Couldn't defraud insurance company for more money, so, they just quit. Long story... Sprinkler system froze and broke (thanks CityScape, shysters as well), flooded my condo. Servepro swore, "it'll be better than new" when finished... Wasn't. Fire dept had to kick door in (sprinkler activated alarm) and they broke the framing around French door. $50 to repair...maybe, just some wood and paint. They tried to Bill the insurance company $2200 for a whole new unit. Insurance didn't agree. So, they just left it. Many other issues as well. A year of emails, calls... Nothing. Typical contractors, get the money and run.

I didn't realize how much they do until a friend of mine had his house burn down. I was so impressed with how much they can do for people that have a house burn down. My experience with ServPro was a mixed bag that ultimately ended up being hugely disappointing. Let me start by saying that we had a bit of a novel issue. Water started appearing in almost every wall in our house in pockets, showing through the drywall and causing potential mold growth. We contacted ServPro to help. They came out and diagnosed with us that it was likely the gutters which were in disrepair and potentially overflowing into the house. I got the gutters fixed and my insurance paid for ServPro to fix the water issues in the wall. This part of my ServPro experience all went smoothly. Fast forward roughly a month, and water starts coming through the walls again. My first project manager was apparently no longer on the case so I got a new one who was communicative at first. He came and looked at the house and diagnosed it as breathing issues in the attic. He came back with several other members of ServPro and they were convinced that was the problem, not the gutters as originally diagnosed. He was going to contact a structural engineer to see what the best way to fix the issue was. Well, I didn't hear anything for about two weeks. I call the branch to find out the second project manager had a family emergency and his cases were being taken over by my third project manager. Ok, no big deal I get that people have emergencies, I tried to be understanding. However, nobody ever called me to let me know, nobody ever called the engineer, and nothing got done while the problem continued getting worse. Finally I called and figured this all out and talked to my third project manager. He was incredibly unhelpful, pointing me back to things we had already eliminated with my first two project managers such as the A/C unit. Well, I called the A/C company out and they confirmed what my first two project managers had: the A/C couldn't possibly do this type of damage. So time goes on, no communication at all, no help, nothing. We decide to go with another company who finds the problem the first day at my house and delivers an estimate for fixing it to me and my insurance adjuster. I haven't even mentioned the subcontractor they used. This sub put my walls back together and its a disaster. The paint doesn't really match and they didn't bother to do another coat. There are paint splotches all over my TV and entertainment cabinet which they apparently didn't cover as they repainted. There are loose nails in the carpets and they didn't even caulk all the baseboards they put back on. Add to that there was a mess on my kitchen counter including paint covered paper towels, a dirty bloody band-aid (disgusting!) and a gatorade bottle full of paint. There was also paint in my upstairs bathroom sink, on the toilet handle and on the lightswitch that they never cleaned up. So I was left cleaning their massive mess at a jobsite they didn't even finish. Edit: The owner of ServPro, Jeff, reached out to me once these reviews went up. He had not been made aware of the situation by his employees but once he was made aware he took significant steps to address the situation. Let me say that Jeff is very professional and deeply cares about his business. If every employee was half as invested as he is there would never be a problem. I understand that Jeff took my scenario as a teaching moment for his staff as well, which I appreciated. On a more concrete level Jeff and his sub came out to fix the cosmetic issues left over from the repairs, and did a good job. His sub was also deeply apologetic and let me know that the level of work and slopiness was unacceptable. Jeff also paid to have our locks replaced because one of our project managers never returned our house key and is no longer with the company. Most importantly, Jeff clarified what the roles and responsibilities of ServPro are and guaranteed communication would be better moving forward. I was on the fence whether to change this to 3 or 4 stars but I really feel the response from the company owner was above and beyond what you would get from most folks.

We recently discovered a leak in our fire suppression system. It had probably been leaking for months, and as a result we had a "microbial problem." Update: 6 months later and 3 attempts to do the job right and my basement is finally finished. It was a horrible experience and I beg people to run away from this company as fast as possible, to save them from what I had to go through. I deeply regret using this company and hope someone heeds my warning. I'm also pretty sure the contractors stole from us. The job was not done properly and we had to call to have you guys fix it. You are sending another company to redo the wrong work (the company was SHOCKED to see how badly the original work was done). Hopefully, it will be done properly this time. I do appreciate the willingness to fix it. Customer service is big for me, and there was A LOT of communication problems since my very first appointment. They would come and then say they were coming back the next day and almost never did. I'd wait days and then finally contact them to say, 'uh... When are you coming back?' I had to go to the hospital, but my husband was here. I gave them his info and they still called me over and over because they came without telling us and got mad when we were not home. The last time they came for a while, they said they'd come back the next day to finish an hour of work. That was Friday. We finally contacted them on Tuesday and they said, oh, we thought they were done. Despite them leaving all their tools at my house. They also waited a couple weeks after they figured out there was 1k of extra work to even let us know. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience.

Like it never happened! We are talking about gallons of projectile diarrhea coming out of a small dog for two days... The dog must have done poop donuts in every carpeted room of the house. She got the carpet, the walls, the rug, the garage, two dog beds, a pile of towels, the car, and the christmas light cords. Lil' Buttercup didn't miss any opportunities to repaint the house with her hind end. Thank God for SERVPRO of Chattanooga! Servpro did a terrible job. After they completed our service they left our carpets soaking wet which left our carpets smelling of mildew. Most of the stains in our carpet were left behind. After the job was done we went to the grocery store and rented a machine and cleaned the carpet ourselves which left our carpet in much better condition. I wish we would have done this to begin with because this only cost us $60 verses the $250 Servpro charged.
