I Hired Merry Maids to clean my house after we did some renovations and before my grandson’s big first birthday party. There was a conflict with the starting time, but Rachel jumped in with her crew and worked hard and stated until the job was completed to my satisfaction. I would use them again and again. The price was right for all the detailed work they did from the renovations.

I like that more than one "maid" comes to clean so it is completed faster. I like that I do not have to provide the cleaning products used. I like that the "maids" are bonded and insured.

I arrived home 10 minutes before our scheduled consultation to find a note stating the manager had come on gone before our meeting time. Called the office and they said he would head straight back. He didn’t. I finally got him on the phone and he said he had more important things to do downtown and was not interested in my business. The receptionist was very friendly. Update: In response to the owner’s reply, yes it was Merry Maids South Austin. I did give the manager a chance to provide service after failing to show up to the appointment. This was when he said he didn’t need my business. I’d gladly give you a chance to correct this, but I’m not seeing a proposal in your response.

I've been working with them for over a week now to get a partial refund for the poor cleaning service I received. They told me they don't offer refunds, but could offer me a free cleaning. I wouldn't trust them again though! When I got home after work, there was a bag of trash at my front door. I asked the person at the office if that was normal and she assured me it isn't. They're supposed to throw in a trash can or bring it back to the office. They also left my air conditioning running (turned the fan from "auto" to "on") at 69 degrees on a hot, summer day for around 5 hours. On top of that, they broke the light fixture over my bathroom mirror while cleaning it which kept them from being able to clean the mirror. And they did not clean my kitchen counter well, if at all, as I was able to still see crumbs on it. Do NOT use this service. It will end up costing you more than just the cleaning (fixing broken items, your electric bill, etc).

Only 2 cleanings so far - 1st cleaning overall was good, some small things left undone but they sent the crew out the next day to take care of them. 2nd cleaning is why I rated it a 3 stars, I came home yesterday and neither my area rug in the living room or the runner in the kitchen had been vacuumed. They clean the downstairs and two bathrooms upstairs and the master bedroom, the other two bedrooms are closed off. So, I'm still finding it necessary to go around to make sure everything was cleaned. I have not left a tip for the crew yet and probably won't until I don't have to finish the job when I get home. I have two small dogs but that really shouldn't be a problem. I'll try a couple more cleanings because what they do clean is awesome, but if the issue is still present I'll cancel service.

My experience with merry maids of south Austin has been great! There was a little confusion around scheduling when I first kicked off with them, but after that, Rachel (and Erwin-the name escapes me) has been AMAZING! Plus, the teams coming to my home kill it every time. They’re all friendly, accommodating, and trustworthy. If I ever have anything specific or out of the norm that I need them to focus on, they excel. My baseboards and stairs are always a point of contention for me at home, and the merry maids team takes care of it better than I ever could with one ask. Honestly, merry maids have saved me so much headache. I never have to worry about the tedious chores after long and difficult days at work. Thank you!

One hour late. Worked 3 hours and didn't finish everything. 2 hours upstairs and the bathrooms were not cleaned. Friendly staff yet it felt like they were milking it a bit. Not worth it. Wouldn't get this service again.

Absolutely terrible cleaning service. I paid $180 for them to clean one room!, which they mopped (partially) and put away our dishes. This service also threw away my driver license, put my lights and darks in the wash/dryer, and left a complete mess under the furniture in the one room they cleaned.
