I am going to start by explaining the way it used to be. When my son, Justin, (who is now 9) was still young enough to sleep in a crib, I remember picking him up and hearing his back “cracking”. I always thought it was just because he had been asleep for so long, curled up in a ball; and that once he got moving around, it would “fix” itself. Never did I think that a child would need a chiropractor. Justin always seemed to be sick in one way or another, having one ear infection after another. His doctor was always prescribing antibiotics; trying to find the “right” one that would fix it this time. When Justin would get a cold, his cough would end up lasting at least a month. He always had a “little” cough throughout the year that would never go away. We just assumed that it was allergies. He would also sleep a lot, which we thought was just Justin going through growing spurts. I had been going to Health Quest for about a month in June 2008, when our family had devastating news; our 3 ½ year old, Justin, had been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. This is a genetic disease that has no cure. It used to be a children’s disease, because no one ever made it past childhood. CF causes the body to make more mucus which causes problems for the lungs and the digestive system. Many CF patients cough all the time; their lungs are trying to rid themselves of all the mucus that is suffocating them. It is horrible but our little boy was basically given a death sentence. I had gone into Health Quest to cancel my adjustments so I could focus everything on Justin. Dr.Allen Miner suggested they do ex-rays on Justin, and what he found shocked me. Justin had NO curve in his neck, (which explained every ear infection). Also, his spine below his lungs curved off to the side, 3 to 4 inches. That explained all the noise I had been hearing! Justin had his first adjustment that afternoon. That evening, my husband James, our 5 ½ year old son Zachary and I went for a walk to the boy’s grandparents, two blocks away. During our previous walks, Justin would get tired and ask to be carried. This time, Justin did something that he had never done before; he had run the whole way without stopping!! We had to run just to keep up with him! On the way home, he did the same. The only time he stopped, was to pick up a toy shark that he had thrown at Zach. It has been a litter over five years now, and Justin is thriving in ways we never would have thought possible. For the past three years Justin has been in YAFL and is one amazing player! He stops for nothing and hardly sits still. His breathing test scores are off the charts and his BMI is in the 97% range. Diet has also been a big part in Justin’s health. Dr.Allen Miner stressed the very first day, NO DAIRY AND DON’T FORGET THE FISH OIL! Justin never has any dairy and takes his fish oil, along with probiotics, daily. Both boys get adjusted weekly, and I will do anything and everything to keep that up. Our family at Health Quest is amazing and we will always be part of it.

After a few years, I decided that this was not the course for me and began regular chiropractic adjustments, as well as dietary changes and regular workouts. My experience with Dr. Uphold, at Health Quest, was just life changing. My husband and I were in a bad accident. Witnesses said, our Jeep flipped atleast 4 times before we landed. I don't get sick as much and if I do, I don't have the symptoms as severe as it normally would have been. It works and its worth it. When I started coming here, I was getting debilitating muscle spasms every 3 months, where I would need to be in bed for up to 2 weeks at a time! This problem is now a thing of the past! I continued to come for weekly treatment all through my pregnancy and my daughter got her first adjustment at 3 weeks old. I can't recommend Healthquest Chiropractics enough! Lots of smokes and mirrors. Charged me $107 first visit. Very limited exam. No adjustment. Had his assistant perform test which he will “reviewed at next visit” and charge another $107 to tell me about. I work in the Medical field as a provider, I was going for an exam and adjustment, not smoke and mirrors. His assistant spent more time giving me a tour and showing me the children who are getting adjusted there (which I personally didn’t care about) then my actual care. Won’t be back and sorry I trusted the reviews. Can I get my $107 back for nothing ??? EDIT I was told very clearly by the front desk that I would be charged an additional $99 plus tax for my second visit. So visitors be ware!
