I needed my chimney repointed and received a quote. They started the job on 18 June and finished on 13 July. When it was time to pay he charged $200 more than what he quoted. We never discussed the possibility of a change to the original quote. The work was fine but if you use this company ensure you have a clear understanding of the price. I paid the extra $200 because I didn't want to extend my dealings with the company/owner. I won't use him again and will not recommend him to friends.

I have been having and asking Mark for almost 20 years to inspect chimneys and help my customers and contacts with their chimney issues , always honest , fair and a craftsmen !! I'm the owner of R. E. Coogan Heating Inc of Warwick RI , we do plumbing , Heating and AC , especially on the East Side of Providence where chimneys are very old and need an expert which for me has always been CLASSIC CHIMNEY

Got an estimate in the beginning of April for re-pointing my chimney, and was told by the owner that the work will commence around the end of June. Left two detailed messages the last week of June with all my contact info; it's now the second week of July, and they have not returned my calls. Unreliable, and unprofessional. DO NOT RECOMMEND! (UPDATE: I read your response, and you missed my point completely. If you had simply returned my call(s) and explained that there would be a delay in doing the work, I would have been perfectly fine with that.. But, you couldn't even manage to return my call(s), which was the least I expected, and wasn't much to ask.)

The best. I am certain you will not find a company as professional, trustworthy, and really good at what they do as Mark at Classic Chimney. He will never use scare tactics to get you to pay for work that you do not need. I experienced that with another chimney sweep. Mark at Classic "diagnosed" the problem and resolved it at about 10% of the cost of the other company had estimated. He and the people in the office are really nice, great conversationalists, and always reliable

Classic Chimney did an exemplary job cleaning and repairing the 7 fireplaces in my 1840 center chimney colonial home in Fox Point. These massive 3ft x 3ft 180 year old chimneys require special attention and skill. Colonial used soft cleaning brushes and paid attention to the vagaries of 19th century craftsmanship. I am a fussy old man and I recommend Classic Chimney without hesitation.
