The entire meal was excellent. All three of us agreed that this was the best meal we've had in a while. The hot rolls we're a nice start. I had the rodeo burger, my wife had meat loaf and our son had chicken strips.

Considering the local hoopla about this place, the end product was , in a sense, disappointing. The food was rather bland and can only be summed up with the word," okay." This cafe left much to be desired and I left without a real incitive to go back. Despite that, the service was quick, and lively, with the menu options having a decent variety. All together, I can only say that this cafe is rather subpar and I would recommend a good 6 other Cafe's before this one. This cafe was not bad, it just wasn't great.

My husband and I went here with my parents when we were visiting for Labor Day weekend. While not the same atmosphere as Tavern on the Rail the dishes we had were good. The server who waited on us was friendly and attentive. Whoever mixed my drink was a little heavy handed as I had to water it down a bit to combat the flames I was breathing on the fumes.....lol. All in all a nice dinner out.

Our family stopped for lunch, we were seated quickly and the menu was full of options. I believe our waitress Savannah was new and may need more training, as she was very unfamiliar with the soups and menu. Food was very good and prices were reasonable.

If it was possible to give no stars that would be the rating. Food and service was terrible .Orders for food not only came out incorrect as far as toppings also well done was served raw inside and burgers were cold.The issues were not addressed we were told the returned food was removed from the bill but wasn't so while trying to straighten that out with an individual we were told was a manager we were accosted by a friend of one of the staff then another staff member made comments as we left.I have never been attacked for wanting to be served decent food or be treated like a customer I guess they think they can sling whatever on the table you pay and leave .Sad we met the owner and she had encouraged us to try it a while back but I'm pretty sure she has no idea the front end staff are running it like a dive hole in the wall.I wouldn't recomend it as a place to drink either considering the obvious lack of control of the environment the staff just chuckled as thier beligerant "friend" acousted us while trying to straighten out the bill..beyond disappointed

Had dinner here on Saturday evening with friends. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, wait time was minimal. Our food came out quickly and perfectly prepared. Our meals were tasty, fresh, and colorful. We enjoyed it immensely. We highly recommend the chocolate lava cake!

This place was awesome. We found it passing through, on the way home from Massanutten. There are a lot of menu items to choose from and great comfort food. The server was so nice. There is also a separate bar area which looked nice, however we were just there for lunch. Would be good for large or small groups. Highly recommend!

We live close by and I saw them on Google maps, they offer take out and I was in the mood for something different for lunch. Wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich with fries. They looked good and she enjoyed them, the fries were great. I orders a crab cake sandwich with asparagus. The crab cake was on the small side, but flavor was great. My largest gripe with the meal is the $2 up charge for asparagus, of which I was given 8 pieces. Also tried the peanut butter pie, if you go don't pass it by. The food we good, but honestly I don't think the price/value was there. We may try them again, maybe eat in next time and see how it goes, but my first impression was meh.

Betty was awesome! The shrimp was great and the dragons breath burger rocked the house!!! The chefs hot sauce was amazing! Definitely happy we ran across this place after a long hike in the Shenandoah! It was worth the trip!!!!

We were passing through on business and stopped here last night for dinner off a recommendation from our client who is a local. I’ll start by our waitress- Trina, she was absolutely one of the best I’ve had. Her attention to detail and willingness to serve her customers is something that many others could learn from. She said she had only been there 2 weeks- I hope someone in management reads this because after observing her with our table and her other guests; and observing other waiting staff with their tables- I HIGHLY suggest Trina be considered for a training position. Next I will say the atmosphere and menu selection is great. I can tell the restaurant is kept clean and updated. The menu has such a variety I had such a hard time deciding. I did end up going with the BBQ Chicken meal. I didn’t realize it came fried and was a little discouraged when my food arrived and it was fried- THIS WAS MY OWN FAULT. However, I ate it anyways and it was amazing. I don’t usually order fried chicken anywhere because it’s typically over breaded and over cooked. Not the case here- it was perfect. I had the Cole slaw and Caesar salad as my sides- very good as well. Good service. Good selection. Good prices. I wish we didn’t live 800 miles away or we would be regulars as well.

The sign commands the customer to wait, "even if you want a table by the bar," but nobody came to direct us to a table. We waited, and waited. Plenty of people were there, but not for us, ... so we left. Wow.

We frequently dine at Blue Ridge Cafe. Our recent dining experience was very nice. Since we had a larger party of 7, I had called ahead to reserve a table. I wanted to request seating in the back room just beyond the bathrooms (I think it is called the Blue Ridge Room). When we arrived, the staff had already set-up our table. The atmosphere in that room added to the experience. Our waitress, Trish, took very good care of us.

Update: Went back again last evening - Stephanie the hostess was amazing - she remembered us - it's been about a month since we've been there - she even ran a pen out to our car that we forgot! The food was excellent yet again! Chicken Rio, Rodeo Burgers and Chicken Strips - still our favorite restaurant! Yum!

I love this place. The host is great she takes good care of me and my two boys when we come in. They have kids i pads which is good for the kids to stay busy while waiting for food. I always order steak and the cook does an awesome job with the food. I'm a frequent customer and have never been disappointed with my food. Can't wait for the seafood menu this summer. Never again will they get a dollar of my money. You should see what $43 of food looks like from my take out order tonight. Who makes a child's grilled cheese with rye bread? All the baked potato topping were melted in the bottom of the box...the little that was there. Crab cake dry and over cooked. Should have went to Subway.

The service was great and the food was delicious. There are a lot of choices from appetizers to main dishes (I didn't order a dessert but they probably have a lot of choices there too). You can order seafood, steak, chicken, hamburgers, salads, soups, or sandwiches. Something for everyone!

We had to wait a long time for all food. When it came the prime rib that was supposed to be well done, was medium rare. My husband only ate the parts that were done. We told our server about it & he told the cook. Last night our experience was prob one of our worst at Blue Ridge.

The staff was very friendly. We ordered steaks, 1 prime rib and 1 New York strip. The prime rib was over cooked but still good. We also added a crab cake to one of the steaks for $5. It was more like a mini crab cake and didnt have much crab meat. Overall our experience was good and we will return.

Blue Ridge Cafe has a good variety of dishes to choose from, but be wary what you order when. We have found that food quality is based very heavily on who's in the kitchen. When Sean, the owner, is there and keeping a watchful eye on everything, the meals are top-notch! When he is not in, the food comes out cold, undercooked, overcooked, and sometimes not at all. We have had a lot of mixed experiences at Blue Ridge over the years. It's a good place to stop and grab a bite, just try to do it when Sean's around.

The service is generally bad but last night was the worst we have experienced. The food is the only reason we keep coming back. ToGo orders always have food missing and to call in an order is hilarious with the fumbling and being placed on hold several times to be answered by someone else and have to repeat your order again.

Today, I was disappointed in the lunches served to my husband and myself. We ordered the chopped sirloin steak. It was undercooked ground meat. I mentioned it to our waitress and, even though I was still eating my potatoes and gravy, she took my plate to show it to the manager and did not bring it back. The bill was reduced by 50% but our meals were a BIG disappointment!

Arrived there tonight with great expectation of having prime rib that was advertised on the local radio. I even called the night before to be sure the prime rib would be available on the menu. We were seated, after waiting because we were told there were no seats available at the moment, when half of the restaurant was empty. Once seated we chose the prime rib, only to be told they ran out of the prime rib an hour before. Asked to speak to the manager, who turned out to be the owner. Who was wearing ratty jeans and an old ratty shirt, very unprofessional. He became very belligerent and asked if we would like a complimentary drink. He was very rude and started cussing at us. Then he told us to leave and never come back. This was the first time we ever went to this establishment and I will not ever go back. Between the rudeness of the owner and the lack of the prime rib advertised, I will not ever go back and not recommend this place to anyone.

Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff. I had the Captain's Platter which consisted of fried shrimp (6), a generous portion of fish( not sure what kind and needed a little more seasoning, a nice sized crab cake( could have done with some lump crab meat and less filler), french fries and coleslaw. Overall the meal was good, no major complaints. Would I recommend this establishment to others, yes. Would I dine here again, of course. The price was very reasonable.

Great service by our server, Heather. Kitchen staff VERY lacking. My meat loaf was scorched, the sauce on my daughter's pasta was completely diluted by the poorly drained noodles, literally SWIMMING in water in the bowl. Some confusion about the menu descriptions. And overpriced for the quality of the food.

An establishment that has been open for “over two decades “has to • Heavily advertise on the local radio station. • Runs out of Prime rib by 5pm, dinner time. • Chef not dressed as on or in the kitchen running it. • The dining area almost empty due to lack of staffing. • The bar area was the suggested seating area. One should really look at the one and two star ratings of this place before making the trip. The radio station should also visit this place to really see what they are promoting.

Have been to Blue Ridge Cafe many times and half the time it is good the other half it is not. Yesterday I had onion rings dripping with oil. My husband had ribs with hardly any sauce and cold mashed potatoes. Not going back. They did take cost of onion rings off our bill and after I complained they sent out mashed potatoes that were hot.

We we're guests of a private function, so we didn't get a chance to see the full menu. The options offered were great. I would rate it 5 stars, but my steak was a little over cooked so I would knock it down on star. The staff was excellent and attentive to our needs.
