Salthouse catering is one of the only caterers in town that's fit for a foodie. Their menu selections and customization of special menus for weddings and events is simply the best. You can't beat all of the local, fresh incredients and creativity they put into their dishes. Their sales team is incredibly responsive to e-mails and phone calls and always give the best recommendations for you to get exactly what you have in mind!

The weekend of June 24th, my son Jordan married his fiancée Laura in Charleston. We used Salt House to cater a Welcome Party at the Confederate Home and College and the wedding at Legare Waring House. I can’t say enough about the food. Friday night guests ate fried chicken, mac and cheese, kale salad and a low country boil set up as food stations. Saturday night they feasted on a plated charcuterie, salad, fish and filet. We held both parties outdoors and so the staff had to deal with the threat of storms (and one brief shower did occur wedding night). We found everyone to be very skilled and helpful from the captain to the chefs to the wait staff. Our greatest joy in working with Salt House, however, centered around our interactions with Vincent, the catering manager. He arranged for two tasting (one for each event) and continuously communicated with us through emails. He responded to all of our requests and had amazing suggestions along the way. For your next big happening, please consider Salt House!!!

Hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Salt House Catering. The food was unbelievably flavorful and our guests could not get enough of it! Even our pickiest “food critics” were raving about it. Vince was extremely prompt in his responses and such a pleasure to work with. Vince and his team were beyond incredible from beginning to end. We had them cater our rehearsal dinner and wedding both of which were absolutely delicious. I'm a vegetarian, my husband is a hunter, some of my family is kosher and a few of our friends are gluten free, so needless to say, we had a ton of dietary restrictions among the group for both events! Salthouse provided us with tons of options to satisfy all preferences and even offered to customize the dishes we selected. Aside from Vince's AMAZING service (fast responses, detailed emails, super attentive), what really wowed us was something Salthouse did on our wedding day. They heard from some of the servers at our rehearsal dinner that we had a few vegans in the group (my sister in law and her parents), which I hadn't included in our already lengthy dietary restrictions list as they weren't vegan at the time we booked. After this discovery, they showed up to our wedding with additional ingredients to prepare a truly beautiful vegan plate for them. If you want delectable food, one of a kind flavors and a memorable experience, go with Salthouse! I just hope I have another event in the future that gives me the opportunity to work with them again!

Our guests have still mentioned how great the food was including how amazing the purple Potatos were. Vince and his staff were on top of it all. We planned our wedding day from Denver Colorado, so we new we needed someone with great communication skills. Not only was Vince highly communicative but he made great suggestions and guided us along the way. We decided not to mess around with any other catering company due to their poor responsiveness and went all in trusting Salthouse would do an amazing job. Vince coordinated everything we needed (tables, chairs, bar, etc) to have a stunning night. Our wedding menu was exactly what we wanted (family style Mediterranean) Salthouse was even open to recipe suggestions. The food was absolutely spot on and delicious! They packed us up left overs and we ate extremely well for the next couple of days. We are so appreciative of the work Vince and the Salthouse team put in to make our wedding day so special. Salthouse elevated our wedding as a "Welcome to Charleston" culinary experience for our whole family!!! We were married at the end of October at Old Wide Awake Plantation. Vince and the whole crew were detailed and responsive from the tasting through the wedding! We focused a lot of our budget on catering and Salthouse delivered. We selected the farm table Southern antipasto for our cocktail hour (which Vince helped customize with cheese selections we wanted to include). It was beautiful and delicious. We then had three dinner stations: BBQ sliders, Build-your-own-Mac 'N Cheese, and Shrimp and Grits. Honestly, it was all incredible; we heard excellent feedback from guests on every station. Thankfully, Salthouse made sure we were not one of those couples who didn't get to try their wedding food! The staff made us an appetizer plate to enjoy before greeting guests, and then full plates for us to enjoy at dinner. All in all, I can't recommend Salthouse enough!!! Hire them for your wedding and rest easy: it WILL be incredible! PS The full budget bar pricing is also a very reasonable option to consider with your catering. So easy!

My husband and I did tastings at a couple of other places and not only did we think the food was far superior, the attention to detail from the Salthouse team, was amazing! We used Salthouse for our rehearsal dinner, and everything was perfect! Vince was so easy to work with and incredibly responsive to any emails that we had. We tweaked the menu several times so that it was just right, and he didn’t mind working with us throughout the process. His recommendations were spot on, and he has a wealth of knowledge that helped us plan the perfect menu. Salthouse had a short window of time to setup the event due to regulations of the venue, and they pulled it off flawlessly! Our guests raved about the food taste and preparation. Their food tastes as amazing as it looks. Their servers were so friendly, and they didn’t miss a beat when serving our guests. With multiple caterers to choose from in Charleston, I would highly recommend and choose to use Salthouse again and again!

Amazing Experience!! Working with Salthouse Catering and Vince and his team was absolutely incredible! Going into the wedding planning experience, I assumed that providing food to our guests would be a check the box. However, Salthouse not only provided incredible food for our 155 guests but added so much to our guest experience with their amazing displays of food, wonderful staff and even packing up all the extra for my husband and I to take at the end of the night, as we barely had any time to eat during the reception. Vince and his team came up with a diverse menu that appealed to all ages and tastes and showcased the best of the lowcountry. Moreover, Vince was great about helping us schedule our tasting, as my husband and I live out of time and needed some flexibility due to work schedules. The tasting included full size samples from every part of our menu and the team worked with us to pick out everything from sauces to serving dishes that we preferred. Finally, nothing says more about Vince than our guest reviews, with many people telling us how delicious the food was!! We had people reach out months after the wedding to tell us it is the best wedding food they have ever had/ how they have never had grits cooked that well/ how much they loved the steak and the glaze for the fried chicken/ and if there was a way they could get the oysters and fish we had at the wedding delivered to them :)
