About 6 months ago I detected a musty smell in our finished attic. I hired a roofing contractor to re-caulk around the chimney and pipes on the roof. The smell did not go away and over the course of the summer just got worse. The problem reached a head when my wife and I watched a football game on the TV in the attic and after 2 hours we were wheezing and coughing. I knew I had to do something so I called Servpro. (I had used Servpro in the western part of the State about 5 years ago with great success.) After scheduling an appointment with Servpro of Cary (which also has a location in East Raleigh), I met General Manager Bill Shook, who came to my house. He was spot on time and very professional. He helped me put a game plan together to deal with the issue, which included an air quality study by a 3rd party company. This was very important to me since my son has asthma. After getting the report we took remediation steps to correct the problems identified in the report - which included replacement and installation of additional attic fans. When going through the report, Bill gave solid advice based on what would work best for me and not what made the most money for him. I had even convinced myself to take a corrective action that would have been very costly, but Bill recommended against it. To me that shows character and true interest in the customer.
Because of Servpro's help, we have completely corrected the problem with a minimal expense. If I could give Bill Shook and Servpro of Cary 10 stars I would. I recommend Servpro of Cary to anyone. This is a very trustworthy company. (Note: Even though I used the Cary location, I understand that Bill Shook is also affiliated with the East Raleigh location so I am including my Cary review in this East Raleigh location too.)
