Jan 12 of 2018, I experienced a bad accident that left me a different person..I could not go to the gym, could not run, could not work longer than an 8 hour shift. The physical therapy program Thru my lawyer did nothing for me and a year later I was still in terrible pain. My spirits were way down and finally my best friend referred me to Dr. Herold of course I was extremely Skeptical but at this point I needed my life back some.That entire staff is amazing from the front desk (especially Ashley) to the doctors, pleasant, warming, just nice people overall. Even the behind the scenes staff, when they come out are pleasant. They have convienent schedules even weekends now. I saw one of Dr. Herold’s partners..Dr. Harris and oh my goodness..she was amazing..she new exactly where my pain was and did some manipulation that had me pain free the entire weekend going into the beginning of the next week. Two months in I am 10 times better for the most part (still working)..I can actually touch my feet and come back up with minimally strain..when I first started I couldn’t get past the thought of just touching my knees. I know I have a ways to go but I am somewhat back to some kind of normalcy.I am so looking forward to a full recovery when this is over..My spirits is so much better an I am excited every time it is time for an appointment just because I can see I am on my way to having my life back..Thanks so much Dr. Herold and the Maryland spine center..and Thanks for my best friend, Mo

Dr. Auer met with me and designed a treatment plan for my neck and lower back pain . He took the time to explain everything to me. Both Dr. Auer and Dr. Herold have helped my neck and lower back. Their practice even helped me with a financial plan so I could get the most effective treatment. I love my orthotics and specially designed pillow. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, seriously! This place is great. Dr. Herold is not only great at what he does but is very friendly and his staff is great too! They are friendly, full of personality, and really know what they are doing! I started coming here after experiencing the worst lower back pain I have ever felt that just wouldn't go away for nearly a year. I'd stretch and do light weight for back workouts, ice it, heat it, nothing would work until I came here. Dr. Herold, Ashley, and Heather make this the best place I can imagine for anyone having neck or back pain (they also treat more than just that) I've been coming here for awhile and haven't needed to meet there crnp, but always here from people that have seen her about how great she is. The initial intake and x-ray procedure to see exactly what's going on from the very first meeting is refreshing. (They'll be posting updated pictures, because ilthis place looks alot more impressive in person, but it's an additional plus to go in and see updated and new equipment).

After 13 years of competitive gymnastics I started experiencing a constant aching back, tightness, “jammed felling”. I’ve always been hesitant on trying chiropractors due to the scare stories of others. I’ve seen two orthopedic doctors over the last 11 years (one being a surgeon) whom continue to prescribe me muscle relaxers and high ibuprofen with PT. I finally threw in the towel because I was sick of the vicious cycle and had nothing left to loose! After a couple weeks of care at MD Spine I finally feel like the kinks are looser in my back, I can move better and have no pain/ache that is constantly on my mind. I can’t wait to continue my care and get rid of my muscle spasms all together!! The office is ran professionally and I have no had a long wait time. Dr Herold is great! When I first came in I was having such severe back spasms that I couldn't stand up straight. The combination of spinal decompression, physical therapy, and chiropractic care worked so well in just a month. I have found MSI's multi-disciplinary approach to be much more effective than just physical therapy or chiropractic alone (which is the way I've been treated for the past 15+ years). And the staff is so friendly and accommodating.

I came to Maryland Spine Institute because I was experiencing back pain early in my second trimester. I can not recommend Dr. Herold enough to any pregnant woman who is looking for some natural pain relief. Not only is my back pain more manageable, but the accompanying physical therapy exercises are helping to give me an easy exercise routine that prepares me for delivery. After I injured my right knee from a fall back in January I discovered the MD SPINE INSTITUTE through a health fair that was held at my job back in March after sitting down with Dr Herold for my free consultation he did a series of X-rays and a through exam because he said that not only was they going to help fix my knee but other areas that were affected by that injury as well. His staff was simply amazing from the exercises that he assigned me to do in his office as well as at home all the treatments, laser, ice, heat and the adjustments and all the care that was provided to me made me glad that I choose the MD SPINE INSTITUTE and I will recommend them to my family and friends.

Yesterday, I went into a new chiropractor for throwing my back out--- again. My previous local Chiropractor never ran X-rays, only did adjustments and tried shoveling scripts down my throat, which I always refused. I wanted to feel the pain, no matter how bad, because I don't agree to numbing anything. Yesterday, the new Dr ran X-rays and performed about 2 hrs worth of tests. Then, sat me down for the bad news and today was more bad news. That the newly discovered scoliosis wasn't even his biggest concern, but my slipped disc and lowered pelvic were with my neck being a massive concern. This time, I didn't cry. I listened to his thorough, non surgical rehabilitation plan the next 6 months. In 3 months, we will reaccess and he's hoping for as low as a 30% improvement to as hopeful as a 60%. While I'm too old to lessen the 20 degrees scoliosis, even with a brace and all other treatments--- We can strive to minimize any increased degrees. I feel very fortunate to have #marylandspineinstitute help me, and I believe that this is only the past and not my future. But, I BEG every parent to try and get their kids checked during adolescence because apparently that's when it could have been corrected. Oh, and I beg you to not accept any Drs answer because my old one saw me about 8 times in the last 2 yrs... Grr. Funny part? My neck is called "military" shaped. Figures. #suckitup #driveon

15 years ago I was in a severe car accident which cause major back issues. About 8 years ago I had a spinal fusion on C3 - C6 and continue to experience back, neck and shoulder pain. I was always leary about going to a chiropractor thinking they would cause more issue and pain in addition to causing more damage. Do yourself a favor and go with MSI! Late last year I started experiencing unreal lower back nerve pain and wanted to find a fix, starting with the chiropractor. I've gone to chiros before receiving no more than an adjustment. After my first visit at MSI, I knew I found the right place. Aside from Dr. Herold and the PT staff being incredibly friendly and helpful, the treatment I've received from the very start has been focused on healing the problem(s), preventing the pain, and educating me on everything in between. Dr. Herold is extremely knowledgeable and has helped my pain go from a 9-10 to a 5-6 in a month. CRNP Tracy has been awesome to talk to as well, with her expertise in incorporating better daily health practices to work hand in hand with my spinal treatment. In August of 2018, I awoke to a tingling sensation in my arms and legs, and I noticed I was very off balance I couldn't walk normally and was dragging my left foot I was a complete mess, mentally physically and emotionally. I was referred for an MRI where they discovered I had Spinal Stenosis, with radiculothopy. I was told I needed physical therapy and decided on the Maryland Spine institute based on their many wonderful reviews. .I scheduled my appointment with Ashley J, who was very sweet and comforting and very patient with me in answering all my questions effortlessly. I walked into the Maryland Spine Center a month ago, having received the results of my MRI and also having no idea what to do. I was depressed, afraid, and feeling very hopeless not knowing if I could be fixed. I first met Jeremy who did my intake, and was like super cool and friendly like he already knew me. He was very upbeat and knew alot about the body . Then I met "THE MAN " Dr. Herold. and immediately he took an interest in my situation beyond my physical care, comforted me and assured me he would do his best to help me. He took an xray and was immediately able to identify the source of my issue. He allowed me a treatment the first day, even though that is not typical, but he was anxious to get me some relief. Dr. Herold and the entire staff have been wonderful to me ever since I look forward to therapy and seeing Jamie and Crystal and have attained exceptionally excellent results through the combination of Physical Therapy, Chiropractic adjustment, and exercises which were customized to suit my specific needs in order to recover quickly, and also through the support of wonderful products you can purchase in office. I also suffer from HBP and was able to see the in house Nurse Practitioner Dr. Cross for advice and assistance with regards to that. I can feel myself getting stronger every day, walking better, getting my balance and coordination back, and the feeling of hopelessness has faded away and been replaced with a feeling of hope for a complete recovery that I know isnt far away thanks to Dr. HEROLD and Dr. JOI ! The best kept secret in town, the Maryland Spine Institute is the place to go for spinal injuries, aches and pains. When I called to make my appointment, Kandy was so friendly and positive. Then I met with Tracy, the CRNP, who was methodical as she calmly explained things to me in layman’s terms. Then she pointed me to the PT group (Ashley, Heather and Melissa) They, too, were friendly, upbeat and funny. I was still nervous about what came next and then I met Dr. Herold and Dr. Auer. They are professional, knowledgeable and congenial. No matter how I feel when I walk in the door I feel better when I leave, mentally and physically. You’re not just a number, they really care about fixing your pain. They explain every step and spend time developing a plan. Finally, I met with “billing” Bob who helped me deal with the paperwork and managing the billing side of treatment. The takeaway is they provide relief for their patients. wow! where do I start? My experience with MSI is amazing. I have been in pain in my neck and back for years. I have tried physical therapy, injections, and am currently on pain medication. I was a little skeptical about going to a chiropractor but my daughter was going there and I saw the amazing results she got from going there so I decided to go. I had a fall 2 weeks before I went so I thought what a better time to go since I was in even more pain. I have been going there for a couple of weeks and I already am seeing a big difference. My pain is nowhere what it was and I am already weaning myself off the pain medication. Bending over to tie my shoes or paint my toenails used to cause me a lot of pain in my hip and now I have noticed that its not hurting anymore when I bend over. I am feeling so much better that I just want to hug and kiss everyone there..hee hee. Dr. Herold is so nice and explains everything and takes his time to answer any questions I have, and the staff is just as nice. I would recommend the Maryland Spine Institute to anyone who thinks there is no hope because there is hope to live a better pain free life if you go there. They treat my teenage daughter for ballet related back issues and are always professional, accommodating, and absolutely the friendliest medical staff I have encountered.
