I had a thoroughly unsatisfactory experience with this company. Granted, my house was quite dirty, but I was clear about this when I contacted them. The cleaners complained that the dust aggravated their asthma (!). They charged me for 2.5 hours of cleaning, didn't finish the job (but didn't tell me before they left) and left obvious dust and dirt even in the rooms that they "finished". The only relief they offered was to send the cleaners back out to redo the work, which was not an option. Bottom line, I paid $250 and had to go back and redo virtually everything they "finished." I awarded the service one star only because they did a good job on the tub and the microwave, and the personnel was nice - but that's not worth the cost. Would not recommend.

We had the Cleaning Authority for about a year and the service is inconsistent at best. The teams are very nice and friendly but they whip through the house in 90 minutes, wipe most surfaces but no attention to detail - forget cleaning corners of floors, counters or bathtubs without reminders. They leave things scattered as if to prove they wiped surfaces. Shutters and blinds left crooked, big areas missed completely. When we called to let them know, someone would come back and go over missed areas but what’s the point of that? Waste of time. Starting over and finding someone new is a pain in the neck so unfortunately, we accepted sloppy work and low standards. Our home is well kept and should be a pretty easy job. Cleaning Authority does not have vacuum cleaners that work well and apparently, no plans to address that. The girls complained the vacuums are not good. When we asked if a stronger machine was available, we were told no but they would use ours - um, doesn’t a quality cleaning company usually bring their own equipment? Since they don’t have decent vacuums, we were asked if we wanted to go ahead and cancel our service with them, which we did. The next week, we purchased a heavy duty Dyson and since we didn’t want to start all over with a new company, we called back to restart service (given we would provide the vacuum) no return call. I called again and asked to speak with Greg specifically and was told he would call back within 24 hours - no return call. We’ve since made other arrangements but want to warn prospective clients - do not waste your time if you want a truly clean house. The Cleaning Authority in Newark has gone downhill and a big dissapointment. It appears they aren’t interested in doing the job they promise in their marketing. Thanks Greg. Very sad.

Update 6/2017. I am not pleased with this service. I will call them when they open today. My "clean" this week was not the best. The policy that you will have one person the same every clean seems to have been eliminated. Also, the rotation that was "living room" the people who come to the house now call "dusting". Every clean is a toss up. My last one in May was outstanding. This week 1 person had been here before and every thing she did was done with care. The other person doing the "dusting" does know the meaning of the word. When I pointed out numerous items not dusted she told me she was "new" and another time "I've never been to your house before". After pointing out a low, glass shelf not dusted she told me that's something I'd usually use a feather duster on but you said you don't want a feather duster used! I explained that doesn't mean I don't want it dusted. Last, I have 2 bedroom nightstands that for some reason don't get dusted. I've even had supervisors come back who dust them & say they'll put a note on my clean file. Original post: We are very happy with this service. I especially like that at lest one person is the same every clean. She's usually the one who does the "rotation" clean and makes sure it is done properly. If it weren't for these rotations and the lead person's attention to detail, we wouldn't be as happy with service. If there is ever anything that we are not completely satisfied with, after a call to tell them, it's done perfectly every time afterwards. I love that the house doesn't smell like chemicals afterwards.

We used the cleaning authority for about a year or so for monthly cleans. They did not pay attention to detail and I had to call them on several occasions to complain that the place wasn't cleaned thoroughly (i.e. glass shower doors not clean, shelves in tub not clean, grout in tub not clean, furniture not dusted or wiped, floors still dirty, dust balls on the stairs, spots in the kitchen sink and appliances). I also had to request management to come inspect the home and come back to clean it a few times while we retained them. To make matters worse, I scheduled a move out clean and was charged over $200 for the clean to find out they did a poor job (blinds had spots, oven wasn't cleaned out, fans were dusty, basement wasn't swept). When I called to talk to management about the issue and potentially getting a discount for the service, I received the WORST customer service from Greg who I believe is the owner. He was very defensive and unprofessional. He also accused my landlord of lying about the clean not being done properly. I do not recommend spending your money on a cleaning service that does a mediocre job and has bad customer service, especially from the owner of the business. There are definitely other options you can choose from.

Greg is so willing to work with you and if you feel something wasn't done right he will send someone out to check right away I can say that over the 14 years of service I called maybe 2 times. Over the years I have had to make changes on dates of service, times, etc and they have been more than helpful even when I gave short notice they were so courteous . We are moving out of state that is the only reason I am sad to say we won't be using there services.

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a cleaning service. The only thing more appalling than the poor quality of cleaning and damaged household item is the customer service. The owners are rude and unapologetic and don't stand by the business philosophies outlined on their website. Do not expect them to clean everything they tell you they will clean (see other similar reviews), don't expect them to send out a team to finish the job at no extra cost as indicated on their website, don't expect for things they disassemble to be reassembled, don't expect them to report any damage they cause or offer an associated discount. What you can expect is a headache. Terrible people, terrible service.

Not please with this company at all. My house can not be cleaned in an hour , no way no how but they seem to think what they do is cleaning.. I have left things just to see if they get picked up or moved to clean and were still there when I got home. Hair on my bathroom floor, pictures broken, curtains left open after they clean, after dusting they do not put things back. I have complain twice, the third time I said I'm done! The only thing I was offered was a new team..

I called for an estimate and gave an appointment but never showed up or even called to cancel. I had to change my schedule to be home and wait for them! When I called the owner( very rude and doesn’t have even the minimum customer service skills) told me that a month ago I asked for an estimate online but never returned their call!! So what!? I called again and you gave me an appointment and never showed because of that?!! When I said that he tried to accused me of yelling which I wasn’t of course. I don’t understand how an owner speaks with new customers that way. He sounded really young guy. Maybe when he grow up he will understand how business works. I’m a business owner myself and will never do that to any customer especially new ones.

Gave them a real chance. They only do surface cleaning, no attention to detail. I watched them come into my property and leave within one hour. I have a three story house. It is impossible to clean my house properly in one hour or less with two people. We had to tell them to vacuum mats, they never lifted and vacuumed under anything. Very poor service. I do not recommend them.

We have had the same crew leader for the last 4 years and appreciate the stability that comes with that. Our children look forward to seeing the crew before they go off to school. They are friendly, capable and do a good job cleaning. They help organize our things so the house always looks refreshing when we come home. I also like the lack of cleaning odors. In the rare occasion when something has been broken, they have reported it and reimbursed promptly for it. We are very pleased and have no desire to change anytime soon.

I used the Newark Cleaning authority for around 4 months (bi-weekly cleanings in a 2 bedroom apartment). Their cleanings were inconsistent, low quality, with zero attention to detail. I called them multiple times to describe the issues with their service, I left multiple notes for their cleaning teams describing what I would like done differently. My efforts resulted in little to no improvements in the quality of their cleaning. Surfaces were not wiped down, areas behind doors were not cleaned, minimal dusting, showers were given no attention to detail, blind were left bent, etc. That pamphlet they provide that outlines their tasks during each clean is basically false marketing. They didn’t come close to doing the majority of things they claimed they would do. The last time they cleaned, they only cleaned for about 20 minutes. That was 2 people Cleaning for 20 minutes and I paid $85....and I know for a fact it was only 20 minutes because I have outside security cameras, so I saw exactly what time they came and left. I’m sure you’re wondering how this company could have some really great reviews. Well, they run promotions to get customers to write positive reviews online. That’s why you’ll notice many of these 5 Star reviews are from very similar time periods. And to be fair, there could be some customers that are actually satisfied with a mediocre (at absolute best) cleaning service, they just may not realize how much of a rip off the Newark Cleaning Authority is. Not all Cleaning Authority locations are bad, in fact, the Newark Cleaning Authority is by far the worst Cleaning Authority I’ve seen. This location is so poorly run, it’s actually embarrassing. 100% the fault of management. Stay far far away from this cleaning service. There are far better options available. I wrote this review in hopes that others like me will not be fooled into spending money at this joke of a cleaning service.

Not all Cleaning Authority locations are bad, in fact, the Newark Cleaning Authority is by far the worst Cleaning Authority I’ve seen. This location is so poorly run, it’s actually embarrassing. 100% the fault of management. Stay far far away from this cleaning service. There are far better options available. I wrote this review in hopes that others like me will not be fooled into spending money at this joke of a cleaning service.

The Cleaning Authority (TCA) has been cleaning my home for almost two years now. I can not express how grateful I am to them. They help me immensely by cleaning my house every other week. I like to think that I am a typical man, where cleaning is not my specialty. I specialize in computers. TCA specializes in cleaning homes. It took me years of trying to stay on top of something I simply am not good at to realize that my time is much better spent doing what I am good at and letting them do what they are good at. My girl-friend would clean for me, but that is not how I wanted us to spend our weekends. TCA cleans my house from top to bottom is less than two hours. There is always at least two representatives, but sometimes they will send three. The customer service is superb. They are punctual and very much accommodating. I highly recommend them!

About one month later they used our home computer without permission. I called the company and emailed the computer history to the manager and there was no follow up.
