I went to see Dr. Fitzsimons about an intractable frozen shoulder, a not-uncommon ailment among post-menopausal women. Comes on suddenly with no known cause, which makes it even more troubling. Frozen shoulder can resolve on its own but can take years, and you don't always get full range of motion back. Mine was pretty bad, and as a professional musician, was hampering my ability to play my guitar. Dr. Fitzsimons' intervention probably speeded the resolution of my problem by at least two thirds. He seemed to know exactly what to do in my situation. I am very grateful that I found him, and if you are reading this and have this condition, I would strongly recommend that you see him without delay. Although they always seem to be quite busy, they were able to squeeze me in on the very day that I called, which I appreciated.
