On Tuesday March 22, Technician Brandon called my cellphone and left a message that they were heading to my house, and that they had decided to remove a one foot section of my kitchen ceiling rather then removing the tub. The previous evening Brandon has suggested the possibility of opening up part of the ceiling - a suggestion that I disliked because I thought it would be difficult to mask that a hole had been placed in my ceiling. Nevertheless Brandon et al cut a hole in my ceiling without speaking to me that Tuesday or getting my approval. If it was manifestly necessary to cut a hole in the ceiling I would have been more understanding - however, the ceiling was, in the words of the technician the night before, bone dry. Also, if it had been necessary to cut the hole then why wasn't it done that first night, when I was at home, rather then the next day when they could not get ahold of me. While there is nothing to be done about it now, I can not recommend an organization that would treat customers wishes so indifferently.

Unfortunately, this is the 2nd time we've used ServiceMaster of Rochester in roughly a year. I was actually out of the country when we had another water pipe break, so I told my wife to call - knowing they do a great job and are also trustworthy. I wasn't wrong to place my trust in them - they did a great job.

After using Servicemaster for water mitigation services, I called them again to clean my home after the remodel in order to prepare for re-painting of the interior. They charged an exorbitant amount of money (4 digits!) and did very little of what they were hired to do. 5-6 young men showed up and in one hour and 45 minutes they 'supposed' cleaned my entire 2,000 square foot home from top to bottom, washing the walls, cleaned blinds, woodwork, window sills, light fixtures.. all without changing rags ONCE. It was inexcusable and I would never recommend them for cleaning services again. They should stick with water mitigation. It's the only thing they're relatively good at. After contacting them and expressing my dis-satisfaction, I received a discounted price, but the entire job wasn't worth 1/10 of what I paid!
