Made an early reservation during the 5-5:45 time slot but ended up doing the italian night 3-course special. The two of us shared our orders and everything was delicious! I have never liked fennel much in the past, but the pasta here changed my mind. My date said he had found "the essence of pizza" with their tomato, basil, and mozzarella flatbread. The servers were fun, friendly, and considerate, and the place was cozy and intimate. It was a great way to enter the evening & I would definitely go back on the next island trip!

Awesome. Be sure to get reservations

Have eaten here several times when we visit from Seattle. Anna Maria and her husband Dave do an amazing job, and have established this as THE fine dining restaurant on the island. Try it!

Amazing! I rate plenty of restaurants 5 stars but this one is at the top of the list. The fish was impeccable and packed with flavors. I'd highly recommend for anyone visiting San Juan Island.

Cozy and quiet restaurant located in downtown Friday Harbor. With only about 30 seats you'll have to have reservations well in advance, but it's worth it. The service was excellent, extensive wine list and the food was delicious. We were a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meal. The installation of sound absorption panels on the ceiling provided a quiet dining environment.

Definitely a small place and fits about 9 tables. We made a reservation just to make sure we'd get a table. The food was great and I wish I had gotten the seared tuna but I loved my lamb Bolognese too.

Delicious meal. The bruschetta was amazing. Tagliatelle was perfect. If they have the rhubarb crisp available, treat yourself. It's worth it. Allison's service was wonderful. She is a joy.

Had the set menu, and everything was delicious. Service was good with detailed descriptions of each dish. Only suggestion for owners is to turn down the volume of the background music.

great locally sourced food. good wine selection

You know what’s “okay”? A scallop that is over cooked. They’re easy to over cook. What’s not okay is meat that is not seasoned what so ever. And when there is no salt on the table, you expect the meat to be seasoned perfectly. I let the waitress know and she gave me a free dessert. That didn’t make up for the lack of flavor in the meat. The sauce, however, was very good. Overall I was not happy with the quality of food that I received.

Went here on our honeymoon eight years ago, and it was the best food we'd ever eaten. Just picked up a takeout order (not ideal, but we have two tots in tow now) and it was amazing. They've still got it, no surprise.

A must do on your list of things when you visit the island. The Chef is incredibly skilled. Very quaint and super helpful friendly staff!!

Wonderful, intimate dining environment just blocks away from Friday Harbor! My wife and I made reservations around midday while on vacation. We had the Chef's Tasting Menu with wine pairings. It was wonderful, each course was full of flavor and well portioned to satisfy, but not leave us overly full. The Trout Tartine was delicious. The Yellow Finn and Carrot latke was really tasty. The roasted Halibut was fantastic in a flavor-rich sauce. The wine pairings were spot on and wonderfully described and introduced by our server who took the time to talk about each of the wines, where they were from and how they would complement the meal. We did a whale watching tour earlier in the day and we were excited to find Coho on the list of restaurants committed to responsibly sourced seafood. They prioritize local ingredients in their menu, so their menu changes to reflect what is seasonally available. Definitely worth checking out if you are in Friday Harbor!

Fine dining in downtown Friday Harbor. The salmon was excellent, but I was disappointed in the suggested wine pairing. Still worth a visit.

I don't usually write reviews but this was exceptionally bad. I made a reservation around a month or two ago for just two people. I got a call a few days before the reservation and they said they didn't have that reservation time so they pushed it back an hour. Since I was on vacation I didn't really mind but I thought it was odd. We get there a few minutes before the reservation time and we are told to wait outside until the time of our reservation and he would get us. Our reservation time passes and no one still comes out. We ended up leaving because of this and went to Vinny's which was great and friendly.

The first impression of a restaurant is the smell. The special of the day was a fish stew, so I understand that, but this restaurant is in an old home and smells as such. Our table for 2 was too long for close conversation and the finishings (i.e. tablecloths) seemed to be circa 1990. Our waitress was in training, which wasn't explained, and the pressure of her being in training overshadowed our experience. Food was ok, salty. We had the beef tenderloin and chicken and preferred the lightness of the chicken. We arrived early in the night and were easily forgotten when the dinner rush started.

Aaron Rubenson

A wonderful find! The food was delicious and the staff were great. The prices were a bit steep vs. comparable dining in Seattle, but we were happy to support this restaurant as a terrific post-sailing hideout.

Excellent food cooked and served beautifully. We thought it was practically perfect in every way.

Had a wonderful meal with my wife while on Friday Harbor. She had the duck and I had the steak, and we were both impressed. The steak was the most tender piece of meat that I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my face. If you are in Friday Harbor you must eat here.

We had the early seating reduced price menu—delicious. Great service as well!

Laura Trilles

We dined here for dinner with reservations at 5:45 and had the first service pre-fix. The food was good. The service was not so much. I think we just had the wrong wait staff, as the other waitress knew her stuff, was friendly and personable, offered optional “upgrades” to the menu. But our waitress did not. She rushed us in, at first told us we were too late for the first seating and when I told her I requested it on the reservation she said ok. She didn’t tell us of any of the options to upgrade portions of the meal. We weren’t offered any wine- which seemed weird since this is a wine restaurant, and therefore we didn’t order any. The soup was nice, it was kale and bean and it had very fresh veggies in it. The salad was not a salad. It was exactly four pieces of lettuce- I call that a garnish. The lamb bolognese was good and there was a decent portion of it. The dessert was just a scoop of ice cream, though we overheard the other waitress saying for $2 more we could opt up for a full dessert. We didn’t because it wasn’t offered to us. My biggest disappointment was that this place is labeled a “seafood restaurant “. There were two items on the menu that were seafood- Spanish octopus as a starter and the market fish which was halibut. If you are a seafood restaurant have seafood available! Also all the advertising showed wonderful images of grilled salmon, which is what we were looking for, but there wasn’t any. I think the restaurant is misleading and expensive. There are better value for the money places to eat in Friday Harbor like Downriggers and Tops’l, both of which have plenty of seafood on there menus.

This restaurant was wonderful! In all the years I have lived on that island I hadn't gotten the chance to stop by. They were so kind and walked us through every area of the menu. The chef was even kind enough to let us sample a specific items that was supposed to be for their course only menu! I have no complaints whatsoever! I would go again in a heartbeat!

Robyn Laing

Very friendly, cute place with good food. A bit overpriced for what you get, but we still enjoyed it, though I probably wouldn't go back. I ordered the halibut and while it was truly cooked to perfection, it was not seasoned! The dish was just so flavorless. The shrimp nage did not taste very shrimpy either (needed some cream or something too, it was too watery). And yes, I know that fish has a delicate flavor, but don't be afraid to use a bit of seasoning! My husband got the salmon, and it was very good, so I'll bet if I ordered something else I would have enjoyed my meal a lot more. The appetizer was also wonderful (stuffed squid). Dessert was good, but nothing to post to FB about :P The service was also very good and friendly.

Ed Yuhara

Outstanding entrees and wine. The pasta with bolognese sauce was the best.

Coho? No go... even if you made your reservation two months ago. Our party of three was left hanging for dinner last night because our reservation was mysteriously "lost" by this restaurant. At 7pm, with no comparable options in town, we were told "there's nothing I can do." Words a patron never wants to hear. Mistakes happen, but it's how you redeem them that makes the difference. All they offered to do was call us for a much later seating once one of the large parties cleared out. After waiting 90 minutes to hear from them, we finally went to another restaurant in town. Good thing because they never called. We still have many questions: 1) What happened to our reservation? 2) Did they bump our reservation to make room for two large parties in this small restaurant space? 3) Why did the restaurant never call us as promised? 4) A staff member mentioned that this happens frequently. Why does it happen, and more importantly, why haven't they fixed the problem? While we can't review our dining experience, we can tell you that this restaurant lacks common courtesy for potential patrons. If reserving, be sure to get the name of the person taking your reservation.

Decent food but not worth the price! The portion size is WAY too small! The crème burlee was not done right! The halibut was a lil over cooked. I wouldn't waste your time here, sorry!

Todd Mill

Food was amazing, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The chefs are doing a fabulous job. 6 course testing menu was absolutely delicious and even the drinks featured local sourced ingredients like lavender and locally distilled gin. Highly recommend.

Eric Regalia

We had an amazing dinner here we did the chef's sample and it was great all the pairings were great

Patrick Chung

Food was great, although slightly pricey. Service was ok, but with only one waitress serving the small restaurant it was understandable. The place is small and cosy and great for small groups.

The food is okay but it doesn't really stand up for the price that you're paying for it you're paying a high-end price and getting mediocre to good food

We stayed in the apartment above the Coho Resturant. Cute and clean as well as being a perfect location in Friday Harbor to stay. Although we didn't try the food, the smell from the kitchen was amazing! We stayed ado busy on the Island we missed out...next time.

No problems with our reservation although we still had to wait for about 15 minutes past the reservation time to be seated. Great presentation, although the salmon was slightly overcooked. The creme brulee was a bit on the custard side, unfortunately not creamy underneath the sugar layer once I got about 1/2 inch into it. A bit on the pricey side....well over $100 for two people. It was okay but I'll probably try somewhere else given a "do-over".

Kim Osman

Cute old house made into restaurant. Very quaint, however, it is overstated and underwhelming. Halibut very dry. Server/hostess was nice.

thomas jedreski

Wow what a deal! If you get there from 5 to 545 you get a great meal and a bottle of wine for a reasonable price. Also portion size was great, loved it

Ryan Morgen

Lovely, quaint little intimate dining setting. The wines were delicious and the food is exquisitely prepared and cooked to perfection. Staff are very friendly.

Ceal Craig

Top notch meal, service. The price fixed meal on with entree upgrade possibilities added to the plusses. Quiet, warm (ambiance). Local ingredients

Ingrid U Little

This was by far the best food I have had on the island. The staff was absolutely fabulous, owner was amazing, dinner was spectacular, delicious. Cant wait to go back

Nathan Schmutz

We went early for the first service option and upgraded our entree’s to the Duck and the Halibut. This was one of the best meals we have ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing!! I would highly recommend stopping here whenever you are on the island.
