My wife and I stopped for dinner Friday evening. We live in Minneapolis and were in Brookings on a personal family matter, and didn't know where to go for dinner and drove down the street from our motel and found Craft. Service by Derik was great! The wine and the food were exceptional! We go out to eat in the Twin Cities often and this place would be one of our favorites if it was there, plus the prices are lower than we are used to. ☺. Thank you!!!

First off, they charge gratuity then ask if u want to leave a tip. Next, the waitress was NOT hospitable. Altho the food wasn't bad it was MEDIOCRE at BEST. I had the crab Benedict and the crab cake was no bigger than a silver dollar and full of filler. The kids sliders we're good but not great. Chislic was overcooked and sweet. However, the burgers we're good and large. Their fries were crispy and hot. Nevertheless, will not be going back.

Stopped by durring a business trip. Food was ok...but awesome sauce cocktails at the bar and they'll customize it to your liking. Definitely the best bartending in Brookings. Emily was my bartender this night.

Dark inside of the restaurant. Good attention from waitress who accommodated my colleque s need for vegan food. The vegan option in the menu was unfortunately not vegan but vegetarian as it had cheese. It was presented without cheese thanks to the intervention of the waitress . Good service. I had a vegetarian advocado sandwich with a side salad. The salad was the best part of my meal. The sandwich was too heavy and I did not enjoy it at all. Too greasy and too much filling of an unknown soft substance. The sandwich was toasted but I suspected on a meat grill. Not good for a vegetarian service.

Food was good, very nicely plated and looked great. Atmosphere was quiet even with people only feet away at the bar. Service was sub par at best for a seemingly upscale restaurant. Our server was probably at our table for a minute total the whole time we were there, and we had to ask for refills even with three obviously empty glasses on the edge of the table, feet from the bar and servers and management. Food prices were definitely on the high end for the overall quality. Not impressed overall because of the lack of quality service.

Went in and it was not very full. Seated right away but waited 5 minutes for menus...not sure how many they have but clearly not enough as all the booths next to us were empty. Waited another 15 minutes no one came to take our order. We left. I suggest they order some menus, and do a better job staffing. I could totally understand the wait if it had been busy but it was not.

Wonderful restaurant with very simple, pure Italian inspired fare...kids were more than restless but the staff waited on them and on us like the best of all champs!!! I would without hesitation or reservation recommend this place for even the most seasoned gourmand! Chislic was the best I have had locally and the Bruschetta was perfection! So much on the menu seemed appealing! Our most scrupulous and discerning eater, a 6 yr old who knows how a good meatball should taste, ordered THIRDS!!! Creme Brûlée was the best I have ever had...again it is a lot to say when you can reward a restaurant for its food and service when your party is a family of six with four unruly kiddos and you are at your wits very end!Gem in South Dakota! A return visit is definitely on the horizon!

Generally good, food tends to be hit or miss... Like tonight... We repeat go for weekly date night.... Dishes are obviously prepaired from "scratch" but tend to vary, by assumed cook, by degrees of success... Tonight with de-construction was "interesting".....

The food is good. I appreciate the unique menu with all the chain restaurants around. The price is also good. The only thing I would recommend to change is to have more attentive welcoming staff. We've been in several different times and each time it's been difficult to get drink refills and our food has taken a long time to finish.

Food was amazing! It took a bit of time (new business and take time for perfection) but it was completely worth the wait. You could tell the chef (owner) really puts his heart and soul into the food, no matter what you order it will be fabulous.

Went on a Friday evening after 8pm and just a few tables were taken. The decor and atmosphere are nice - dark wood, funky lighting. Our server was very friendly and efficient, but could not answer any questions about the food! And didn't seek help from other staff, so that was a bit awkward. Pasta was tasty, cooked al dente, but jambalaya had thick tomato sauce and raw veg - seemed to need longer cooking overall. Dessert (almond/coconut cake) was creative but overly sweet like eating a block of sugar. Prices are high for what you get, but might give it another try.

I thought it was great food!! I had the deconstructed chicken cord on blue. Great flavor and awesome portion size too!! Not very kid friendly though as far as better kids food selections go. Nice atmosphere, I would go back if I was ever through Brookings again for a meal.

When we got there we were seated right away, we ordered drinks and our waitress came back a while later to tell us they are out of bud light. Then we order our food which the waitress went to put our order in and she came back they were out of pork chops and wild rice as well ? This was a Saturday night at 6 pm and I thought to myself how are they out of everything? In the end the food was good and our waitress but they must of been short handed it took forever to get drinks we never got water and they were out of everything

Everything was good. We had everything from appetizer to dessert. My husband said his lamb burger was delicious & my raspberry chicken salad was good. We also enjoyed the cheesecake & got had all 4 drizzles on it. Very delicious!

Just visiting Brookings for the day and didn't want a chain restaurant. They have a nice mix of Italian and American fare. We both had pasta dishes that were fantastic. One was a Fettuccine with a mix of cheeses and cream sauce. The other was a cheese ravioli with Portobello mushrooms and grilled chicken in a marsala sauce.

My mom and I had an amazing Saturday lunch here! I ordered the dry aged steak - it was stellar! And the mashed potatoes!! #perfection My mom had the lunch portion of Spagetti and Meat Balls. She loved every bite and loved the portion of food. 10/10 will definitely be back again!

From the time we arrived to time to leave was over two hours. Service was very very slow, very long wait for our food and when it arrived was cold, mix up on soups and salads. Not a very good night

All-you-can-eat brunch buffet - $15, pretty decent price, but a bit limited for a vegetarian. I'd say if you are passing through Brookings and need a nice sit-down Sunday brunch with options (say, for instance, parents coming to town for a visit), this is a good bet that there's something for most people at your table. I'm not sure if this selection is a regular thing, but today's pans had scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, potato cubes (country potatoes?), bacon, ham, buttered corn, green beans, cinnamon bread pudding, pesto penne w/ roast veggies, grilled chicken strips, mixed fruit/melon, yogurt, and scones. Bottomless mimosas for an extra $10, but I didn't spring for that (wasn't planning on drinking). Overall seemed like basic food classed up a bit, but like I said, not much breakfast foods for a vegetarian. Eggs were a bit over-cooked, potatoes under-seasoned, strange bowls for yogurt (and no spoons unless requested); on the other hand, bread pudding was quite yummy (almost like raw cinnamon bun dough), as was the corn (a rather surprising addition to breakfast), and I was told that the benedict was decent too. I think it was a good deal after the inclusion of a coupon (half off the second person's brunch price). I think their normal menu has better flavors though.

This was my first visit and I enjoyed the food. We had the spin/artichoke dip with tortilla chips. It was a generous portion for two people. I also had the blackened chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich had a nice amount of heat without being too spicy. Want to try several other items so I will absolutely return.
