I had suffered from chronic lower back and leg pain for years as a result of an old sports injury. It was so bad that I was afraid to walk down stairs because sometimes my legs would give out. I wasn’t able to sleep from the pain. I was literally sleeping on the floor in fits and starts trying to find someplace that would be comfortable. I was to the point of a complete mental breakdown due to lack of sleep and constant pain.
I had gone from being a high-performing athlete (I played both football and basketball collegiately) to someone that was in pain just from standing or walking. Heck, to be completely honest, I was in pain just breathing because it wasn’t possible for me to find a position that offered me any relief.
In my attempt to find relief, I visited many different chiropractors in CA (I lived there for 5 years), MA, and RI. All were able to give me temporary relief, not permanent. I tried all sorts of therapies, special massage tables, stretches, etc... all hoping that each would make the pain go away.
I was taking ibuprofen regularly, continually upping the dose hoping it would dull the pain.
I visited orthopedic specialists, each of whom wanted to give me muscle relaxers and, ultimately, operate. One specialist wanted to remove one of my discs and insert a rod to prevent my spine from shifting. That was the final straw.
The chiropractor I was visiting in RI, who I had known for nearly a decade, recommended me to Dr Pyne. Dr Pyne was the ONLY chiropractor to look at the whole picture. He recognized a massive scar tissue buildup in my lower back that was preventing adjustments from taking hold. I was put on regular adjustments, which were painful because Dr Pyne would really “dig in” to the area to break things up, he also had me start ultrasound therapy and recommended deep tissue massages, which were painful. He gave me regular stretches to perform along with a regimen of moist heat followed by ice.
After about a month I started to have noticeable relief. My adjustments were holding longer. I could actually sleep. I didn’t have constant pain running down the outside of my leg. After another few weeks, the pain was completely gone. I actually was able to get back on the basketball court to play in a men’s league... and I had thought I would never be able to play again... heck... I thought I’d never be able to perform anything physical again.
Dr Pyne gave me my life back. I will never trust another doctor as I trust Dr Pyne. He is my regular doctor before I see anybody else.
