I've never been to a Chiropractor prior to coming to his office, but from day one I felt at ease and very comfortable. I came to his office due to a neck injury. He did x-rays and I was able to return the next day where he went over the results and told me what to expect as far as treatment. The treatment I have received has been wonderful and I am feeling much better as a result of his care. I would definitely recomment Dr. Martin! Dr. Martin's practice is refreshingly different and interesting. It's different becasue he and the staff are focused on a holistic approach that both lessens or eliminates the pain and addresses, in a competent, effective manner, the underlying cause. I've been to a number of chiropractors over the years for headaches. Most limit their focus to doing adjustments. Dr. Martin performs adjustments along with prescribing some very doable (in practical terms) exercises that keep my muscles loose and nimble, thereby allowing me to minimize the underlying cause of the headaches. His practice is interesting because he takes a very disciplined approach toward managing the patient experience. I once commented that his staff was very cheerful and service orientated. He told me that a cheerful, cooperative spirit is an express requirement of the job. He wants patients to know that, no matter how difficult life may be otherwise, they will be exposed to only to positive people while they are in the office. It is an impressive goal!

I went to Dr. Martin after having back pain for close to 15 years. I was ran over by a truck in 1998. All the other doctors I talked to wanted to operate and I wasn't ready to do that yet. After just a couple weeks of visits I have noticed a marked improvement in how I feel. I used to come home from work and spend the rest of the day on the heating pad. Sometimes as much as 10 hours. Now I don't spend nowhere near that much time on the heating pad. I only spent about an hour total over the past three days. That's a lot better and gives me time to start doing the things I enjoy again. The best part is I'm not completely done yet. There is still room for improvement and I am looking forward it. The staff is extremely friendly and make the experience like visiting friends instead of going to just another doctors appointment. They are also very thorough when going over what is going on with you and how they are going to treat you. Another big plus is they aren't pushy, they tell you the suggested treatment and then let you decide what to do. Absolutely no pressure. There is always water, coffee, and cookies out for everyone. They also have a fun selection of books that get changed regularly. But I haven't had much of a chance to read any because I don't think I have ever had to wait longer than 5 minutes and that is when I get there early. They do great work and have a very friendly staff. I would recommend them to anybody that is thinking about getting Chiropractic work done. Thanks Dr. Martin, Susan, and Katie.

I'm a repeat patient of Dr. Martin. I first met him about 4 years ago when I was dealing with severe neck pain. After a few months of treatment, I was back to my baseline, doing all the things I did before! Well, several years later, the same issue occurred, and within a few months, I'm back to feeling better than I have in a long time! This time I plan to complete some of the recommended "maintenance" treatments to keep me feeling my best. I have been going to Dr. Martin for 8 months or so. i started due to a problem with my Ciatic and Dr. Martin has been a life saver for me. LC&R is the most progressive and efficient healthcare facility that Louisville is lucky to have. My most recent visit, like the ones before it, began with sharp pain in my lower back and ended about 12 minutes later with just a minor dull pain that was completely gone by the next day. It hasn't returned. There was no wait - Dr. Martin called me back just as I was sitting down to read one of the waiting room's kewl books about dogs. At any other practice, I would have struggled with my insurance deductible & co-payments, but LC&R's office manager, Katie, worked with my carrier to come up with a realistic budget plan. I have had chronic neck and back issues since childhood. After moving to the area and being away from chiropractic for a while, I found Dr. Martin at a time when I was really hurting and having great difficulty walking. Dr. Martin saw me the same day I called, which has always been my experience with his office, and immediately started a treatment plan to get me walking comfortably again. Progress came quickly. I was limping severely on my first visit, which was on a Wednesday, and by Saturday, I was wearing high heels to a family wedding, though walking very carefully. That was two years ago, and I continue to see Dr. Martin regularly. His technique is different from my past chiropractic experiences, but it works. Neck adjustments are much more gentle and have increased my range of motion. I highly recommend Dr. Martin.

I have been going to Dr. Martin for about 4 weeks now and can already tell what a huge improvement it has had! I went for the initial visit to ask about a pain in my lower back and my knee. Turns out I had another issue with my neck that I would've never known about if it wasn't for the x-ray. I am a big fan of working out and staying very active, but the pain in my knee had stopped me from running almost a year ago. I was very surprised that only after a few adjustments the pain in my knee was gone and I am now back to running! My body just feels better overall! Dr. Martin is very patient and made sure to answer all my questions and make me feel comfortable. All the girls in the office are just as friendly! It's nice to walk in, be greeted with a smile and know everyone on a first name basis. Just an overall welcoming place! :) Updated- 3 years later I am still currently going to Dr. Martin to maintain my health and wellness... I stay very active and it's very important to keep my mind and body as strong as possible! I have also continued my visits through 2 pregnancies which I believe has made a huge difference. I was at the Northeast YMCA and the Lowe Chiropractic were there offering free e-rays and evaluations. I know that Chiropractors can so wonder with some kinds of problems, but I did not think they could help with mine and I was skeptical. I have arthritis in most joints but I had my right thumb and my left hip with pain. My right thumb was at least 50% non functional and had pain. My thumb hurt with trying to text. After two adjustment my hip pain is gone and my thumb pain and use is at least 80% improved.. I am very encouraged with this result.

I apologize in advance for this long review. Although I read reviews, I normally do not post any myself. I intend to post a review but then time passes and I just forget. This time, I will not forget! Over the last few years, Dr. Martin and his staff has helped my family tremendously! First, my then teenage daughter was having back pain and through Dr. Martin, we found out that she grew so fast, one side of her hip was higher than the other. I then was involved in a car accident. I already knew to go to him for help. That was 3 years ago. Since then, I have referred my friends to him and they just loved him. Last week, my teenage son was involved in a car accident and once again, Dr. Martin is now treating him. He has treated my whole family! I used to be like many people, having a bad view of chiropractors as there is sometimes an impression of ineffectiveness and shady dealings just to be in cahoots with injury attorneys. I will tell you from my own experience that it is not the case with Dr. Martin. If I can trust him with my babies as well as myself, there is something to be said, as I am a very detailed oriented person and I research everything. His bedside manner and cheerfulness is very comforting and he shows he cares. He is also very informative and educated us on the natural way to help ourselves live a better life. His office is very organized and although the staff has changed over the years, I have always enjoyed them. I don’t want us to need any chiropractic care anytime soon but when I do, I know exactly who to call. Hmm, I have actually thought about getting monthly or every 2 months adjustments for continued maintenance. :)

Back pain is terrible. It kept me up at night, truly affecting my quality of life. I downed ibuprofen like it was candy, slept on heating pads, used Ben Gay---nothing helped. I am a regular (less regular these days due to finding relief) so this is not one of those first impression reviews. I know (or at least thought I knew) what this guy could do. I sold the man short After 3 weeks of solid dog walking my whole right side neck, shoulder, hip etc were killing me. So I asked him if there was anything he could do. He said he'd take a swing at it but no promises and wouldn't you know it after a brief (an hour or so) period of stiffness, I experienced complete relief No pain killers, no muscle relaxants just 15 minutes on the table. SO The choice is yours $40 and 15 mins or who knows how much and weeks of pills that don't fix the original problem. I'm happy with the choice, I hope you will be too

Summary: I'm getting huge relief not only of pain but of pressure on the spine, mental fuzziness, and general malaise, and the office staff treats me like the staff of a fine hotel might. I've been worked on by many chiropractors over the last 20 years or so, and I would say that this is the office I'm most impressed with overall. 1. Atmosphere. Dr. Martin, Susan, and Katie work as a cheerful team. All three are personable, explain things thoroughly, treat patients with respect, and are enjoyable to be around. The office is pleasant and well-lit and doesn't smell, there's a place for children to play, they hand out cookies and water bottles, and the quirky selection of books on the waiting room table go through a rotation, appearing and disappearing in turn. 2. Efficiency. Practices and procedures are in place which make everything run smoothly, but unlike many efficiency nuts, these folk don't subsume the needs of the individual to some rote procedures. Rather they use "best practices." They even appear to be expert in assisting patients with insurance questions. I never wait long and the waiting I do is never unpleasant or boring. 3. Intelligence. I know not many reviewers rate the intelligence of the people at places they frequent, but I personally get sick of working with people who apathetically tell you they can't do anything about your problem. These people are involved, have options for you, and understand what you are trying to tell them. 4. Price. The last office I went to charged, not per visit but per body-area adjusted. So if you got your neck, hip, and thoracic adjusted in the same visit, you'd get charged three times. Thankfully, Dr. Martin's office charges per visit, has a small separate charge for rehab, and worked out a treatment/payment plan that was respectful of my financial limits. They got me some initial relief for a very low price, and then worked finances out later. Family members I refer get a really incredible deal for their first visit and they donate a ton of money to Make A Wish Foundation. For the first time ever, I felt safe committing to a course of treatment because Katie explained exactly how long they felt I should come and why, and proposed an equal weekly payment that would cover everything. At the same time there was no pressure and I could have chosen something easier on the budget. 5. Treatment efficacy: Although I'm still in the middle of my treatment plan, I am experiencing definite improvement. Not only is my pain level and down to almost nothing (from rendering me almost non-functional when I first came in) but I seem to be getting some of my lost height and most of my lost range of motion back. Some of this depends on doing the exercises and working on your posture, but Dr. Martin definitely gets me moving and answers all my questions intelligibly and helpfully. He takes x-rays but he also does a lot by feel, which is reassuring because I know he's up to date on my condition. I've also heard him decline to opine on issues not within his area of expertise, which is equally reassuring. His adjustment table doesn't move if that's important to you. Here's something I always take the opportunity to point out to any new parents, especially those whose babies cry a lot: they need a chiropractic adjustment! Dr. Martin offers gentle baby and child adjustments. Hint on finding the office: it's in the parking lot with a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market. The office is not really visible from Blankenbaker but if you turn into the Wal-Mart parking lot you will find the office next to a fitness club near the opposite end. It is also accessible from Main Street.

I have been seeing Dr. Martin since 2011. He has been wonderful and relieved my back pain. He continued to see me throughout my pregnancy and I always felt better after his adjustments. I started taking my 20 month old daughter to him because she wasn't walking yet and I was getting concerned it could be her spine. After just two adjustments, she took off! I was so happy and excited. We will continue to see Dr. Martin and I highly recommend him.

I started seeing Dr. Martin over a year ago for lower back pain (sciatic nerve pain), now I'm getting care for my neck and jaw. My jaw was constantly locking, and popping when I opened it. To say that I was a skeptic of chiropractic treatment would be an understatement. Years of working insurance injury claims made me that way. Years of working insurance injury claims also became a pain in my neck. I suffered with intense neck strain and often presented to urgent care clinics for relief. I took muscle relaxers or anti inflammatory meds to relive the tension. I had also been seen by my general practitioner and completed physical therapy with no relief. I found myself at urgent care again this time with my neck pain the worst I had experienced. The doctor mentioned trying a chiropractor. I expressed my concerns due to my prior work experience and he said “I believe this guy right behind us is pretty good”. I made an appointment with Dr. Martin. He took x-rays (no one previously took the time) and immediately pointed out my problem. It was more than a strain. My cervical discs were compressing causing inflammation. He told me if I stuck with his recommended treatment I would see improvements. So each week I showed up three times a week, generally still skeptical, but each time I listened to what Dr. Martin was saying. Just as he told me I was feeling better by the third week. He eventually decreased my weekly visits and now I can go as needed. I literally went from not being able to turn my head on my pillow without excruciating pain to what I consider back to my old self. Dr. Martin stays within the scope of chiropractic practice and I appreciate that . He isn’t trying to sell me snake oil, health supplements or suggesting I inject myself with HCG to get skinny. Yes, there are chiropractors who do that! Dr. Martin, Victoria and Talia are a breath of fresh air and never fail to brighten my day. I am always in and out without long waits whether I schedule an appointment or just drop in. When I found myself in the throws of menopause and crying non stop for no reason I even got a hug! You truly can’t beat that! If you are hesitating just make the appointment. You won’t be disappointed.

I initially came into the office because of some lower back pain that I was having as a result of a basketball injury. The office took such good care of me in my first few visits the pain was gone. Since then, the headaches that I had just become accustomed to as a part of life have been occurring less frequently and less severely. I enjoyed my experience so much my wife is now also on a treatment plan and is really enjoying it as well. I cannot recommend this treatment, the doc, or his staff more.

Dr Martin asked to treat me for the severe sinus migraines I have suffered since moving here 5yrs ago. The fact that he noticed changes in my "smile" let me know just how much he cares about whole health. While the first treatment brought instant relief, a total of 4 treatments on my sinus has left me migraine free and my sinus flare ups are almost nonexistent! Friendly, professional, and always going the extra mile for their patient.

I had been sleeping 2 to 3 hours per night, if I was lucky, for 4 weeks due to a strange lower left back pain which radiated down to my ankle. I walked into the office and was able to get a same day appointment and consult. X-rays were taken and a treatment plan proposed and so it began. Due to my dire need for sleep Dr. Martin also did a slight adjustment the first day and after a few visits i was able to sleep through the night and returned to totally pain free after my 2nd week. I was amazed! Dr. Martin is super and explains everything in depth while the staff is very friendly and courteous. They are extremely accomodating on payment olans as well for those of us who have stubborn insurance (or uninsured) as it ended up better for me not going through my insurance provider. Also a huge benefit is the flexibilty on getting in and out of the office throughout the day. If you're in pain and suffering I highly recommend you call Dr. Martin and team and give them a try!

I love the Louisville Chiropractic and Rehab. I have gone to a chiropractor for years, and needed a switch. I moved over to Dr. Martin and it has made a difference. I love the office and everyone who works there is friendly, helpful, and outgoing. And I have never felt better! This has been an amazing switch for me. Dr. Martin and his staff are wonderfully nice. I felt a little better after the first visit but that amount is growing. I was having problems with my back and neck which caused headaches and fatigue. I have had little to no headaches and my back almost never hurts. When it does hurt it is only a dull ache instead of stabbing pain. I have had this problem for EIGHT whole years and they are relieving my pain.
