For many months I ignored lower back pain, I finally reached out for help from Dr. Clayton Stitzel. Dr. Stitzel took great interest in my care and was very informative during treatment. Dr. Stitzel developed a treatment plan to heal my issues for the long term, not treatment that would ease the pain temporarily. Before seeing Dr. Stitzel it seemed like surgery was imminent. Thank you Dr. Stitzel!

In January, my daughter went to her doctor for her physical relating to her high school tennis team. We were very surprised during the exam to find out that she had scoliosis. She is an all state tennis player and had been experiencing back pain at the end of her practice sessions but thought the pain was a result of intense practice. We immediately began to research treatment options and our chiropractor recommended that we contact Dr.Stitzel. After further research and a phone consultation with Dr. Stitzel we decided to book a time for treatment over spring break. When we arrived in Lititz, her initial examination showed that her curvature measured approximately 23 degrees. After a week of treatment, we were greatly pleased to find out that her curvature had been reduce to about 11 degrees. We returned home and she was able to complete a successful tennis season without any back pain. Last week, we returned to Lititz for a follow up appointment and she had maintained the improvement that resulted from the treatments over spring break. Suffering from severe daily headaches for 5 years and going through countless MRIs, CT scans and several other Chiropractors, which all resulted in no diagnosis. They make therapy and rehab feel like you’re among friends. The staff is flexible with your schedule and also work diligently with the insurance companies to get your coverage benefits and the preapprovals needed, so the client is not responsible for much. My 14 year old daughter spent the last two weeks of August with Dr. Stitzel, participating in his Scoliosis Boot Camp. While the therapy was not easy, it is time consuming but worth every minute spent, she did not experience pain while doing the exercises at all. She worked very hard, kept a positive attitude and we could not be happier with the results. While every case of scoliosis is different, and Dr. Stitzel creates a program tailored to each individual, her x-rays showed an extreme decrease in her spinal curve at the end of the two weeks. I believe in the science behind Dr. Stitzel's work. He is professional, smart and on the cutting edge of treating scoliosis. His staff is friendly and very helpful. An orthopedic surgeon had recommended my daughter for spinal surgery but I wouldn't accept that as the only option. Thank goodness, in my research, I found Dr. Stitzel. He has found a better, non-invasive way to treat scoliosis. I would highly recommend the Lancaster Spinal Health Center for anyone who has been diagnosed with scoliosis.

Success in Lancaster.... What a great experience my 13yr old and I had with Clayton and his staff last week. Jen, Jess, Anita and Sara where all very helpful and patiently worked with my daughter all week. We, like many were thrust into bracing as the only option for Scoliosis. Upon just returning from our daughter's 5 day scoliosis treatment with Dr. Stitzel and his staff at the Lancaster Spinal Health Center, we are still overjoyed with the results we got and we are relieved after finally finding a place that gives us hope for her future. Dr. Stitzel and his staff are warm and friendly, instantly putting my 10 year old daughter at ease. Although the rehab wasn't easy they reassured her she could do it and was strong. The staff is focused on making your child better. They are there to get the job done...and that is exactly what they did. Although my daughter is considered a mild case in mainstream medicine, her curve is under 25 degrees, Dr. Stitzel recognizes the downside of just waiting and watching as most doctors would recommend. As a parent you feel helpless with a certain "out of control" feeling, waiting for the X-ray results at every 6 month visit, watching your childs scoliosis worsen with each doctor's visit. By making the choice to see Dr. Stitzel and enrolling my daughter in his program, I was being more proactive and empowering my daughter to take control of her health. And like I mentioned at first, we couldn't be more thrilled we made this decision. With an overall curve of 16 degrees before the clinic, my daughter now has an overall curve of 4 degrees! She still has a bit of a road to travel with daily exercises to do at home for the next 6 months, but hearing and seeing those results has motivated her to try and do her best! Our daughter is being treated by Dr. Clayton for a severe case of scoliosis. When we arrived at the clinic for our first visit, we learned that left untreated, her spine would soon collapse. Our goal was to keep our daughter out of surgery – contrary to the opinion of our pediatrician who already made the decision that the only way out of this was through surgery. Not only have we been able to avoid surgery, but the condition of our daughter’s spine has actually been reversed. This was possible only through the expertise, care, wisdom, and professionalism of Dr. Clayton. He is not only exceptional at what he does, but we know that he has a very high level of care and concern for our daughter’s well-being. We definitely have other options to choose from that are much closer to home, but instead we drive hundreds of miles because of our confidence and trust in Dr. Clayton.

This summer, our 14 yr old daughter was diagnosed with Scoliosis. At her ortho appt, they diagnosed her with a top curve of 29 and a bottom curve of 32 and prescribed a Boston Brace for 23 hrs a day for at least the next 2 years. Dr. Stitzel and Scolismart were referred to us by a friend and she attended the bootcamp later this summer in Lititz. During the bootcamp, she appeared to improve her curves and was given a regimen of excercises. Today, she went to her 6 month ortho appt. While the ortho did not appear please we pursued an alternative path, he conceded the following: a top curve of 21 and a bottom curve of 25. He reversed his script for a brace entirely and told her to keep up her excercises! No brace needed! Thanks to Dr. Stitzel, his team and Scolismart for providing her a viable, effective path as an alternative to prohibitive bracing!

The traditional brace we started with, was an invasive and extreme physical and psychological hardship for my 15 year old daughter. Having to wear a brace for 23 hrs a day for 1 1/2 years is inhumane. Her's lasted 4 days before the teasing and frustration of wearing the brace was too much to bear. Our daughter's curve was reduced from a 28 to 7 degree curve (and the "twist" in her spine from 5 down to 1) after a 2 week "scoliosis boot camp" she just completed Oct 2014. She missed 2 weeks of school for treatment. The cost was not covered by our insurance and was expensive for us, we were able to get help from our family and church to help us pay for her treatment. Reducing, rather than containing the curve and the amount time recovered and anguish removed from our family is a blessing for which we are most grateful!

We were shocked when we found out that our daughter had scoliosis. My husband immediately went looking for solutions to her having scoliosis, which are mainly surgery or a brace. We were not interested in either of those options. We came into contact with Dr. Stitzel and he really informed us about the treatments. After continued reached, we were decided to go to Pennsylvania for the 10 day Boot Camp. When we arrived, her curvature was at 33 degrees. After the first week of treatment, she was at 19 degrees and by the end of our treatment she was at 9. So you can imagine how excited we were to see the progress in two weeks. She does rehab at home 1-2 times per day. These exercises are simple and not painful at all. At LSHC, they will give you all the equipment to do these exercises at home. The staff at LSHC is the best, my daughter loved everyone there. We truly believe in these treatments and can visibly see a difference in our daughter. We are so thankful that we found Dr. Stitzel. I can’t imagine our daughter having back surgery or wearing a brace for 2 years and having no improvement.

I have severe scoliosis and everyone's recommendation was nothing but surgery, which is not a solution in the long term as it would've caused chronic conditions in the future. However, Dr. Stitzel and his team's excellent, noninvasive physiotherapy ACTUALLY made a significant difference. He was able to identify issues caused by the scoliosis beyond what other doctors were able to diagnose. Not only were Dr. Stitzel's methods able to stop the curvature from increasing any further, but also was able to significantly reduce the curvature, which was no less than a miracle given my age and the severity of my curvature. And all along, Dr. Stitzel and his team helped me through the process with a smile on their face, acting as the support system I needed while completing the bootcamp.

After two weeks of intensive rehab for my scoliosis and 6 months of at home exercises, my scoliosis had in fact gotten worse. Clayton misled me to believe that it was getting better, but after consulting several orthopedic doctor's this turned out to be a lie. Please don't waste you time, money and hope like I did.

I am one of Dr.Stitzel’s older patients (56 y.o.). I’ve had amazing results following his therapy. I had severe scoliosis at a young age and at 12 y.o. I had surgery (without a Herrington rod) on my back which gave some correction and stabilization but I began having consistent back pain when I turned 40 y.o. Each year my spine got a little worse and I tried many therapies to relieve the pain but nothing really worked. After a couple months of Dr.Stitzel’s therapy I became pain free and my spine became straighter. Dr.Stitzel reviews every case and determines if he thinks you will respond well to his therapy or not. He’s a very honest, innovative and excellent doctor.

I believe scoliosis should not be taken lightly. My daughters case was mild and I refuse to wait and see for it to get worse. That's what my parents did with me and after 2 surgeries I'm still in major pain. If he can help you then why not try it. Anything is better then surgery.

Hi! My daughter developed a mild case of scoliosis in a few short months and the chiropractor we were seeing in the Harrisburg area referred us to Dr. Stitzel because of the acute curvature. After walking into his office, I could see that he was doing something special. I thought to myself, here is someone who is taking something the world knows little about and carving a new way to get real results. I saw that he was doing a lot though, and wanted my daughter to get the personal attention she needed...but there was NO LACK of that!! Just the opposite. The staff is very kind and attentive and Dr. Stitzel knows what he is doing. He took x-rays and made sure to study my daughter's individual needs. He took time to explain his findings on where scoliosis comes from and his scientific and common sense approach on how to correct it the best he can. He crafted equipment specific to my daughters needs and took time at his facility to make sure she knew how to use it all correctly. His comprehensive program also included the hands on adjustments that were necessary to promote spinal healing and alignment. She was given instructions for home care and because she could feel how it was alleviating her pain and strengthening her, she was very dedicated in doing her exercises. We just did her follow up after two years and the degrees of her curves have GREATLY DECREASED!! She no longer has the pain she used to experience and Dr. Stitzel has released her from care. :)) I also have scoliosis and have been to many chiropractors now on the east and west coasts of the United States and there is no one who is doing everything that Dr. Stitzel is doing for everyone.. especially for all the young girls this condition affects and all the cases the other mainstream chiropractors are unable to correct. I am so thankful for being fortunate enough to have encountered Dr. Stitzel's care for my daughter. I since learned even more about the work that he is doing and would recommend his care to not only the mild, but also to the most severe cases of scoliosis as well as doctors everywhere who are looking for ways to help their patients.

Clayton treats not only the spine, but the whole person! He treated my daughter for scoliosis at the 2 week camp recently. The staff are very helpful, funny and genuine. The kids really thrive in this atmosphere (and so do the parents). When the 2 weeks were over, she was sad to leave! We have had success from his innovative treatment protocols. We also realize this is a journey, not a one time fix. The kids still need to be dedicated when they go home. Not to mention, they are still growing, so their body will have some spurts of growth. I'm so glad we went with this option for treatment. I just wish we would've went last year when I originally found them. The sooner the treatment begins, the better!

I"m sorry to do this but: WEBSITE was detailed and had a lot of promising information and intervention for my spine issues. Called in as a new patient and was immediately turned away because they are "not accepting new patients at this time". (ok, fine. I get that). When I asked if they could refer me to someone the secretary said "no". And that was it....end of conversation. I'm desperate, but not desperate enough to deal with poor customer service. As a professional in the allied health field myself, I know it is part of my scope of practice that if I can not see a client for WHATEVER reason, I ought to at least TRY to find someone to refer them too; especially if I am not offering them a spot on a waiting list (which wasn't even mentioned as an option in this case.) Clearly this courtesy is not offered at this practice. The flat out "no" and then awkward silence was enough for me to quickly say thank you and hang up and never to call again. So, in short, if you are desperate and willing to deal with poor customer service, go with these people. But, if you are looking for a decent office that knows how to knowledgeably treat ANY kind of customer, potential, or current, with respect and dignity, then GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
