I hate to give a negative review and only do so after trying everything I can to resolve an issue. We were selling our house so we hired Merry Maids to thoroughly clean the house prior to having an open house. They said it would cost $75/hour after a $50 fee. I was fine with that but didn't know how long it would take to clean the house. They told me the fee is "retroactive" (not really an accurate definition, but what can you do) which, after talking to them meant, if I paid for, say four hours, but it only took two hours, they would refund the extra two hours ($150). I was fine with that so I booked them for four hours. They spent just under two hours at our house, then left. That evening, my wife and I spent two hours ourselves actually cleaning the house. They did a terrible job. But, lesson learned, I just wouldn't hire them again,... but I did want the "retroactive" refund. When I discussed it with them, they seemed genuinely concerned that they hadn't cleaned the house well and, instead of only refunding the extra hours, they said they wanted to refund the whole thing, less the $50 fee. I was impressed! They said I should see the credit on my debit card within a couple of days. Wonderful! Now,... looking back at my text messages so I can be accurate,... I checked back a week later to see if they had processed the refund. I got an immediate callback. He was apologetic and said he would take care of it immediately and if I didn't get it in a couple days to please let him know. Four days later, I texted him again,... then nine days after that... then two days after that... and then today (five days later). I have been ghosted. Oh, to be fair,... a couple weeks into it they did credit my account... for just the $50 fee (plus sales tax). I was confused, and they explained since it hadn't been working... since I hadn't gotten the refund that they processed,... they were just testing to see if it would work. They said I should receive the rest of the refund now that that worked. But, the bottom line is, they did a terrible job, they didn't refund the amount they should have even if they did a great job, much less refunding the rest that, although I did not ask for, they offered to refund. I do hate to give a bad review, especially when they sounded so sincere. I don't know if it was all a scam or simply a processing error, but the fact is, they have failed to deliver what they promised... from service to financial. I will not be calling them again, nor will I recommend them. If they do happen to follow through at some point I will be glad to update this review, but I'm not holding my breath. Just heard back from them. They showed where they have actually been trying to process the refund... over... and over... and over. They insisted they are still trying and would eventually have it processed. Call me crazy, but I actually believe them. Perhaps it is an honest mistake -- and I think it is -- and they just have the world's worst payment system. Well, I really am a sucker. I wanted so badly to believe in this company. Luke Fashaw seemed so genuine. Now,... I’ve been ghosted. Never, ever, believe anything the folks at this company say. They will string you along... and lie to your face. Lesson learned... I hope.

The ladies that cleaned were absolutely amazing. This review is not about them. This is about the sales people specifically Michael Dupree. Hang up the phone if you interact with this person. I specifically told him that I was moving out of an apartment and he told me everything the maids would clean. When the maids get there they told me that they were not informed this was a move out clean. I called Merry Maids back and the lady that answered wanted nothing to do with me after I told her what was discussed between Michael and I. She said there was nothing she could do because it was not her sale. Absolutely pathetic customer service and will never be using this company again. I was lied to over the phone by Michael Dupree. I strongly suggest looking into a different company aside from this one. The cleaning was excellent however the customer service is lacking tremendously.

If possible, I would give them zero stars. It was the absolute worse cleaning job in 16 years of having cleaning services. We paid $300 (which is a huge stretch for us) for 2 hour service and the job was terrible. They asked I take pictures of what needed to be addressed (which I did even though I do not have time to do as a working mom). They agreed to come back and complete the job, which I thought was good customer service but even with the pictures, the untouched areas were the same: food crumbs still on the kitchen floor, obvious dust on top of the printer/all over the desk/all over all shelves upstairs/rocker/shelves/bedside tables in the bedrooms and living room, soap scum in the shower, and unswept laundry room. My 13 and 19 year old boys can clean bathrooms, sweep and dust better, and I am not exaggerating. I will be calling tomorrow to ask for a full refund since I have to have another cleaning company come out and actually clean the house. Don't waste your money and time teaching them how to do basic cleaning. I read your response to my review. 1. The cleaning team was booked for 2 hours, but when I called with my concerns I was told they stayed only 1.5 hours and I was offered a refund for the difference of time. Had the team stayed the full 2 hours for which they were booked I am sure they would have done a better job. So when you state in your response to my review that they were at my house for 2 hours, make sure you have the facts: they were booked for 2 hours and stayed 1.5 hours, and did an incomplete job. 2. Are you seriously asking that I take time away from my work, lose hourly pay, in order to go show the cleaning crew how to clean? How would you feel if I did a terrible job nursing your loved one back to health at the hospital I work, then ask you to take time off of your job (and lose money) to come teach me how to be a nurse? Does that sound like good business? So I will be more than happy to be present for a 2nd redo if you are willing to pay me my hourly rate. 3. On the redo, I sent pictures and verbally listed the work that needed to be addressed. The only thing that they addressed was soap scum in 1 bathroom, none of the other areas. 4. When paying $300 for 2 hours of work, I think dusting tables and shelves would be a minimum. I do not need my toilet paper folded in a triangle with Merry Maids stickers on it when there is dust covering shelves and soap scum in the bathtubs. I am requesting a full refund so I can have another company clean my house. Thank you.

While setting up the appointment for the first time was a breeze as it was the first time I was using their service and everything looked professional and I thought they will clean it properly after charging do much but no the dusting wasn’t done on the shelves not all of them ,kitchen cleaning includes cleaning cabinets on the front but those weren’t touched ,the baseboards weren’t touched which is again included when I asked them again but they didn’t touch any baseboard st all...the flush wasn’t cleaned from behind the lower white part both bathrooms...plus they wanted to use the same mop they used on the bathroom floor on my living room wooden floor yuck....even though I could provide them with different mops which I did ...thank God I saw it ...overall I was thinking I could keep them in for weekly service but after this I’m not so sure...they r supposed to come and reclean all the missed areas and stuff if they do a good job of making it up to the service before then I’ll keep them on for weekly cleaning otherwise no ...so far I’m figuring out where do these good reviews come from

Not reliable. They called with a one hour window to show up, I waited over the hour, then called them. I was told they were in traffic and would be an additional 45min. I waited another hour, called them again (notice I am the one calling them)and was told "Sorry Darlin' they are still in traffic and will not be able to clean today do you want to reschedule?" Really? No offer to discount my service, nothing. There is no way I will ever recommend them to anybody. I understand traffic, I do live here. But c'mon, schedule your cleanings to allow for traffic! Don't make the customers suffer for your stupidity.

Not exactly what I expected when I signed up for "deep cleaning." Kitchen blinds were not completely cleaned. Floors still felt dusty. It was more of a superficial cleaning. Have to go back and scrub clean everything myself. After I posted the above, the manager herself came out and cleaned what I requested and I was satisfied. Nonetheless, not the "deep cleaning" that you, yourself, would do as the homeowner.

They company denies that they did it and claim that their staff does not clean TV's and refuse to acknowledge their mistake and atone for it. Aside from that major complaint, they did a fairly poor job overall. Not thorough and the staff claimed they were unable to do a good job because the house was too cluttered (it was not). Don't waste your time on money on them. Best case you get a mediocre, overpriced cleaning, worst case they ruin your stuff.

Then, I called Merry Maids and Justina came to my rescue. She has been a god sent. I always receive a reminder call, thou it is not always the time they announce, but close enough. I have given them multiple chances on different apartments and have to have someone go in after them and clean! Bugs on the floor, beds not made, paid extra for a fridge clean and it had to be redone! They give no refunds for services not rendered. I will never use them again!!!

Horrible cleaning. Two young girls did nothing but superficial cleaning even when they came back for a re-clean. I cancelled the service and was told that because I hadn't given 30 days notice, I would be charged for two additional cleanings that I won't be using. To say that I am angry is to put it mildly.

My experience was not good. Upon arrival I was to sign a paper. Granted I didn’t read it...I should have, but I wanted my house cleaned, and assumed it was a written okay for them to be in my house. When I made my arrangements I was told that they would clean floors, counter tops, the cabinet doors, window sills etc. I must say that I was appalled when I went back to my bedroom and there were dust bunnies in the hallway where the girl was mopping I also was talking to the other woman while she was mopping the kitchen, there was a white spot on the floor. I touched it with my toe, she said she couldn’t get it up. I went to the sink got a paper towel with one drip of soap and water on it and it came up with one swipe. (What did she have on her mop? Just water) it was the worst job of house cleaning I’ve ever seen. Oh, but what difference did it make because I was trapped in for 4 more “cleanings” or pay $385.00 to get out of the contract I signed (before I saw what a horrible job they do). After they left I took pictures of the dirty window sills and the cobwebs, the dust on the lower cabinet doors. If these people have to lean over or have to move anything in order to clean something... it won’t be cleaned. I paid the almost $400.00 so they would never come back. I would never recommend this company.

Horrible cleaning. Two young girls did nothing but superficial cleaning even when they came back for a re-clean. I cancelled the service and was told that because I hadn't given 30 days notice, I would be charged for two additional cleanings that I won't be using. To say that I am angry is to put it mildly.

My experience was not good. Upon arrival I was to sign a paper. Granted I didn’t read it...I should have, but I wanted my house cleaned, and assumed it was a written okay for them to be in my house. When I made my arrangements I was told that they would clean floors, counter tops, the cabinet doors, window sills etc. I must say that I was appalled when I went back to my bedroom and there were dust bunnies in the hallway where the girl was mopping I also was talking to the other woman while she was mopping the kitchen, there was a white spot on the floor. I touched it with my toe, she said she couldn’t get it up. I went to the sink got a paper towel with one drip of soap and water on it and it came up with one swipe. (What did she have on her mop? Just water) it was the worst job of house cleaning I’ve ever seen. Oh, but what difference did it make because I was trapped in for 4 more “cleanings” or pay $385.00 to get out of the contract I signed (before I saw what a horrible job they do). After they left I took pictures of the dirty window sills and the cobwebs, the dust on the lower cabinet doors. If these people have to lean over or have to move anything in order to clean something... it won’t be cleaned. I paid the almost $400.00 so they would never come back. I would never recommend this company.
