I decided to give this American Drive In Cleaners a try. I was sorry I did. They were very overpriced. I paid $24 for 5 shirts and 2 pair of pants. I just paid $15 for the same thing down the road. Every shirt in my order was pressed horribly with big lines going down the shirts. They could not be worn and had to be taken to another cleaners.

Recently I had a truly remarkable experience at American Dry Cleaners. I had a very special dress altered by Nadia over the weekend for my daughter. My daughter planned to wear it for Easter. Except in my forgetfulness, I forgot to pick up the dress before closing time on Saturday! This particular Easter, this particular dress meant a lot my daughter. I reached out to Peter, the owner via email at 7:30pm on Saturday night to ask if there was any way to get the dress for Easter Sunday morning. (Sunday is their only closed day). Within a short time, Peter contacted me to say he would get the dress to us for Easter Sunday one way or another! I just couldn’t believe the way in which Peter and his manager, Pat, went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. At 8:30am Easter Sunday morning, Peter came and hand delivered my daughter’s dress to our home!!!! Sunday is his only day off and he came to deliver this dress to us!!! We have been customers for several years. The service, quality and professionalism are consistently great. But what they did this Easter for us truly meant the world to me. Thank you again!!!

I must say my favorite aspect of this dry cleaners is the courtesy, efficiency, and friendliness of the staff. Every time I walk in, all staff members smile at me and deliver on their promises. I wish the costs could be a bit lower, but otherwise, it's a great location compared to my house and place of work. They always treat me like royalty, and it is my pleasure to do business with them. God bless them all. Gilbert and Pete especially are two of my favorites - and I like the younger guy Pat as well. They are all genuine and warm and caring.

Nadia, the seamstress, did a wonderful job on every single piece of clothing! You can tell she puts a lot of effort and skill into everything she does. I cannot say enough great things about the seamstress at this store! I got married last month and had a hard time finding a wedding dress that I liked. About a month before my wedding, I fell in love with a gown that was about 6 sizes too big on me. I went to the seamstress in this store and she was able to make the dress fit me perfectly. This was no easy task— the dress had lace sleeves, illusion neckline, a tie-up back, several buttons and sequences and several layers because it was a princess gown. Nevertheless, the seamstress did an AMAZING job. She listened to what I wanted and surpassed all expectations! She even made great recommendations like adding a zipper onto the sleeves so they’re form fitting on my wrists. She is very skilled, very patient, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend her!!!

Super responsive with customers. They email you when the clothing is ready which is usually ready in less than 2 days for a small order. There's a good tailor on site too, call in advance since she isn't there at all hours.

I went into American Dry Cleaner just to get my shirts and wife's Ugg boots, when I saw the unique display they had for wedding dresses. I should have done this earlier but thanks to Danny Kuchlik and his staff gave me a great estimate. The estimate doesn't do it justice when my wife posted this online " I am SO EXCITED. My husband surprised me by having my wedding dress preserved/displayed!" Thank you guys for an amazing JOB!

Took a chance having my dress altered here living in area reading all the positive reviews. I didn’t have such a positive experience. I dropped the dress off last week was told come back in a week. To my surprise I came back only to find that the seamstress alleged the pins came out and that I needed to be refit. I confirmed they had my phone number on file and asked why no one called me the response was I got busy. Unable to pick up the same day had to come back the following day. She also took up way too much on the top and cut the fabric now I’m stuck having spent 500 on a beautiful dress that is going to cut me under my arms for the entire affair. I also brought this dress on an expensive hanger in the bag from the designer. They handed it back to me in plastic on metal hanger. When I asked where the bag was I brought it in they brought out the bag that I brought it in cut in half with no hanger. I brought these items to the employers attention and he did nothing and said nothing other than I didn’t know that happened. Wouldn’t come back here again for alterations after this experience. I truly think management should’ve addressed these concerns instead of brushing me off. Very disappointing experience after paying 125 dollars for alterations. After learning of the experience Peter reached out to me and did credit me back a portion of the alteration fees and has offered me a credit to give them a try for dry cleaning. I appreciate the fact that he took responsibility and certainly gave my concerns the time of day when I felt previously that had not been done. Will consider bringing my dry cleaning items here after having received his call.

I have been using this place for a short period of time but I have to say I am VERY impressed. On Long Island I have always struggled to find a great dry cleaner. The reality is most suck. I have checked multiple areas and finally came across this one. I read some reviews then went in there and the experience was awesome. The staff is very friendly and professional and most importantly my clothes come out of there looking great. I have some nice quality fabrics so I am very careful with who I trust my clothes with. This dry cleaner has certainly earned my trust and I am so happy that I finally found them.

I moved to Jersey City in January from NYC and was quickly able to start acclimating to my new life fairly quickly, with the exception of finding a dry cleaners that did the work on premises. Instead, what I found was a lot of companies that sourced out the work - ultimately meaning that they were not responsible for the quality of the work. I search for several months, reading and comparing reviews, for a dry cleaners with a strong following and great rating. Then I found American Dry Cleaners. Their Yelp reviews, Google Reviews and website all gave me a good vibe. Meeting Jimmy and his team reinforced that feeling. Seeing all of the customers that came into the store engage with him, with him acknowledging them each by name, showed me that he really cares about his customers. The quality of the work I received was exceptional. My garments didn't have that "dry clean" smell, all of the pieces were nicely arranged and they were cleaned to perfection. As long as I live in NJ, I'll be a faithful customer of American Dry Cleaner.
