Our small office (10 people) had Red Hub cater our Christmas luncheon this year, and we are so very glad we did! For a very reasonable price (under $250), we had pulled pork, chicken tenders, cole slaw, mac & cheese, hushpuppies (OHMYGOSH--these are a MUST), deviled eggs, baked beans, dessert and beverages. The food was amazing, the staff courteous and prompt. We all had our favorite items and we look forward to trying them out again next year!

Best Carolina style BBQ in Charlottesville. I was actually at a fancy restaurant that had BBQ on the menu. When I asked the server her honest opinion of the entree, she said "Don't bother. The best Q in Charlottesville is at Red Hub." The owner has upgraded his equipment substantially in the last year, to the tune of $20K. He's serious. And these are serious Southern eats. My personal favorite are the wings. Not only the best in Cville. Maybe the best I've ever had. They fall off the bone in juicy goodness. Try some with a variety of Red Hub's sauces. You won't be disappointed.

Walked into Red Hub on a evening weekday and was met with friendly, professional service. I had the pulled pork platter with cole slaw and it was AMAZING. They had numerous homemade sauces and good beer options. I'll definitely be coming here again.

The barbecue has good flavor but it needs to be a little bit more moist my sandwich was a just a bit dry now you can always add your barbecue but sometimes I like to get the taste of the smoke flavor before I put any barbecue sauce on it the service needs to be a lot better they need to put a fountain drink out so customers can get drinks because it's people work in the back and it or get a bell so you can have customers let them know that you need to replenish their drinks

Disappointment, but with some redeeming quality. First time here and I order the Wednesday special to go “brisket burger”. First the lady tells me they don’t have burgers, it’s just brisket with a side. I ask about french fries, no french fries, I order the potato salad. She calls out my order as brisket with mac and cheese and I tell her I ordered potato salad, she went to the back and came back out with my bag. I get back to my desk and still have mac and cheese instead of potato salad. Plus, with what little meat they provided it was on a dry hamburger bun! (??) The whole meal was just “okay”, but definitely not worth $15+.

Walked by first while visiting C'Ville and thought the food looked and smelled amazing. Decided to stop on our way back for "a snack" and we were blown away. Pork was among the very best I've ever had, smoked wings fell off the bone and the perfect amount of seasoning, and even the hush puppies my wife ordered were amazing. Damn near perfect execution on everything. Highly, highly recommended.

We parked our moving truck and car and the 3 of us ordered and shared 2 platters! We shared, sitting at the bar. It was a fun memory for me and my sons! There were a couple day-of snafus, but ultimately they Red Hub made it right, and we felt like they really took care of us. Sahar and the team provided bar staff and food for our wedding and we highly recommend the Red Hub Food Co! We met with Sahar for a full tasting session, where she helped us to understand which options would work best for our event, and why. Sahar then recommended local equipment hire and liaised with them about what we needed, which was extremely helpful. The staff who worked at our event were friendly, professional and helpful and the food was amazing! They made tonnes of food, and kindly put the leftovers in containers for us, which we ate for a whole week afterwards!

My friend and I wound up at Red Hub while hunting for fried chicken. It was actually our back-up's back-up, but man am I glad we found it. I ordered the fried chicken platter, he got the bbq and chicken combo platter. The chicken was absolutely amazing-crispy skin on the outside, juicy on the inside and well-seasoned. The hushpuppies were also a hit. I would venture to say they're my personal favorite. I got to try some of the pulled pork sandwich and it was also yummy. Needless to say, with the portions we got, there was no need for dinner. Next time I'm in town I will have a hard time picking between something new or what I last had. Final note: staff was awesome, thanks so much!

We visited for lunch and wished we had not. My wife ordered the pulled pork, good but not great. I ordered the brisket, awful. A full pound and a half of fat on a bun. I tried five bites and the rest was not edible. I have had brisket at a few bbq restaurants, and this was not brisket. Luckily, there are a few bbq restaurants in Charlottesville to try so we will not be returning here.

Those looking for the perfect Charlottesville "hole in the wall" BBQ joint need look no further. Counter service with just a few tables inside and out means seating is limited, but dont let that scare you, as even grab-n-go is absolutely worth the trip. The pick two platters offer a huge amount of food for the money, and the BBQ and Grits are no small portion either. Every sauce is different, delicious in its own right, and you can even take home a bottle of your favorite. If you're visiting Charlottesville and looking for some good classic Barbecue with a twist, do not overlook Red Hub.

Anyone who dislikes this place is crazy! It is just like Mama used to make!!! I am so happy I found this gem randomly in my search for a lunch spot. Prices are more than fair and the amount of food you get is perfection. I didn't experience any excess fat or char. The sauces are more than delicious. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich with the bourbon glaze with the collard greens and mac n cheese. Seriously, I have lived in 3 states and worked in 7 restaurants. This food is worth the 45 minute drive from my house. I will return as often as I can.

Will definitely come back! Finished our plates even though the portions were enough for smaller individuals like ourselves to have leftovers. Had never heard of the place, only seen it when driving by. Decided to give it a try on a whim when the BBQ bug hit us. Walked into an empty (it was before normal dinner hours), clean and well-branded place and immediately greeted by a friendly guy who took our orders. He knew his stuff and explained what you get with platters. Very helpful. He turned out to be the manager. We had a very enjoyable conversation the entire time we were there. I left with the understanding that he cares greatly about service and his food, and his passion is undeniable. It's not everyday you come across someone so outwardly passionate about their profession; I instantly felt inspired to support this company and give them regular business. But the food! Came out in good time. I had a pulled pork platter that came with a bun and hush puppies and chose a side of baked beans. Clearly everything was made in-house (except the bun). The baked beans were excellent. I personally enjoyed them on a homemade chip with the mustard sauce drizzle. The pulled pork was slightly dry, which I personally do not mind because it was very flavorful and nicely textured to eat alone. The chips are good, but nothing to write home about. The hush puppies were simple but very well executed; could munch on those all day. The sauces are each great. The Red Hub and the Bourbon Heat are favs. I'd stock my fridge with these. My husband got the BBQ sundae which felt somewhat nostalgic of Belmont BBQ's slop bucket. Since they're no longer around, I'd love to see Red Hub recreate it to include a cheesy addition. He had nothing but good things to say about the sundae.

First and last visit today. Food was OK. The ribs and chicken we're flavored well. Sauces were good. Potato salad was flat and the house made chips were OLD and stale. Ribs had a good smoky flavor and the chicken did have a nice tender bite to it. They closed at 5, we got there about 3 so I'm not sure if that was a reason for the not so stellar feel after the recommendation we got to go there. Seems as though the cashier/food delivery person was more concerned with hiding behind the counter on his phone then asking if the meal was OK or if we wanted drink refills. Not busy at all and ALL of the tables were dirty. Really no good reason to return.

The prices are fine, the amount of food is enough, the service is very helpful and understanding, BUT the chips was tough and there was far too much pepper on it, Lexington sauce was based mostly on vinegar. Pulled pork was as expected. What was really tasty is mac'n cheese and green beans also.
