I called and setup a request to have someone take a look at a slow draining issues I had. Everyone confirmed dates and times. Got a call day before saying they were sending someone out.. Got a call that morning from CJ and Dan, that they were on their way. They showed up on time. We walked through the issues I was seeing, and they presented a plan to fix, and they were upfront on price. Everyone agreed, and agreed to any work that was planned before they got started. After about 30-40 minutes they had identified the drain issues, cleared the problem, did some testing and everything seems to be great so far. Quick, efficient process. Pro's all around.

This was the third time Roto Rooter came to my condo, and once again I was thoroughly impressed with the service. CJ (tech #53) was great, he arrived early, and did his best to quickly complete the job despite his phone ringing every fiver minutes with another call. He clearly had a very busy day ahead of him, but made sure to double check the work before he leave so that he could make sure the job was complete and no other issues would arise. And the fact that he came on a Saturday to install a dishwasher was really great!! I will definitely reach back out to Roto Rooter again.

We had a major problem with our septic system. Corey found the first clog quickly and cleared it. He then helped dig up the D box, cleared it, and found the original installers had cracked the cover of the D box. He let us know that if we had followed the advice of another company we would have ruined our leech field and had to put in an expensive mound system. Corey was knowledgeable, easy to work with, never complained and had no problem doing the work involved, even though it was a hard job on a hot day. His advice and service got us up and functioning smoothly again, at a fraction of the cost we were expecting.

It was a Saturday and our tub and washing machine were both clogged. Our tech Robby was wonderful from start to finish. He engaged me on the phone to make sure his visit was necessary (to prevent us getting a service we didn't actually need). Once he arrived (within 25 minutes) he immediately began to ask questions and determine the best and cheapest way to resolve our issues. He was very upfront with all pricing. Overall, Robby was professional and honest, and he handled our issues in a likewise manner. I would recommend him to anyone.

We've had problems with our main line backing up into the basement for all 10 years we've owned our home. Lately, we've had to have the line cleared every 10 - 12 mos. because of tree roots. Called RotoRooter for the first time, and they were great. Not only did they clear the line, they put a camera down there to show that it was clear all the way to the city line. They found that one section of pipe has settled and needs to be replaced. They ran a trace to show exactly where the line runs and where the problem spot is. This will make it WAY easier to deal with when it comes time to have the line replaced. Other than being a little pricey, I don't see how they could have done any better!

The technician, Corey, was professional and friendly. We didn't know exactly how the exterior drain was plumbed, so he spent a bunch of time figuring that out. Once he did, found that the drainage pipe was incredibly clogged through its entire length (over 100 feet), and he didn't leave until he was sure that it was entirely cleared. He took the toilet off and he sent a scope down the pipes and found there was roots in my pipe. He then took care of the issue with a long recoiled thingy and put the toilet back on. Informed me a piece on my toilet was warn out and gave me the info for the part. All in all no more clogs and gurgling!

Nothing but good things to say about CJ & RotoRooter. I noticed a wet spot on my kitchen ceiling on a Sunday morning. I called RotoRooter expecting to leave a message and hear back from someone the next business day. My call was answered immediately and I was told I could expect a call back from the tech on call. CJ called back within 30 seconds and told me he would be at my house 20 minutes later. Not only did CJ arrive exactly when he said he would, he diagnosed & corrected the issue (leaky tub in the bathroom above) within the first hour. Fast, efficient, friendly & knowledgeable. I am changing the content of my review, to provide an update. I am leaving the two star review because the communication procedures remain unchanged. I do not agree with or like the practice of not telling clients that they provide free estimates, because if I had been told that I would have asked what it was going to cost and refused service (since the repair was simple, wouldn't have taken a plumber to fix it and we could have done it ourselves in five minutes). I also do not like that the practice of this location/business is not to disclose their minimum charge. Because no one had mentioned free estimates, or told us what the minimum service call price was (or told us that the charge is the same for an emergency call as it is for a scheduled call), we assumed we already had to pay for the service call and also assumed the price would be much more reasonable for 40 minutes of service. The plumber did a respectable job, but he was here for under 40 minutes. Charged $250 for labor, $15 for parts. Did not tell us what any of the charges would be before he started. I called our local Roto-Rooter office about the charge and got three different answers during the same phone call. 1) our prices went up in August (my son had a Roto-Rooter plumber on site for 2 hours and was charged, including parts, $230 on Aug 28), then "corporate sets our rates, we don't have a choice" and 3) we charge all calls, emergency or not at emergency prices. Originally, when I called three days ago I was asked it it was an emergency. I said it was not an emergency, assuming there would be a different charge for an emergency call. It took me three tries to get a call back/schedule an appointment. Then they called the night before and changed the time, and then they called that they would be late this morning. turns out there is a $250 minimum labor charge for a local, scheduled house call. And the business practice is not to provide the prospective client with what the minimum charges is is, in my opinion, not a good one. The owner agreed that we should have been told, before repairs started, what the cost was going to be. This is why they gave us the $40 discount. insane. I could have chosen a local, qualified plumber and paid less. The work that was done could have been done by anyone; no plumbing knowledge was needed. $250 minimum. 35 minutes. Not telling the potential client that until presentation of final bill is unfortunate.

I do not recommend this company. They will charge you an extravagant amount for labor. It cost me $700 for 1 and 1/2 hour just for labor, not including parts (total time from walking in my house to leaving). They claim that they are emergency plumbers, so you will be paying an extreme amount of money for their "emergency service". My situation was not an emergency, I scheduled it out 5 days ahead. When I got my labor bill, I was shocked to see that 1 & 1/2 hour cost me $700 in just labor alone! When I tallied up their charges I saw that I was over charged by 1/2 hour, I asked them to explain. I was told that they charge by the whole hour, so I had to pay for the extra half hour. They told me they don't "nickel and dime it", instead apparently they rip the customer off. I was unaware of this when I hired them, and this is simply outrageous! They also took all my copper pipes over 7 feet (and 3 feet of 3" pipes!) without asking me if I wanted to keep them, and by the time I realized it, they were gone. I would certainly not recommend this company, they blatantly over charged me.

I didn't ask up about cost up front, and wasn't told, so I was disappointed to pay such a high amount during normal business hours. Seems like a better deal would be to use them for emergencies that occur after hours as the fee would be the same.

I had the pleasure of having Greg H. (Emp #51) come to my house and removed a clog causing both the tub and the sink in the bathroom to be unusable. I had tried to snake the drain myself and caused additional damage to the drain which created a leak. Greg did an amazing job removing the clog and replacing the drain and overflow for the tub. I have worked in the food industry for over 30 years and have come across MANY plumbers, while Roto-Rooter is not always the cheapest, I have always found like with anything that you pay for what you get. If you want quality then you have to expect to pay for it. Roto-Rooters technicians are always great and Greg has just risen the bar even higher. Quality. Hospitality. Friendliness. Value. I will NEVER use this business again. They charged me an outrageous fee for replacing a faucet, I was offsite and they told me they needed a CC to go out. They called with the total which was appalling - they charged me 316.45/hr - a total of almost $700 for a cheap replacement. I asked for an invoice and I needed to contact them 4-5x to get them to send one. It was obvious that the fees had been written over. I had a friend call to get a quote and he was quoted 150/hr for the same work. I contacted BBB with all my concerns and they refused to address any. Simply told me that I needed to go into their business if I wanted to discuss further. AND less than 3wks later I had to hire another plumber to fix what they were paid to do originally.

Techs solved the kitchen drain problem well. When I asked they did extra work by 1. checking the main line , 2. snaking a toilet and verifying that the toilet is the problem, and 3 fixing a gasket on the sink p-trap. I did have to remind them to remove shoes when we went upstairs, and once a snake was banging on the baseboard (no damage, though). I'm still reflecting on the $300 bill.

Frozen pipes on a frigid Friday night at 10 PM. when I called the answering service said a tech would get back to me withing the hour. Corey called in 15 minutes. Explained that he had 3 other calls before mine and said he would be there by 11PM. He was here at 10:10 and thawed the frozen water pipes by midnight. He was extremely professional and courteous and knew exactly what he was doing. I should add that I live in a mobile home and NO ONE would take on the task. so FYI Roto Rooter DOES deal with MANY issues. The price was very reasonable and I will use them again in a heartbeat. I offered to fill Corey's coffee mug and he was very grateful. He went on his way to yet another call. Corey was an excellent tech and if I need any sort of plumbing needs again I hope I get him as a tech.

Corey (tech35) took care of our lines out to the street. Looked at the line to the street with video and looked at the internal line to check for root regrowth from last years cleaning. No roots have returned. Confirmed RootX I used last year has kept them from coming back. Saved us from having to get a yearly cleaning.

Corey, Tech 35, arrived at 9:50 pm on a Sunday due an unknown clog. I talked Corey through what i could figure out and he started with what i told him versus starting from scratch. He concluded the clog was after the clean out cap in the basement, so took a walk outside. He popped the clean up cap outside only to release a gusher of water and waste (thankfully very little waste). Corey roto rootered the pipe and the clog was found 80 feet out--and a cracked pipe. He was efficient, knowledgeable, and polite.
