Kirk spent plenty of time diagnosing the problems with our vent, explaining how a properly functioning system should work, and detailing in an easy-to-understand way how he would repair our vent system. He wore booties over his shoes to protect our carpet and was meticulous in his attention to detail while installing a new dryer box in the wall behind our dryer and a new vent hood on our roof. We saw immediate results from Kirk's repairs. The efficiency of our dryer increased about tenfold. I called Dryer Vent Wizard on a reference on my dryer repair man. He had said he had never heard the noise coming from our vents before. They were scheduled to come between 1:30 to 2pm as I was working from home, I needed to handle a conference call at 1. At 12:40 Brandon from Dryer Vent Wizard called me and said he was ready to come. I asked if it was at all possible for him to wait until after my call was over and he did which I very much appreciate. I called as soon as my call was over and he was here within 10 minutes. When he arrived he looked over my system and the prior owners had put together an insane vent system that was very very clogged and highly inefficient. Brandon pondered over some options and then we both ultimately decided to put in a correct system rather than trying to remove and replace the existing one. This system required new venting out onto the roof. Brandon got to work. Climbing through my very cluttered tiny crawls space, climbing up on to my roof. He needed to be creative in his rebuild as my architecture made it more complicated. He worked quickly, having the whole job done in less than 3 hours. Brandon was very professional, nice and even talked on the phone with my husband to answer his questions before beginning. Great customer service.!

My overall rating of the work this company did is excellent. They were on time for the appointments which is appreciated as too many companies nowadays make you wait forever. They took the time to walk me through the options we had to do the work and then gave me a couple of days to think about it and make sure that I would be picking the option that made the most sense. I continue to be amazed as to how minimally the work impacted existing structures. This is especially amazing true as some of the drilling and setting of ductwork was performed essentially blind working through very small openings in an existing cedar closet. All in all, everything exceeds my expectations by quite a bit. I’ll also note that the dryer seems to be working much more effectively and efficiently than before you did the work.

I used them to correct a problem where my dryer wasn’t venting properly. They charged me over $300 for a new vent cause my old vent (my house is 15+ years old) wasn’t up to code, and then moved my washer and dryer 10 inches forward so the new vent would fit. Told me it was the only way and I had to take the doors to my laundry room off cause they wouldn’t fit with the dryer that much forward. Although the dryer worked much better, I needed to search and find another contractor to do drywall/carpentry work so my laundry room doors could go on/close again (my laundry room is on the main floor of my house so no doors and a washer and dryer sticking out into the hallway is very unsightly). Well, turns out when the new contractor came he found a much better way to vent the dryer (taking out and extra 90 degree angle in the new vent) and prevented having to do any drywall work to make things fit. He only charged me $100 to do this and dryer vents even better than after this place. The way I see it I would have been better off not going w/ them and just hiring the other guy - would have saved me $300. Yes - they fixed my dryer vent, but left me needing drywall/carpentry work and didn’t do what they could to prevent it. Just get second opinions/other estimates if they want to move your dryer from its original location to fit in a new vent.

One of my biggest fears is a lint fire in the dryer vent and it got worse when my dryer quit working and gave an error about the vent being 80% blocked. I called Dryer Vent Wizard and Kirk came out to evaluate the issue. He walked through his process and showed me how little pressure was being created in the vacuum of the dryer and showed me the weak air venting on measurements taken on the outside vent. He diagnosed the problem as just a clogged vent pipe (and nothing else, thankfully). He went to work outside (in a total downpour, no less) and vacuumed out the entire ventilation system. Then, he took the same readings inside and outside again once he was finished and the improvement was incredible. I purchased a lifetime service plan to ensure this dryer ventilation pipe is cleaned annually. I am not taking any chances, plus I am sure it will enhance the efficiency of my dryer. I highly recommend Dryer Vent Wizard for any ventilation issues or regular maintenance.

Was having an acrid smell coming from my dryer and wanted to determine if it was a blocked dryer vent, so called the Dryer Vent Wizard. They responded right away and it was easy to schedule an appointment at my convenience. Kirk arrived right on time and got to work diagnosing the situation. I was surprised to see the cool instruments they use to tell whether your vent (ours is quite long, extending under the house) is blocked. Kirk quickly informed me that our vent was fine, showing me how the instruments detect obstruction and air flow. Since I wouldn't know what was going on in the vent, I was happy that Kirk was so honest and expeditious in his assessment. There was no attempt to sell me on anything I didn't need. We had Dryer Vent Wizard out for a cleaning and found out that our dryer was not venting properly. We couldn’t believe how much lint was just laying in the tubing and found out the tubing was not up to code. We decided to have the tubing replaced and John the installer did a wonderful job. Very logical approach to determining why the dryer takes forever to dry: they measure the initial pressure/vacuum the dryer is pulling (mine was 0.5, which is low, should be at least 1.0). This more or less ensures that there is really some sort of pluggage issue. After the cleaning, they measure again (it increased to 1.2). If you're someone that likes to see numbers to trust that the cleaning was efficient, they will give you peace of mind. After several loads of drying, the dryer no longer throws a 'something is plugged' code, and drying time is shorter. It is worth throwing some money at it for the peace of mind, you can always get a 'do-it yourself' kit in between major cleanings.

The service technician called ahead and then showed up on time. He asked me to describe and walk him through the problem. He listened intently and asked a few questions as I showed him the situation. I have checked the dryer itself, the riser semi-rigid vent and the 8' long rigiid to the roof. He then got out his equipment to check the actual airflow. This is necessary in case it is a dryer sensor failure. The test showed the vent was occluded. Based on what I had told him and the pictures I showed him, he decided to start outside. He had the required 26' ladder and was checking the outside vent. He found the source pretty quickly. It was as I had expected. He then retested the dryer and showed that full airflow had been restored. The post test is essential and it was good that he did it automatically. It was all done in less than 30 minutes. He then wrote up the bill and I paid him with a check, which they prefer. We paid $150, and your price may vary. I feel good about the price because I skipped a ladder rental and he had the equipment, knowledge, and procedures to make sure I had a clean vent. I will not hesitate to call them WHEN I need my dryer vents serviced again.

We have a hair salon, and our dryer is going all day long drying towels. We are really hard on dryers! The Dryer Vent Wizard technicians identified some potentially very serious problems with our dryer vent. They showed us the inefficiency the clogged vent was creating, they cleaned who knows how many icky pounds of accumulated hair, lint and other gunk, (and showed us pictures of it- eww!) they corrected some structural problems in the vent, and then demonstrated the impressively improved efficiency in the dryer. We’ve replaced that dryer at least twice in three years- and part of the problem was the clogged vent (in addition to being a serious fire hazard that we weren’t aware of) was making the dryer work extra hard. We were literally burning up dryers every year or so. We saw an immediate improvement in the performance of the dryer- our towels are drying in half the time. Happy with the professionalism of this company. I had tried plumbers and air duct cleaning companies in the past...they showed up with inadequate tools and little knowledge, almost as if dryer vents were an unimportant side job. Dryer Vent Wizard has specific performance meters and equipment to clean existing vents and to install new vent lines and booster fans if that is what you need. This is their business, as far as I know their only business. Of course I had a minor issue or two during and after the job, but on the whole they were so far beyond any of the others that I rate them 5 stars. My dryer works measurably better now, and most importantly my fire safety concerns have been alleviated.

I called Dryer Vent Wizard in a panic when my dryer made the house smell like it was on fire! The technician Brandon was very patient when my dog peed on him out of excitement! I was originally quoted about $500 for an inside cleaning, new vent piping, lint trap cleaning and the site visit... which I was more than willing to pay to keep my family safe!!!! but when he went to the attic and found this “pancake” of lint that was at the roof junction, he re-ran the test and suddenly everything was running to optimal performance again!! Could he have talked me into spending all the extra $? Very likely. But he didn’t! Especially around the holidays, any saved money is a big help! My total for the dryer lint trap cleaning & service fee + tax was $111. That is a HUGE savings! I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

I highly recommend Dryer Vent Wizard! The venting system in our home was found to be inadequate, not to code, and quite possibly a fire hazard. Kirk was great, he explained the issues and showed us the lint build up in vent and inside the wall. (Our venting tube wasn't connected properly to the exhaust tube and the lint was basically collecting inside the wall). Kirk made the repairs and the laundry room was spotless when he finished. We have a busy household and do a lot of laundry. I had been noticing that it was taking longer and longer for clothes to dry. I also had noticed an abundance of lint and humidity in the laundry room. One night, our puppy got sick in my son's bed and I had five loads of bedding, towels, blankets, and a quilt to wash the next day. It became apparent to me that I had a problem when I had to augment the drying process by draping blankets and quilts around the house to air dry. I had recently seen the Dryer Vent Wizard van parked in a neighbor's driveway. Remembering that, the light bulb went on in my head, resulting in a google search and a phone call. The receptionist Kelly was very helpful and the owner/technician Kirk called me later that day to discuss my questions. Kirk arrived this morning as scheduled, put on shoe covers, conducted a 10 point inspection of my dryer and venting system, and made his recommendations including a point by point quote. It was alarming to find out that the accordion style in-home vent we had bought at a big box store and used for years is flammable. He worked quickly and thoroughly to address the problems. It turns out that we had so much lint clogging up the vents that our dryer is also worn out from overwork. But we no longer have the fire hazards. We'll probably get a new dryer in a few months. Kirk was very personable, professional, and did great work. We called him out for a vent cleaning because the dryer's performance had declined and loads were coming out damp and unpleasant smelling. He immediately identified that whoever installed the dryer (inherited from the previous homeowner) had not done anything correctly or to code. The wrong type of ducting was attached with packing tape, posing a fire hazard, and the vinyl dryer vent cap had warped from being placed on the sunny side the house. He thoroughly explained the issues and was able to correct them during the same appointment at a very reasonable price.

After the inspection, he went over the readings that he got on his equipment and he explained to me the deficiencies of my system. He also showed me the things that he found during his visual inspection of the system that needed to be corrected so that my system was safe and up to code. He clearly explained to me how he was going to correct all of the issues before starting. When he finished he walked me through everything that he did so that I could understand all of the charges. He even noticed that my washing machine hoses were rotted out and he replaced them. He saved me from a possible flood in the basement. Kirk is very personable and we enjoyed some conversations during his visit. He works with a purpose and doesn't waste time and he kept the work areas very clean. Beware. The technician said he performed some tests in less than 5 minutes, only to present us with a $550 estimate to have the dryer vent cleaned and a few other needless repairs. And he had no idea that the dryer had a booster fan or where it was located. In Florida we had a dryer vented through a second floor roof and paid less than $100 to have the dryer vent cleaned from the laundry room and the second-floor house roof. Needless to say, he was out of here!!!
