Not so long ago, I felt a little tingle in a muscle while I was in a challenging yoga pose. Within 24 hours, I knew I had messed up my back enough to need help. My doctor ruled out anything serious and referred me to Physical Therapy. After researching online, I chose a PT who offered Dry Needling on their website. They got me going with exercises that helped a lot, but after a month I finally realized they did NOT offer Dry Needling and I was frustrated with slow progress. I needed more and I hoped Dry Needling would help me. So I searched again and this time, I found Adolph & Kalkstein. Duh! I also remembered that I'd had excellent results from a chiropractor back in the 90's, so I was glad to find a chiro who offers DN. I've had a few treatments now and the improvement is dramatic. Bonus - they teach corrective exercises, too, which I firmly believe will help me avoid future injuries. The office is clean & new, the staff are organized, friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. I've been able to get in quickly to be seen and I leave feeling better than I came in. Also - watching their Youtube videos really helped me understand the treatments. It had been a while since I'd had an adjustment so, yeah I was maybe a little nervous. But there is no need to be nervous - they are gentle and skilled.

When my son was injured playing lacrosse, we were referred to Dr Blake Kalkstein as he had already helped several other players at the same camp. Even though the office was closed during the long holiday weekend, Dr Blake replied to my many messages, answered my questions, set up an appt for when the office reopened, and even provided a video showing several stretches to help in the interim. My son had two visits with Dr Blake before we left MD and he felt a great deal of relief. I couldn't recommend this practice any higher based on the treatment and how responsive, helpful, and friendly everyone was.

First off, I’m a big fan of the YouTube channel for Drs. Adolph and Kalkstein. In the videos Dr. Blake provides detailed explanations of the procedures and adjustments he performs. That is the primary reason I wanted to visit their office when I was on the East coast visiting from Portland, Oregon. From the moment you walk through the door, you receive a warm welcome. Everyone was professional, courteous, and took the time to address me by my name. Additionally, Dr. Blake is amazing! He’s very knowledgeable and professional and the rest of the team in the office seem that way as well. When I showed up for my appointment (which incredibly was made the same day) Dr. Blake's assistant took me to an exam room and was extremely professional and provided excellent care before I met with the Dr. I visited the office because I have a decade long history of shoulder issues (pain and weakness) and an 18 month issue with my neck (it clicked every time I turned to the right). I've visited numerous Chiropractors in Oregon and none were able to fix the clicking with my neck. After the Dr's questions and a series of physical assessments he recommended a 15-20 minute Dry needle session and an adjustment. After the treatment I gained significant strength in my shoulders (weakness was practically nonexistent). And, most importantly, the clicking in my neck was gone (and still is almost 2 months later)!!! Dr. Blake also followed up via email to answer questions I had about a series of shoulder strengthening exercises he recommended I do daily to help with my shoulder weakness. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I would recommend this office to anyone living in the DMV (DC, MD, VA) area or to anyone just visiting. Whenever I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely stop by their office! I honestly wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

In my case I was provided with post care instructions following a dry needling. Which leads me to the top notch care I received. Having visited a chiropractor before I expected the adjustment & stim, but Kalkstein Chiropractic does so much more. Their treatment regimen includes ultrasound, dry needling, adjustment, and strengthening exercises, which far exceeds the chiropractic experience I had received elsewhere. I certainly wouldn't drive an hour and a half for anything less than the best. To summarize you cam expect prompt, professional, quality care that is focused on you.

Nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Jeff and all the staff at Adolph & Kalkstein. My dad was a chiropractor so I didn't need to be educated on the health benefits of chiropractic care. I just wish I hadn't waited so long after my dad's death to start up again with regular spinal manipulation. Unfortunately, not all insurance plans are chiropractic-friendly, and my employer's subpar plan falls within that category. However, Dr. Jeff's front office staff is very sensitive to that and takes the time to explain coverages and treatment options ... they work with you to get the care you need.

Fantastic experience. Typically I've heard everything from don't ever go to a chiropractor, to, you must go to a chiropractor it's fantastic. It's always interesting when you have completely polarizing opinions. I work at a desk for 8-10hrs a day like many ppl. I've never been to a chiropractor until I went to Adolph & Kalkstein, and I'm 43. The stretching exercises I've been doing, the adjustments they have made, have truly been a relief. I look forward to my visits. I'm not in stiffening pain like I was before. This weekend I had the ultimate test, when I worked on my car a few hours replacing my suspension. My back didn't tense up or freeze up once. I feel more flexible. I hope to get more stronger in my core and rid myself of back pain (& neck pain) for the rest of my life. Combined with a healthy diet and a more active lifestyle while I still can. Give Adolph & Kalkstein a try. I've always a fan of massage to relieve muscle tension from sitting and driving but was skeptical of chiropractic treatments. My wife had good experiences here and suggested that I try these guys out to help increase my flexibility and mobility for our ballroom dancing, and to relieve some muscle tension. It was a bit startling at first to experience the cracking of my neck and back but I was amazed at how much movement I gained after the adjustments. While I sometimes leave my appointments with more pain than before, it usually goes away after some prescribed exercises and overall it appears to be helping me.

If I could, I'd give 10 stars. Dr. Blake and his team are truly a Blessing. Around Christmas of 2018 I experienced vertigo that no matter how hard I tried, I could not shake; I also had a bit of a hunch in my upper back with some mild back pain. I tried OTC medicines like Meclizine to help with dizziness and mild bits of faintness and nausea, however, I just could not shake the vertigo no matter how much bed rest I received, or the amount water I drank. So I decided to search YouTube to see if their were any home remedies that I had not thought of to fix my vertigo issue. One of the YouTube videos that I saw was of Adolph & Kalkstein Chiropractic, and they did a great job of helping a client out. I searched Google, and thank God they were only a few minutes away. I reached out to their office and they accepted my insurance and took me in right away. I explained my issues to Dr. Blake and how nervous I was to have my neck cracked, and he graciously walked me through every step of the process, and worked with my anxiety. He came up with a game plan to help me get my life back, and we followed it to the letter. I can now happily say that 1 month later, just as he said in the beginning with his plan, that my Vertigo is GONE, and my back in straight and strengthened!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! In closing, Thank you to the wonderful Staff at Adolph & Kalkstein Chiropractic for giving me my life back without needing to take, or stay on medicines. If anyone out there is a sceptic like I was of being adjusted, this is the place to go. Ask for Dr. Blake, he performs miracles.

I went to a pain clinic for over one year and had the same pain when I left and started. I had given. I left my job and gained 40 lbs. I just came to the conclusion that I would have to live the rest of my life in pain. I made an appointment with Dr. Jeff as my last chance. I am amending this report as I had only had one session with him. Now I have had six and the pain has decreased at least 70%. The staff are great. They help you as such as they can. Dr. Blake is the first doctor to actually give me some relief with my shoulder pain since I first injured it in 2007. I tried dry needling and I'll be honest the needles are intimidating but they are smaller than a regular needle and you can barely feel them the entire time. I recommend this practice because they are willing to take new and different approaches to helping their patients that differs from the standard chiropractic care.

I have been working with this practice for almost a year now. I first came to Adoph and Kalkstein after a minor strain in my hamstring which I did not properly rest and rehabilitate. I continued to run too soon after the injury, and my original issue compounded into a bunch of hip, glute/piriformis and hamstring pain and trigger points. I've been treated with a bunch of approaches including dryneedling, massage, ultrasound /stim, adjustments and movement assessment and retraining. I've found the dryneedling and strengthening to be particularly effective. I've worked with all three of the doctors and most of their assistants and they are all excellent. I particularly like Dr. Warren and Jonathan who are super thorough and knowledgeable. Things that stand out about this practice: they really want you to get better and take a holistic approach to your care. They've worked with me and my insurance to make sure that I was covered. The Drs. have a great bedside manner, are responsive, listen well, and answer your questions with patience. Over the months, I've become more knowledgeable and active in my care. All of this means a great deal to me as I am generally not a fan of medical offices and have had some dealings with horrible doctors. They also have a youtube channel where you can get a better glimpse into their practice Excellent family practice and highly recommended. Thanks for getting me back to running!

Amazing chiropractor to go to! I was referred by a friend and was hesitant at first because I live in Bel Air (35-45 min drive). Kalkstein is worth the trip. I had to go twice a week for almost two months with a lower back injury and then another few weeks once I re-injured myself. They took good care of me and showed me different exercises to incorporate into my daily workout routine. I am a physician who has been struggling for years with pain/tightness in my left buttock and sacral area due to piriformis syndrome and SI joint dysfunction. Like many professionals, I spend the majority of my day sitting and find it difficult to get relief from my symptoms because of the nature of my work. Over the past few years, I have been to various specialists-- physical medicine/rehab physicians and orthopedists-- and have tried various treatments, from trigger point and steroid injections, and PT, but each time had only minimal and transient relief. I have been receiving chiropractic care for a few years now. I am an ultra marathon runner, usually running multiple 50 and 100 milers throughout the year. If you are runner, you should be getting chiropractic care. I started going to Dr. Blake and Dr. Jeff when I transitioned jobs and started working the Towson area. Its been a few months, and I am extremely surprised by the care they have given me. I recently injured myself, and this year has been rough. It was a simple hamstring strain which evolved into ITBS (IT Band Syndrome). I initially went to Dr. Blake not thinking anything of involving my injury.I had to stop running because of my injury. I dropped both a 100k and 100 miler race, and thought I was just going to have find some other way of treating my injury. But Dr. Blake had other plans.A few months in, and I am now able to run again and feel like the ultra runner I used to be. Over the past couple of months, he has rehabilitated my leg to be able to start running again. Dry needling has helped tremendously, but the biggest impact has been massage therapy. Art, who is the massage therapist at the office is AMAZING! 3 sessions with him, and my leg feels completely different. There is still a lot of work to be done, but I know that I am on the path of reentering my sport. For those of you who follow ultra running, I am qualified to enter Western States 100 and that is my goal. Needless to say, I have big, lofty goals. Seriously, if you are an athlete, you need to see Dr. Blake, he will take your performance to the next level. I didn't expect to be able to run again for some time, but now I am pursing my goals again, and its thanks to Dr. Blake who said on the first day "I'll have you running again in no time."
