried to overlook. Then proceeded to ask me if I was an Anti-Vaxxer...strongly inappropriate question for a business setting, in my opinion. Then made light of her comments by saying she sometimes would like to be nonverbal too...adding on that she didn't want to make light of his PROBLEM. My toddler son was picking through the toys in the shop while she checked us out. He greatly enjoyed his visit. I, on the other hand, did not. I dearly hope that when he's old enough to understand this type of discrimination that the world will be just a little more understanding of people like him. Your staff needs retraining if they don't have common sense and a grasp of social norms. But regardless, I'm afraid we won't be back to this particular location again.

The food was absolutely horrible that I ordered it was the roast beef. I talk to the manager and she said that she would take that meal off the bill but in the meantime are you hungry for something else or can I get something else for you and I said fried Chicken so she brought two small pieces a leg and a wing. The waitress was amazing best one I've ever had her name was Danielle she did everything she could to make us happy. now back to the manager as we went to go pay our bill I was informed that we are being charged for two meals instead of one the front desk lady went back and asked about it and the manager said that she gave me a meal replacement two pieces of chicken is not a replacement four would have been I should not have been charged for that meal at all her name is Sarah and I will be talking to corporate very soon about the situation.

Had about a 10 minute wait as we got the just after 12 noon. Service good as always. Ordered the fried chicken salad which I would recommend. It was fresh crisp greens, grape tomatoes (fresh, juicy and delicious), cucumber sliced and grated Colby cheese. The blue cheese dressing was exceptional.

If you've ever stopped in a Cracker Barrel, you'll know what to expect; hearty portions for cheap, friendly service with stars on their aprons, and a unique storefront experience to pass the time. This location is no exception. While wait times can get quite lengthy (especially on the weekends), they do quite a good job at getting everyone seated and served in a timely manner. The food itself is always fresh and filling with a southern comfort flair - for the price, you really can't beat it. I'd suggest looking at their rotating sides (changes depending on the day of the week) and seasonal offerings!

I love visiting this place! There is a server there that is so friendly and always gets my orders right by the name of Kristina G. I ask for her every time I go there! She is the epitome of what a true Southerner is supposed to be. This place is always clean. If you are planning to stay awhile, bring a cushion! Cracker Barrel has the most uncomfortable chairs of any restaurant there is. It is really difficult to maneuver a wheelchair through there, but this is an issue at every Cracker Barrel. Patrons like to stop and chat in the main aisle and don't like to be asked to move. It is always nice when the fireplace is going and the lanterns are lit on the tables. It is an "awe" moment to sit and take it all in. The pancakes here are huge and filling, especially the pecan ones!

Cracker Barrel in Dothan, AL for Mothers Day weekend Lunch. Biscuits hot and fresh. The fried chicken meal was good. It was overcrowded and didn't seem to be prepared for crowd with staff and food. Server was nice but had a long wait for our order to come and some of our order wasn't right when we got it. Server too busy and unable to keep our drinks filled. Server also said it was about 45 minutes on some food because they ran out, so we just made do and made the most if the moment with family.

It has good and well prepared food if you are a fan of Southern cooking. Most of the meals are too much food for me so I order a la carte. On this visit I had a house salad with crumbled bacon and a baked sweet potato. The potato came with cinnamon butter. Yum, delish!. The items were tasty and presented well. Prices are reasonable. My brother ordered the fried chicken special. THERE WAS 4 BIG PIECES OF CHICKEN ON THE PLATE!! in addition, 2 sides and the choice of corn bread or biscuits. That is too much food for one person. So if you eat at Cracker Barrel, either share or ask for a take home box. There is enough for 2 meals on each plate.

It was CROWDED! It's understandable on Thanksgiving. The food was very good and didn't take any extra time to get out. Hannah, our waitress was awesome. She's very sweet. Maryann was wonderful to meet and talk to and so was everyone else. Whoever came up with holding your spot in line from online is a genius. It takes us about an hour to get there so my sister-in-law went online to hold our spot so we didn't have to wait a whole additional hour to be seated. We'll definitely go there again.

We ate dinner here this afternoon 7/31/19 with another couple. Our friends both had the meat loaf dinner and their proportions were so inconsistent. One had a really nice slice of meat loaf and the other had a thin slice. The food looked and tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen for hours...not fresh at all. We were so disappointed. Also, it was ridiculously cold in the restaurant. We even sat next to the window trying to be warmer but it didn't work. Our waitress, even though she may have been joking, but said some not too nice things to us. Overall it was an extremely bad experience for us all. We won't be back to this Dorhan location.

Needs better indoor waiting...store is too crowded to be comfortable. Also, fix your online reservations- i reserved, then was told it doesn't really do any good, and we ended up waiting 45 min, even though my online wait said 15-20, completely worthless. My best friend I enjoy coming here once a month and Desiree (cool glasses and light hair) took care of us so well. I wanted the banana pudding with my meal to try and the menu was very misleading with its new sides and upcharges. Crazy busy this Thanksgiving Night. Super backed up but the staff did an amazing job and with a smile. They made it much easier and faster. Good food but lacked service. Waited over an hour and then they called over the intercom and said our table was ready. We go to the host who tells us they just wanted to get us to come inside and it would be ready in a few minutes. Why lie and say it's ready if it's not? Finally seated and then it's another 20 minutes before the order is taken. Very poor customer service, which is unusual for a Cracker Barrel.

There is a certainty to most chain restaurants in terms of the food. The difference typically is found in service. That made the difference last night. Tonya was as good as it gets in terms of taking care of a customer and making them feel welcome. Of course if you come to this Cracker Barrel you only have a certain percent chance you'll get Tonya but if she reflects the general approach of the staff then this would be a great stop.

Saw the ads for fried chicken this summer, so ordered a picnic box to go to an evening event. Chicken was good, but there were no napkins or utensils in the bag (even though I was told we would at least get forks and napkins), the mashed potatoes were dry and tasteless, biscuits were semi-hard and no butter, and the corn was cooked in water with no seasoning. I was so disappointed! Not to mention the total was $36! Went to another event a few weeks later and got the same meal from King Soopers - it was really tasty for a third the price. Lesson learned.

Well this usually is a great place but today on the 4th of July I reserved a table for my mother and I. It said come in 30 min and see the host to be seated. So we came 15 min early talked with the host and she said that’s the right time only 15 more min to wait. So 30 min went by so i went up and asked the host she said 15 more min we waited a total of an hour and 15 min only to be told another 20 min wait. So we left and went to Denny’s.

So we drove 30 min to get there, and drove around nearby for another 15 min since we have two toddlers. When we got there, we were told that even with call ahead there was a 45 min wait. They need up address this.
