I asked Doug to inspect my chimney since we hadn't used the fireplace in several years. He arrived at the appointed time, thoroughly cleaned the fireplace and chimney and inspected it by running a video camera up the chimney and viewing the interior on a monitor in rel time. Doug then inspected the exterior of the chimney and identified several issues which needed to be corrected. His recommendations were reasonably priced and delivered promptly. I recently purchased a home and was not sure what shape my gas fireplace was in, or if it was even safe to use. The home inspector suggested I have it further inspected and serviced. Levi and Zach came out and really did a tremendous job inspecting and servicing my fireplace. We found that the fireplace is really for wood only, and not meant to be used the way it is set up. They capped off the gas line and cleaned everything up for me so now I can use my wood burning fireplace! Levi advised me in regard to the roof cap and the maintenance that often comes with homes my age, he built great report and impressed me with his knowledge. Now I have fireplace guys, and if I ever need anything else I will be calling them!

2017 update: Still using All American Chimney, just had them clean and inspect before the fall burning season. Dwayne came out and did an awesome job, was very courteous and cleaned up the fireplace nice afterward. Over the years they have installed a fireplace insert, new chimney Cap and sealed the brick outside, nearly eliminating brick spalling. All good quality work at a fair price. The Regency insert has kept our house nice and toasty in the winter for three years.

This is now our third year to have All American Chimney Service come to our home to clean our free standing stove and all I can say is, they do their work with excellence! We used to have other companies service our stove but there is no comparison. Dwayne Taylor was my service man and he actually took photos of my chimney pipes from the roof top to show me the condition they were in before he started. Great care was taken to cover the stove to contain any escaping cinders. The staff at All American Chimney is very professional and friendly. After getting several estimates for my chimney repair, I call All American Chimney Service. The person they sent out to give me my estimate was very personable, and knowledgeable. The type of brick on my chimney was no longer available, but they took extra measures to get the closest match possible. The installer was very police and his workmanship was very good. He matched the brick on my chimney so well, that you would never know it was not the same. The young man who came to seal and clean my chimney was also very polite. He cleaned and vacuumed all debris from my chimney and left everything very neat and tidy. I am very happy the work performed by All American Chimney. By the way, let me just say that I will not recommend someone if I am not truly happy with the work performed. But I definitely recommend All American Chimney Services.

We had just bought a house here in Kentucky, when shortly after the purchase, we saw a bad leak around one of the chimneys. Had three companies come out and only All American climbed up to look closely. It took a number of trips and a tad longer than we thought (weather did not always cooperate!), but both chimneys now have new caps, new flashing, and one relined. A special thanks goes out to Levi for his attention to detail and follow-up. I found you have to stay proactive with the scheduling folks...squeaky wheel gets greased.

Disclaimer: I didn't end up using their services. I called to get a quote on chimney repair. The guy who came out was really nice. He did some inspecting, but never got on the roof. I ended up going with a competitor because the competitor's quote was slightly lower, and the competitor got on the roof and showed me pictures/video of what needed repair. The quote this company provided was via email, but they also signed me up to their mailing list as well, which I'm not a fan of.

Dwayne came out for a routine cleaning/inspection, and ended up finding a major problem that required a new fireplace all together. Come to find out, we were dangerously close to causing a fire in our chimney. Obviously, I'm always skeptical when a tech hands me an estimate for a job that I don't understand, but he quickly put my nerves at east. He was able to show me on camera where the issue was, and took his time to answer every single one of my questions. He didn't push at all for the higher priced job, but instead offered advice when I started asking about other options. All Am Chimney has done excellent work for us. In our house they inspected the wood burning fireplace and chimney and recommended it be cleaned and resurfaced. They did an excellent job. They also inspected the gas log fireplace in the house and said it was in good shape and did not need immediate attention. The work was done as promised and they were neat, clean, and efficient. We moved to a condo and the gas log fireplace was old and leaked air through the damper and around the whole unit. They recommended we install a Valor direct vent fireplace. They installed that and they brought the chimney up to code. There was one service call afterwards to fix a stuck valve and they responded quickly to fix it immediately. They couldn't have done any better! They've been a pleasure to deal with.

A lightning strike severely damaged our chimney. All American Chimney was chosen to do the repair. Doug and his assistant came to assess the damage. They arrived in a clean, well identified truck, with uniform shirts displaying their names, and presented their company I.D. cards. They were both very professional and courteous. When the work began, Jason and Chris were very meticulous about protecting our landscape as well as indoor surfaces, as some work had to be approached from inside the fireplace. After being told by another company that our 35 year old brick would never be able to be matched, All American did a beautiful job of matching the "unmatchable". The end result is a very handsome, two story chimney with new chimney cap. Subsequently, Doug has been back on the roof to inspect the work by his workers as well as some shingle work done by a roofing company around "his" new chimney. I would highly recommend All American Chimney Service. They are knowledgeable, courteous, clean and professional. When they left our home, there was no debris or damage to our property. These guys were GREAT!

I can highly recommend All American Chimney Service; firstly, I was most impressed by the fact that someone actually answered the telephone when I first called them; and secondly, they were the only company out of several I called that actually responded to my inquiries regarding repairing my chimney. The technician, Jeramie, was professional and did a thorough inspection of both the chimney, the fireplace and the areas that vented into or through the chimney before he wrote up the estimate, so as to be sure we were provided with the services we needed. The technicians came on the agreed date, did the repair work and completely re-built the entire chimney. It looks great and while the cap was optional, I'm glad we spent the money for it as it finishes the work and makes the chimney and roof line look so much better than the old, original chimney that was once there. (The cap also provides both water-proofing for the chimney interior and prevents animals from entering; very important with all the squirrels that live in Crescent Hill!) The technicians even saved the original chimney pots for me so I could use them as "architectural salvage sculptures" in my yard. The office people phoned regularly to follow-up with the work and to be sure I was satisfied with the services provided. As I stated above, I am truly impressed with this company and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone who needs chimney services!

During the purchase process of our home we had another company come out initially that told us our chimneys were fine. I was not completely convinced, so fortunately I contacted Doug at All American Chimney Service and he came out on short notice to complete a Level 2 camera inspection. What he found was that both chimneys needed to have work done to be operated safely within national code, and one of them actually had a thermal crack internally that ended up being an insurance claim for the seller. With Doug's help in preparing an excellent report and working with the insurance company he saved us thousands of dollars in repair costs. Doug is extremely professional and has an amazing knowledge of fireplaces and safety codes. He was great to work with and truly seemed to want to make sure that we were happy with the end result. We had work done on two fireplaces as well as having our chimney extended three feet to meet building code. We are very pleased with the work that All American Chimney completed at our home, and are most excited about the gas fireplace insert that we had installed in our main living area as an upgrade to our home to create a more efficient heat source. It is a beautiful Valor unit and we are looking forward to using it this winter. We kept our basement fireplace wood burning, so we had HeatShield applied to the interior of that flu to fill any voids that existing. We are certainly looking forward to being able to safely use that fireplace as well.

I called All American Chimney Service in Louisville, KY about two weeks ago to get pricing and to schedule an appointment for service. The young lady I spoke with was very nice and spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me going over their services and pricing. She even applied a $10 military discount. The price that was agreed upon was around $150 for a cleaning and inspection of two fire places. On the phone she had me describe my house (one story, two story, brick or siding etc.). I stated “I have two fire places, they are stacked on top of each other. One is on the main floor and the other is in the walk out basement”. After our conversation we set the appointment for October 31, 2017 at 0900. Two guys showed up this morning at the scheduled time and both were very polite and had a professional appearance. After a few minutes of talking one of the gentlemen got a latter and climbed up on the roof and started the inspection process. The other guy asked if I knew the pricing and I stated “around $150”. He stated that the price was for one fire place and the other fire place would be an additional charge of $99-$115. I told him I was quoted around $150 for both and then I called the main office to verify the price I was quoted. I spoke with the office who put me through to a manager to address my concern. I asked the manager if they recorded the calls to verify the price I was quoted. She advised me that they do not record the calls and the young lady who initially quoted me had been with the company for a while and knew the pricing. She said it may have been a misunderstanding and stated the prices were set. I then advised her that I would have their technicians stop working and leave my home. She didn’t try to resolve my issue. It felt like the company was trying to do a bait and switch. I took off work to have this service performed. I chose to go with a larger company to avoid those types of tactics. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Or, at the very least get a quote in writing before you have any work scheduled or performed.
