I started out seeing a chiropractor after a really nasty car accident. I couldn't sleep, I was sore all the time. My work suffered, my personal life suffered until I felt amazing, younger than I did before the accident. After my case settled I didn't come for about a year and fell. I knew I shouldn't have waited so long. Currently, I see the Doctor twice a week now and eventually, I know, the frequency of my visits will diminish. But, I do not think that I will entirely eliminate an occasional adjustment or two— just to keep my new younger feeling neck and back healthy. I have truly become a firm believer in taking care of oneself from the inside out! There's nothing like finding a great doctor (or two in this office!!) who cares about you without pushing you to be who you aren't. The lovely, friendly staff doesn't hurt either!

I made an 8:15 appointment, which is rather early for me (I get off work at 10:30 pm in Seattle). I had made a few mistakes and scribbled on my patient form and instead of making me re-do the entire thing, the receptionist rewrote everything over for me and just had be review it. I have never had that happened before, shows they really like things to be neat. My first appt was very thorough. It was almost 2 hours but I felt like they cared and wanted to get down to what was causing my pain. Some history: I was 28 weeks pregnant and my hips were killing me. Every night when I crawled into bed I couldn’t get out unless I was helped out. I could barely walk some days. After Dr.Justin saw me and adjusted me OH MY GOSH! It was the first time in my pregnancy that I was able to get into bed and get up when I needed to pee without any pain! They were very careful and caring that I was pregnant and didn’t want to have any harm towards my unborn son. It’s been over a week since I had my first visit and I still feel amazing! I am going to keep coming back

I don't generally write reviews of non dining businesses unless they are truly warranted. That being said, I've been meaning to write this one for awhile and now is the time; frankly it's a long overdue review. When we moved from Georgia to Puyallup I left behind and amazing Chiro and staff who felt like family; I was afraid I wouldn't find that here. Luck of the draw, I landed here at Swendson and I am so thrilled that I did. The day I came in, Tonya got me set up right away with X-rays, this was just coming in as a walk in to see if they had openings. The doctors here are phenomenal, you work with all of them so in a way you get three different types of care, but it is all consistently great. The office staff is absolutely amazing and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and less stressed about any situation. All of the staff are absolute sweethearts and it will break my heart when I have to leave. This office bends over backward to see that you are healthy and happy and that you feel at home. Thank you Swendsen for making us all feel at home and incredibly welcome.

After experiencing a head injury came to see Dr. Swendsen. Staff was efficient and very friendly upon entering the office. They are helpful and knowledgeable. After first visit immediately saw a change in my neck. I work in a restaurant and my neck had previously been stiff and difficult to turn. Within one visit my neck felt better and could turn more easily. Appointment times are very flexible.

Everything about this place is great. One of my favorite things is how they value my time. When I show up for an 8:30 appointment it means at 8:30 they tell me to head on back to see the doctor. None of that garbage where you sit in the waiting room for 15 minutes. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I feel they went out of their way in my case to figure out all the insurance stuff, before my first visit, so I went in with no questions. I'm going there for lower back issues and they've done a great job getting me back to being pain free. I'm glad I decided to go to Swendsen.

I just had my first appointment this morning with this office. I tried them out after looking at reviews on Yelp. I had been going to another doctor, and I wanted a second opinion. My first appointment was very lengthy, but they are extremely thorough! I first talked with their assistant for about 15-20 minutes. She took time to tell me what to expect, and educated me a bit on chiropractic treatment, and the effects of not being in line. I then met with Dr. J for an exam. He measured my flexibility, and measured the muscles in my back. After that, Dr. Swendsen came in to talk to me about what was going to happen with my treatment. I then went in for many X rays. After all of that, I met again with Dr. Swendsen for a minor adjustment. The equipment they have makes the adjustment very comfortable, and gentle. The office seems very up to date with the best equipment, and also modern technology as far as swiping a patient card to check in for your appointment. The office was clean and professional. From the first call I had made to try and set up an appointment, the staff was beyond genuinely friendly, and knowledgeable. They did not rush through any phone calls, and wanted me to be very informed. This was also consistent with everyone in the office. I had spoken with 5 different employees while I was there, and they were all friendly and courteous. My first appointment took 2 hours, but I am told that the follow ups should be really quick once they have a treatment plan, and can go over the x rays. After my first appointment, I already felt immediate relief, unlike the outcomes from the last doctor I saw. I would highly recommend this office.

Unfortunately I need to change my previous review which was 5 stars. I now only recommend Dr. Todd and that's if you want to deal with the front office which I dont. It's a long story but front office staff and the other doctor lied to me and gave me the run around. I wasn't a valued patient. I'm fed up and changed chiropractors. ***My response to their response*** Right or wrong, any place of business is going to defend a complaint. But it doesn't mean the customer/patient is wrong. I rarely write reviews and I left your office over a month ago so this was not written as a knee jerk reaction either, I feel strongly about this. I can't think of any guideline or ethical rule you would have violated regarding my "demands". There is no state law that FMLA can only be written for "appointments only". One doctor at your office had no issue permitting me time off work for flare ups but then your other doctor wrote "for appointments only" when my FMLA was due for renewal. When I questioned this change, I was advised that because another patient's employer questioned their FMLA, that this was now your new office policy to write it this way, but you said that MY employer never questioned ME. (Btw I dont even think it's legal for someone's employer to call you and harass you asking if "Joe Smith" was seen that same day that they missed work. You know...that thing called HIPPA). So I don't even know why that would intimidate you guys to change your policy for all your patients, that's just ridiculous and seemed off to me. Reason #1 I feel lied to. Then in talking to the doctor again and discussing the fact you're closed Monday's etc, etc and not possible to always come in, he told me he didn't have a problem modifying my FMLA paperwork. So I waited for my employer to get it assuming it would be faxed as usual, and after over a week they still didn't have it. So then in calling your office back I'm told, "Oh, the doctor decided to keep it the way it is." Well, that is not what we discussed and nobody called to tell me this change either, which is quite rude in my opinion. Reason #2 why I feel lied to and also that I'm not a valued patient. When a doctor can't even keep his word with his patient then leaves them hanging...can you say "unprofessional". So then.. my mom who is also a patient of yours, had her FMLA renewed shortly after this and hers permits time off work for flare ups (but filled out by the other doctor). When I contacted office staff regarding this difference, I was then told each patient is handled on a case by case basis and they don't think my situation is medically necessary. I totally agree that each patient should be treated on a case by case basis, but "not medically necessary" is NOT the reason you gave me the first time. What about your new office policy?? If you guys had said you didn't think it medically necessary from the beginning then that's one thing (that I'd politely disagree with you on because my xrays show my condition and it hasn't changed plus I've developed headaches which we added to the list) but your excuse changed! First I'm told office policy then later that you just dont think I need it. The whole thing is ridiculous and my new chiropractor has no issues with my FMLA "demands" as you call them, so your rebuttal that you'd be breaking some guideline or ethics is 100% not even factual but thanks for trying to say that I'm the liar. And that "compromise" you are talking about...your doctor told me to take an UBER down to the office for an appointment if I didn't feel well enough to drive in. LOL are you kidding me? It makes no sense to me why you guys couldn't just write me 1 day off work even if it's monthly instead of weekly, just anything other than "appointments only", because that is just not realistic for a chronic condition where you have days you're hurting and just need to stay in bed.

Just a few weeks ago I had lower back, neck and hip pain that effected every part of my day. Routine tasks were overshadowed with terrible discomfort. I decided to try Chiropractic since my Orthopedic Doc just wanted to throw meds at the problem. I chose Swendsen Chiropractic because they had great reviews. After just a few visits the improvement in my quality of life has skyrocketed because my pain is greatly diminished. In fact, my neck and back are pain free. My hip is 70% improved and, with regular visits, I can see pain becoming a thing of the past. I was given a treatment plan but there is never any pressure to sign contracts and I get to set my treatment schedule. I can see where a monthly maintenance visit will keep me pain free and happy! I couldn't be more satisfied.

the staff is AMAZING, super helpful, and genuinely care. Both chiropractors are attentive and also genuinely care about their patients. My husband has been struggling with terrible sciatica pain, numbness down his leg, was literally walking lop sided and with a cane at the age of 39....we have tried so many different avenues, including a different chiropractor and reached dead ends. For over a year we struggled to find any kind of pain relief. We finally happened upon the Swendsen group and my husband is finally sleeping through the night pain free and walking without a cane. It's still an upwards battle but it's only been a few sessions! If you are reading this and in need of pain relief and a fantastic place, look no further. I really can't say enough about this place! ♥️

I would encourage anyone that is looking for pain relief and a wealth of knowledge pertaining to the reasons the pain is there. I have dealt with the pain of a sports injury as well as inflammation and aggravation from work and daily tasks at home for a year and a half now. As of last week Wednesday and Thursday (my first two visits) I am already feeling unbelievable relief from pain that was interfering with tasks as simple as.... standing still. Most anything was a hassle to do and I couldn’t seem to get a straight answer from the other chiro and physical therapy offices I visited for a length of roughly 4 months early on after the injury. The first day I was given an extremely through appointment, asked very specific questions to symptoms and what hurt and where. The second day was all an explanation of my x-rays and exactly what was causing the issues and how they planned to make it better. I will not seek chiropractic or massage care from any other clinic. Please make the visit if you need answers.

Dr. Justin and Dr. Todd are effective and competent chiropractors who can get to the root issue of your pain and bring you back to a fixed and stable state. I had to bring my 2 year old daughter with me my first visit and the ladies at the front desk kept her distracted and busy so I could get my x-rays and get adjusted. I am a Police Officer and avid Snowboarder so you can imagine the stress I put on my body and back. After a few visits with Dr Swendsen I noticed the sharp stabbing going away in the middle of my shoulders, range of motion coming back, not as much leg tingling, and I was not as fatigued throughout my day. I know its a process to undue years of force on the body but with each visit I recover quicker after body fatigue and the tension free/pain free feeling last a little bit longer. The staff are always friendly and professional. I always feel comfortable there and Dr Swendsen is very knowledgeable and accurate when locating my pain and fixing it. I highly recommend them and will be a patient for years to come.
