Ten months ago I was hasty in my decision to rate Modern with only 3 stars. The positive experience I have here is worth more than 5 stars can describe. Modern Chiropractic is the perfect balance for professionalism and yet lighthearted staff, prompt service yet never sloppy delivery. I've been to another chiropractor before and was familiar with going in for a quick 10 minute adjustment and sent on my way. Modern Chiropractic is SO much more than that. You will notice it right away when you walk in. I had an injury for over a month that caused my fingers to be numb all the time, and it wasn't getting better. I started treatment at Modern Chiropractic with Dr. Joe. After just a few weeks, there was significant improvement. Just a few visits later, its gone away completely. I continued to go in for treatment to improve my spine & posture. I feel so much better by going to see Dr. Joe and Dr. K. The rest of the staff are great and treat everybody so nice (something I didn't experience at prior chiropractor). They also have the BEST massage person at their office, so be sure you don't miss out on that too.

I knew my back needed adjusting, “obviously it hurt most of the time.” MC2 fixed my back pain, but what I did not know would happen was the chronic pain and stiffness in my knees going away. After a couple weeks -my husband asked how I liked the care at MC2, I said, you know, since MC2 has been working on my back… I’ve noticed that the motion in my knees is better and that I’m not in pain. I am a little over 4 months into my year-long care plan with Modern, and I am blown away by the results so far. I never thought that the pain I felt could actually be fixed. Not only relieved by getting regular adjustments, but actually changing my spine to how it should be. In my 3 months so far we have already seen an incredible shift in my alignment, and I feel better than I have ever felt before. I have more energy, I am in a better mood and my day to day life is much easier now that I am not always in pain from a tight neck/shoulder/back area from working at a desk all day. I can now go out and ride my bike or go hiking without the fear of how much it will start to hurt and hinder me. I am constantly practicing better posture and sleeping in better positions, but it feels good. Fixing my spine is the best decision I have ever made, it is so worth the investment in myself and my future. Everyone at Modern is amazing. Don't live in pain. I have been only going for 2 months and feel like a new person. I have had lower back pain for 17 years and thought it was something i had to live with. Not only does my back feel better but many other pain are going away. I have very few headaches and when i do get them they are mild. I have not had any migraines in the last 2 months. My experience with chiropractors dates back to being treated by the first licensed chiropractor in Michigan, 30 years ago. I had survived a car accident with a freight train. Modern medicine then, was telling me I was just complaining and needed to grab myself by the boot straps and move on. Two years of chiropractic treatments are what kept me going. I was ultimately diagnosed by modern medicine with a herniated disc and had surgery. That is what I was told on my first visit to the chiropractor and he showed me the x-ray to prove it. Chiropractic was new to me, it was intimidating. Similar feelings returned when I entered, (barely able to walk) Modern Chiropractic Center. But, I was greeted with a very genuine and enthusiast, "hi" from the front counter. The center is open, treatment tables are not in the little stuffy closed off rooms I am accustomed to. This new to me layout seemed intimidating. I wasn't sure I wanted others to be able to see me being adjusted. after filling out the paperwork I was taken to a room where I was x-rayed. The Dr. carefully posed me for the x-rays, (being careful not to make the pain worse),and then for actual pictures. The next step was in another office to review the x-rays and pictures. The Dr. had my "pictures" on a computer screen showing where my spine was out of alignment, and the photographs showing my horrible posture. What I saw justified my pain, I was in bad shape. All my questions were answered thoughtfully and pleasantly. Next stop was on to the adjustment table where heat was applied. Then there were 2 machines used to massage my back, to loosen the spammed tight muscles. After the adjustments, I was taken to another table where I was gently stretched. Next I laid on cold packs to reduce the inflammation. Heat, massage, stretching and the cold in the same visit was a new experience. It worked! The severe pain was reduced to a level of discomfort. A huge difference. I was barely able to walk in, now I was mostly upright and only uncomfortable. After a total of 4 treatments, no pain, my posture is nearly completely restored. I highly recommend MC2 to anyone experiencing back pain. The open layout of the office is now a welcomed experience. The results I have experienced will keep me going back on a regular basis. I never want to feel the level of pain again, that caused to visit them in the first place.

I have had chronic lower back pain for over 16 years, it was so debilitating at times I would have to slide off the couch, get on my knees and pull myself up with my arms. Modern Chiropractic is the first chiropractic office I've ever walked into, and I honestly can't imagine walking in to a different one! I came in with an acute pain issue, but when you come to the office, you're required to fill out a complete pain/complaints survey, and I had a whole laundry list of other issues, from constipation, to migraines, to numbness and tingling in the left side of my body. Dr. Katherine is the one with whom I've worked more intimately, especially with my more tertiary issues, and she's been absolutely wonderful offering suggestions to help with them. Dr. Joe is the one who reviewed my initial x-rays with me, and he was great about explaining the imaging and its analysis to me in a way I could understand. I'm now about two months in to treatment for my scoliosis (which went undiagnosed for about twenty years) and some issues with my neck curvature, and not only has my acute pain disappeared, I've experienced relief from my constipation, my migraines are coming less frequently and are more manageable when they do come, and my overall sense of wellness has improved exponentially. The entire staff of Modern Chiropractic Center is fantastic, and their upbeat attitude and approach to patient care makes my visits an absolute joy every time. I can't say enough about how thankful I am for how much they've helped me in such a short amount of time.

Massage Therapy, Their Equipment/Machines, Technicians/Staff, Docs, are absolutely top notch! They're beyond friendly, extremely cheerful I'd say! Clean. They're the only ones who've treated me, & It's improved posture & pain. Less Pain, is always better. Give them a try, you won't regret it. If you're a Veteran, & eligible for Chiropractic/Massage Therapy, make sure you tell them that this is where you want to be treated!

I couldn't wait for my 24 visit recheck to write this review. This practice is unlike any chiropractic you've ever been to. Unlike standard chiropractors, you aren't treated like a cash cow to be milked 3x a week for a 40 second adjustment that never really gives you any real correction- just pain relief at best. This incredible practice uses adjustments. But they also use devices to vibrate your muscles and adjust your spine with a 'thumping' clicker. The main difference in this practice is that you get put into specialized traction devices that actually retrain your brain and spine to correct your alignment. They aren't painful and it's absolutely incredible what this can do. It's 1000x more effective than adjustments alone. You also get stretches and exercises to do at home. There is also a slew of supplements, kinesiology tape, pain relief, specialized pillows, neck wedges and all manner of "this will help you" there. I saw Dr. Joe years ago and he was the ONLY chiropractor, out of several dozen, that I've worked with, who actually got REAL CORRECTION in my back. Unfortunately I moved out of state 5 years ago and wasn't able to finish my treatment. My back only got progressively worse. At 39 I was in such constant, extreme pain that I actually sold my house to move back to Boise and go back to Dr. Joe. Sounds extreme doesn't it? On my first visit I told Dr. Joe that it would be worth it to me if he could just tell me why I'm in such horrible pain. 3 seconds of looking at the x-rays my doctors and other chiros looked at and thought were fine, he was able to show me how drastically misaligned my spine was. I thought it would take years to get it better. And I'm very low income, on disability. I didn't think I could afford it. But honestly, I couldn't afford not to come here. This was the reason I came back. I was ready to go into serious debt on my credit cards for the chance of getting out of this godforsaken pain that has sucked my life away. Turns out I didn't need to worry. They have a program that discounts services for disabled and severely low-income people. My God I feel so blessed. Only 24 visits later and I just got to examine my new xrays. I wasn't expecting there to be any real change because I only go 2x a week, and ended up missing a lot of 2nd appointments, as Dr. Joe is so in demand as a teacher he is always leaving to fly around the country giving seminars. (Yeah. You could be lucky enough to get a doctor of his caliber working on your back, right here in Boise!) I also wasn't able to do any of my home exercises because of the pain I have. So I was certain there wouldn't be any real change yet. I almost died when I saw the xrays. He has a program that superimposes a green line for where your spine should be and a red line for where it is. That way you can measure the degree to which you need correction. Mine was very severely off of where it should be when I started. 24 visits later and I'm almost in perfect correction in most of my areas! I really think it's impossible. But it actually happened. So Dr. Joe recommended I come in once a week from now on (AFTER ONLY 24 VISITS! When was the last time your chiropractor said you should come in less?!!) I've been in a daze since. I honestly thought it would take years to get my back sorted out. It really was in dire condition. I honestly feel like this has been a miracle. And everyone in this practice is so nice. They greet you by name and you feel like you're family. Gracie takes care of you like a second mother. Everyone is extremely competent and devoted to patient care. In closing, if you are in pain, don't waste your time or money on regular chiropractic that doesn't work. I can almost guarantee they won't do anything for you but take your money 3x a week, possibly giving some temporary pain relief. Don't let this opportunity pass you by like I did all those years ago. I ended up losing so much of my life to pain, and all because I didn't stick with the only thing that really works. I'm kicking myself now. I never should have moved away.

But I wish I would have done more research before I called. I am in pain due to a misalignment from carring something that was too heavy, so I am looking for a quick alignment.... BTW, they are not in network with Regence, so expect to pay out of pocket if you're with Regence.... I've been to other Chiropractors in the valley who give me an adjustment, charge me $50, and done within an hour- then I'm usually good to go for a year. Modern Chiropractic wants to do a 2 hour evaluation and xrays before an adjustment. The heat treatment was nice, and the vibration tool helped my stiff muscles, but the adjustmet I received was minimal. I paid $180 today. I have a backpaking trip this weekend and I need someone aggressive who will get me straight before the weekend. I don't have time for months of therapy. If you're someone who requires ongoing Chiropractic care, I would definitely recommend them. But if you're looking for once and done adjustment, you should look around. Again, the staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable! Just make sure this is the services you're looking for.

It has only been a little over a month and I am already standing so much straighter. I went in with excruciating back pain. I couldn't sit for more than 10 minutes, I was struggling to do my job, I couldn't even lay down. I have known for a while that I have scoliosis, that is what brought me to MC2. A friend of my dad told me about what they did and that they specialized in spine curvature. So I went in for a consultation pretty defeated and terrified I would always be in the same amount of pain that I went in with. I still have my rough days, but even the worst ones aren't nearly as painful as they were before I started. I am so excited to be able to drive, work, and sleep again. I highly recommend Modern Chiropractic Center. For years, I woke up every day with neck, shoulder, low back, and/or hip pain. I changed beds, pillows, and chiropractors. Over time, my activities were becoming more limited. Conventional chiropractic treatments were not providing effective relief. I started considering if I would need to seek surgical solutions. Bottom line, I wasn’t receiving a wholistic treatment, understanding of my spinal curvature, and tailored specifically to my needs. That is, until I came to Modern Chiropractic. Modern Chiropractic’s treatment plan looks at you as an individual. They start with x-ray’s that allow them to understand your unique issues. My spinal curvature was way off, and MC2 thought they could correct it. MC2 doesn’t just 'adjust you', they treat you. Instead of being in & out in 10 minutes, you spend an hour there stretching, getting hot pads, pre-adjustment massage, adjustments, traction, and then cold packs before you leave. The adjustments provide relief, but the traction systems reshape your spine to prevent pain. I can feel the difference, and I can see the difference in the X-rays. I wake up now without pain, having had a good nights rest. I stand straight and walk straight. Everyone at MC2 has been great, but a special thanks to those helping me: Dr. Joe, Dr. Mike, Brie, and the AMAZING Grace!
