Although the interior is a little outdated and old, the food makes up for it here at Roadside. My family has been praising their mac & cheese for years, and I now understand why they think its so good. Along with their amazing barbecue, the serve staff is also one to brag about. It is definitely a place to go that's local, and delicious.

My family and I were passing through a town and we stopped at Rodeside grill by chance for takeout. We were greeted right away by Pete who also introduced us to Mike the bartender. These guys were very friendly. They made our visit very pleasant at the same time we felt verrry comfortable. We ordered Asian Zing wings and cheeseburgers. The food was delicious and for a very reasonable price. I will DEFINATELY return and bring more friends and family.... Thanks Again Pete and Mike... To Mike.... I had to throw the 20 at you because you wouldnt take it lol ❤

Was told it would be a 15 minute wait. After 45 minutes was told it will still be a few minutes. Left after an hour. 3 groups that were also waiting in the lobby left as well. While the wait was long, there is a significant difference between 15 minutes and an hour. Had we been told that right away, we wouldn't have wasted our time waiting.

I've had good food here before, but I was very much not a fan of the club stacker at my latest visit. Excess in mayonnaise, and interestingly they use ham on their club sandwiches, which I did not like, nor did I care for the turkey on it. The sweet potato fries were good, and their desserts are delicious.

I was only there once for a private afternoon party, but it was fine. Casual dining, sports bar type atmosphere. They had a nice semiprivate area near the bar with hot hors d'oeuvres and sandwiches set up in the corner, and drinks prepaid via tickets. Finger food was good. I'll update my review if I get a chance to go back for a full meal.

This was our second visit to the restaurant. We came for the Friday night Fish Fry. It was good. We arrive by 5:30 and had no wait!

Our waitress was great and that's where the positive aspect of this review ends. The clam chowder was just above room temp and had a remarkable resemblance to off the shelf canned soup. The chicken pesto sandwich was nearly inedible with the combination of the strongest, paste-like pesto and gelatinous goo-like cheese I've ever eaten that, added bonus, did not sit well with me one bit the next day. Their entree stuffed chicken was cooked to dust-like consistency with the added bonus of being stuffed with canned mushrooms. My daughter liked her fish so I guess there's two positive things. Sorry, overall one star is generous for that dining experience that continues to haunt me hours and now days later.

I have been here several times and they have wonderful food. Today we had the worst service though. Upon arriving it was pretty busy, but we were told that we could be seated in 10-15 minutes. We waited so long, my kids didn't want to play in the toy room anymore. Waited some more, and tried to find out what was going on. Spoke with two host staff. One mumbled something about a few minutes and talking to a manager then disappeared forever. I spoke to another one who said something about checking and disappeared. We waited a few more minutes as others left and gave up. She did not return was wandering everywhere else. We left with no explanation.

Wasnt that great. Food was meh. I ordered biscuits and gravy and my biscuits were not cooked all the way. Service was slow (there was 3 other people in the dining area) and it took 10 minutes to get our orange juices. Our waitress was super friendly though and the place did feel clean.

Meatloaf sandwich with garlic mashed potatoes. Can you ask for better comfort food? Meatloaf was flavorful and moist. Garlic potatoes also delish. Bourbon-type sauce wasn't my cup of tea but it was on the side anyway and hubs loves it so he used it for his sweet potato fries. Plenty on the plate so had leftovers the next day. Value at $9.95. Place is conveniently located off 94.

My family and I have tried fish fry's all over the Madison area and there is none better than the Roadside. Big beautiful cod loins. The loin is the thick part of a fillet. It costs more for them to buy but nothing compares to it. It has an amazing thin beer batter that is so good. The sides are equally as good. You must try the French Onion soup and special order the hash browns with cheddar, green peppers and onions. The only thing as good as the cod is the walleye. They also have that on the breakfast menu. We had it again today. Its called the Fishermans breakfast. Walleye, two eggs and hash browns and toast. So good. It was like $9. Roadside Grill has been a go-to for our family for decades as a pretty solid "something for everyone" restaurant. They recently streamlined their menu, and it is a huge improvement. It has a great play room for kids, and plenty of big screen TVs at the bar. Service is always friendly, but not always fast, so we go when we have time to visit.

Our family went here for their Mother's Day buffet. Such an assortment of delicious breakfast/lunch items to choose from!! Wonderful! They even had a station where you could have an omelet made to suit your tastes. Fantastic!

Stopped in for dinner last night. I ordered the ground beef taco dinner and my husband had the steak sandwich. We have eaten here before when we come in for our getaway from Chicago. The tacos were dry and tasteless and the beans were so bland and thick, the rice was dry and tasteless . I told the waiter, he didn't charge us for the rice and beans. He said they have been having trouble with the beans...Well then why would you serve them to me? The steak sandwich was dried out pot roast. We won't be going back there. Oh and the waitress gave our credit card to another table. A gentleman at that table asked if it was our card.

I had the Endless Soup n Side Salad for $9.95. Its Friday, and they offered clam chowder- my absolute favorite. I was really looking forward to the soup as I was literally starving as I hadn't eaten due to work since a light lunch the previous day. The soup arrived and I was a little shocked as it looked like a Dairy Queen Concrete Mixer it was so incredibly thick. Still I took a bite and it sort of tasted like clam chowder, but really kind of tasted like nothing really. I looked at the side salad and saw pretty wilted lettuce, a lot of that lettuce core that's white, but this stuff had brown in it. It's almost as if, it was a side salad from earlier in the day and sat in the fridge for a long time. Fresh is most definitely NOT how I would describe my salad. Still I was starving, so I ate my soup and picked through the salad. When everyone was done eating and we were just sitting there, our waiter finally re-appeared after a very long absence and asked if I wanted more. I politely declined as it would have been rude to ask for more when all of us had finished for last 20 minutes. It was nice of him to actually ask if I wanted more though. No. It was not remotely busy being the only table in our area. Maybe the other side was packed? But it didn't sound like a packed restaurant. My companions did enjoy their meals, so I'll give them that. Overall it was an ok experience.

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast today and it was our first time at Rodeside Grill. We placed our order and had some coffee while we waited for our food. We waited a loooong time. It seems there was a printer error with our food order that didn't get noticed right away. I was impatient and was going to leave, but the server and owner apologized profusely for the mishap and assured us that our food was on its way to us. The food arrived, and boy am I glad we stayed! The food was absolutely fantastic, and the way the server, staff and owners took care of us was exemplary. The quality of the food, and their desire to make things right when something doesn't go as planned, has us planning on going back to check out their dinner menu. Thank you for a great breakfast. Went for the Sunday brunch buffet service on Easter. It was nice they had lots of cocktail shrimp and other staple brunch choices. Along with an omelet station. If you want a mimosa that is bigger than two sips ask for a strawberry one or a large one.

Stopped here on the way to The Dells for lunch. Has a lounge/bar vibe with a cabin interior feel. Large bar area in the middle. Food was actually pretty good. I had the chicken sandwich, husband had a club sandwich, and friend has a steak sandwich. The staff was friendly and helpful, food came out in good time and the food tasted house made. The menu is pretty extensive and include things like TexMex. I didn't expect much but totally is a nice surprise if you're in the area.

Got the fajita. The price was good for all you can eat. But. Too many veggies and not enough meet. I ordered chicken and added shrimp to it and it was 75% veggies and 25% meat if that. The service was great and fast. My server was Chris and was very nice.

Was ok. Had wings because we heard that their "the best". I disagree. Wings are one if those foods one should ask a few more questions about, not just a qualifier such as are the big. I personally don't like wings that have any extra coating on them, Roadside Grill wings seem to be breaded, and I'm just not a fan. Perhaps another day I'll try something else. I hear the Friday fish is great.
