Loved it! Service was great. We had a large group doing a painting party and they did well checking on us, getting us food, dealing with our distracted request as we concentrated on the task at hand. And the food was awesome! Will definitely be going back!

Excellent food, but poor service (at least on the Sunday afternoon that we visited). We waited a while, then decided to get up and get our own menus. We then sat back down and looked over the menu for a long while, but no one came by. The place isn't that big. Maybe you just order at the counter? Maybe that's why no one has came to our table? Negative. Someone finally came by and we finally ordered. Our drinks came out in a longer than reasonable amount of time. The food came out shortly after and it was fantastic. Great Cajun flavor and spice. Try the hush puppies for sure. Sorry, but don't waste your time on the beignets. They're ok. Maybe they were just busier than usual or maybe the entire staff was new. Maybe it'll be better next time. I'll be returning for more hush puppies. They're delicious. One good thing is that the waitress missed one of our drinks on the ticket so I guess that makes up for the lack of service. Would go again.

8/11/2019 arrived restaurant - self seating drink order taken; it was 1030 and they were already out of beignet. We waited 15 mins and never approached by waitress. Customers arriving after us - orders were taken. Left money for drinks and left. Poor service - doubt we’ll be back.

Had a great experience for our first time! Came on a Sunday morning for breakfast and despite a decent crowd, our order was taken quickly and hot food was served about 5 minutes later. The staff was very friendly and they were quick to clean off tables for the next guests. I'm no beignet specialist but I thought they were delicious! My sausage egg and cheese biscuit was great, I suggest adding a side of their country gravy too (it's so good!) I believe they've worked out the new restaurant kinks- everyone who came when they first opened should give them another try! Yum yum!

Tried Beignet Cafe through GrubSouth. I love beignets and had no idea there was a New Orleans style cafe in Madison. The food was the worst I had ever received from GrubSouth. The over easy eggs were brown; the chicken fried steak breading tasted of old oil; the oatmeal had the consistency of soggy cereal and not like oatmeal at all. The coffee tasted watered down (McDonald makes coffee better). The biscuit, bacon, and fresh fruit cup were good. They do make good beignets. If all I wanted is beignets, I’d get them from here (get my coffee elsewhere). Update: GrubSouth & the owner did get back with me to apologize for the meal. I appreciated that the cared enough to reach out. The beignets were delicious!

Had lunch here with a group of friends today we all had breakfast items that were delicious breakfast bowls and dirty grits and beignets our server was great and very suggestive the manager was out helping everyone with a smile and greeting each guest the bus boy was friendly and quick with refills I recommend this place to any looking for a fresh meal and with great service we all will return and will request Eliza every time thank you

It was super busy when we were there so the staff was running a little behind and it took a while to get our food, but the food was excellent and the staff was nice. The beignets we're delicious, the crawfish etoufee was fantastic. My husband really liked his steak bomb sandwich, and the biscuits and gravy were great as well. We'll definitely be back. :)

We had a party of 6. Came in at 1:02pm. Place closed at 2, assumed we would have plenty of time. The waitress took our drink order and was told our 6th person was coming. Our drinks came and then our 6th person arrived. We ordered our food. My wife ordered the eggs baked, I had the shrimp basket with fries. Our 6th person ordered the country fried steak. Our daughter ordered the chicken with rice and broccoli. My wife’s food was not very tasteful. After we got our food (not by our waitress) no one including our waitress came back to our table to ask how things were or if we needed anything else. I did not get any ketchup for my fries, nor anything for my fried shrimp. Our drinks (waters) were never refilled and at 1:45 the staff turned off the open sign, unplugged the TVs, and started putting chairs on top of the tables. We were not the only customers left. My wife’s portion was extremely small, so she asked for another side and a menu was brought back out to her but no one came back to see what she wanted so she never ordered anything else. Our 6th person, my mother in law was never asked if she wanted a drink and her food came out 10 minutes after everyone else’s even though she ordered at the same time. The waitress definitely needs some training on customer service and the management should be ashamed to have their staff starting to close up with customers still in the building. Very tacky. We felt as though we were bothering the employees by being there.

Food is incredible the Benny cakes are the pinnacle of pancake and beignet. Staff is friendly. The gumbo and dirty grits and jambalaya are great the only knock is they have a tendency to lose orders. Avoid during peak hours and never go if you are in a hurry. Personally I have had 2 orders lost on me and after asking 15 20 minutes later it seemed clear that they never even started them . They apologized both times and the food was great but again never go for a quick bite to eat unless you go on off food rush hours.

Found this in my Google nearby places, was looking very forward to trying it! Had a nearby appointment that ended just ten minutes before close at 2pm... we arrived with just over five minutes to spare & found the doors locked & the place closed. Not sure what time they actually closed but it was well before 2pm as it's Just now two (after writing the review) and there's not even anyone in the place cleaning up! ●They should certainly change the time on here and on the front door! •I normally would not visit any place so close to closing time but we won't be near again until April so... maybe then we can give them a try & turn this 2☆ rating to a 5☆ rating!

Being from South Louisiana I can say the food was phenomenal! Well done! The service was great as well. If you are in the area give this place a try!

Me and my family decided to try a new restaurant today, they were out of several menu items including the banana foster french toast that was being advertised for taste of Huntsville week. I was so disappointed but we managed to find something anyways. In the middle of eating our meal the fire alarm went off and we were escorted out of the building. After standing outside in the heat for 10 minutes our options were, we could box up our cold stale food for the road or not and line up to pay full price for meal without any kind of compensation. We will never go back to Beignet Cafe.

I ordered cafe au lait with 2 beignets and dirty grits. The beignets were hot and fluffy dough pillows covered in powdered sugar. The chicory coffee with frothed milk comes in a wide brimmed cup so you can easily dip your beignets in it. The grits were good, topped with seasoned chicken and andouille sausage.

Our waitress Megan was excellent! Wait time was minimal. We ordered the Dirty Grits w and w/o the eggs and the French Toast BLT. The Dirty Grits were good, but the Chicken and Andouille Sausage were somewhat overcooked, non tender. Seasoned nicely though! My niece enjoyed the FT BLT! The Beignets were decent, but were not as great as I had antocipated. The addition of the honey and chocolate syrup was nice. Definitely not Cafe Du Monde, but they were good. Would visit again!

My daughter needed beignets for the French class at Bob Jones and did not tell me until the last minute like kids do. The Beignet cafe was open early at 6:30 am and I was able to run in and get some for her class before school. They were very nice, quick, and reasonably priced. Beignets were hard and greasy...not at all like normal beignets and they made my stomach hurt. Shrimp Po Boy was less than subpar and tasted like frozen shrimp. I was very excited to try out this restaurant and unfortunately I was disappointed. If you want good Cajun/New Orleans inspired food try somewhere else. The wait wasn’t terrible and the staff was very kind which is why I gave it a 2 star rating.

We have been here twice so far and the service is great. The staff is friendly and kind. The good is good. The con would be the portion. Order at counter for dining in and the cash register ask tip you would like to leave. Shrimp n grits lumpy, cold, warm, hot plus cheap canned or baby shrimp with light seasoning. Small servings. This is a par cooking fast food restaurant. Do not think genuine Louisiana. Not even close. Country fried steak par cooking taste prominent. Nice staff and atmosphere. No home cooking here. Great potential. Small servings, fast par cooking food joint.

I love the food but since they went from ordering at the counter to fill service I have had nothing but bad experiences. I have talked to the manager but the issue was dismissed as everyone is having to wait long for their food because of the small kitchen. This sounds like a bad business model to not have a kitchen to serve capacity. It also took us 30 mins to get our order actually in because the serving staff is young and overwhelmed.

I can honestly say this is one of the best places to get beignets in north alabama! I haven't come across anything on their menu that has disappointed. And the Bama fries and ranch sauce (literally tastes good with everything) deserve honorable mention. Definitely bringing my family from Westwego here next time they're in town!

Horrible food but decent service. Took a while for our food to come out. Waitress was nice and sweet! The breakfast BLT was cold and bacon was skimpy. Too thin! Biscuits and gravy was bland and sausage needs to be added. The regular BLT was cold and had way to much mayo. The strawberries and cream oatmeal was ok. The oatmeal had no flavor with the strawberry cream added. Won’t be going back. If you sell beignets and compare to NOLA then they should be close. This was very disappointing. Lived near NOLA for 15years. Maybe I’m spoiled but I expected better!

If you haven't been to Beignet Cafe in a while you're in for a treat! They've rearranged their dining room. Now with only one register, there's a quaint blocked off dining space. Drive thru pick up is still available and the food is great and flavorful. Be sure to ask what is in the choices you make so you're aware of the level of spiciness! Call ahead for those beignets so you dont have to wait. Or eat inside the wait staff is great, unfortunately, i cant say the same fpr management. They can be quite standoffish, rude and unsupportive.

I visited this place once and was not impressed. The shrimp and grits were subpar. Definitely something I felt could be easily made at home. I ordered the country fried steak and there was more batter than meat. My eggs were over cooked as well. The owner asked how things were when I was checking out and I was honest. She suggested I give the cafe another chance. The coffee was good though. This seemed more like a good place to grab coffee and dessert.

My boyfriend and I had to run the restroom to relieve ourselves after this awful meal. The eggs tasted like the grill had never been cleaned, the maple syrup was not real even though I asked, and the biscuit HAM gravy (which was not described as that) did not taste like it was made from scratch. I’ve been to NOLA and this entire experience was a far cry from anything I enjoyed there. I’m sure Hobby Lobby thanks you for your business.

We gave this place a second chance, and it wasn't much better than the first. The beignets are good, and the bacon and biscuit I ordered were good (or it would have been if the server had brought me the kind of jelly I asked for), the scrambled eggs were ok. The hash browns were not good - under-cooked - not brown at all except with grease from the griddle. My husband's fried shrimp and fries tasted like they came out of a pre-frozen package. The service could not be considered fast at all. Sorry, but this place is off our list.

Great little restaurant that emulates the famous Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. Serves beignets, oatmeal’s, French toast, eggs and bacon for breakfast. The Beignets were edible that is why a two star instead of a one star. I was born and raised in the greater New Orleans area. I have always felt that I sucked at making these, I am also giving this a two star because these beignets made me look really good to the wife and the in laws from New Jersey. These should be light and fluffy sort of like a donut, not flat and hard like a slab of rubber. I will stick to the Poboy factory for my home away from home food.

This is a fabulous place on a cold and gloomy day-- the gumbo was excellent (I shot a picture after a few bites). Lots of hearty chunks of sausage, chicken, shrimp. The beignets were fabulous- hot, chewy, and the powdered sugar melted onto it - yum. The Cafe au lait was hot, made with chicary, was a little weak (I prefer very strong hot coffee-- so it I took off .5 points ; should be 4.5 review, but that's my opinion others may like it more). Staff was nice. I highly recommend! Go try it!!

As a big fan of beignets and having family in New Orleans, I am very picky about beignets. I loved the ones from this place! I thought they were just like the authentic New Orleans ones. The ONLY thing I would change is that they add espresso to their menu, other than that everything is perfect: Amazing staff, awesome atmosphere, and delicious food.

My second opinion of this place is leaps and bounds beyond my first impression. We had a great waiter this time around, ever though we came in around close. We ordered coffees, a latte (that was good, but seemed a little watered down) and a cold brew (which actually impressed me, and is one of my favorite cold brews I have had) We ordered a few beignets with a chocolate sauce, and both with and without the sauce they were really good. I feel like there was too much powdered sugar on top, but with my wife not feeling the same, I disregarded that as just a personal taste. For our main meal, we both ordered biscuits and country gravy. The gravy was nice and warm when it got to the table, and the biscuits were great too. My only criticism here is that the gravy could have been a tad hotter, because after a few bites I ate a beignet and once I came back to the biscuits they had lost some of there appealing warmth. I won’t let that effect my review though, because that came down to me deviating and taking my time with the other items. The owner who reached out and personally asked me what happened deserves praise on being bold and not getting mad about criticism. She addressed our concerns about the food and server for the day, and was very quick to communicate a solution and second chance. I’m glad I gave a second chance as well. They have a lot of ironing out to really maximize there effectiveness, but I now see a lot of potential here.

This my first trip here and won't be my last. I had the seafood platter and my wife had the steak bomb sandwich. We also had crawfish hushpuppies. Let me tell you that was the best fried seafood platter anywhere in the Huntsville area. The hushpuppy sauce they have I would eat off a flip flop... The sandwich my wife got was fantastic. Oh dont forget to get a beignet while your there, they're fantastic. Nothing was swimming in grease like most place you get fried food. Oh and need the catfish breading recipe. Best catfish I've had in awhile.

Me and my husband had dinner for the first time and it did not disappoint, our server angel was friendly and attentive even the manger was so sweet and fixed my dark not burnt but a little dark craw puppies immediately and checked on us again before we left. I just recently tried Beignet Cafe in Madison. The beignets there was as good as Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. The atmosphere is very nice also. I definitely recommend anyone checking out this hidden gem.

This place was terrible. It took us nearly two hours to get in and out. When we came in there were two open tables, the staff gave us menus and told us to sit on a bench while they cleaned it off. While we were looking at the menus, they gave one table to someone else, pretty much forgetting they had four people sitting at the front of their restaurant. We just sat at the other open table before someone else snagged it. When our waitress finally came over, we ordered beignets and coffee. Both took 45 minutes. (COFFEE. 45 MINUTES. UGH.) The beignets were decent. I ordered the breakfast plate with a side of bacon. When it arrived, it came on some sort of plasticware/Dixie plate, it looked incredibly unappetizing. The only thing that was cooked decently was the bacon and eggs. The hash browns were cold and tasted slightly burnt. The biscuit was definitely from a can. I would not come back here or recommend.

I love this place. It was everything my family was looking for. Food was delicious- - - even my picky eaters enjoyed it. They cleaned their plates. Atmosphere was great, staff was excellent and prices were extremely reasonable for the portions. Will most definitely be visiting again.

Took well over 30 minutes to get our food. I ordered the fried oyster basket with fried okra. The oysters were definitely not fresh -- they tasted super fishy. I ate three of them and that was too many. The fried okra was good. My husband had the peanut butter banana french toast and said it was just ok. The other couples we were with seemed to like their food ok. The beignets we ordered were overdone and had no taste.

By far my favorite place to eat!! Not only is the food amazing, but the staff is on point. They have some of the nicest, most personable people working here. I have never had a bad experience at either location and 15/10 recommend!!! You will NOT be disappointed, I guarantee it!!

One of our favorite places to visit. Staff is always welcoming and the Manager makes sure that we are pleased with everything. My favorite is the Big Easy and my husband is a fan of the Dirty Grits. If our Granddaughter is with us, she has to have the French Toast. Beignets are on point. Love this place. So glad they came to Madison.

This is a very cozy little spot and the food was pretty good. It is a pleasant treat, we had breakfast and the food was fresh and didn't take long to receive our orders. I can definitely see myself going back for another visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

It may seem doubtful to get great beignet’s outside of the big easy, but this place is the real deal. The beignet’s are consistent and are messy as they should be. If you need some coffee they offer the Cafe Du Monde brand to accompany the beignets. If you are also in the mood to actually eat because you are hungry, then the Cajun fare will make you feel right at home. Stop on by and bring some napkins as it messy, but authentic in its taste!

Stopped in for lunch. This was my first visit here. I had an idea of what I wanted to ordered, but I asked my waitress what she recommended. She nailed what I was eyeing in the Crawfish Etoufee. I got that and later ordered some beignets. The food was great and the service was really good.

Their Beignets are very good But that’s it! The jambalaya is awful if your wanting a traditional sticky full flavor dish this is not it! Shrimp and grits taste bland too , not a creamy rich flavor ! they taste like and instant box of grits ! Let’s move to the red beans and rice the dish taste as they poured a can of beans over uncle bens rice, red beans and rice the beans should half be a bit mushy from cooking them down for a while with a rich dark color , I believe they need a food tour of NOLA to realize they are failing massively ! don’t waste your money at this subpar restaurant. I travel to New Orleans quite often this is not Cajun cooking ! I was really sad I was hoping for restaurant in Huntsville for Cajun food but nope ! Don’t waste your time and money ! Unless you just want beignets

Such an amazing experience! I loved the food but I absolutely adored the staff and the environment! I can't remember my waitresses name but she was so friendly. The atmosphere was one the of the best. I enjoyed my visit so much and will most definitely be going again!

I'm sad to say my experience at Beignet Cafe was not a pleasant one. Expecting a wait, since the restaurant just opened, I wasn't surprised when the lady taking our order said it would be 30 minutes before we would receive our to-go order. I was surprised however, when after waiting 30 minutes a girl came over and told me they were out of the egg dish I ordered. I then had to go to the front counter and wait for the manager to refund my missing portion of the order before returning to my seat for an additional 15 minutes to wait on the remaining order. When the order did come, it was missing my cafe au lait, so another wait ensued. Hopefully the management will be receptive to customer experiences and make the necessary adjustments.
