Would never think about using another company! I have used this company many times for various tasks including: remodeling the first floor of my home (moving walls, painting, new flooring throughout, replacing all my windows), painting the exterior of my house, fixing my porch, replacing all my gutters and most recently they saved me on Christmas Eve when my sewer backed up in my basement! They have always been there for me when I needed them most. Every job has been done very professional and everyone I have talked to has been very knowledgeable in their field of expertise.

We suffered significant water damage to various floors of our home. Called Panhandle because we are limited to nearby choices and believed they’d be equipped to best handle the job. Started out with prompt response. Stayed on top of knowing progress and arrival time. Towards the end we were left not knowing when they’d be back or if they’d be back and their supervisor was unreachable. Went through some steps to dissolve the problem and they eventually sent employees to make sure everything was dry, trash was hauled away, and their equipment was removed. At first we considered contracting them for the restoration process because we felt the two workers who did our demolition/cleaning phase were polite and professional but in the end decided against Panhandle because we feared they might not consistently show, might take longer than needed/desired, and might send different crew members each day. Panhandle seems to assign workers to jobs and then spontaneously pull them off the job, put them on a different job, and assign new workers to a job previous workers were doing. This company also seems to be spread thin across the area they cover. My recommendation: If you are seeking them out for cleaning up damage they’ll probably get the job done and they have the equipment to complete it successfully. Tip-stay on top of knowing what they finish day to day, when they’ll be arriving the following day, etc. Beyond damage clean up I’d be hesitant because of job length completion and showing up to work on a daily basis.

I absolutely loved my bathrooms that Panhandle remodeled. However within a couple months one of the medicine cabinets began to rust. On August 11, 2015 I notified Panhandle. At the end of January 2016, Bob Sr. came to my house and assured me the cabinet would be replaced. After numerous phone calls, they finally came to replace the cabinet, over 18 months after I was assured it would be replaced. They ordered the wrong cabinet and had to take it back. It has been 8 months since and I still have a rusted medicine cabinet that I have to look at everyday and evening. A company that takes over two years and still has not followed through on their promises is not a company I would recommend.

They took 4 months to do a small job that my husband ended up finishing. Try your best to find an alternative company.

They had to clean same carpet twice, didn't move furniture , broke a utility shelf and didn't inform me.

Worst experience I have had with any contractors. Late to meet appointments on three occasions, constant delays, failure to communicate what work has been/needs to be done, and far to expensive for the lackluster work that was actually done after 3 months of nonstop fighting with them. Talking to other contractors that I hired to do work they informed me that Panhandle has a reputation for this kind of behavior and they have often had to fix problems they leave behind. Due to their untimeliness and thoroughly un-professional behavior, I had to reschedule much work from these other contractors because of the constant delays from Panhandle. A simple 1 day job turned into a 3 month ordeal with this horrid company. Avoid at all costs, don't let them burn you as they have burned me. A thoroughly unreliable and shady organization,

Recommend not using this company. It took advantage of a bad situation to profit itself. Overcharged ridiculous prices, did poor quality work, and took way too long for a job that was never completed correctly.

Very Slow and make unnecessary mistake extremely prolonging the job!

Kept increasing the cost estimate (started at 1800, then 4500, then 8100), took deposit, and 4 months later, still 0 work done, and now having to threaten to take them to small claims court just to get deposit refunded for work they never showed up to do. Use ANYONE else for any work you need done.

One of the most community minded organizations I have ever seen. Always looking for ways to help support others. A great success story that has been doing fantastic work for more than 40 years in the service industry. Way to go Panhandle. My only call for any cleaning / restoration needs for myself, family and friends!

I'd give a 0-star rating if I could. Panhandle are consummate scam artists. They are dishonest, untrustworthy, greedy, deceitful, unethical, unprofessional, unscrupulous, and the most despicable ghouls I've ever personally dealt with. In February 2019 a windstorm damaged a small portion of my roof, tearing off shingles from an area no more than 6ft by 6ft. I immediately called my insurance agency, who recommended, given a $500 deductible, having someone perform an emergency board-up and provide an estimate for full repair before filing a claim--the idea being that if the area affected were small enough, repair work might not even meet the deductible. Not knowing who to turn to, I asked for a recommendation, and the agent I spoke with unfortunately recommended Panhandle to me. On 27 February I called Panhandle at 9.30am; shortly after 11am, two individuals arrived on behalf of Panhandle to install the tarpaulin, and within 20-30min the job was complete and they left. It was then TWO MONTHS LATER that I finally received a bill from Panhandle--not a free estimate for full repair as was promised to me when I first called, but only a bill for the board-up--for almost $1,500. Moreover, the bill provided no details whatsoever as to a breakdown of costs and charges, only "taxable" and "non-taxable." (If this already sounds like a transparent attempt to arbitrarily invent numbers to grab as much money as they can, you're absolutely right. Read on.) Of course I contacted my insurance agency again to file a claim. An insurance adjustor came to my property, and sent me an estimate: board-up, labor, removing old shingles, replacing with new shingles, total cost: $729. On the phone with Panhandle again. After sending their adjustor the insurance adjustor's estimate, they agreed to reduce their bill to $729... but insisted, despite obvious language to the contrary, that the insurance estimate was only for board-up. After 2 more months of going back and forth between my insurance company and Panhandle, including phone calls from Panhandle's corporate office in Wheeling and some yokel who hounds consumers about bills but apparently knows nothing about those bills, things came to a head and I spent an entire day on the phone back and forth once again between Panhandle and my insurance to try and come to a sensible agreement. During this horrible day I learned the following things: -Panhandle's breakdown, on their own computer, of the $729 that they "ever so graciously" had reduced the bill to, included $30 for the tarp, $193 for "emergency fee," and $580 for labor. Nevermind that the two individuals were at my property for a grand total of 30min at most, during the late morning and what are, by all accounts, normal business hours. -Panhandle refused to provide me with this detailed breakdown for my own records, stating that to give information like that out to consumers would hurt their business. (Gee, I wonder why?) -My insurance indicated that unfortunately, since the contact between Panhandle and I was a contract, there was nothing that they could actually do to help me - they could (and did) try to talk sense into Panhandle's adjustor, but at the end of the day they could (and did) bill me whatever they wanted. -In effect, I'm out more than $700 *just for a 30-minute board up and a $30 tarp,* and my roof still needs to be fully repaired. A repair which I will have to pay entirely out of pocket since the very reasonable estimate provided by my insurance company, and the payment exceeding my deductible which they provided to me, covers only the amount that Panhandle, that I was unlucky enough to be duped into contacting, has swindled from me. I hope it was worth it--I hope Panhandle is happy with the $729 they conned from me, because if they had treated me honestly, fairly, and reasonably, I may well have contacted them in the future for other jobs. As it is, they'll never get another cent from me, and I'm doing everything I can to ensure everyone knows just how awful a company they are. AVOID PANHANDLE AT ALL COSTS.
