We took possession of a house cleaned by Cottage Care. There were- Dead bugsin the sliding doors tracks Dirty moldings at the top of all door frames Dust dust behind every toilet Dusty shelves at the back of every built in Piles of dirty/scum under and being the refrigerator Grease/scum under the stove Cob webs in corners and dust of every room I would not recommend this company for a clean out of a sold or rental property.

Good customer service is oftentimes rare these days, but not with Cottage Care. Staff are on time, considerate, detailed and friendly. There are no contracts to sign and they are extremely flexible with scheduling and the type of work needed. I would not use anyone else - my home shines after they've cleaned. I also trust the people they send over, they are honest and considerate - I have no problem letting them into my home, which they treat and clean as if it is their own. Thank you, Cottage Care!

I've used 3 or 4 cleaning services prior to Cottage Care and none of them compare. The same woman comes every other week and she does an amazing job. Had them clean before I put my house on the market. They said they’d do baseboards and floor ect. Baseboards covered in dust still. Floors mopped but still dirty where something was spilled. I’m not sure what they did for 4 hours. Way too expensive for what I got. I will be calling to make a complaint also.

Wonderful Service - Great Communication! We hired Cottage Care for monthly cleaning of our apartment. This was our second attempt at using a cleaning service in the Des Moines area and we were so thankful for the effective communication, respect of our things, and very reasonable price. Compared to our previous service, Cottage Care was outstanding. We live in an apartment complex which can be challenging to navigate and we have an exterior door that requires a person to "buzz in" to enter the building. From the first cleaning, the Cottage Care staff were well prepared for our location and the required steps that were necessary to get to our apartment. We had an issue with our exterior door once and the Cottage Care staff handled the matter politely and appropriately. Thank you to all of the great staff we encountered through Cottage Care! Let me start out by saying I don't post reviews at all but I absolutely had to rave about this cleaning service! The staff is wonderful and attentive. From the women I speak to on the phone for scheduling to the very hard working staff member who has been taking care of my parent's home...They're great. Their rates are reasonable and I LOVE the way the house looks after it's freshly cleaned. The worker who comes here works incredibly diligently and spends extra time to make sure everything looks perfect. It means a lot to me as I have elderly parents who need the extra help. I've tried other cleaning services and they are nowhere near this level of professionalism.

I am really happy with Cottage Care... after years of thinking about hiring a cleaning service, we finally decided to do it, and now I'm kicking myself for not signing up sooner! We have Cottage Care come every two weeks to clean bathrooms and the kitchen, and it's the best feeling to come home and see that the chores I really hate to do are already done! I like that Cottage Care has no contracts and we can schedule service on any rotation (weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc.) with no issues. The staff is friendly and courteous. no complaints at all, just wish I had signed up sooner.

I was so excited to finally have someone come deep clean those dreaded areas of my home. You know those bathrooms that never seem to get very clean no matter how often you clean them. I was referred to Cottage Care by a friend and coworker. I had no idea what it should cost to clean but I have friends who have had their houses, entire houses cleaned for $100 and I was looking at around $75 for only 3 rooms. So that was a little disappointing but I was hopeful that for that price they would be immaculate. They did a good job. The tile floors and walls in the bathrooms were clean but not spotless. The staff person was nice and she spent some time on each room. I think my expectations were higher. Would I use them again? Yes probably for special occasions to surface clean. I need the extra special attention to those little details. Like ensuring the wood blinds are dusted all the way to the end not just in the middle and the tile floors and tiled bath areas are scrubbed in the corners just as hard as in the middle.

Worst cleaning service i have ever experienced. If someone steals from you they will say you're lying and not do anything but tell you to file theough your own insurance. Thats the only reason they are cheep. You get what you pay for. They also treat their employees like slaves so I dont blame the employee who stole from me. What a terrible company.

Everywhere was dusty after cleaning and when I asked her clean again she didn’t care ,after 6 hours house cleaning my house still was dusty and bathroom door had spots that I had to clean by myself. Next day I called them that I wasn’t satisfy with your service but their manager Talked with me bossy and very mean ,and he didn’t want to satisfied me . He told me everybody satisfied from our service . I don’t recommend cottage care at all.

The person who cleaned our place did a pretty good job. They got the rust out of the kitchen sink and all the grime off of the chrome and grout in the vanity. The toilets were very clean. I don't even know how to do some of the cleaning that was done. There were a few things missed. Each bathroom had 1 dirty corner. The lampshade was still full of bugs and dust. The tops of the showers and behind the shower caddy were not cleaned. However, I was able to fix all of those things in 40 minutes. There were no chemical smells, and the cleaner was nice.

I hired Cottage Care two days ago for a move out cleaning based on a recommendation from a friend. First, the referral discount does not work on a move out cleaning so don't expect that. The biggest issue is I still ended up cleaning after hiring a "professional" service. My realtor called to inform me that the photographer had said there is a strong cat litter smell when you walk in the house...extremely embarrassing! The corners in the half bath (cat litter location when I lived in the house) were missed, behind the sink and toilet were not cleaned, they basically just skipped the hard parts. In addition to the half bath, there were many other areas that were half done. Also, the baseboards and outside of cabinets appear to not have been cleaned. It looks like they came in, vacuumed, wiped down the hardwood floors, wiped down the counters, and took the check. The house was just surface cleaned which I could have easily done myself. I hired a professional company for what I expected to be a professional job and got a half-ass job for full price (plus a tip). Do not hire this company unless you are satisfied with not so professional quality. My friend who recommended them has also had to clean after they came to his house. He will also be reaching out to let them know of his dissatisfaction. Why hire someone when you just have to do the work anyway? That's what you'll get with CottageCare. Update: within a few hours of posting this review the local office called me to apologize and give me a full refund. I really appreciate the quick response and remedy to the situation. Thank you!

If I could give a zero star I would. The very first time I had CottageCare come out to my house, I went over what was to be done, with dusting being the most important due to allergies. The person that came out, did not dust at all. She dusted the top of the coffee table, but nothing else. We did not make another appointment, but after a week the office called and we expressed our dissatisfaction with the cleaner (Kaci, I believe). Apologies were given, and were told that there would be TWO people coming out to clean for the next appointment, the previous girl would not be the one to clean, AND all the dusting would be done -- especially the light fixture above the dining room table and was guaranteed - apologizing profusely. When the appointment came, only one person came out to clean, and was the same person. This time, the result was worse than before. None of the dusting was done - our dining room table was still dusty, the hutch hadn't been touched -- and that light fixture that was discussed and promised -- NOT TOUCHED!!!!! Unfortunately, the cleaner left before we were able to express our dissatisfaction, and we again called the office and spoke with Jill. Jill apologized AGAIN, and we were told that a new girl would be out to give the house a "second round" of cleaning. The appointment was made, and my significant other made arrangements to be home while they were there for the duration. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, no one was there and no phone call was made from either the cleaning person -- NOR the office. My significant other doesn't have a lot of time off, and he wasted an entire morning waiting for this cleaning company to arrive, make good on their promises with nothing in return. I called the office when I was told no one showed, and talked to Jill -- AGAIN apologized. i stated that we have paid close to $300 to their company, with shotty cleaning, and unmet promises. We gave them several attempts to make it right, with continued let-downs. I wonder how accurate the 5 star ratings really are for this company. Management has no control over their employees, employees that do not care about the quality of work they do, and the continued unmet promises we have received from this company. UPDATE: We received a phone call from an employee with the company with a statement that started with, "...The owner of the company would like to know if we gave you 3 free cleanings, would you take down your negative review..." 1. If it meant that much to the owner, why didn't the owner call? 2. You didn't clean the first 2 times, what makes me think that 3 "free" cleanings would be any better? 3. Remove my name and never call me again....

I am extremely picky when it comes to cleaning. I hired Cottage Care to clean my floors and scrub my bathrooms. When I came home, I immediately got down on the floor and looked for the glare off my hardwoods to see if there were any smudges or missed spots. I was pleasantly surprised that there were none. Then, I took off my socks to walk around barefoot to just make double sure that I couldn't feel any dirt on my feet. Still nothing. My toilets and showers were all sparkling as well. I am very happy with Cottage Care!

Our house smelled great and was very clean! I couldn't believe they got all the dog hair out of the carpets. Their vacuums must be fantastic because the carpets were cleaner than I've ever seen. My husband and I are very busy and rarely have time for deep cleaning so it was wonderful to come home to a spotless house. It will be worth it to have them come monthly and not have to worry about those things. Plus, it forced us to tidy the day before :) Not least of all, the staff were very nice when I met them at the house and they were very sweet to my dog, who was hanging out in the living room while they were there.
