Caveat Emptor!!! Called to get my "chimney furnace" clean because it was clogged with debris and the smoke originating from the water boiler and oil burner was escaping inside the house instead. Very dangerous predicament indeed because of the carbon monoxide poison. But in all seriousness, the case I have is that the chimney was completely clogged and the immediate resolution was to unclogged it!!! But the technician from American Chimney declared immediately that I am at risk! Understandably so, but I called the plumber and the Oil co. technician ahead of him and checked and both agreed to have the chimney cleaned and should take care of my problem. The chimney rep. angrily told me and the oil co. repairman who was still in my house that he will not even clean the clogged chimney even though that is the only thing I want him to do at the time. Instead, he was forceful in telling me that I will not be "in compliance" and that he will not be responsible if something happen to me. In other words, he was aiming to make me agree to do the bigger job which included putting stainless liner in the chimney flu before he agrees to clean the clogged chimney. His estimate for the job... a whopping $2,300.00 price tag. This is the mentality plotted by these contractors, repairmen to scare you first about a job which may or may not be needed at the time. Instead of educating or give you options that you may consider doing in the future. They will force such idea to the homeowners only to profit from you. It left me with a bad taste... Buyer beware!!!

I recently moved and needed my chimney to cleaned/inspected. They were great. I had an 8:00 AM appointment and they were there on time, actually a few minutes early which is a plus for me. The guys were very courteous, clean and professional. They moved furniture and put down blankets so they didn't track anything through the house. They cleaned the fireplace and showed me this inside of the chimney. A cap was required, which they installed right away. I would recommend American Chimney Service to my family and friends and will be using them again in the future. Thank you for excellent service!

Even returned the following morning after being paid in full to add more stone after the carpenter finished the mantle. They were patient and very neat and clean. Great prices too. Tech called to see if he could come early, and he did. Conveniently scheduled Saturday hours; no taking off from work! The team did a clean, thorough job and were in and out within an hour. Inspected and gave a reasonable price quote for a few minor recommended repairs.

Working with American Chimney Service was an excellent experience. From the moment they conducted their initial inspection, through the final walk through and examination by the company's owner himself, this was a transaction that I can feel confident in. Investing in my home's safety is my top priority. When I heard that my chimney's liner was starting to break down, and was actually shown where the damage had already begun, it was a no brainer. Chimney health is not an area that you wait for something to happen, at that point it might be too late. A proactive approach is the best approach with this piece of your home's infrastructure. I called for a Chimney Certification cause I am replacing my hot water heater and the Town Building code requires it. Guy fromAmerican comes out tells me Chimney Is shot and needs a complete reline to the tune of 2k Dollars.So A friend told me to Call another co. In Rockland cty ( rockland guy doesn’t work in NJ) any how he tells me to call a friend of his who is reputable in NJ. Long story Short my Chimney is Fine got a certification for 80 bux and I’m good to go ! Watch out for the upsell with this company!!80 bux is a far cry from 2K !!

Thank You American Chimney Service! I called American Chimney Service last week while i was home from work on a "snow day" I figured what better time to use my fireplace. Well it didn't work as I thought it would. My entire house filled with smoke. American Chimney was able to send a technician out the same day! The technician that arrived was very proffesional in assessing my problem, he advised me of my options and gave me an estumate fir the repairs. I arranged with him to come back out to perform the repairs the following Saturday. They showed up on time and webt right to work. When they were done they showed me how to properly use my fireplace, they even started a fire! The fireplace now works great and I use it all the time! Thanks again guys!
