I've been to several chiropractors over the years and Dr. Spille is BY FAR the most comprehensive both in regards to diagnosis and adjustment. I am never rushed through an appointment and he's very easy to talk to, making each visit a relaxing experience, not to mention his skill level. The rest of the staff at A.F.C. are also very helpful and friendly. I have not been to a better place for chiropractic care.

Updated Post 02/03/19 Soon after my original post below, the Chiropractor reached out to me. He apologized for the misunderstanding and refunded my money. I appreciate that he took the time to call me and discuss the situation and took action to rectify the issue. Original Post (January, 2019) The folks at American Family Chiropractic were friendly and attentive. During my first (and only) visit, they performed the services we had discussed before my visit including an X-ray and exam/adjustment. They recommended I also get electrical stimulation while there, which I agreed to do. I would rate the adjustment as average when compared to other Chiropractors I have been to in the Cincinnati and Boston areas. My very low rating has to do with their billing practice, which I would describe as deceptive... BEWARE!!! Before making the appointment, I asked what the total charge for the visit would be, as I have a high deductible insurance plan and would be responsible for the complete bill. I was told the total bill would be $90, which included a $50 charge for the first visit plus $40 charge for the X-ray reading. Taking the X-rays were included in the $50 charge. I felt $90 was acceptable to determine if this Chiropractor would work for me. I paid the $90 at the completion of the office visit. A couple of months later, we received bill from the Chiropractor's office. When I called to understand why I received this bill, I was told the original $90 was just a payment 'for the day' and the real charge was based on whatever they got back from insurance company. The total bill was really $676 with an insurance adjustment of $366, leaving my charge at $310. REALLY!!!! $310 for a Chiropractic visit! I am not saying to not go to this Chiropractor. They just didn't work very well for me. I am saying that if you go to this Chiropractor, be sure to get in writing ahead of time exactly what they will charge you including their expectations around insurance (in writing!) That is, when they tell you the total charge will be $90, get that in writing including the wording, "regardless of insurance adjustments".

Dr Spille, and his staff are great! My husband and I have both been to the center for K Laser treatment and had great results with it. My husband had inflammation in his knee that he struggled with for over a year and the laser treatment fixed the issue. Dr Spille is knowledgeable, professional and listens to what is going on with you, and bases treatment on individual needs.

I went in with a lot of back pain that I had written off as simply background stress, turns out that I unknowingly had mild scoliosis. After just one session, I felt fantastic and didn't think I could feel better - until the second one, in which I felt better than the first. Dr Spille is very detailed and truly cares that you are improving. I felt like my pain was something I would always live with, and had been for about 15 years. I started treatments in Jan 2019. After 3 months, I was not feeling much better and considered stopping treatment. But, I didn’t. Now, in June 2019 I am virtually pain free and so thankful for Dr Spille. I have been going to Dr. Hakes for 11 years now, since i was about 10 years old. He has such great patient care there is no other doctor i trust like him. When i got in a car accident, i made sure that i could be treated by him because i know i would get better! His results are proven and he doesnt do anything unneccesary. After being sent to a spinal specialist for spinal injections, and spending thousands of dollars on treatments that were unsuccessful, I had finally decided to give chiropractic a try, I was hesitant but was greeted so sweetly by Pam and treated with the utmost respect and compassion. I saw Dr. Brent Spille, who really went above and beyond to take the time to really get to know my history and spend all the time needed for a thorough exam, adjustment and treatment. It's only the 6th week of the program and I feel like a new man! Great customer service, the staff is very nice / helpful and Dr. Spille is excellent at what he does!! Dr. Hakes and staff were awesome - very respectful, caring and attentive to my stiff, sore aching body resulting from an auto accident. I didn't expect too much from the 1st Chiropractic visit. However that evening I was feeling better. The next morning I was actually feeling relieved from most of the pain in my neck, shoulders and back as well as having added range of motion in my right shoulder. Although I did still have a tiny bit of tingling in my hand, this is the first morning I didn't wake up to numbness in my left arm since the accident. Can't wait to see what he can do for me on my second visit. Love love.

I just started coming here not long ago, and whether it's a hey I have twenty minutes let's do this day or a day like today where I had an hour for an appointment, Dr.Spille has made sure to take awesome care of me. The office staff has been so polite and kind to me as well. When I first went to set up an appointment I figured it would be 6-8 weeks before I would've seen. I called and was able to get in within a week. I was so happy and relieved. I've been in pain for years and each day gets better. After my first session I did the electrodes but I wasn't a fan so I'm doing a different therapy with the rollers now and it feels awesome!!! I couldn't be happier. Have used Doctor Hakes for various neck, shoulder and lower back issues for the last two or three years. Had a shoulder problem that didn't allow me to reach up and around the back of my head. Problem has been almost 100% resolved. I also get a one hour massage on a monthly basis. They have package deals making it very inexpensive. Find it very worth while. Know a lot of friends that also use Dr. Hakes including family members and church aquaintences of all age groups. I am 72.

I had a bad fall this summer which ultimately ended up causing extreme back pain. I went to a chiropractor in Troy and he said I basically wouldn't be able to walk by the time I was 50! A close family friend recommended that I visit Dr. Spille in Mason which is about an hour away from me. I have been going and making the drive twice a week just because how happy I am with the results! The atmosphere is professional, clean and extremely friendly. Since going to him he has helped my pain lessen and given me tools to keep my treatment plan on track. Because of him I feel confident I am getting the absolute BEST treatment and will continue to get better. I would recommend Dr. Spille to anyone that is in search of a chiropractor.

Best Chiropractor ever. I have several problems with my back due to Military work. I see Doctor Spillie at least once a week and without him I don't think I would still be walking without major difficulty. He is very good at working with the injuries I have and follows through on finding out best possible solutions to helping to reduce the pain. The therapy after is amazing the only place I would go for chiropractic help. They have two great Massage therapist on site which makes getting your tight muscles and soreness great relief.

After explaining to him he reassured me that he had many complaints similar to mine and he's resolved the problem. He also offered me a free message to make it up to me! Have went to AFC for my last 2 DOT physicals. Dr. Spille does a thorough job each time as is should be. My app't was at 130 pm and I was taken back & started my exam promptly. There is available truck parking. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Dr. Spille is amazing. He and his staff are the kindest and most caring people I have ever run into in a medical office setting. They always remember any small thing I tell them about my life, and ask about whatever it may be the next time I am there. He also has many different methods of treating your pain. If you csnt move one way, he will find a way to get you adjusted without causing you more pain. Plus, getting electrode therapy after each visit is amazing and relaxing. I highly recommend American Family Chiropractic for all of your chiropractic needs. They also have two licenced massage therapists in house, who are very qualified for the job.

I am in my 40's and have been going to Dr. Spille for a couple of years. The first time I walked in his office I could hardly function. This was my first experience with a chiropractor and I was extremely apprehensive but joint and muscle pain was out of control and I had to try something other than medication. I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and was struggling with the constant pain. I had chest pain, a clicking noise in my neck/head when I walked, and felt like a butter knife in my mid back among other things. Dr. Spille showed patience, kindness, professionalism, and a little bit if magic! I feel like a new person! My ability to function and quality of life has been improved immensely. His staff is amazing as well. I would recommend American Chiropractic in Mason to anyone!

I have been going here for many years. It took time at first, not too much in my case but eventually I now only go 1-3 times a month. Sometimes I can go even less and longer periods of time. The staff is Fantastic and they're the type of people who you send Christmas cards to! I've always gone to Dr. Matthew Hakes and he is amazing! A++++. Now I have heard nothing but great things about the other Dr., but since I haven't gotten adjusted, not cracked** say it to Hakes, he will correct it right away! Fun man! :) :) I recommend that if you're interested in checking them out because you're in pain, then DO NOT HESITATE! Go try it and you won't get adjusted on the 1st visit because he will assess the situation and problems, and then make a game plan specific to your situation!! They also have a new laser treatment system and it's not cheap but if I needed it, I would find a way to make it happen. It's quite new and I was there about 3 weeks ago and I'm still pain free (well to be honest, TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE what and why I'm in pain). I do the stretches he says I can do and not do. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDATION FROM ME!! AND I will personally let him know that he can share my reasons for going and whatever he is legally allowed. A++
