Servers name was matthew, suggested a wine that i specifically said i didn’t like the taste of, brought back wrong change (didn’t say anything because it wasn’t much, but how hard is it?). He literally would not shut up. His loud laugh made my ears bleed. I suggest you find a better wait staff. He ruined the experience. What was funny is he thinks he knows everything, he’s a cocky young man and should really learn when to not run his mouth. Also, checked his phone two seconds before walking up to my table, go to the back, kid.

Emma Sitler

Food is ok, but there are better places to eat. Love the chip appetizer with bacon, and food is still pretty good. Usually slow though, which is why I didn’t give 4 stars

First time ever going to Bridge Road Bistro today, and I can 100% guarantee we will be back! Mark was our waiter today and he was beyond absolutely fantastic along with the rest of the staff. Our food was phenomenal, best calamari and desserts ever, also the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, without a doubt will recommend!

Nice decorations and very good service. the restaurant had many conference rooms, which worked great for my groups meeting. They also offered a broad wine selection. I had the black bean burger, which was good but I expected more for the price.

*Update Below LIKE A CHURCH EXPERIENCE! NYC, Nantucket/Martha's Vinyard, SoBe, Los Olas Blvd/Worth Ave... And now The Bridge Road Bistro in little Charleston, WV.. One visit & is now in my top ten eateries within my 52 yrs. Even GREAT live music, you feel like your sent back to the age of Art Deco 'Bistros' when the bottom line was great taste, great ambiance and great service. The best Shrimp Cocktail EVER! (large and clean) Had Wedge Salad, Thai Lettuce Wraps Flatbreads, Stuffed Banana Pepper.. Couldn't eat anymore, but we wanted to. The prices are akin to processed chain, so called restaurants, yet you receive the product and service you would find at The Savoy London Hotel or The Paris Ritz. Our attendant (Server) 'Jana' was the best and well put together, as in starched looking uniform and clean in appearance (Which seems can be a stretch to find these days). The owner Sandy was a gem and because I have owned a few restaurants, as well as my parents, you can tell her heart is in it, that she ENJOYS walking through the doors. I dare you to find a ball of dust in this place. I LOVE THIS PLACE.! *I read some of the past reviews, like Mr. Bryce Johnson.. As a foodie, an ex owner of a few restaurants and have lived in many places known for their cuisine, let me say that from what I personally experienced and from others photos posted, there was personally and it seems from the pics there was no 'frozen' items (And YES.. I can spot frozen food from photos, if you can't you should never be in the restaurant business) but even though we all are entitled to our experience, I would HAVE to assume, with an apology, that some of these unsatisfied guests had 'other' negative issues going on around them (or unfortunately had very little eyesight, if any and/or were born without taste buds. I don't expect everyone to be a super taster ((Yes, that is a medically scientific thing which I have)) But some of these reviews reaked of 'other' circumstances. I hope I have not crossed a line, however, like I said, I'm a Foodie and eating out is my drug of choice and where I happily choose to spend my money. My apology to the owner and staff of this place if it feels I have stepped on one's toes or perhaps it may seem I have an 'agenda', which I don't. I even expressed the few minor things I thought could be improved on with the owner, so I'm no 'Kiss A**'... I just found a few of these posts 'suspect' and I'm not sure that some people realize that one star or post can make or break someone's dream of owning and running ANY business, not just this type. Anyway, thats my two cents plus a Smith-Corona Typewriter, a winged back chair, a kitchen sink, a 1987 Hyundai Eclipse,....

The food and the service were both excellent, but I think the prices are a bit high. I have paid more for a meal but the price to quality ratio is slightly off. Not bad though, they are only over reaching by 5 or 6 dollars on most of the entrees my group saw.

I ate there recently with my wife, the food was just okay and we weren't very impressed. The Korean chicken appetizer was good but the French onion soup wasn't very good, it had a very peppery taste and that wasn't appealing. For the main course my wife had the crab cakes and I had the sea bass, I believe it was a daily special. Both were just okay. Nothing stood out from the meal coupled with the high price. I don't think we would return. Overall the atmosphere was nice and there was some music.

Menu contains selections to please everyone. Delicious fresh food served with a smile. The potato chips are to die for. Order as an appetizer to share. We were delighted on our first visit and will certainly go again.

Great place to meet friends, enjoy good food and cocktail's.

Rob O'Connor

Delicious food, and a really appealing atmosphere are the characteristics of this restaurant conveniently located in the South Hills neighborhood. I especially like the pork tenderloin, and the home made potato chips. And the rolls with butter are amazing!

Sue Colby

great place. quaint location but not too far off I 64. Made a good stopping off place from our drive with a bit of local scenery. they do charge a surcharge for credit card so bring cash. atm across the street.

Wounderful eatery! Owner very knowledgeable and service was delightful.

Too expensive for such a small selection.

Leslie Young

The waiter we had was extremely rude, he did not smile one time. We had taken out of town guest there, it was down right embarrassing! Food was cold. Took forever to get our drinks. They were out of Stella beer and blamed it on Mother’s Day. They served potato chips with a $37 rib eye. My friend asked for a baked potato and the unfriendly server replied with we don’t have baked potatoes. Instead of offering other options. They need to make some serious food and staff changes. Sad to see this establishment go down hill very disappointed!

Underwhelmed. The food was just okay. Way over hyped. I was expecting something special for the price. I could have had a comparable meal at Tidewater for half the price.

Wow! That’s what comes to mind when I think about our experience with Bridge Road Bistro today. My fiancé and I were in Charleston running some errands and wanted something sweet and an afternoon drink. After a quick google search we landed here. The s’mores creme brûlée was out of this world delicious. And the bourbon selection allowed my fiancé to expand his palette. Mark, who was behind the bar, made me two delicious drinks and did so just on some preferences I told him. We had wonderful conversation with him throughout our time there. Upon leaving we realized the battery was dead in our car. This is where the service goes above and beyond. My fiancé walked back inside and asked if anyone could possibly jump our car. Mark, without hesitation, ran out to his car, hooked up to us and gave us a jump. If that’s not five star service I don’t know what is. We will definitely be back!

J B

Server was excellent. Entrees took entirely too long given the amount of open seating available on a Friday night. Risotto was over salted, scallops not done, ribeye was nearly all fat. I'll say again, the waiter was excellent, but the back of house has problems. Most expensive worst meal ever.

oeleven Ed

Huge and tasty pork chop. Excellent grits. Service efficient and friendly.

Taylor Crammer

Food is pretty good, I recommend the Fried green tomato BLT and if you get chips or fries make sure you get them with blue cheese and chives

Jason Trador

Insanely good food

Uber expensive the bartender is a little pretentious

I just shared my review on Yelp but I need to share my great experience. I have to say that this place really blew me away. I'm visiting from NYC and wanted a nice but casual place for dinner with a pretty large group. It was a last-minute reservation but the hostess greeted us like old friends and instantly made us feel welcome. Our waitress was darling and attentive and steered us to some of her menu favorites. They did not disappoint! The cocktails were inspired, creative and expertly made. My entree of chicken and waffles was epic! It had some regional flair which made it so unique and delicious. I heard from a local that this restaurant had gone through some turnover, but I'm happy to say the current proprietors have figured out the magic. I highly recommend this gem. As a jaded New York foodie I have to recommend this so highly. My only regret is not ordering dessert.

Excellent, get the blue cheese chips. South Hill restaurants are always a tad pretentious, but not here! Well-run place.

The food was fantastic and service was excellent. Only disapointinng part was the ambiance of this establishment. From the menu and the name I was expecting a bistro atmosphere but instead it was a large dining area with large booths through out. Luckily that didn't take away from the meal.

melissa hope

I had high hopes for this 5 star restaurant, unfortunately i was massively disappointed. Our waiter could not keep his mouth shut! His name was either Matthew or Matt. I’m not sure which he told us, but i wish he would’ve just hushed! He rambled and acted like he knew everything about wine. YOU ARE A CHILD. I’m 57 years old, LET ME CHOOSE MY WINE WITHOUT YOU YAPPING IN MY EAR. I recommend going, but request to NOT have Matt/Matthew.

Michael Edwards

Good food and service

Bryce Johnson

Everything about this restaurant was incredibly misleading. My friends and I decided to go based on inaccurate prices listed online (ex: the dinner crab cakes were NOT the $16 listed online for dinner). We decided to stay anyways expecting the food to be worth the $30+ per entree. However the food then took about 45 min (the place was nearly empty), was certainly not enough to be called a meal, and did not taste great (or even good for that matter). Everything was smothered in salt, probably to cover for the food being frozen, not made from scratch. I cant usually tell when food is frozen beforehand, but it was that obvious from how soggy the cooked spinach was. Overall, this was easily the most disappointed this not picky eater has ever been when eating out.

D Beach

Good food. Good service. Great atmosphere!

Joined friends for dinner lastnight, starter dishes were really good. Steaks came out and the table agreed they were terrible. I was expecting so much more for such a price tag. Much better places to eat around Charleston for the money.

Jack Murphy

I arrived here with a few of my coworkers on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was mostly empty except for a few other patrons scattered throughout the restaurant. We were seated promptly and greeted by an eager, talkative, and very nice waiter. Four of us ordered a bottle of red wine, while one in my group ordered a glass of white wine. She was served red but sent it back. It was an honest mistake. When I ordered the bottle of red wine, the waiter commented that it was an excellent South American wine, much better than the William Hill from California. He seemed very knowledgeable. A few minutes later, he came back and stated that the restaurant was out of the South American wine and he suggested the William Hill which he had previously bad mouthed. It seemed paradoxical, but we accepted the William Hill. The William Hill was brought out to us. The waiter accidentally dropped William Hill on one of the wine glasses on the table. The wine glass shattered but the bottle was fine. He replaced the wine glass and cleaned up the glass promptly. He apologized profusely for another honest mistake. One of the wine glasses served had lipstick on it from a previous patron. I would have expected a restaurant with such an extensive and distinct wine list to have cleaned and scrutinized the wine glasses before serving them. One of my coworkers was vegan and she was the one who recommended we attend Bridge Road Bistro. The waiter made his vegan recommendation, a fried chickpea plate. Me and another co-worker ordered steak (I got the filet, he ordered the ribeye), while another ordered the pork chop and another the salmon. The vegan dish was well enjoyed. The salmon and pork chop were each said to be delicious. However, me and my coworker were disappointed in the steaks. We both ordered our steaks medium rare and the steaks were cooked to the ordered temperature. They lacked flavor and didn't seem to be of a quality grade meat worth paying $40. I've made better steaks at home and not paid nearly the price I paid at Bridge Road Bistro. Overall, my experience was okay. There were many honest mistakes that were had, but they combined to be something I would expect in a play. Further, the lack of flavor of the steak left much to be desired.

BRB never disappoints. The house made chips w/ blue cheese, scallions (bacon if you want) have just the right balance of crispy & chewy. The Asian salad w/ mixed greens, fried tofu, mandarin oranges, tomatoes is a palate pleasing taste for late summer. The crab cake which has more crab than filler, was perfectly, lightly seasoned & allowed the full flavor of the lump crab to come though. Try this restaurant if you are in the area. Good restaurant in an eclectic mountain setting.

The Bistro is the best all around fine dining experience in Charleston. It edges out Laury's and beats the Chop House out by a pretty wide margin.

Judith Talbott

Took out of town guests for a late lunch. Food was good, but took a very long time to get our food. This is not the first time for very long wait for food. Service was fine.

This is such a nice cozy place..like the atmosphere..great beer selection from around the state.

BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD TO EAT. BEST EMPLOYEE'S ON EARTH. WE LOVE IT. BEST FOOD IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

We celebrated my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary today in the Walnut Room at Bridge Road Bistro and I am walking away being as impressed as I could possibly be on all levels. I grew up in Charleston area but have lived in Columbus for 20 years...I've worked as a restaurant mgr for 14 years...so amazing food, ambiance and service is very important to me. Sandy the owner was so quick and responsive with questions and allowed a couple site visits. She was wonderful to work with during the event having everything that I could need including AV wiring for running photo movies on the TV's to a great set up for music to choose from...Loved the Golden Oldies channel. Staff was incredible with wonderful service and even helped me set up before hand...which was so thankful. The food was delicious, with every guest gushing over it. We chose to do about 7 heavy app's, drinks and they allowed to bring in our own cake. I will continue to tell everyone I know about Bridge Rd. Bistro and can't wait to visit the restaurant again.

Its good fine dining

Michelle Retort

Expensive, waiter was not personable and seemed irritated he had a party of 15+ people, food was good but rib portions were skimpy, they didnt have our reservations even though they were confirmed the evening prior, over all not worth the money due to service. Maybe use them for a catered event those seem more important than restaurant business.

Extremely slow to take our order. Long wait between the appetizer and the main course. If you are in a hurry you're out of luck.
