I was immediately impressed by Jefferson Housekeeping's professional website where I got an estimate in under 5 minutes. Making an appointment was painless, and Nathan worked with me to accommodate my busy schedule. The cleaning service is great, too, and my place was sparkling by the end. They're definitely perfectionists, and it was very clear to me that customer satisfaction was a high priority. I would definitely recommend!

Update: The owner, Nathan, contacted me over my disappointment with the service in response to an email, not because he saw this review (originally 2 stars). Nathan explained that he wanted me to be happy with the service and was willing to make corrections. He was willing to send people to correct the chrome work in the bathrooms, for example. I advised that the company's estimates should include man-hours if they are going to be basing the final bill on man-hours. Also, the estimate is given in email in a link form, which, when updated with the final bill, the original estimate is replaced. Finally, I suggested his company communicate better (or at all) why the original quoted estimate was exceeded. In my case, the house was near immaculate before it even got cleaned, and then, as mentioned, the chrome work was not done in at least one shower (covered with soap scum). Nathan amended the amount charged and, in appreciation, not a quid pro quo, I advised that I would amend this review because contacting a disappointed customer is good business practice. Original review: Charged over quote. Reason given was they sent 3 workers instead of 2. So, what if they had sent 20 instead of 2? Why is that my problem? Also charged for work not done until called on it (refrigerator cleaning was quoted, but not needed). Reason it is not one-star is my wife was pleased with the oven cleaning, but brightwork in bathroom was not even done. Also, unprofessional billing asking for credit card over the phone instead of mailing an invoice. Wish I had seen the other 1-star reviews. Obviously won't be using again.

I love this service, i have three women come and clean my house. Everything is Spick and span and such a joy. I have been very sick and could not so the cleaning myself, not only did they clean everything, but their kindness and care have been wonderful. I totally recommend this service you will love it.

Not a good experience. This ordeal has been so stressful. Jefferson Housekeeping has been to my mother's home four times and it is not clean. Did a walk-thru with the branch manager and pointed out many areas that were still dirty. I was told that the crew does not sweep unless there is a broom available. Blinds, windowsills, floors dusty. Was told that Nathan does not allow the crew to use a damp rag on the blinds. Estimate was $355.00 and was actually billed $390.85. Absolutely not worth it! Have made several requests to speak to the manager with no response. Beginning to wonder if he actually exists. The website boasts "satisfaction guaranteed". After four visits, I am definitely unsatisfied and will not be satisfied until I get a refund so that I can hire a cleaning company that actually cleans!

I used Jefferson house keeping for moving out cleaning since it is recommended by the property manager. However the result was terrible! They didn't come on time. The cleaning was not professional. And they charged me extra money. I made an appointment for 9 am, but nobody showed up and there was no notification. I called the company and the manager said the crews would come around 11 am. I wait until 11 am they still didn't show up. The time when three crews arrived was nearly 12 pm. Again, no notification. I had to go out for lunch when they was cleaning because they delayed so long. When I come back, after about one and half hour which was the estimated time in quote, they almost finish cleaning. Before they left, I step in and check the result. I saw oil and grease still on the surface of microwave and kitchen counter top. I saw the dirts still in the bath tile. I saw spider web still on the window and doors. That was not something I'd expected. On the company website the founder said they founded the company because the cleaning service in Charlottesville is not good and they want to offer better services. I believed in their words and trust them. However the result was so disappointing. Maybe because it is a one time cleaning so they just didn't care at all. Finally, they charged me extra money. The three crews worked for at most two hours. I had one of them come back for several minutes to wipe the grease in the kitchen and the diets in the bath floor. ( It only took a few minutes for one crew to clean this yet they didn't do it until I pointed it out!!) The other two crew just stayed in their vehicle. Before they left, I asked if there is any sign off sheet or how to pay the fee. They said the company would post the the cleaning fee to me. Again, no notification about the charge until I checked my credit card statement and found the charge. Although the estimated the hour was 1.5 hr and the manager said in the email they would keep the working hour under it, I was charged for a 2.3 hr cleaning which was more than a hundred bucks extra. I argued with the manager and she only will to refund me 25 bucks. If the service is better, I might accept it worth the extra money. However, with the low quality result, I am quite angry about the extra charge.

Jefferson Housekeeping is absolutely fantastic, I'd recommend it to anyone. We hired Nathan for our move-out/move-in service, and he was extremely accommodating to both my schedule and my budget (which is honestly, impossible). He came early in the morning to be sure our house was spotless by our move-in time mid-day, and with no team, he cleaned two entire floors of living space. He restored the old house’s character, and made it shine! Nathan made my entire moving experience much less stressful, and our house much more beautiful! There’s something to be said about working with smaller, local businesses; Nathan puts his client’s needs first and it certainly shows! We could not have done it without him and we are so grateful to have Jefferson Housekeeping in Charlottesville – will definitely call Nathan again for any cleaning needs. If you have to move, Nathan’s the man to call.

Stellar Remodeling & Design

We needed a trustworthy and reliable cleaner as soon as possible. Blue Hat was quick to respond so our client could have their house back after some floor remodeling. We appreciate their quick and efficient response on a Friday afternoon at 4pm. The cleaning crew did a wonderful job that Saturday. Our client was happy and satisfied. Thank you Blue Hat!
