I chose Ecoverde because they have a good reputation, and the site was easy to use for scheduling cleanings. Now we have them coming once a month, and we're very happy with how adaptable the team is to changing requests (e.g., this needs cleaning this time, this doesn't) and how receptive they are to feedback. The cleaning products ("green" ones in their arsenal) don't smell too strongly, which was often an annoyance with other cleaning services. Our cleaning happens while we're at work, so it's like magic coming back to a freshly scrubbed apartment!

I needed an apartment cleaned on Monday, and called around on Sunday. I got only two responses in total, and Ecoverde responded first and fast and was able to schedule me the very next day at the exact time that was best for me, though I'd have accepted any appointment. They came on time, did a superficially good job, but I had to do lots of things behind them, and though I paid for an oven cleaning and saw them squirt oven cleaner ON A ROASTING SURFACE, the oven was crusted and dirty afterward, and I hope they washed the eating surface they put that stuff on. I had to dry my oak floor after they left -- oak floors should be cleaned with water, yes, but with an almost dry cloth, not a wet cloth that leaves the floor wet. They didn't clean a dirty light fixture and left visible dust on other big light fixtures, and there was dirt under furniture that I, a 69-year-old, could easily move myself. Superficial and maybe poisonous cleaning.

Arguably the best and least expensive cleaning service in the area. They have enough maids so that you can always book an appointment even on busy days like weekends, unlike the last service I hired where I would have to call at least three days ahead for an appointment. I started hiring them half a year ago, and I’m never going to look for any other maids anymore.

UPDATE: We have been using this service for months now, and it's gone pretty well. We did have an issue for a couple weeks where the cleaning team was getting held up cleaning another place before ours, but adjusting the scheduling fixed everything. Ecoverde is pretty responsive so it was an easy fix.

UPDATE: Carolina It is amazing how you are available to read and respond to Yelp reviews yet cannot pick up your customers phone calls during your stated business hours. My wife and I had tried to reach out to you many many times yesterday to sort out the issue. The maids were calling their 'co workers' during their visit. When we had asked to speak to the co workers they refused. Lets get a few things straight, there is only one bathroom in the house that we asked the maids to clean. The steam cleaning was agreed upon with whoever my wife spoke to over the phone when we booked the cleaning. The maid was less interested in completing the work than deciding on the scope of the work. And in the end she straight out refused to do any work and said 'job cancelled'. We did not have any aveneue to appeal and when I checked our bank statement it showed that you had already taken the money out. This is what lead to the heated argument. Yes i did close the door, I did not want the maids to leave until the matter was sorted and this was taken the wrong way. Lets get another thing straight while there was yelling it absolute lie that I swore at your maids and my family members. We do not care for your scam of a business either. Just give us our refund and move on. Two maids came in refused to steam clean the house which was agreed upon at time of booking. Maids left saying the service was 'canceled'. Unable to reach the company straight to voicemail. Needless to say the full $179 was taken out of the account. Will be following up with BBB to obtain refund (if at all possible). Best to avoid.

The cleaning is done really well, professional and great attention to detail. They showed up on time, took care of the kitchen first and worked their way to the bedrooms, bathrooms and carpet. Everything smelled great when I came home to a beautiful clean house. I have recommended their services to a friend of mine and she loves their cleaning as well. 5 stars.

Booking was super easy online - user-friendly website that didn't require any back and forth with the company to get the date and time we wanted at a good price. The team arrived on time, was friendly and thorough, and left our home looking better than it has in a long time. We feel better in our home - especially having a young child - knowing that it has been cleaned by professionals, and we opted for the green clean products, which was even better. We had to reschedule a few days before and Jorge from the customer service team was courteous and helpful to deal with over email. Would definitely recommend this service!

Lupa showed up on time (well, a tad early, but that's okay), and whipped my disgustingly dirty house into shape in under 2 hours--including thoroughly washing the floors. She was unfazed by my nosey cats, and was very thorough. The scheduling process is seamless, customer service is quick to help, and there is no hassle. Awesome job, every nook and cranny of my house has been dusted and cleaned. I keep noticing new things every day like, wow, they cleaned that too! Also nice little touches, like how they wiped down my windowsill with the plants and put down a neat and tidy paper towel underneath them all to catch dirt, or how they folded the towels in my bathroom like a hotel. I hired Ecoverde as a "treat yo self" gift and now I'm wondering why I've waited this long - the amount they cleaned in less than 2 hours would have taken me an entire weekend and it wouldn't have looked as good! I'm very satisfied with the quality of the work. They arrived 30 minutes early which was fine, I am sure if I wasn't home they would have just waited until the appointment time.

But what made me cancel my subscription was simply the sloppy cleaning. I had a girl living in my apartment during the second month, and two days after cleaning she wrote and asked me where she could find vacuum etc. I asked why since place had just been cleaned, and she responded that she didn’t want to bother me but that it felt like they hadn’t been there at all, she wanted to clean bathroom and kitchen and vacuum because it was so dirty still. I emailed the company that replied that “sorry, 24hour window to complain”. Then the last time I had them was before I moved back in, after the girl. It was all these places that simply wasn’t cleaned properly, bathroom, floor, kitchen. So I emailed them - six hours after they had left - and said that it was poorly done and that I wanted to end my subscription. They didn’t offer to clean better. They didn’t offer any refund. They just canceled subscription. Will never recommend them to anyone unless you feel like throwing $170 in a pond for nothing.

Ecoverde Maids is by far the most reliable and thorough cleaning service I have used in DC. In the 12 years I have lived in the District, I have worked with many agencies, and none have been as professional, pleasant to work with, prompt and fast as the wonderful women of Ecoverde. I hired them twice in the last year since we had a new baby and they were a lifesaver both times. The first was weeks after bringing home the new baby, when I just couldn't handle getting all the pet hair and dust up from my two floor, three bedroom townhouse by myself and the second was before we had out of town guests and a big gathering for our son's Baptism. Both times, the team of three came exactly when they were scheduled, spoke great English, listened to my instructions and requests, were kind to my baby and dog, and worked like magic to get the house spotless in no time. The bathrooms had some pretty bad residue in the shower and they made them look brand new. And man do we have a LOT of pet hair they were able to get up even in the random corners of the house.

I love when I come home to a clean apartment thanks to these guys. There's always a pleasant fragrance that lingers for some time after they leave. It's reassuring that I can get my work done and not have to worry about cleaning.

Ecoverde Maids is by far the most reliable and thorough cleaning service I have used in DC. In the 12 years I have lived in the District, I have worked with many agencies, and none have been as professional, pleasant to work with, prompt and fast as the wonderful women of Ecoverde. I hired them twice in the last year since we had a new baby and they were a lifesaver both times. The first was weeks after bringing home the new baby, when I just couldn't handle getting all the pet hair and dust up from my two floor, three bedroom townhouse by myself and the second was before we had out of town guests and a big gathering for our son's Baptism. Both times, the team of three came exactly when they were scheduled, spoke great English, listened to my instructions and requests, were kind to my baby and dog, and worked like magic to get the house spotless in no time. The bathrooms had some pretty bad residue in the shower and they made them look brand new. And man do we have a LOT of pet hair they were able to get up even in the random corners of the house.

The whole experience was easy peezy! I booked this from Florida for my son’s apartment in DC as a present for his birthday! Best gift ever!!! Emily and her husband did a beautiful job, showed up on time, and left the apartment smelling fabulous. This service will be a Christmas present as well.
