REVIEWS OF Larkin's IN South Carolina

We had out of town guests and wanted to dine Al fresco downtown. We tried to eat at Passerelle, but there was a 25 minute wait for lunch on a Monday, so we went over to Larkin's and were seated immediately. We were treated like royalty, and the food is better than Passerelle. It can be pricey, but the lunch menu is reasonably priced. We enjoyed watching all the families walking along the river on a gorgeous Spring Break day. We lingered a long time and never felt rushed. Much more relaxing than chaos at Passerelle. We'll definitely be going back.

The grouper was very good. Ask for Joey G. He made the dining experience fun. If you go for brunch get the cinnamon roll! Scrumptious way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

This our special occasion restaurant!

5-Star dining experience! Visiting downtown Greensville, we stopped in this amazing restaurant with our young children (5 O’clock, which I consider the “family dining hour”)and perhaps a little underdressed (but craving a foodie experience). We were all welcomed with open arms. I started with the oldest mixed drink - Sazerac (google it), which was expertly prepared. The crab/shrimp dip appetizer is perhaps the best ever with plenty of crab/shrimp in the recipe. The aged ribeye immediately caught my eye and with a full selection of “add ons” the shrimp scampi over the ribeye was a perfect presentation. (Sorry, I dug in and missed the photo op for this review). While the restaurant offered chicken tenders/fries (no kids menu) for the young ones, but they were again - very welcoming to an early family dinner, but we opted for them to split the chicken dinner. The kids loved the perfectly cooked chicken, mashed potatoes, and veggies. The kids shared vanilla ice cream for dessert, which was a huge hit. (Yes, I bribed them with dessert all through dinner). As the regular/business (dressed up) crowd came in after 6pm, it was our time to depart. As we left, hearty good byes and smiles from the staff. Definitely on our repeat list for our next visit - perhaps with a babysitter helping us enjoy the fancier environment more leisurely next time. Thanks again to the amazing staff for a memorable, elegant, and perfect dinner. The walk back to the hotel through an amazing river walk greenway ended the evening on a high note.

A must place visit to have a good steak. Prices are reasonable for the view and location. I have nothing more to say except the desert was exquisite but big. It needs to be shared. Also the mint chocolate at three front tastes great.

Jonathan Hayes

Always a good steak and sides are great.

Ron Sportel

Excellent restaurant with top stakes. Very nice staff and service!

First and foremost, the service was impeccable... Harrison is a great waiter. We were celebrating a friend getting married next month and offered creme brûlée on the house in addition to a glass of champagne for the occasion, which we were all delighted about. One woman in our group ordered the pork chop only to find out they had sold their last one moments earlier, so that was disappointing. The filet mignon I ordered was cooked to perfection, although the flavor was not as bold as I wanted it to be. I’m not one to add anything to steak, but found myself looking for the salt and pepper. My friend had the sea bass and she mentioned that it tasted a bit too fishy for her liking; another friend at dinner agreed after trying some but I found that it was rather delicious. The truffle fries are an absolute must!!! The grilled asparagus, deviled eggs, beef skewers, and oysters I would all highly recommend. We ordered a few more desserts including the panna cotta which was surprisingly the favorite of the evening. Larkin’s is a beautiful restaurant with a soothing environment. My entree did not blow me away as I anticipated but the service was the best I’ve ever experienced in addition to the drink selection, the delicious desserts, and the overall environment. Just for that, I’ll be back to try something else!

Gourmet food, variety of menu including seafood, beef and chicken. Also, brunch menu on weekends or special events. They have inside and outside service with the view of Greenville river. Great for especial occasions!,

Alexander Rodriguez

When you get there ask for Joey. He will make your experience unique. See you soon Joey

Steven Gitis

Thanks so much for making our anniversary special. We really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and Sarai did a great job of providing us with really good service.

Creighton Magoun

The service was excellent. The food was hit or miss. The prices were ridiculous given the quality of the food. I really enjoyed the truffle fries and tres leches cake. The French onion soup is also one of the best I've had. The tableside Caesar salad was neither made tableside nor much like a Caesar at all. The steak (bone-in NY strip) was all char and no flavor. I would not recommend Larkin's.

Jackie Kellett

Great atmosphere for downtown dining! Food is excellent and service was outstanding! I had the grilled pork chop with fried brussel sprouts and collard greens. Wow! Pork chop was one of the best I've had and the portions more than I could eat! My Lemondroptini was the perfect accompaniment to my meal. For dessert I highly recommend the key lime pie! The crust was made with graham crackers and coconut and the flavor of the pie was perfect. There are a lot of gluten free dishes on the menu which was really nice! I highly recommend Larkin's!

Lynne Davis

I was looking forward to Larkin’s for a wonderful evening with friends. Boy was I disappointed. My steak was over cooked and cold. My sides were tasteless and cold. Our server was nonexistent at times and even other staff members couldn’t locate her. All in all a bad experience. I’ve had better steak dinners for so much less. Not sure I will give them a second chance.

Gomer Pyle

Amazing food and atmosphere at Larkins. The bacon wrapped scallops are an excellent appetizer. The she-crab soup is some of the best I have had. I doubt anything on the menu will disappoint.

Elisabeth Youhanic

Wonderful service and good food, highly recommend. Just a bit of a pain to get to...

Craig Bergeson

Great lunch, omelets, soups and service.

Mark Brunson

Blake gave our party great service. The filet was perfect! Congratulations.

Ludovico Camarda

amazing place. Finest steaks and seafood in greenville

Alex G

You're gonna spend a pretty penny. But the wine, the food, the service, its the definition of perfect. You wont regret it.

Nicolas

Romantic setting and delicious surf 'n' turf.

Jacob N

Wow. What a beautiful view from outside! The food menu is moderate size, but very well priced with great diversity. Maureen was my waitress, she was very knowledgable, polite, and courteous. I had the chef's omelette, which came with a side veggie salad and a side fruit salad. Perfect size, great price, and a HUGE wine selection. Also- probably the best bloody Mary I've had in a few months. Will be back!

Steve Mathison

First time here and what a treat. Will be going back

I had pretty high expectations for Larkin's based off of reviews and pricing. Some of these expectations were met, or even exceeded, while others were not. The menu was pretty standard for a steakhouse, my wife and I both opted for the 3 course meal. Their wine list appeared to be pretty impressive (not really a wine guy), and the bourbon selection was better than others in Greenville, though their prices reflected it. The food - As stated above, I ordered the 3 course meal, crab soup, a 7 oz. filet, and cheesecake. Included sides were asparagus and mashed potatoes. My expectations were even higher for the main course after receiving the soup - it was phenomenal! My wife spoke very highly of her salad as well. My wife really enjoyed her wine, and I enjoyed my drink (though to be fair you can't mess up a neat pour of Pappy). The entrees were... okay, but not worth the price. The dessert was pretty good as well, it was a fairly standard cheesecake with a berry topping. It was good, but pretty comparable to restaurants a quarter of the price. All in all I'd give the food 3/5. The service started exceptionally - my wife read the number of the wine she wanted and our waitress immediately knew which wine that was. Their bourbon menu simply read "Pappy Van Winkle - MKT", our waitress knew all the prices right off the top of her head (they had 3 different Pappy's. Well, technically 2 Pappy's and one 'Van Winkle', but I'm not here to split hairs). Our drinks and starters came out fairly quickly. Our entrees came out at a perfect time, right as we were finishing our appetizers. Unfortunately, this is where the good service ended. My wife had finished her first glass of wine purposely before our waitress delivered the entrees so that she could order another. One would think a glass of wine would be fairly quick as it requires nothing more than pouring the glass - we both finished our meals without our waitress checking on us the entire time, after we were finished another waitress came over and took our plates, I mentioned the wine to her and she brought it out immediately (45 minutes after the original request). The same waitress brought us our dessert menus and our dessert before our waitress checked on us again. It was at that point I noticed she had a much larger table behind us. Either she was given too many tables, or was giving extra attention to the larger table who will inevitably give her a larger tip. Either way, it was very disappointing that my wife was unable to enjoy the pairing of wine and steak. Service here gets a 2/5. Would I recommend Larkin's? Sure, it's worth the experience at least once. Would I recommend it as a regular outing? Probably not. The views were great overlooking the Reedy River, their menu was impressive, but the price wasn't quite worth it. I would probably go back for a drink at the bar, but this is more of a special occasion dinner, and with the vast options in Greenville it has to be a very special occasion to justify the cost.

John Miller

Very nice staff. Food was good. My only small critique is that I found my steak a little bland. Issue quickly resolved with a hint of salt and pepper.

Bri Sizemore

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Larkins on the River! Michael was our server and he was phenomenal. Very attentive, personable and professional and knew lots of details about the menu. He gave us above excellent service and we were very pleased with everything! The food tasted delicious and is some of the best steak we have ever had!

Phillip Hagood

Great atmosphere. Great for any function.

Austin Phillips

Great food and service.

Angie M

Shrimp n grits are superb. The service was great, even though they lost our reservation, it was corrected fast and most of our party had no idea. It can get a bit loud inside, the acoustics just seem to resonate.

Marshall Styles

Great view of the Reedy River coupled with fine steaks.

Jennifer Smith

Exceptional menu! My husband and I have eaten several times at Larkin's and have never been disappointed! Return here tonight for my husband's birthday.

Larry elkin

Great location and decent atmosphere. Our service wasn't awful but it was slow. The waitress was given 5 new tables within minutes so she was scrambling to keep up. The management and hostess should have coordinated this better. The food was OK. For the prices I expected amazing. My lobster tail was overcooked and rubbery. The steak was the correct temp but had no flavor - the chef should consider using a rub or even just some salt and pepper. The potatoes were void of any flavor. The desserts looked like they were purchased as Costco. I'd say it's not worth the money.

Dennis Belov

Holy smokes this place is good! The she crab soup was super rich, French onion was pretty filling too (overall they were both ok). The main courses were AMAZING! I don't eat steak but the one small piece I traded for was breathtaking. Crispy skin all over, melt in your mouth meat found inside

Grant Ramsay

Food was great, as expected. Steak was tasty and cooked very well. Sides were good, but not spectacular. Service was attentive, but not as knowledgeable as I might expect. Overall an enjoyable meal, will go back.

Rocket Man

Gourmet style. Variety. Nice views. Downtown.

Marcus D

My husband and I decided to try Larkin’s tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was very good but the service was not. Our waiter was not attentive to our needs. I asked for ketchup to go along with my Truffle Parmesan fries (they were delicious) but the waiter didn’t bring any until the fries were all gone. I also had to ask that my water be refilled while my husband asked the server that brought our food out for more bread. I found myself wishing several times that the waitress of the table next to us had been ours. She was spot on and very attentive to the needs of her table. Kudos to her! Maybe she can train our waiter? Overall the food was very good but lack of customer service can really turn you off to eating at an establishment. The waiter did get a little better before we left but by then our minds had been set on not returning. -Latasha

Paula Endicott

Dined here for our anniversary and it was wonderful! Not only was the food great but the service was impeccable! Ordered my steak medium and when it came out, it was more medium-well. I am not one to complain, and it was definitely edible and still very good, so I wasn’t going to say anything. The waitress noticed that it wasn’t what I asked for and made mention a couple of times to make sure I was okay with it and then even mentioned it to the manager on staff. He came out and asked if it was okay and if I would like another steak. When I declined, they brought me a free dessert. That’s what I call impeccable service!!

Monica Rogers

Great restaurant and service! The lamb just melted in my mouth!

Liz 410

They have the best steak sandwich I've had in a long time. I think it's called the Larkin's steak sandwich. It has fresh cooked steak with brie on a brioche bun. The service is good, and the atmosphere is nice.

Matthew Grall

Excellent aged beef nice restaurant little pricey but very nice

Marla Lang

The she crab soup was absolutely delicious!!

Brandon Rogers

Was there for a company party. My first time eating there. The food was excellent. I'll definitely go again

Milton Shockley

Larkin's had outstanding specials on Restaurant Week and because they had join the Amphitheatre on the river they are an outstanding choice. Their food is great and their position for the concert on Wednesday or Thursday nights is excellent. I highly recommended

Ksenia Dowty

Our server was fantastic. Very attentive, competent and polite. Atmosphere is nice. However, there were flies in the dining room. which ruined the experience immediately. There should never be a fly in a fancy place like this one. Manue had great choices. the food was presented very nicely. My shrimp and grits had huge shrimp in it, very well prepared, very flavorful, however the dish was dry. It needed less grits and more sauce. they melted cheese on top my shrimp and grits for some reason, it made it worse. The flavor was wonderful, but I would not recommend it unless you specifically ask for more sauce. I felt like 30 dollars too steep for that entree. my friend ordered steak. it was amazing, cooked perfectly, nicely presented. Fresh baked bread was also a nice touch.

Melissa Taggrt

I would give this place a 0 rating if I could. It is overrated by far. The food sucks for the price, poor customer service, and management is a huge disappointment! We had reservations for 20 at 6pm. 1 party of our group arrived on time & was seated. The others arrived before 7 at various times. We ordered around 7:15..2 parties never received food and management blamed it on us..the mgr (Scott) was beyond rude! Some food came out burnt others came out incorrect. It was just as mess. That was the first & last time I visit that place. Me & my friends work at various well known companies & we all agree that we will spread the word!!!

Keith King

Best Steak I've Ever Had. Dry Aged 16oz Ribeye. Server Was Super Attentive Without Being Overbearing. Love This Place

Matt Smith

Amazing food and atmosphere!

Alan Hale

Great place with a great staff in a great location. The food is awesome, they have plenty of boose to choose from and outdoor seating. The staff is just wonderful and an absolute pleasure to spend any time with. The location is down right cool, you walk down stairs or take the elevator around the other side and you end up next to river in this wonderful pedestrian area. The restaurant is located directly across from the TD stage where you can listen to live music and there a waterfall. I will be back no doubt about it!

Kenneth Sternberg

Food was good. Ambience was nice. The valet disappeared with our car keys while we were at supper and we had to hunt for our vehicle.

Rocky Sasser

Lovely meal, lovely ambiance. Not so lovely prices. Lovely gift card.

jane leonard

Great food. Service started out badly and when brought to Management's attention our first round of drinks were on the house. Classy business and definitely customer oriented. Highly recommended.

Cheryl Spires

Ordered a seasonal salad and added filet. Food was very good. Service was very slow and somewhat inattentive. Some in group had some tough meat, but mine was very tender and cooked perfectly.

Christopher Sizer

Great Food! Great Service! Will definitely go back!

Tracey MacDonald

Great Burger at lunch with outside table.

Pat OBoyle

Great food and atmosphere. We sat on the patio and it was perfect.

Jon Balter

Sorry guys the steak was not the bomb. I asked for medium rare and got medium almost over done. It was a little to dry too. Sorry. I really enjoyed the drinks and other food.

An extensive wine list, the filet I got was cooked to perfection. The desserts everyone else got looked so good I almost broke down and had some LOL. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and really helped with or selections, especially for us that had never been there.

Gigi Farrow

Entertained friends from Lexington, SC touring downtown, Falls Park, and finished with dinner at Larkin's on the River. Accommodations were perfect, food and wine superb. Brian made our experience special. Overall a super day in Greenville with family and friends. Thank you

Niall Mulrine

Food was great. Service good It got a little cold and I asked to turn on the heat. The shutters came down later which made it comfortable

Cami Rene

I had the BEST dining experience here. The service was absolutely wonderful. The food was cooked to perfection, and the drinks were wonderfully made. Thank you Anna (our server) for taking such great care of us! I will definitely be back.

Josh Devore

Service was good. Crab dip was great. Lamb and coupled trimmings were pretty bad. The price is not justified for the quality. Howeve, I cannot speak for the steaks and I regret not trying them instead. I've been to quite a few fine dining redturaunts and have to say that overall this ranked the lowest for the price range, albeit the majority of my experience is in larger cities. Perhaps if I return and try a steak my opinion would change, however, due to the quality of the sides and lamb entree, I think the chances are slim.

Charlene Sanders

Amazing food, excellent and attentive service from Ashley, and superb atmosphere. I had the salmon and my dining partner had the Delmonico. Could not have been better.

Marc Beaulieu

David Whitinger

Great place along the river - beautiful setting

Frank Robert Salatino

Excellent food, very reasonable prices, outstanding service. Our waitress Serenity was extremely attentive and helpful. Will definitely go back again.

Philip Blaylock

She crab soup was fantastic but the filet was just so so. I would eat here again but would go with a fish instead of steak. Service was decent.

Dwayne Tharpe

The food was good, great location in Greenville. The $$ on Google is misleading, this is an expensive restaurant, closer to $$$$.

Rachel Bednarski

Everything was fabulous. Amanda took very good care of us.

Rhett Brown

As always, fabulous staff & the new chef has made amazing changes to a menu that was already exceptional! Wine selection is out of this world!

Brian White

Great location and atmosphere.

We were in town for our 36th wedding anniversary and chose Larkin's for our special dinner. We were welcomed with a card and complimentary glasses of champagne. Our server, Maureen, was exceptional! She did a fabulous job of making us Caesar salads table side. She knew just when to check on us to make sure we were pleased with every course. We were able to enjoy a few glasses of wine because of Larkin's choices in pour sizes! Our lamb chops were seasoned and cooked to perfection. So scrumptious! At the end of the meal we were surprised with complimentary cheesecake with Happy Anniversary piped in chocolate around the edge of the plate. Cheesecake is not my husband's favorite; however, he ate more than me! Such a wonderful experience celebrating at Larkin's! An anniversary meal we will talk about for years as Larkin's truly went out of their way to make our day so special!

Shacona Clarke

Came out to celebrate my husband 40th birthday...The food was awesome and the service was even better. Thank you Kevin for a great experience.....

suzanne cartwright

Man, I was excited to go here! Couldn’t wait to have a great steak place night out which we hadn’t done in a long long time ! I don’t post reviews, this will Actually Be my first ever, I had to sign in and Create this review! I decided to post tonight as I was definitely so very disappointed when I didn’t want to be. At this level, i felt it should have been better, a lot better! Steak was good not great, had to add salt for taste. . Service was lacking, nice server but she forgot to bring my soup on a three course 99$ meal. ( Firefly in Panama City Beach has the best she crab soup ever ) So, I will never know about This one. The steak was cooked great I must say , absolutely perfect medium, but I thought it could have had so much more flavor but a gorgeous cut of meat I cannot Lie! The mashed potatoes were Luke warm that came with it and the 4 stalks of asparagus were just simply ok . I don’t eat dessert except creme brûlée ( which would be the only dessert I ever fight my man over ! ) but I decided to have a glass of port instead ! so I decided to give the dessert that goes with my $99 meal to my husband ..... The manager did finally come over and offer to buy us an extra dessert for the lack of soup, which I told him no thank you, but I was going to have a glass of port for my dessert and he offered to buy that for us on the house for the lack of soup issue ( which came With my 99$ meal, So I had actually paid for it right?) I said thank you but didn’t specify the port I wanted . Mistake . My husband ordered the crepe brûlé for my third course of my meal and paid for another glass of wine to go with this creme brûlée, Well I thought ok well all Will end well! Ahhhh a nice glass of port ! Once again, Not so much ! The creme brûlée came out cool and It wasn’t even torched to order

Bob Glick

First rate in every way. Worth the money.

Laura Scott

We had an amazing time. Neena is an excellent server! All of her recommendations were spot on....from the drink suggestions to menu options. Food was delicious. Wine was fantastic. Atmosphere was wonderful. We will definitely be back.

mofomuzic

Service was sluggish, the environment was uncomfortably warm, and the time for delivery of our appetizers and dinner was extremely slow. I paid almost $200 for a dinner for two that was not better than other Steak houses and I have enjoyed better evenings at Saltgrass. As a visitor in Greenville I was highly disappointed in the overall experience and would advise anyone else to spend less elsewhere and I'm sure you'll walkout with more. Tony

Greg DeCicco

Had great lunch, fine dinning.

Philip Houchens

Gr8 service w/quality food.

William Apelian

Always great. She crab soup, salads, and especially the steaks!

Dean F

The best part was the seating and the runner. This was an unfortunate experience. My everything, went all out to make this a great dinner. I will cherish her thought, yet this establishment failed. I'm an average run of the mill guy and understand every night, may not be one's best. With that said, This establishment failed miserably! One star for the seating and one star for the runner. Sorry, yet not sorry for the rest of establishment. Based on the freshness of the food, (cold , stale and not what was stated/ordered) waiter, The head. It was nothing less than an embarrassment for this establishment. It's a good thing I cherish her for all she can be and is! Good luck in your future, for it it will be no part of mine.

Rusty Potter

Great food good service, very pricey but haven't eaten anywhere in Greenville with as good a mix of flavor and texture balance in all the dishes

Matthew Buss

I have eaten at Larkin's numerous times and always loved the food/atmosphere. My wife and I took my in-laws there this past weekend and had a completely different experience. There were numerous issues and not one was addressed or corrected by the waitress: 1. it took us 45 min to get our food - which was overcooked and bland. 2. we ordered spinach dip with the main course as the waitress recommended it with our tenderloin. It was not brought out until everyone was finished eating - the waitress only said sometimes this happens, made us pay for it, and had it packaged to go... 3. we ordered dessert after dinner - creme brulee and cheesecake. after waiting 30 minutes we had to ask for that to be packaged to go, as well as we were meeting my brother in-law for drinks. Of course, still made us pay for that too. Larkin's has always been one of my favorite restaurants in downtown GVL - not so much anymore. Very disappointing to have your in-laws come into town, try to take them to a nice restaurant, and walk away with this experience.

T G

Very nice restaurant in fantastic location. Service was excellent. Nice bar area. The she crab soup is a must try item. You cannot go wrong with any of the steak and lobster dishes. The hot crab and shrimp with fried pita chips are amazing! The Wine and and beer list are extensive. The only thing, however minor, that could be improved upon is the garlic mashed potatoes and overall potato dishes are needing a little something. The French press coffee is excellent as well.

Henk de Swardt

Excellent steak! Wide veriaty on the menu and excellent service. The view of the river in downtown Greenville is beautiful. Priced a bit on the expensive side, with steaks upwards of $45. I'll certainly visit them again to try other menu items.

Brooke Hayslette

The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff was knowledgeable and very friendly and the food was beyond amazing!!! The food couldve been twice as much and it still wouldve been WELL worth it!! You also get free valet service with reservations (respectively with a tip). It was truly an amazing experience! Highly recommended!

Rebekah Goggans

Larkin's is a special place for me. We went here on our honeymoon and have celebrated anniversaries here. But the last couple times we've gone I have been disappointed with the food. The staff is great. Usually very friendly and attentive. The truffle fries are wonderful!! I really enjoy the atmosphere. It's dim and calm, even though everything is bustling right outside. I don't mind spending top dollar for some amazing food, but their prices do not match the quality of the food. The mashed potatoes and mac & cheese were really lacking in flavor. I enjoyed the beef tenderloin, my husband got an aged steak and was underwhelmed and a bit disappointed. We usually get a complementary dessert or glass of champagne, depending on what we're celebrating. That is very much appreciated and enjoyed! However this time, our champagne was less than half a flute. It was complementary, so I can't complain. But in the past it has been a full flute, so that was disappointing. Bottom line: the quality doesn't match the price tag.

roger scott

My wife and I were there for our 23rd anniversary and the hostess sat us right away everyone was super nice and acknowledged our occasion. The filet mignon was the best!

Philip Rivera

Beautiful place for pictures. Man-made waterfall offers a great backdrop for every sort of picture

Nicholas Beers

The food was excellent! I am a big fan of steak and they did it better than could be desired! I want to apologize to Sarai for all of our requests. But, she was really excellent to us and we did not deserve her service or the amazing food. Plan on coming again next time we are in the area.

Rich Rehbock

One of the worst dining experiences in recent memory. Walked in wearing a sweatsuit and ball cap after traveling all day. Place was recommended to me so, instead of changing into some nicer clothing, decided just to run over. Asked if it was acceptable attire and it was, but I was asked to remove my cap, which I obliged. I only bring my attire up, because although I was allowed to sit for a meal, the server seemed to treat me much differently than the nicer dressed clients he was helping next to my table. He came over, spoke to me briefly about specials as he poured me tap water, never asking me what I prefer to drink. I prefer bottled water. I asked about the specials again and the market price of each but he did not know. Wanted to compare some pricing as, as you can see by many other reviews, it’s a tad bit over priced and I can confirm now, that they are. I chose the Chilean Sea Bass, as the server told me it was a “house speciality”. I wasn’t asked if I would like an appetizer, nor asked if I wanted a salad or maybe a soup. I always get a salad. Received the entree and the Sea Bass was still frozen (not fresh) and raw in the middle. I alerted my server, who took the plate back to the kitchen. The manager brought my food back and offered no apology, just placed my plate down and walked away. I only know he was the manager because that same nicely dressed table had a steak that came out incorrect, and so when he brought that plate back, he offered his apologies, ask for the man to cut into the steak to ensure it was now cooked to his liking and then offered another apology. Text book customer service, right? Me? Nothing. The server never came back to check on me to whether it was ok, and also, I know had what seemed to be a different meal altogether, as I didn’t get carmelized onions this time, but rather two shrimp and some garnish. Also, after a meal, I always get dessert and coffee. I got neither here, as I could not get out of there quick enough. I was charged full price for my awful experience in which, that is no big deal. But I feel like they stereotyped me because of my attire and then maybe because of my uncleansed looked, not realizing I just traveled in for the last 10 hours and I was exhausted just looking for a good meal on a recommendation. So as I sit here in the Presidential Suite of the Westin in downtown Greenville, writing this review, I feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, getting mistreated on Rodeo Drive...albeit Greenville has no Rodeo and Larkin’s is far from a fancy boutique. They have certainly lost out on future customers from a very large company and everyone else I can tell to stay away from going forward. I go into all these details, because it was all the details the server (who told me he had been serving for 6 years, 3 of those here) and the manager both missed by a lot! If there was a way to give negative stars, this experience would be worthy. Consumer beware! Believe these reviews and maybe go elsewhere. I have to remember to always check before heading in. Lesson learned.

I had a reservation for two for my fiances birthday this past Friday at 7pm. We were both sooo excited to be able to finally try Larkins, which we have heard so many great things about. When we arrived, we were seated promptly. That is the only good thing I can say. Unfortunately, after waiting 12 minutes without being acknowledged, we both decided to leave. I completely understand that things happen sometimes and nobody can be perfect, but it was extremely disheartening and disappointing. It left my fiance in tears! We ended up going across the street to Jianna's and had an AMAZING time!

Absolutely delicious food! I have dined here twice before and am also having my wedding here! I cannot wait! The service this far has been impeccable and I'm so excited for the menu for my wedding! I hope others enjoy it as much as I do!!

This is a very nice, fancy restaurant. It is located right along the Reedy River in downtown Greenville and has outdoor seating with a view of the river. They have a very good menu, featuring expensive steaks for dinner and less expensive items like crab sandwiches for lunch.

Excellent drinks food and staff.

We had a dinner party of 10 with French and American guests. Neena provided the best service. I am amazed her introduction of the menu which really shows how much she understood the menu and made good recommendation to the customers. Our French guest really enjoyed the steak. Best service and good quality of food.

Jacob Franklin

We came here for a lunch. Great service and good food in overall. Our server was very friendly and attentive in right timing. Slightly salty side foods but that's the southern food. Overall, good quality food with fresh ingredients. Only downside was cocktail that I ordered. It was coffee infused bourbon drink which I think it was infused with already made coffee not infused with bourbon with coffee bean directly. It was still strong but too much watery taste. I am pretty picky when it comes to cocktails. I will come and try out other cocktails and update my review again.

Very nice quaint wedding venue in the alley.

Larkin’s has been one of my favorite restaurants for the past two years, and they never fail to disappoint. The atmosphere and views from the restaurant are both lovely. Their caesar salad and Parmesan truffle fries are incredible, the steaks are always very good, and they have a nice dessert menu as well.

Very good old style steak house. Very large wine selection. Great appetizers.

Brian Masinick

Excellent food, had crab cakes and chowder, along with an early Saturday afternoon lunch and drink. Great service, beautiful surrounding area near the river and the Peace Center. Hard to beat; you are sure to enjoy your experience.

Went with my daughter for a Mommy-Daughter date and it was excellent. Great table on the patio, fabulous wine, the food was prepared to perfection and the service was fantastic. Brian did a wonderful job!

Sharon Nealy

Beautiful location with good service and great food!

Service was extremely slow, I have specific dietary needs and I asked how the asparagus was prepared, I was not told about the sauce. The brussel sprout hash has bacon in it which I was also not told about. Someone had to ask 3 times for some more wine. Very dissatisfied with the service. Food tastes great, but we won't be back.
