The service provided by W.Crawford exceeded my expectations and made a bad situation (backed-up basement floor drain) tolerable. Willie is very personable, but more importantly, very knowledgable. David was excellent on explaining and correcting the problem we had, so far so good, he also tested the reparation quickly, but after he left and working normally, not everything went down the drain because it was clogged somewhere else and that caused to flood the kitchen and call them again to get back the next day and pay them the fee for another visit because they didn't work on that part in the first visit. Anyway, if they have test it more thoroughly they would have notice that the drain was clogged also somewhere else. David is very nice and polite person, maybe going the extra mile would have save us the second fee for the visit and pay only the repairs the first time. JT

This was the second time I needed a plumber and it was good to have someone that I’s already dealt with return to take care of the new issue. Bryan is very knowledgeable, made an accurate assessment in a short amount of time, and corrected the issue with as minimal disruption as possible. Since the leak was in the wall, he neatly cut and removed only the amount of sheet rock needed to correct the issue and the cleaned up once the repair was completed. I really appreciate him taking the time to answer my questions and explain things to me.

David's workmanship was top notch -- everything was neatly installed and mounted. They had to cut the street to run the sewer line to the manhole, and it was cut cleanly and neatly patched up. I called Roto late in the day yesterday and they sent someone out first thing this morning! The project manager Chris M. came and inspected my water heater which is located under my house, took him all of 15 minutes and he had a estimate for me. Chris's attitude was professional and friendly throughout the interaction and he told me they would get old water heater out and new one in on the same day! Very pleased with the professionalism and speedy service thus far! Would recommend. 5/5 stars!

I've never once wrote a review anywhere, but the bait and switch I received from this company warrants me to do so. If you simply need your septic tank pumped, stay far away from roto-rooter. They will send one technician out to "diagnose" the problem you have already explained over the phone for $179. Then they call another tank driver out to pump the tank for $395. So basically you end up paying $200+ more than anyone else around here to do the same job. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company.

He presented options and pricing for each. The service rep Willie, I rate 10. The company I rate 2. My water heater died on a weekend (Sept 23). Roto-Rooter said they could come out, they said nothing about a weekend surcharge . They had service rep call me so he could pick-up a water heater on the way so he would have it if needed. After I had paid the exorbitant bill, I checked prices at Home Depot on everything he installed, it was slightly under $500.00. Imagine my surprise when I was presented a bill for $1673.11 for billable materials and labor for installing a 40 gallon water heater. Not once was the cost discussed with me. If I had known of the ridiculous weekend prices I would have waited until Monday. The only reason they got a 2 is they sent someone out and he was great. I feel robbed. Wanted to wait until I had checked with other folks to see what they would have charged me for the exact same install prior to posting this. The quotes ranged from $750 to $1000.

Bryan, the first service person was very knowledgeable and a good worker. I am very happy with the results. However, I am a little dismayed that Bryan did not pass on the information about my problem to his company that more work needed to be done to resolve the issue. He became ill and because the information of needed further work did not get passed on, I had to pay after hours fee and a night fee. If the company had been notified that the work was not finished, it could have been done during normal working hours.

They came between the times discussed, a hey we are on our way call was placed, I was told what my problem was and a quote. A few days later they were back to start job. It was a 2 full day job. Willie talked with me , answered my question. It was an all around great service experience. Thankful they could squeeze me in for this service.

Their technician came to my vacation cabin in Mountain Rest for a service call related to a plumbing issue. We were having gurgling sounds and water coming up in the bathtub when the toilets were flushed. He did not come into the house to inspect the situation. Instead he immediately began suggesting that it was a septic tank issue. He focused mainly on trying to uncover the septic tank and only at my insistence did he actually attempt to snake out the main septic line to the house. He repeatedly told me it was a septic issue, and that I needed to cut down a tree, dig up the roots to uncover the septic tank, and then get the septic tank emptied. Basically, he did nothing to resolve the plumbing issue. This visit was $284. It took some time to get the tree cut down, dig up the septic cover, and get a company to come out to inspect the tank. Finally, after accomplishing all of these things, a septic company did come out. But when they removed the tank cover, the septic tank was completely empty – no roots or sewage, absolutely nothing in the tank. There was never any problem with my septic tank. I followed up with Roto Rooter and Bryan came out. He immediately recognized that the septic line needed to be tapped. As he explained to me, simply inserting a snake into the access point would not work, due to the 45-degree angle. He cut a small hole into the septic line, inserted the snake and removed a large wad of tree roots that was blocking the line. This immediately resolved the issue. It was clear to both of us that this was not a new issue. The roots were the issue on the first visit. An issue that the first technician failed to address since he was so fixated on the septic tank, which was not the problem. This visit was $239. I did discuss the issue of the first visit with Bryan, but he said he could not adjust the rate in light of the first visit and that I would need to talk with someone in the office. I did talk with Chris Moates, who apparently did discuss the issue with the owner and a refund of $75 was given back to me. I certainly appreciate the $75, but do not feel that this is adequate compensation. I paid $284 on the first visit, $239 on the second visit, with an additional $75 for a septic company to insect the tank when there was not a problem with the septic tank! I very strongly feel that if the first technician had adequately assessed the situation and performed the correct method of clearing the line – a second visit would not have been necessary. At least $200 of the first visit was the actual service call, but the technician did not do his job which then required a second visit. This is just not good business.
