Dr. Craig Akridge and the staff at Akridge & Akridge Chiropractic have changed my life. After doing CrossFit for about a year, my body, specifically, my lower back and knees, were screaming at me. The pain that I was experiencing was debilitating. I was lost, I didn’t know how or if I was going to be able to remedy the pain, which was scary, because I thought I was going to have to stop doing CrossFit. It was apparent that I needed to start taking recovery just as important as I was taking training. I had heard through the CrossFit community that Chiropractic care was common and that I should look into it. I made an appointment to see Dr. Craig on a whim. I literally had no idea what I was getting into. I knew nothing about Chiropractic care. All I knew was that I wanted to continue to do CrossFit and perform without pain. Today, as I write this review, I am pain free and back to performing at 100%. I strongly encourage you to make an appointment at Akridge & Akridge Chiropractic. Your goals are their goals. And it’s important to note that they’re not concerned about short-term relief. Dr. Craig made it very clear that he was going to remedy the pain I was experiencing so I could continue to do CrossFit into my 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and beyond. First when I went in there they seemed nice. But then they ripped me off. 80 dollars they said without even telling me to begin with. They said 40 dollars for ever appointment i said fine. A staff member said first visit was free from what I recall. Nope! 80 dollars left their mouths and then I was shocked. A young man living on his own, that's a little too much especially since I have bills to pay. I just wanted to get my back looked at and fixed. He did good I admit. 40 dollars seemed decent but I'm never going "back." Haha anyways. I have my opinion. I just want honesty is all. If they told me the price first hand or didn't lie to me it was free on first visit, I would've been more selective. Just ask more questions when you go to a place especially one you never been to before. It's hard nowadays to find a company that just doesn't want your money. To which I say to my self Lesson taught. Don't get ripped off.

I lived in constant pain from severe TMJ for the last several years. When I was finally able to afford dental treatment (TMJ was not covered by my insurance) my dentist was baffled as to why I was still having pain in my neck and jaw a month into the treatment plan. He recommended that I see a chiropractor. Willing to try anything at this point, I made an appointment with Dr. Craig Akridge. Within 2 weeks, the pain had all but evaporated. I no longer struggled to talk or do normal activities and was able to enjoy a family holiday without needing to leave early or miss out entirely. I'm embarrassed to say that I doubted the chiropractor would make a difference. However, I'm thrilled to admit I couldn't have been more wrong. Outstanding staff and doctors. From the time you walk through the doors they make you feel like part of the family. The staff takes the time to listen to your needs and they work with you on scheduling and insurance. (which is a big plus) The doctors take their time to educate you about your treatment and communicate your progress so that you fully understand whats going on. I'm dealing with the sciatic nerve and at first my primary physician was working with me and I wasn't getting anywhere; I was told Akridge & Akridge and Dr. Lacey had me standing straight up and walking in less than 2 weeks. I went to this facility a few years ago because I strained a muscle in my back lifting weights. My insurane covered ten chiropractic visits a year, so I tried it out. I thought they may be able to help, but it turns out I was terribly misinformed about chiropractors. I was quoted a hundred dollars a visit and saw them seven or eight times. I received nothing more than being stretched on a table for about 5 minutes and had a heating pad placed on my back. Nothing they did helped and they just recommended I do more sessions, even though all I wanted was what insurance would cover and they knew that. I am now somehow being sued by a collection agency for close to 400 dollars, which I will likely have to end up settling because I have no paperwork from this as it's been several years. These people prey on those in pain and are nothing short of salesmen. If you have some type of injury or feel like this could help please beware. Seek a real doctor or something else. This headache is haunting me several years later at a time when I really can't afford it, not a good practice used by medical professionals or people that are really looking to help others. Please don't be fooled.

The care that I got there was awesome. The billing person told me that my services would be covered by my insurance and I told her that I will not see the doctors if they dont double check for me and they said they did. Then I got a bill for over 200 dollars. When I talked to the people they said certain things were not covered I told them I was not going to pay the bill because they told me everything was covered. Just got a letter from collection yesterday. Going to call a lawyer and fight it. They should tell someone everything would be covered and it is not.

Had a severe pain on my right side finally had to go to the emergency room. 4 hours later after exam and 4 xrays Dr told me I had an inflammation of the sciatic nerve. I was given two prescriptions and told it would be better in 3 days. 5 days later and very little sleep I went to see Dr. Craig after 1 treatment I was able to walk out with very little pain. I actually got sleep that night. I had another treatment the next day and the pain was all but gone after that. I have always been sceptical of chiropractors but I am now a believer. Please if you are experiencing pain go see Dr Craig you wont regret it. I can't say enough about the whole team they are awesome! I always used the excuse that I couldn't afford a chiropractor because my insurance doesn't cover it. I can assure you they are very understanding and their prices are very affordable. I had a knee injury in September of 2015. The doctors had me do aquatic therapy which helped some but did not solve the problem. I continually dealt with pain until February of 2018. I started having pain in my sciatic nerve. The doctors wanted me to do physical therapy again. I did not want to do that. I had a coworker who told me about Akridge. Short story: The people at Akridge & Akridge are kind, helpful, knowledable, and so far have been the only people to accurately diagnose what was hurting my back and hip. Their prices are very reasonable if you aren't covered by insurance. 5/5 Would absolutely recommend visiting them for a consultation. Long story: I have to say that I was incredibly reluctant to go to the chiropractor, even while my back was thrown out so painfully that I couldn't sit or bend at the waist. I hadn't had much success with chiropractors before--most had just adjusted by back (with varying success in pain relief), and gave me exercises to do (that didn't seem to work). So I had resorted to just trying to let my back fix itself--usually with a combination of Motrin and rest (and hope that it would just right itself the next day), and a few of those aforementioned exercises. This got me through the last five years. Well, with my last thrown out back, none of the exercises worked, rest didn't work, and Motrin did nothing. Two weeks go by with no relief. I ended up going to my PCM, who told me that I had thrown out my back due to straining my piriformis muscle, and then he gave me a couple of stretches to try and relief the muscle which should have relieved the back pain. Five days later, and still no relief. I had been talking to a friend of mine who recommended Akridge and Akridge. He had been going there for a while by that point and had nothing but good words to say. At that point, I was willing to give anything a try, so I finally stopped by. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and got me scheduled for a consultation. When I finally got in, after x-rays, I found that what I'd been told over the years (that I had sciatica and such)--was a misdiagnosis, and that I really had arthritis in my lower back and some bulging disks in a region that wasn't related to sciatica--along with the piriformis syndrome which was pulling my lower back out of place. Dr. Craig then worked on my back. I couldn't believe how much better I felt--with just that one adjustment (and stretching the piriformis in a way totally contrary to what my PCM said). I was convinced. I got signed up for a few more appointments, and now I feel 90% better. I have a few more appointments to go, but I really can't tell you just how amazingly different things are. For the longest time, I've been incredibly inflexible--having not been able to touch my toes (or even mid-shin) for more than a decade now. I always thought I just needed to stretch more. After a few sessions, I can reach my toes with ease! What on earth, really?? How long had I been hurt? I can sit with no pain, I can sleep with no pain, and I can get up and down, pick up my kids, tie my shoes with no pain. I don't know if I can say everyone would have the same results as me, but what I can say is that the people at Akridge and Akridge CARE and know what they are talking about. They are incredibly friendly, and even though my insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care, their prices are VERY reasonable. I can't recommend them enough! 5/5 stars all the way.
