Updated Review: After posting the original review, I was contacted by Stanley Steamer directly. They offered to clean the couch again. Once I was able to find time to schedule, a different tech (a supervisor) was sent to work on the couch. Very pleased with the results. Much more knowledgeable and helpful, injecting solution into the couch to help with the problem. Based on the responsiveness of Stanley Steamer it is clear customer service is valued. Thanks for correcting the problem! Original review (1 star): In the past, we have used Stanley Steemer to clean our sofa and been pleased with the experience. However, this experience was not up to the same standards as previously. After spending $174 to have the sofa cleaned and deodorized, the smell and stain persisted after the couch dried. Having a dog in the house, sometimes things happen. On previous occasions, Stanley Steamer has injected solutions into the cushions on the couch to ensure thoroughly cleaning and handling the problem areas. On this visit, it was as if the main technician working on the cleaning did not seem to do a thorough job. Unhappy with the results, we used a spot cleaner to clean several areas on the couch again and the water suctioned back out of the couch clearly indicated a thorough job was not done in cleaning the couch. Perhaps the technician was too focused on getting finished for the day to make it home to watch football as well as rambling about how horrible our hardwood floors looked and how they must have been installed incorrectly, noting they must not have let the wood acclimate or moisture was coming in from the concrete slab. I don’t need a Stanley Steemer commenting on our hardwood floors when at our house to clean a couch. Having had the house built new two years ago and following the construction process thoroughly, we know first hand that the hardwoods were given several weeks in the conditioned house to acclimate before they were installed. Additionally, apparently the technician was incapable of noting the house is built with a crawl space and not on a concrete slab as we are the side of a mountain. I will think twice before I use Stanley Steamer again, or at a minimum, ask for a different Crew to be sent.

Overall great experience. I had a tenant who left a gummy, waxy substance all over my hardwood floors. I didn't think they would be able to be saved. Brett and Marjorie went to work and in no time they were looking as good as new. I would recommend them for sure. Friendly, prompt and professional. My only complaint is after they left and I was able to walk of my floors, I noticed a board coming up in my kitchen that was fine prior to the servicing.

Very nice and professional guys. Moved most furniture and cleaned under them. Cleaned and deodorized carpets. When they left furniture was back in place with protection under all the furniture they moved. They took there time and the carpets were cleaned very well and the deodorizer was very pleasant. Would highly recommend this company.

Updated- it seems they just had a bad technician. They contacted me and asked to come re do the cleaning, and Cody did an amazing job. He removed ALL the stains that remained, it was a huge difference having him there. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is that I should have gotten Cody as the technician from the beginning, they should all be like him. *************** Best to not waste your money. It was literally 30 minutes of setup, 13 minutes of cleaning carpet. They didn't open the closets to clean like I specifically asked. At the end I went to check because I didn't believe it was completed, and had to get him to go over the many spots left. He stated he tried but they wouldn't go away. I got him to go over again and they went away. The other helper Mike was very nice. But seriously, just save your money, wipe your carpet with moist rag = same result.

Just had my sister come up and clean my carpets after having Stanley steamer do it. It looked horrible the carpets were still dirty. The water my sister pulled back out of my carpet was disgusting and brown. The only reason I didn't have my sister, 'In Tech Carpet cleaning' do it the first time is because they live 2 hours away and i needed it done last minute. They were too busy. I do not recommended Stanley steamer.

Had them clean my carpets last Friday and will not hesitate to use them again. Excellent results and the 2 gentleman that did the job were respecstful. Just want to add that the stains I had in my carpets for 8 years are still gone, did not come back after drying. I am amazed and will recommend them to everyone I know.

We hired Stanley Steemer a few years ago because of some stains in our teenage boys' rooms. The cleaner "pretreated" some areas then "steam cleaned" the rest of the carpet in our three bedrooms. The guy did it so quickly that it would have been difficult for me to have vacuumed the three bedrooms in the same amount of time! My husband, who is a custodian, was not pleased with the quality of the work! The carpets did not look clean and the stains were not removed. The Stanley Steemer technician tried to tell me it was because the stains had been set in for too long! I had similar stains when I lived in Maryland and the steam cleaner company removed ALL of them! I felt like we wasted our money! I will never use the company again! I think I could have done a better job with a steam cleaner rented from Walmart!

I set everything up. My wife was the one that let them in to do the work. When the cleaners showed up they asked my wife if she would like pet deodorizer added never disclosing a price. To our surprise we received a $150 up charge. I have called Stanley Steemer’s 3 times now and they always tell me a manager will call me back. I have not received a call back yet. Very poor customer service!!!!!!! I wouldn’t recommend there service.

I called in to ge my sectional cleaned. They did an extra service and told my boyfriend they would leave it at the same price. They ended up charging me $100 more than what I was already paying for. I called customer service multiple times and they never helped me whatsoever. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

My carpets were so dirty. Four grown men tromping through my living room in work boots. The SS team came from Birmingham. I had set my appointment for first thing in the morning so I wouldn't have to miss a full day of work. They informed me they were in transit and gave a close estimation of arrival time. When they arrived we set a game plan and they went to work straightaway. They were super professional and did a great job! My carpets look great and my house smells so good. Oh and I should mention they are always running specials so it's super affordable and the customer service team is top notch.

Very pleased today with the cleaning of my carpets. We have asphalt in our condo driveway and of course it tracks in. The guys did a super job with older carpet. I went with the deodorizer and stain guard. Glad I did. I would recommend this company to anyone. Great job!

Jacob and Matt were great! They gave me a courtesy call 30 minutes before arriving and were on time and professional. They were very helpful and explained how each carpet treatment would work. I moved out of town and hired Stanley Steemer to come in and clean the carpets. First, they got there and upcharged me. Not that big of a deal, but when I got back into town the AC had been turned from 76 degrees to 65 degrees and the utility bill had spiked by $150 during the time when the unoccupied home should have been extremely low. I was told that this is company policy and that was't their problem. They did offer to come out and do it again, however another company came out and did the work properly so that wasn't needed. I can't believe the service or lack of service that was provided... This company needs help!

Not impressed they did a half job for $89. Did even lift all of the furniture. I wish I was here when they did it. They wouldn’t have gotten paid until it was all complete. Never again. They also did not put the plastic blocks under my wood tables. That’s because they didn’t clean under there. I called but he said they could come back within 10 days to fix it. I want it fixed right now. I’ll buy my own steam machine!

two weeks after using stanley steemer, carpet looked as bad as before. rented a rug doctor and was amazed at the dirt left in the carpet. -1 star for stanley steemer

They did a great job and got out a stain that the last place I used couldn’t even budge! They were quick and courteous. The carpet is extremely wet when they’re done but we used several fans and it was dry by the next day. Carpet looks great.

Called them to have my husband's seats and floors done in his vehicle, and while everything was still wet, it overall looked good... When everything was dried, that was a different story. Some places they didn't even touch, and other places were still bar. We went to Dollar General, and paid $5 bucks for turtle wax carpet cleaner, and man oh man it works magic!!! Never again will I waste money on Stanley steamer. (ALSO, they left the few personal items of my husband's on the ground outside scattered everywhere.... Getting all his personal papers SOAKED.)
