Last year I visited a local doctor (twice) for extreme chest and rib pain that would leave me in tears. I had no idea what it was or what was causing it. The only advice the provider offered for to me was to take NSAIDs and to lose some weight. Seriously. My parents recommended that I visit Dr. Mike at True Life Chiropractic. He took a lot of time to ask questions and get my feedback on what/where I was hurting. After the FIRST adjustment, the pain went away! I'm a pessimist when it comes to doctors, but he changed my point of view. I love Dr. Mike's work. I play rugby and am a power lifter; I now get regular adjustments to keep my body/spine going healthy and happy. His practice is friendly, efficient, and reliable. I recommend him for anyone. He listens to your needs and takes the time to explain what he does and why he does it. Dr. Mike is simply an amazing chiropractor!!! I came to him with a pinched nerve with pain radiating along my shoulder blade that I was sure was spinal in origin. The pain was so bad that it had been affecting my sleep for months. After two of the most comprehensive adjustments that I have ever had (fixed some problems that I did not know were there, e.g., collar bone out of whack, stuck section in lower thoracic from old skiing injury), it was clear that the nerve pain was not spinal. He then recommended me to have trigger point therapy sessions with Julie. With Julie's treatments and Dr. Mike's adjustments, I am at the lowest pain level I've been in years. The nerve pain is gone for the most part and I feel great! Dr. Mike truly cares about getting you back to health and makes it clear to you that that is his primary goal. I recommend him without reservation.

I came into this office with a work related injury. Let me assure you that when it comes to back pain this office is the place to go. I was almost hospitalized with the most painful back spasms I have ever even heard of. Unable to walk properly, Unable to work, scared and afraid at the time that this was a life changing injury. Before I found this chiropractic clinic, I was in constant pain for almost 4 years, I had visited 7 different clinics, each held the same results, I always felt majority of the pain come back before the end of the day. I was excited when I left True Life on the first day, everything felt functional again. It was almost 6 months after I had stopped receiving care before I tweaked my back and I didn't have to fuss with anybody about who I wanted to see, I already knew who will be able to fix me. I'm from Utah with the military, while I was here working, my hip got tweaked very bad and I was in serious pain. I called true life to setup an appointment for that day. The front desk was very helpful and very understanding. I met with dr. Mike and he took a lot of time to pin point the issue I was having. On a one to ten scale of pain, I was at a seven! He was very upfront with me on what needed to be done and I agreed to get it done. He was precise and professional. The pain is gone, I'm not limping, I'm walking more upright, and I feel a lot better. They're very military friendly, very professional, and he doesnt beat around the bush on what he needs to do. I love that he does entire body adjustments. I have a shoulder and back injury from a car accident two years ago and had been to physical therapy and orthopedic surgeons and had the shots and just figured that surgery would eventually be in my future for my shoulder.. it was depressing because I had so much pain when I did any overhead movements which meant I couldn’t move or workout like I wanted to. After one adjustment, my entire body felt better. After that one adjustment I could bear more weight on my bum shoulder and I now have no pain with it and am able to use this shoulder like nothing ever happened. I have a bad back that goes out when it feels like it. Two weeks ago it went out (for no reason). Everyone has been telling me to see a chiropractor but after a very BAD chiropractor experience I was very reluctant to see one. However, after almost two weeks of extreme pain, barely any sleep, and hardly able to walk I broke down and googled gentle chiropractor and True Life came up so I scheduled an appointment. I spent all weekend dreading today's appointment out of fear. Well I'm here to tell you it was the best experience ever. Dr. Michaud was wonderful and adjusted everything from head to toe. It wasn't painful and he gave me movements to take a breather when I needed. After he realigned my hips I was able to stand straight again after two weeks of my right hip being higher than my left. I left with virtually no pain after arriving at an 8. I would highly recommend him hands down. The receptionist at the desk was super friendly as well and the massage from Ms. Young was icing on the cake. FYI: They do accept TriWest and/or Veterans Choice

I have an autoimmune disease that affects my spine. Regular adjustments are necessary for me to keep my spine flexible. I have lived all over the place and been to many chiropractors. Some are ineffective and some are downright scary. Dr. Mike is neither of these. He listens to your problems and believes you, which is important in any relationship. I saw him at the height of a flare up, and he was patient going through the stages with me, as difficult as it was for both of us. As long as I'm in Anchorage, this is the only place I'll go for adjustments.

I haven't been able to squat or anything that required flexing my ankle without terrible pain for 3 years, 9 months. Talked with several doctors, and they all said the same, "it's fine, just takes a long time to heal" and "there's a lot of scar tissue". After 1 visit he found my ankle was misaligned and fixed it. Now, it feels 100% and don't have any pain. I really like that he doesn't just treat the symptom, he finds the root cause of the pain so you don't have to keep coming back. I went in because my back and we found that it was probably my ankle throwing everything off.

This review is definitely over due. I've only seen 3 chiropractors in my life, and only stuck with 2 of them. Moving here from Texas I was worried I wouldn't find a chiropractor that I liked or that was as good as my first one. If I would have stuck with the first guy I saw here, I wouldn't have. Dr. Mike though, is very thorough and excellent at what he does. I've been seeing him for probably about a year now. He adjusted me before getting pregnant, and now from the beginning of pregnancy to my third trimester. I wouldn't trust anyone else right now to take care of me and my baby with chiropractic care. He's answered all of my questions and concerns, and doesn't make me feel silly for having them. If something matters to me, it matters to him. In addition to this, my husband who had never seen a chiropractor before decided to start seeing him. He was extremely nervous. But he has also found great results and has less pain. I fell asleep wrong this past Thursday night and my right hand was tingling and numb all day. I called early Friday morning, thinking maybe massage therapy might get this pinched nerve smoothed out. During treatment it was suggested to get an alignment. I thought yes that might make it better. OK so got my massage and alignment, make a few stops still had the tingling sensation, I couldn't do anything all day...ie hold a pen, open my phone (fingerprint recognition), just basically not have a tight grasp on anything without feeling like my hand was in fire. Long story short waking up 2am Saturday morning I am 98% better than I was earlier. I know I still have to give it time, but Dr. Mike was awesome in helping to release the tension and tightness in my neck and get my nerve openings back on track. I suffred severe lumbar back pain last wednesday, was rush to the ER via ambulance because I can’t sit or stand at all due to severe pain. I was given fentanyl and toradol IV with minimum relief feom pain. Worse thing is that they send me home even if I Am still in severe pain. Nurse in ER even rush me to sit up and I screamed with pain. So they send me home without any medicine beside an ointment and they did not do any xray or any kind of imaging. After 3 days I am still struggling with standing or walking. I went to true life chiropractic, met Dr maurice, very nice and straight forward Dr. After adjusting me I felt relief immidiately, I am able to stand without my back supporter and able to bend and sit with minimal pain. I was thinking, I should have just went to this office instead of calling 911 for ambulance and go to ER, where in they did not do anything but to inject me pain meds. If you feel pain in tour back due to improper position or anything else and unable to sit or stand due to pain, dont call ambulance dont go to ER, instead go to a chiropractic office they will help you. I love the peolpe here, they help me with my pain. Go and met Dr maurice he will alleviate your pain.

True Life Chiropractic is #1 for me when I think about chiropractic adjustments, trigger point therapy, & massage therapy. I travel 400 miles (a jet ride from Bethel) to be able to go there. True Life also files my insurance for me, which is a big plus. Michael is absolutely the best chiropractor that I've ever been to. He is intuitive, adjusts extremities, the clavicle, ribs... everything! I had shooting electric pain from my ulnar nerve to my pinky & ring finger. After Michael adjusted my elbow I haven't had any issues. I have yet to be sore after an adjustment too. He uses both the drop table or just body maneuvers, depending on the need & comfort of the patient. I usually get trigger point or a massage when I get an adjustment. Their trigger point therapist has specialized in only trigger point & I had no idea how effective it is until I went to Julie. She even taught me how to do some things for myself. The massage therapist, Judy, has had 40 years experience & is freakishly strong for her small size. :-) 10 stars for True Life Chiropractic. They really care about wellness.
