I love this restaurant! The ambience is good, the service is good and the food excellent. Wide variety of fish, chicken, lamb and vegetarian options. Love the papadum and onion chutney they give you as a complimentary appetizer. Been going here for years and never disappointed.

Best Indian food in Greenville! Do not let the building fool you, it looks a little questionable on the outside, but is extremely nice inside. I've never been to India but the food seems extremely authentic. There is a huge selection to choose from. Naan bread comes with every entree, but me and my wife like to add either cheese or spinach naan as well. We also love their tea which has cardamom and other spices in it ( don't knock it until you try it! ). Portions are big and make for a great lunch the next day. The staff is very friendly and provide great service!

Really good Indian food. I can't contest to its authenticity due to never having had Indian food before but I will be back. And for everyone complaining about the "buffet" here is the definition... buf·fet1 bəˈfā/ noun 1. a meal consisting of several dishes from which guests serve themselves. Don't hate on them cause Ryan's skewed your perception.

My husband and I were going through town on our way to North Carolina and stumbled upon this restaurant. We'd been travelling all day, were tired and hungry. I ordered plain naan and butter chicken, my husband ordered garlic naan and lamb roganjosh. We both had to stop ourselves from moaning out loud, the food was sooooo good! The food was very flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Everything was fresh and the service was great. Whenever we visit our God children in Anderson, we will make the drive to India Palace for lunch or dinner.

We love to eat lunch at India Palace. The thali is an excellent way to try a variety of Indian cuisine. We enjoyed all of our selections, but particularly liked the saag and chicken korma. I also recommend specialty naan; we had garlic. One other special treat is the iced tea. It's unlike any tea at American restaurants, and it refreshing.

I took business associates from India there on their last day before returning home. Every single thing I ate was delicious!! My associates said the food was authentic. Extensive menu, resonably priced. It was so good, I brought my family the next day. My favorites were the chicken Makhni, garlic naan, shrimp pakora, onion chutney, and this amazing lamb dish cooked with rice, tomato, onion, & green peppers. It's been here since I was a young girl, I didn't realize what a treasure it was.

Positives: Very very good. Excellent choices. Atmosphere very nice. Only negative: 1 st wait staff unable to get our order correct (language issue & despite pointing to our drink choices he came back twice to clarify and still got it wrong. He was replaced and all went well thereafter!

It's ok. Definitely not the best Indian food I've had. Not the most authentic I've experienced either, but it is South Carolina and I'm sure they must be catering to Southern Conservatives as best they can. At least their not putting bacon on everything like other restaurants do to cater to the poor paletes of Good ole predominantly white southern Christians. Dont waste money on desert. Appetizers are a go! If you're used to eating fast food, this review wont matter but if you're a foodie like me, this is the most honest review you'll find here.

Small place big taste! I stumbled upon this place by accident and smelled the strong spicesas I was passing by(Literally on the street in my car). I was greeted and seated quickly. The sweat tea had a strong chai taste and I loved it. I tried the Indian pickles and a bit to salty for my taste. My entree was delicious and really large enough for 2 people. The garlic naan is a must.

Food was tasteful but we noticed a lot of orangish grease bordering our dishes so it may not have been great Indian food after all. For whatever reason the man who served us didn’t speak hardly any English and had to flag someone else down to finish taking our orders. Plus they were all wearing sanitation gloves which arose concern in us about how clean the restaurant might be. We probably won’t be back.

I had dinner at India Palace on a trip to SC tonight, and I loved everything I ordered. The chicken Tikka Masala was very tender and creamy and just the right amount of spice. The garlic Naan and the cheese Naan were both delicious as well. The staff was wonderful! Would totally recommend this place! 5 stars!

Worst Food. I am not even a local to this area. We were passing by after coming back from our cruise going back to CT. We took a dinner break at this WORST Indian restaurent ever. . Tomato soup - 3 different colors Papad - OLD and dry been sitting in closet for 2 plus years Bread Basket came first before Entrees and Roti were dipped/friend in oil Saag - LOTS OF SALT! Waiter asked if we wanted rice (shouldn't rice come with entree automatically?) well guess what rice was right behind him ready to serve! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I would rather eat fast food than dine at this so called India Palace!!! Does NOT deserve even 1 star!!!!

Tikka Masala is one of my favorite meals, so naturally it's the first thing I try when going to a new Indian restaurant for the first time. Let me say, Indian Palace's Tikka Masala was about the best I have ever had! The restaurant has a great atmosphere as well. Definitely will be making an effort to go back when in the area!

Usually I give this place 5 stars. Been eating here forever and love the food. Best authentic Indian in all the ville. BUT, tonight I was let down. I ordered scallop khari, and upon getting home and fixing my plate I had all of 3 scallops and maybe a half of another one. When I order “scallop” or “shrimp” or whatever it may be even if it’s chicken or whatever. I anticipate having more than 3 pieces of that said dish especially when I pay 15 bucks for just the plate. Overall this place has amazing food. But tonight I had to review it because I was seriously let down.

Gave a four our of five only because the price to portion ratio seems a little off. Nice place for a special occasion but a little to expensive for regular dining.

when a Buffet is not a Buffet.... They list on the net that they have a lunch buffet. A buffet is nice, particularly for Indian food, so that you can try different dishes. A buffet normally lets you control what you eat and how much. Instead, they bring you a huge portion of rice and a few little chicken dishes ON A PLATE to your table, for their fake "buffet" dishes. To eat more, you have to order another plate. you have no choice what is on it. they decide. you have to eat the huge amount of rice and the skimpy pieces of meat to get another. this is just stupid in my opinion. In all fairness, the food here is good, but DO NOT COME HERE FOR A BUFFET. Here, you really do not have a choice of : to buffet or not to buffet, that is the question. I think I read that in Shakespeare, somewhere. Please don't quote me on that.

Very disappointed. Ordered rice thali and paratha and naan. Paratha was not cooked well and not fresh. Naan felt like it is pita bread. And paneer tikka masala was average.

Took my wife for lunch today. Food was great! As the guy is refilling my water, a dead roach pours out of the pitcher, into my glass!!! He didn't notice, so I pointed it out. He takes the glass away, brings another and shows me that it is clean, and proceeds to fill it from the same pitcher that held the roach!!!!! If that happens right in front of you, what's going on back in the kitchen where no one is watching? Will never set foot in there again!

This is definitely an authentic Indian restaurant. The food is outstanding and without a doubt, its something one should try if not going to India themselves and ordering a similar dish from off of the menu. It's a small and semi hidden by it's surroundings on the outside but once you step foot inside the mood changes with the delicious smells and soothing background music. It's very quiet restaurant so you don't have to worry about shouting if you bring a friend. I ordered the lamb in particular which they have various flavors and variations of that selection; and I enjoyed that option greatly. To be honest I felt kind of skeptical by the way the establishment looks but I sucked it up and gave it a chance and it turned out to be better than I could have ever imagined by a long shot. I plan to return the next time I'm craving Indian food because that was my first time ever eating at an Indian restaurant since I'm not the biggest fan of the curry flavor but it was absolutely magnificent and well worth the time and money though it's not very expensive. The portions are very reasonable, nothing too over filling but definitely enough to have leftovers if you fill quickly. Overall experience gets a total of 5 out of 5 stars but the cosmetics of the restaurant doesn't show it's true power ranking in the food service industry. Nonetheless, I definitely recommend anyone or everyone to go try it out.

Best Indian food in the area for sure. I've tried three quarters of the menu and have never been disappointed. The wait staff doesn't speak any English: water, to go box, more rice. You'd think they would know at least the basics but no. Luckily, getting food to go is an option. :)

Fantastic! This place has excellent food. I ordered the "Buffett" plate. It has a combination of dishes served together and you can reorder portions if you are still hungry. I am a 300lb man and I ate every bit of mine but did not need to ask for any more. I probably shouldn't have eaten it all but it was so good. They are very friendly here and they were continuously cleaning. It is a family owned business and it shows, they have skin in the game and aim to please. It was familiar enough that I knew what I was ordering yet uniquely different in their own right, and uniquely good tasting. I believe they may have a real tandoori oven in the kitchen because the tandoori chicken tasted like no other I had before and it was absolutely incredible.
