Merry Maids has been incredibly easy to work with. Their initial over the phone quote was very close to the actual amount. They have been easy to schedule and great about returning phone calls. The cleaning was great and they were willing to dig into some gross areas and our beach house is renter ready for the summer.

I mean I took care of my family. I cooked, cleaned, picked up and deputed off kids and worked full time. But then I was being told at the age of 31 that I had to under go treatment that was going to knock me down. Needless to say I worries about everything. Then enters #merrymaidswilmington with cleaning for a reason and a very nice lady Brittany shows up at my door to clean my entire house.(a few others came along but Brittany was the main one) Merry maids came out four times to clean my house and it so desperately needed it. Thank you Merry Maids of Wilmington for your compassion and help! Its helped more than you know!

They showed up and left a couple minutes later without saying a word. I had to call to even find out where they were. They then charged me because I took up their “time,” which I also had to call about to find out. Then they called me while I was at work saying I had to return home to give them a binder they forgot. They said when I called that they left because of some “mold” from the hurricane that they never showed me. They refused to hear my complaints and still will not respond. If there was “mold”, I would like to know where it is instead of just leaving. This is also not the way to do business after a hurricane. I would highly recommend another cleaning crew.

My wife and I would NOT recommend Merry Maids for a few reasons. First of all, they charged us $218 for a brand new home, only lived in a week out of the month, with two people. The company also didn't give us the same cleaners we requested and the owner told me she fired two of the girls who came to our house because of bad behavior. The first crew that came out were great; we had no issues, etc. The NEW team came out and cleaned the entire house in one hour while we were walking the dogs and left, they missed just about everything. My wife called and asked them to come back, and one of the cleaners gave my wife an attitude. I explained all this to the owner; she said sorry, this never happened before, but didn't provide us with a discount, no money off, etc. Asked me to keep using them for the same price even tho we had issues with them twice already. Stay FAR away if you expect top notch service from a cleaning company. If you want an overpriced company who doesn't do a great job this company is for you.

I was happy with the cleaning that the maids did for my apartment move-out, but very dissatisfied with the way the charges were "explained" to me. Be careful with your agreement as over the phone you are told the cleaning is $55/hour, but in the fine print it's actually $55/hour per person. So off the bat you're paying $110 an hour for 2 maids (deep clean doesn't include stove, have to pay extra for that). I also noticed that I was charged almost another $100 after the service was finished. When I called to inquire, I got a call-back voicemail giving me one explanation stating I should have been charged a fraction of that. I called back this morning to get a refund and got a completely different explanation. No one could corroborate anything as the person that answers the phone only has access to "the notes" and not the full service breakdown. Disorganized and unprofessional. Whatever you think you're going to pay, think again.
