I have been a patient of Dr. Pete's since 2000. Dr. Pete is an extremely talented chiropractor who was born to adjust people. He has an intuitive touch that can only be explained as innate. Since seeing Dr. Pete I no longer need to take any over the counter medications and I am proud to say that I am 40 and on ZERO prescription medications and plan to never be on any. It's an irreplaceable part of my wellness plan. I couldn't recommend him enough.

A dear friend introduced me to Dr. Pete and Dr. Katie Gay last year in October 2016..and I have been hooked ever since! I didn't have much experience with chiropractic care and it's many healing benefits. Dr. Pete and Dr. Katie are a wealth of knowledge. Their confident gentle touch put me at ease from the beginning. Their approaches are truly holistic. The last year of my life I have undergone a total transformation of spirit thanks to the work they do . I even got my husband, who is a skeptic, hooked! I believe Pete played a role in my sons conception. I went through my whole pregnancy without any nausea, pain or any complications. I gave birth to a healthy beautiful boy and 24 hours later Dr. Pete and Dr. Katie came to visit and adjust me and my son at the hospital! I am so grateful that my whole family now is in such caring compassionate hands at Family Chiropatric of Kennebunk.

Our entire family has been seeing Dr. Pete & Katie since March 2016 and we absolutely adore them! My 5 year old son had just been diagnosed with Strabismus, double vision and an inoperable brain tumor and we were desperately seeking ways to help his body heal itself. I was always hesitant on visiting a chiropractor but my roommate insisted that my chronic headaches but disappear with a few adjustments. She and I made back to back appointments. She and I were made to purchase expensive X-ray photos and thermography graphs in order to even get an adjustment. The entire adjustment probably took 5 minutes or less but in those 5 minutes would change the rest of my semester at college. Soon it was time to adjust my neck- Dr. Pete Gay had me sit up straight and took my head with each hand on the sides of my head and snapped it- first to the right and then the left. I was so in shock and scared that I naturally tensed before he snapped it to the left. They pressed us to come back again with a time limit- that weekend. All I remember was feeling faint and dazed and not wanting to cry in public so I ushered my roommate whom had been adjusted earlier to leave as soon as we paid the bill. Later that night we were in our dorm when my roommate began to complain of even more pain in her back than before and she refused to go back. At the time I thought she was over exaggerating. I felt fine. And adjustments take time for you to feel the results. And boy was I right. The next morning at 5am I was woken up by the burning in the thoracic area of my spine. I didn't think much of it so I waited for it to get better. I tried to walk to the bathroom but I realized I was having trouble moving my right leg. I gripped the walls to help haul me to the bathroom. In the end I sank to the floor and my roommate had to actually take me to the bathroom. I began taking incoherently, she just believed i had s head cold. I refused and still needed to go to the bathroom. So she took me, and as I sat down,my right leg began to spasm uncontrollably. I remember trying to hold it in place with both hands but it was futile. 8am chemistry class comes and that's when the chronic headaches began and would not stop. Not knowing at the time- I would be for the rest of the school year. I was adamant on not missing a class during my nursing school journey. 19, a collegiate cheerleader, and officer of two clubs I was adamant on not screwing up. The thoracic burning sensation began to spread to the lumbar region of my back. I began to verbally lash out to my loved ones. I was unable to walk down long hallways without being dizzy or fainting. But I finally noticed this wasn't your average head cold when my neck began to burn spreading to my cranium and pressure filling my skull like molten lava. I would cry after class everyday to get the pressure "out". And I was to undergo physical, occupational, speech therapy as well as see a OMT and to my dress- a chiropractor. Since Dr. Gays adjustment I was so scared to have people touch my neck. I knew I had to take action so I spent my summer going to rehabilitation and doctor after doctor. I was still suffering from the spine burning, leg spasming, and I would periodically lose feeling in a leg or arm. The doctors insisted I go to a neurologist for a "nerve conduction study." But I refused. My sister forced me to go to a chiropractor in my local town because i was determined not to go back to Family Chiropractic. I was very blunt with my chiropractor- telling him I couldn't affford more X-rays and I had pictures from my last chiro experience with my neck. He listened patiently to me tell my story. He said he doesn't need to see X-rays or see thermography reports- that he could tell any required adjustment from just feeling my spine. I laid down and the minute he touched my neck his expression changed to worry. My C1 was rotated inwards and pinching my nerves and were tightening up to "protect themselves" causing my severe headaches and loss of sensation. I began to hyperventilate and cry when he was about to adjust my neck, but he was very patient and waited to feel my neck relax before adjustments. I gained sensation back and my spine didn't burn. I was relieved of my chronic headaches and will never go to Family Chiropractics in Kennebunk.

I highly recommend Family Chiropractic. Everyone there is wonderful to work with and they have made a huge difference in my life. I first visited them for severe headaches, and they have not only helped them but also with asthma, back pain, and other health issues. I had never been treated by a chiropractor before and they have been great at explaining things along the way, and also showing that Chiropractic care is not just to treat back pain (as so many people assume), but to help the body heal itself against a variety of ailments.

This man has the TOUCH!! I've been to at least 15 chiropractors in my life and Dr Pete is the man with the touch. This is a serious chiropractic office with an ace doctor. His adjustments are precise, gentle and unlike any others you've had before. I have a very difficult neck problem due to an injury I sustained in my 20's. Dr Peter knows EXACTLY what to do and has benefited me more than any other chiropractor. His office is accommodating and immaculate and his staff is super great to work with. A++ business here! My husband and I moved to Maine in August of 2015. We had been receiving chiropractic care for at least 12 plus years in NH. We asked our Chiropractor for a referral. He didn't hesitate to reccomend Dr. Pete's and Dr. Kate's practice. As soon as we went and had our initial exam we knew we found our new Chiropractor. Family Chiropractic of Kennebunk hasn't only given us great care, they have been very helpful in becoming acclimated to our new area. Dr. Pete has been very helpful on giving us great places to visit and eat!
