Hello, I'm the mother of two special needs angels, my Son, and now, unfortunately, my husband who was in an auto-accident that left him mentally and physically disabled. It has been very hard to trust cleaning services since they come when I'm working with only a nurse aid at home help with my Son and Husband. But I had to trust someone to clean our home because I couldn't do it anymore and everything else. I hired Maids In America's maid service thinking they would raise the price after they actually started because their price seemed low. The first day, one of their girls, Laura, stayed on hour later after her cleaning partner left. She said she wanted to stay a few minutes longer so she could map out areas to clean that they need to make sure they don't miss and that they always did this for regulars. Ok, sounds good. Lol. Since then it's been Laura always and occasionally a different girl with her but mostly Lisa. No matter what Laura comes to clean with her assistant and her check list that is for our home. She leaves a copy once they are done cleaning and notes anything they found that is an issue like a sink doesn't drain or something. Laura is a wonderful organized maid and I hope Maids In America doesn't forget it's people like her that make the difference and give me hope that I can handle the challenges I face everyday because I have someone helping me that I can trust. I live in a dorm on the UA campus and decided my suite needed a good cleaning and disinfecting from al the sickness (flu/mono) that's been going around the campus. When the lady came in from Maids in America she was very professional and nice. She immediately went to work and spent 3 1/2 hours cleaning and disinfecting everything down. I immediately felt better and it smelled so clean and refreshing. Thank you for making my dorm suite feel like home. I will use them agin when I move in to my apartment in the fall. Thank you so much.

This has to be the best cleaning company in the area. I say this because I've used them all it feels like. I purposely skipped these guys because about 6 years ago a friend of mine had a bad experience with them even though they did refund him promptly. Well I finally got around to trying them a couple months ago because I was fed up with the other services and it was down to them and one other to try - lol. Wish I had tried them earlier because they have cleaned my home 5x now and I can truly say they are more detailed and by far respectful/well mannered and polite. The maids, Cindy and Becky, communicate with me every time about a tub they couldn't get 100% or something that wouldn't come off a baseboard - etc and it's refreshing, very refreshing to have that level of communication from a maid service! Fantastic company!

Wow... Didn't think their high tech carpet cleaning would work. I'm used to truck mounts but I'll try anything I guess...lol. Carpet is cleaner and dried faster then the big truck mount company left it last time!

Will not use again. They showed up with a carpet cleaner that looked like it was rented from a store. They were in and out in under 30 minutes for my entire house. I had to catch them before they left to come back and hit several spots that they had missed. Big dry spots in the middle of my floor. My carpet was wet for a day and a half. It appeared as they didn't suction anything up and I could not tell it had been cleaned at all. I ended up calling another company to come out and clean it again.

A while back around 2014 we hired Maids In America to develop procedures for cleaning our offices and plant break rooms and restrooms. I happened across them from a "sister company" rep that told me about them in Tuscaloosa. At the time they didn't service Indianapolis but the procedures they put together were spectacular. Until 2016 we, having been fed up with contracting out, used or own custodial department to clean and follow the procedures which made a big difference in quality. Then in 2016 Jim at Maids In America told me that a long term project he had been working on - Engineered Clean division - was ready for Indianapolis and his business partner - Susan - had family in the area that would handle the Indiana region. We went ahead and moved the custodial people into building maintenance and brought Engineered Clean in and have been very happy since they created all the procedures in the first place. The procedures - all visual - are really neat and now they are on tablets instead of laminated cards - either way they work and my experience has been exceptional.

We have been using Engineered Clean for our manufacturing plant in Birmingham,AL for years and are now starting them in our Indianapolis plant. I'm crossing my fingers they can perform as well in Indianapolis as they have in Birmingham. Some local references such as Eli Lilly have helped with our comfort level and the fact they have been great in Birmingham for quite a while!

First of all, they were hired for a deep clean for a rental house turnover. They arrived late then continuously complained about having to hurry to get to their next job (this was apparently my problem). Only two people showed up for a deep clean and only stayed three hours for an 1,800 SF rental house. Furthermore, one of them only walked around and took care of the toilets (that’s all). I am now having to hire someone else to clean the house because it was absolutely not acceptable. Do not hire them if you would like a quality job. There was dirt left in the drawers, lint still on the floor and the mirrors were streaky. This is only a small sample, because I could honestly not tell that they cleaned anything other than the refrigerator. When they told me they were done and wanted to perform a walk through, we were standing next to a giant dirt spot on the tile. I asked if it couldn’t be cleaned then I easily wiped it up with a damp paper towel….Never have I experienced someone so lazy and incompetent. They simply don’t care about providing a good service to their customers.

Not sure which office to post this review on so I'll do both since I think they have some of the same great maids at both. This was a present for my wife in 2011 and we have been using Maids In America since then to clean our home monthly and extra during holidays. Last New Years our carpet got destroyed with a bunch of food and liquor getting dropped on it from a fight between two guests. The guests will never come to our home again but that didn't fix the problem of the carpet being destroyed. I normally don't use Maids In America for carpet cleaning but the other company I use was tied up. I called them and they brought over a smaller cleaner that looked high-tech but the size made me worry about how powerful it was. Well it did wonders and the carpet was completely recovered! I discovered something new about Maids In America - they can do carpet and do it well!

Engineered Clean...Maids In America... has been a solid company even if imperfect from time to time. Sometimes we get frustrated with them but the thing is over the last several years I can count the bad cleaning days on one hand. My company has their other division clean our offices in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham but I didn't think their maid service would be quite as good. It is! They really have it together. The ladies that came to my house did such a wonderful job! My house looks as good as the day I moved in! After they left I went through the copy of their checklist they gave me and checked: - The ceiling fan blades - Top of door frames - baseboards - even under the cabinets - Corners behind doors All of them where cleaned perfectly. I've dealt with another cleaning company in town that is a chain and seemed very nice and credible but Maids in America is much more detailed and the price was better to boot. I recommend them to anyone looking for the deepest possible clean with a great price. The owner called me personally the next day to make sure I was happy as well! :)

At the end of July we had another cleaning company quit - disappear - meltdown - while cleaning our units. We have hundreds of units in Tuscaloosa. So it was late on July 31st and the previous cleaning company left us high and dry with almost 70 units to finish. I picked up the phone and called Maids In America who I figured was too busy to handle this last minute. They where but Susan, the owner, sent two of her regular cleaners and a bunch of trainees - explaining to me this would a great way for her company to break in a bunch of trainees and, at the same time, help us. Well in the evening of August 2nd, 2018 every unit was done and only a few move-ins cancelled! The units where cleaned very good and Susan's regular people touched up a bunch of them yesterday since it was last minute/adhoc it wasn't perfect...lol I'm very glad that I found a trustworthy maid service company that backs their word. I highly recommend Maids In America.

Instant Steam Clean - Part of Maids In America came to our house last week to clean 5 rooms of carpet. The tech was very knowledgeable, checking off every detail about my carpet and types of stains before he started. When he finished he walked through the house with me and got all the stains and soil out with the exception of this very old ink stain that will probably never come out! I was very happy - they left me quality control sheet listing out the services they provided, even listing the chemicals they used - all green / eco friendly too! They used what they called a Green Rated carpet steam cleaner... I think they used the word "extractor" - it did a wonderful job and was much better then the last carpet company I used. It only took 2 hours to dry even though they told me it would take about 4 hours! Great Job! I will use them again! I just had some guests over and I'd just like to add they mentioned how great the carpet looked and smelled!

I am very pleased with Engineered Clean one of their divisions so I believe this is the right place to post this. They started in July with the quality inconsisten at first but it has improved to excellent. I have a feeling that we will continue to see excellent work now that they have worked through a few minor bugs. I will rate them at where they are now since I'm confident they will keep this up. Thank You Jim and Susan for trouble-shooting and resolving some of the issues first encountered with the cleaning!

The two ladies that came to my house were pleasant. They should have been finished by 2:00. Instead they left for another appointment. They returned @4:30. One maid left @5:00. The refrigerator wasn't properly cleaned, the top had dust. The oven was cleaned but not the stove back splash. They forgot the baseboard in the bathrooms, corners in the bathroom floors weren't cleaned. In the 5 hours they just dusted, vacuumed, cleaned the bathrooms. Forget the laundry room. I was very disappointed that I paid $250 for a deap clean. 2 of my bedrooms were empty They only needed dusting. My Reason for a deep cleaning was because I am having hip and knee surgery. I will not use them again. I dont want tohear about a tutorial and walk thru. The manager/owner called to get my $$ before 2:00.

I use their East location but I know it's all the same company whether in Northport or East Tuscaloosa. Fantastic cleaning quality - A+ on pretty much everything other than being on time... lol. Definitely will keep using them even if they are a little late sometimes. Definitely recommended.

The house we rented out was trashed by our tenants. Water damage on floors and carpet, a fridge that was growing some sort of new fungus and the smell of smoke and dog everywhere! We hired Maids In America expecting little help or improvement - we where shocked by the turn around! They need to have a TV show or something like 24hours from hell and back cleaning! lol Water damage - mostly gone - carpet - new again - dog and smoke smell - gone. I'm glad that I found Maids In America because I was just going to give up and see if a temp service could get me somebody to help. I have almost 15,000 square feet and eight - is enough - children so it's constantly in need of a good cleaning! I have been very surprised by their Engineered Clean division. We used them about 5 years ago on our campus when it was only Maids In America and was not completely satisfied with the consistency. We later reduced their load and split up our Neurology center among additional cleaning companies. About 3 years ago they moved us to their "Engineered Clean" division which was almost like a totally different company. Now they handle the entire Neurology Center and over the last two years they have been 90% or so consistent (very very good in cleaning). A very pleasant surprise and a great stress relief to me as the facilities manager!

My husband and I where ready to replace out carpet in our living room and hallway since they had been so trashed the last 3 steam cleaners couldn't make a big enough difference - the carpet still had embedded dirt in the entry ways and a bunch of black stains from my husbands work boots - he works in a coal mine. Anyway Jim from Instant Steam Clean - I think they are part of Maids In America - convinced me to let him use his really powerful detachable truck mount what ever that was. He brought it over the next day - a huge yellow truck mount machine that he brought close to the house and ran his lines from it into our house. About 90 minutes later he was done and the carpet looked great (but wet). Three house later it was bone dry and almost every stain was out - and all the dirt was out - it was sooooo clean and it smelled great! :) We didn't have to replace the carpet after all and it cost less then 100 bucks!

Never read anything about how great this company is with tile and grout but I tried them anyway. They brought in this weird looking machine with 2 rotating cylinder like brushes after they sprayed the tile and grout with a pump sprayer. The machine slowly went across the floor leaving previously black grout white. Everything came out really good and the grout is much better. They even showed me how to seal it myself. Thanks!

Accept my recommendations for Maids In America. They did a first class cleaning job on my home. At first I was "slightly" concerned as the girl - Marry - did not come in with a uniform - she was trained but new enough to be waiting on on her uniform. She said they order them which I understand. Well, not only was she very friendly and well trained as I could tell but two of the managers stopped by out of the blue to help guide her. I didn't think she needed any guiding and I didn't call them and ask for it but they came by anyway. They were very friendly and pointed out a few cobwebs to her that I would of never seen and showed her that the baseboards needed to be wiped in some areas vs just dusted which helped a lot. Quite impressive considering my home is a small 3 bedroom and the price was very competitive. The lady manager told me that she rotates around checking on homes randomly to keep the cleaning people on their toes and to help them get better. I told her I want the same girl back next time!

I have been with Maids In America for a long time. I go with who I'm comfortable and trust and they have always been honest and straight forward with me. When the cleaning job wasn't up to par they immediately fixed it - no questions asked. No hastle. We are probably their oldest customer from way back in 2007 when they were much smaller. Even though they have grown a lot and are growing nationwide I still get personal calls from the owner - Susan Ellis - to check up and see if they can improve anything during their bi-weekly cleaning of my modest home! Wow!

Here's my story... Three years ago we - at our factory - had 3 candidates to choose from since we were unhappy with our currently cleaning company - for a new contract. The first was, in our opinion too large and impersonal, and the other worried us as a certain "Service $X**" that was a candidate bad mouthed them. We went with the "Service..." company also because of price. Here's what happened: Within two months of bad service they came to us and said they couldn't maintain the quality that we expected at the price they "had to offer." I was enraged since they low balled everybody selling us on the fact that their "efficiency" created a lower price with higher quality. Hah. Big nasty old mops, some pinesol and walmart cleaning stuff later it was a joke. This company is a franchise which, unfortunately menas there is no actual corporate to complain to as they are all individually owned/operated. My advice - never use the company that bad mouths others! After a year of deception (we also found out they lied about many other things) we went back to the candidate that was higher and had been bad mouthed by these guys (what a mistake listening to bad mouthing). That was Maids In America / Engineered Clean. For the last two years cleaning has been excellent and predictable. I am giving them 4 stars because there is no such thing as 5 stars which in my book is like giving a 10 out of 10 ! Still 4 stars to me is excellent and reflects very positively on a trustworthy local company that does their job. Great job Maids In America! If the rating scale was 1-10 I would give them a 9!

Still using these guys - Their maid service is awesome and reliable. They use microfiber mops and dusters and have a great carpet steam cleaning service that always leaves our carpet clean, fluffy, and great smelling!

My girlfriend's mom suggested this company when we were moving out, and they did a great job. We had them deep clean after we cleared out our stuff, and it looked better than when we moved in. After my experience with Maids In America I would like to give them a big thumbs up with my "nobody is perfect" but attitude and customer service matters plug! These guys are busy - wow kind of busy and it showed with them having to re-schedule my cleaning at the last minute. My wife was not happy and I was ready to go somewhere else but instead I received a drop by from one of the managers (30 minutes after they said they would have to re-schedule) personally apologizing and saying hello to show me everybody is very important. It worked because nobody takes the time to come by to an angry customer - IN PERSON - so they can vent to their face...lol.. which my wife certainly did. I was given a free carpet cleaning (didn't want this option originally because of budget) and a discount on a new cleaning scheduled the next day. The next day the same manager came out with a trainee. I had no problem with a trainee since the manager was their assisting and showing her (after she cleaned an area) what she missed and how to do better on show soap scum and a very bad oven we had. My wife watched and took notes since some things were helpful to her as well (like getting rust off of stainless steel without breaking your back). The manager took the time to explain why they don't use bleach and what chemicals are safer and far more effective as well (my wife taking notes all the time). The end result was that it took longer to clean then promised (about 5 hours vs 3) but we got the discount and learned some valuable things by just watching the training in action. I run a service company myself and understand the "on time promise beating" a company can take when things get hectic - people calling in, somebody not paying attention and overbooking, the usual chaos that I deal with day to day. I'm left more impressed then if they had just made it on time in the first place because I got to see their customer service in action. It's easy running any kind of service company when things go your way but when they don't that's when you actually earn your keep. : ) They went to 2 stars and a "frown" to 5 stars and a happy wife because of how they made things right after stumbling. Great experience after all and it's good to see another service company that busts their butt like I do with my company!

Last year our corporate HQ added them as the cleaning service for our plants in Indiana and all is well. Six years ago we stopped contracting out cleaning companies and settled for the in-house University cleaning offered to all departments. Five years ago we decided to try more cleaning companies because we just weren't happy with the campus cleaning and our department had to pay for it even though it was "in-house." After going in circles we tested Maids In America for a month-to-month cleaning before we committed to a one-year contract. They were great once they started and we extended the contract - back then - to one year. Now we reached an agreement with them for five years!

I was so relieved when I finally got my house cleaned professionally. It was a fiasco but I had another cleaning company do a poor job and Maids In America was too backed up to get it done in the time frame I wanted. I used the other cleaning company - which looked good and advertised just as much - instead because of the delay but I was disappointed and out a lot of $$. After they didn't reply I called Maids In America again and took the date they gave me which was only two more days. They sent two girls who came in, took their time instead of rushing, and left my place clean with a really nice smell that they called their enzyme based cleaner. Also my hardwood was as shiny as if I cleaned it as I'm very particular and careful about how I clean it. Excellent job, highly recommended.

Such a good company! I'm not the best at cleaning for myself, so my mom hired them to clean my apartment recently. It's never been cleaner! My bathroom especially looked better than when I moved in. The floors shined, it didn't smell at all, and all the little hairs from shaving the sides of my head were completely gone. They even cleaned my toothbrush holder! I would definitely recommend this cleaning service to anyone, especially if you, like me, are a little lax with picking up after yourself. I promise you won't regret it!

About 5 months ago I and the other managers voted on a new cleaning company for our school. We needed a change and still ,by currenty policy, contract this out. We only gave Engineered Clean one week notice, which, at first, made things rough. Bob came over and setup diagrams (attractive, not ugly) on doors to restrooms and such - procedures for their cleaning people. The first two weeks didn't seem organized at all and we wondered if it was because Bob came up from Tuscaloosa (we are in Indianapolis) to set everything up. In fact we started to feel that unless we are in Tuscaloosa then we may not get the same claimed level of cleaning we read in reviews. After 1.5 weeks Jim came up - he is one of the partners I think but doesn't talk much about himself, he just rattles off cleaning nerd talk. Well - FINALLY - things came together very well much to our relief. In fact Jim told us that since our VCT floors were so level there was a better option then the usual burnishing them night/day just to keep them from falling apart from foot traffic. He said they are level enough for pure Urethane which he explained in a cleaning nerd way would withstand traffic for years and require little to no maintenance by his people and, even more important, would not start looking bad in between maintenance. It was costly but we did it and they never - never - never - look bad - weeeeee! Ok, I've written a mini-novel. We are a junior college and highly recommend Maids In America - Engineered Clean. If setup takes longer - be patient, it's worth it!

I like them far better then anybody I've used in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa especially over some of these "pretend to be big" franchises around here.

Their team handles our Indianapolis Indiana plant like the name "Engineered Clean" implies. Precise, organized, consistent, etc... I know their HQ is in Tuscaloosa but one of their operating partners - Jim - visits monthly personally to make sure that his supervisors are on top of their game. You won't get that in a franchise - only a corporate controlled cleaning office can do that. We used a franchise until we switched 18 months ago to Engineered Clean / Maids In America and will never touch a franchise again. They had no support and were following a connect the dots coloring book... I guess you could say they were "Two" small (hint) pretending to be more then a maid franchise.

They have it down both in system and technique and have gone so far as to allow us to use their documentation as an RFP for all our facilities. Right now they only service Birmingham, Indianapolis and Cork Ireland for us but we hope they expand more to include other areas of the country soon.

I would like to personally thank Jim for setting us up a nearly bulletproof cleaning crew and structure. He personally spent a great deal of time at our factory in 2016 and it's payed off as our visitors and employees are very happy with the cleanliness of the entire facility. Late last year he assigned Angela to inspect and train and it's been working out great. They have a very neat system of visual charts and tablets that give them real time updates on where each cleaning person is and if there are problems. It's like Janitorial in 2017 vs the dark ages as we have been in the past with other companies.
